We really enjoy our camper and are very said someone stole it. Any and all leads are greatly appreciated. We would just like it back....again please.
Breaking News: Roger Federer has won his eighth Wimbledon championship
A new men's record. It is his second Grand Slam title this year and 19th overall.
When Roger Federer and his growing family embarked on a new tennis season in 2017 after his six-month injury layoff, the big goal was winning Wimbledon.
Check.
On Sunday, he won his eighth Wimbledon singles championship and 19th Grand Slam singles title by defeating Marin Cilic in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1, 6-4. The victory, his first at Wimbledon since 2012, made Federer the oldest man to win at the All England Club in the Open era, which began in 1968.

Off-Duty Trooper Fires At Suspect Who Shot Another During Shootout In Wicomico Co. 7-9-17
(SALISBURY, MD) – An off-duty Maryland state trooper working security interrupted an apparent shootout between two men, one of whom who is believed to have just shot the other on the parking lot of a Wicomico County restaurant early this morning.
The two deceased are identified as Michael T. Ward, Jr., 27, and Jaquan M. Griffin, 21, both of Salisbury, Md. Both were transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center where they were pronounced dead.
According to the preliminary investigation by the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit, at about 2:00 a.m. today, two Maryland state troopers were off-duty and working security at a 24-hr. restaurant in the 400-block Punkin Court, Salisbury. One of the troopers noticed a large crowd outside on the east end of the parking lot. He was calling the Salisbury Police Department to report the crowd when multiple shots were fired on the lot.
Upon hearing the shots, the second trooper came out and approached the east end of the parking lot on the side nearest the restaurant. The preliminary investigation indicates the trooper saw a man, later identified as Ward, firing a handgun. The trooper engaged him and Ward turned in his direction, firing at the trooper as he walked toward him. In fear for his life, the trooper fired at Ward.
Moments later, a man later identified as Griffin, staggered into the restaurant from the parking lot and collapsed on the floor. Two friends took him in their vehicle to Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
EMS personnel responded and transported Ward to Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Neither trooper on the parking lot was injured. No one else on the parking lot reported being injured, however many of them left and did not wait to be interviewed by police.
At this time, Maryland State Police Homicide Unit investigators believe the initial shots on the parking lot occurred when Ward was shooting at Griffin, who may have returned fire. A semi-automatic handgun was recovered beside Ward. A second semi-automatic handgun was found in the parking lot in the area Griffin was believed to have been.
It is unknown at this time whether Ward was fatally wounded by the trooper or Griffin. It is believed Griffin was struck by rounds fired by Ward. The bodies of both Ward and Griffin will be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for autopsies.
The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit is continuing the investigation. Interviews are being conducted and security camera footage from the restaurant and a nearby hotel is being reviewed. Maryland State Police crime scene technicians are processing the scene for evidence.
The trooper who fired his Department-issued Glock .40 caliber pistol is a seven-year veteran of the Maryland State Police. He has been placed on administrative leave which is routine whenever a trooper is involved in a shooting.
The Maryland State Police Internal Affairs Unit is conducting an investigation into the trooper-involved shooting. This investigation is conducted whenever a trooper is involved in a deadly force shooting.
Homicide Unit investigators have been in contact this morning with the Wicomico County State’s Attorney’s Office. Upon completion, the investigation by the Homicide Unit will be presented to the State’s Attorney’s Office for review.
Shooting In Salisbury At Punkin Court - Next To Denny's In Salisbury
A Viewer Stated: I was told it may have been a police involved shooting. But Jake Day said crime is down and Salisbury is thriving because of him and his leadership.
Will Denny's In Salisbury Be The Next Victim Of Closing Their Doors At Midnight?
It's bad enough that WaWa and Royal Farms are already forced to close their doors at midnight because of way too many calls to the Salisbury Police.
Commenters clearly stated, how bad it is that Denny's has to hire two off duty Police Officers for Denny's alone, pretty scary stuff.
Then we have Boy Mayor Day and Police Chief Barbara Duncan claiming "crime is down in Salisbury". How about the transient people wanting a cup of coffee, traveling through the Bypass and stop into Denny's at all hours of the day and night.
What about all the rapes that continue to happen in Salisbury. Shootings, murders, stabbings, the list goes on and on. I even know of businesses right on Main Street in Downtown Salisbury where they lock their doors during the daytime business hours.
How many people have to be assaulted in Salisbury before the Mayor and Chief recognize there's a very serious problem? Will women ever be safe coming into the City Limits any more? We all know of friends and family who refuse to come to Salisbury after dark. You are literally taking you life into your own hands if you do, that's a fact.
I have spoken to numerous people recently who flat out said no matter what, they will not be going back to Denny's, period. We'd like to know, will YOU be going back? Let this Police Chief and Mayor know how you feel in comments.

Jake Day has the Lipstick out again!
On WBOC, Mayor Jake Day discusses his new chain-link fence policy but he seems to forget a couple of things which make this initiative nonsensical.
One would think the Mayor would get the clue that once again, he's overreaching his boundaries and getting his nose into situations that will no doubt fail to curry favor with many of his voters. Does he not get the issue that crime in Salisbury is "the" issue and that most people aren't really concerned with curb appeal when being shot at outside their front door?
Contrary to his statements to the Daily Times where he said it was to make Salisbury beautiful, Day is now claiming his chain-link fiasco as not about "aesthetics" but one for appraisal values - to bolster your home values. However, most of Salisbury consists of rental properties, thus, they are inhabited by people who have no vested interest in their surrounding neighborhood. Therefore, you could have $1M platinum fencing around your property but the fact remains, when most properties are rentals, appraisal values will not increase by any meaningful difference!
For those who possess real estate investment common sense, it is a given whenever you start to have large numbers of rental properties in any given neighborhood, property values decrease substantially. Drive around some of the once-beautiful, prominent neighborhoods of Salisbury, you'll find this to be the case. For example, many streets in the Camden District have fallen in disrepair and have condemned properties due to neglect by the owner (and city officials who should be issuing fines but don't) and cars parked in the front yard -- all hallmarks of renters not caring about their digs. Yet, Day thinks by banning chain link fence, these problems will be miraculously solved. Really?
Political Hit Jobs: Who really pays?
By Thornton Crowe
In recent months, those around the area have seen political games play out in the most unfavorable fashion. Mayor Jake Day and County Council President John Cannon have created much folly in our local government with their personal slams towards opponents, not to mention endless barrage of idiocy in their tactics to have their way.
It begs one to ask: Are they really looking out for their constituents? The answer is quite simply no. Why? Because it costs you, the taxpayers, thousands of dollars for them to employ their gaff-a-moment slamfest. Better yet, why do you, the taxpayer, allow this insane puppet show to continue at your expense?
For example, look at this nonsense with the Salisbury Fire Department. One would think it would be paramount to all the elected officials that their residents are covered in cases of emergencies. Fire, health crisis - all should be forefront of the mind of decision-makers. Instead, in a double team effort as per the Daily Times article from Friday, it would seem Day and Cannon have joined forces to thwart any solution to the never-ending fire department issue rather than being part of any amicable solution. Thus, they wind up being the nucleus of drama with no end in sight.

A Viewer Writes: Poplar Hill Pre-Release Unit Closing 7-12-17
It has been put on the table again for budget cuts to shut down Poplar Hill Pre-Release Unit.
Again, this will not help the C.O. shortage at ECI. This will be a big problem for our local communities. Poplar Hill provides inmate workers in the community who clean up our roadways and work in the community for very little cost to the county and city governments. There are only 25 C.O.s at Poplar Hill and if it shuts, a lot of them will retire.
Closing Poplar Hill will not help anyone, not the communities, not the staff, not ECI, or any hope of inmate rehabilitation. Inmates will be released without any job skills or jobs, right back into our neighborhoods.
You know what will happen next. I’m sure somewhere over the bridge, there is a better answer to cut some fat off the budget. The Eastern shore is working on bare bones already.
Salisbury's Chamber of Commerce Seeking Politics Push?
By Thornton Crowe
In today's Daily Times, an article surfaced with an interview with the new Chamber of Commerce President Bill Chambers, discussing the 'political punch' the organization will engage now that he's heading the ship. Explaining through a series of questions, he discusses the general sentiment of his membership and their feelings of under-representation in Salisbury and surrounding areas.
One thing demonstratively missing from his talk about wind energy and supporting area schools is: How is the Chamber, under his new management, planning to inspire small businesses to flourish in Salisbury again?
A City can't live with only a couple big employers... It needs to be a village of many...
Yes, he does talk about all the feel-good initiatives we're used to hearing from other local government types, but the true nexus of Salisbury's economy hinges on whether or not the area can support (and be supported by) small business. As any economist in the know will relay, the nucleus of any community is it's ability to prosper monetarily; hence, everything from that point forward all falls in line like a Domino chain.

Maxine Waters: ‘I’m taking the gloves off’ on Trump
‘You know what? I’m taking the gloves off and I’m going to step out.’
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) has decided to take “the gloves off” to encourage others to see President Trump’s the way she does, the House Democrat said in a New York Times profile published on Friday.
“Trump was just so outrageous, so disrespectful, such a bully and dangerous for this country, I decided, ‘You know what? I’m taking the gloves off and I’m going to step out,’” Waters told the Times, explaining her bombastic rhetoric toward the president. She has called for his impeachment.
“I was going to not only challenge him but encourage others to see him for what he is: basically a bully, an egotistical maniac, a liar and someone who did not need to be president,” she continued.
Waters has proven to be one of the most vocal critics of Trump during his presidency, and has called for his impeachment.

Watch: School faculty member allegedly sideswipes a bicyclist — and keeps going
The exact moment a driver clipped a bicyclist along a Tennessee highway over the weekend was caught on camera — but the most stunning part of the incident was what happened after the collision.
Tyler Noe, 23, was bicycling Saturday with his friend Greg Goodman on Natchez Trace Parkway near Nashville. That’s when police say the passenger side of 58-year-old Marshall Grant Neely III’s vehicle clipped Noe’s bike — and then just kept going as if nothing had ever happened.
According to WSMV-TV, Natchez Trace Parkway is a designated bicycle route, and cyclists are allowed to use full traffic lanes.

A spot of History with your morning cup of coffee...
By Thornton Crowe
By Thornton Crowe
The other day, an anonymous commenter submitted the following for publication here on Salisbury News. There's only one problem. Their take on colonial history is way out of whack! Hence, why the person probably has such disdain for Whites.
Comment:
"The reality is for far to many years white folks have killed people of all races with total disregard for life. Y'all are the most vicious kind of man to ever walk this earth. You damn near completely wiped out a whole race of people for their land. You enslaved another to be the burden bearer's of this nation. Now that your comfortable with yourselves and your off springs are in a wonderful place finically. Now you want to point the finger and call everybody else the bad guy! Shame on you. I don't agree with the things young unguided men do at all and in no way do I agree with the direction the culture is going. But how dare a killer of millions of innocent people point a finger at these fools. At least they killed each other or some dumb street shit then walking in to a movie theater or a elementary school and kill for nothing."
Besides the obvious illiteracy of the author, the fact they have much of Colonial History wrong leads us to understand why some just don't seem to get the whole Fake News behind the White Privilege meme permeating our society today.
First, colonists didn't come here to kill anyone. They came here to for money making and world influence purposes only. It was an untraveled terrain and a new adventure. They didn't seek out to rape and pillage - and if you know history, those moments were not as frequent as you've been led to believe.
In fact, most of them were surprised to find anyone inhabited the regions at all, because the wilderness did not contain any civilized people. Yes, they did go against the Native Americans but don't think for one minute the latter were helpless. In fact, there were several battles where the Native Americans slaughtered the colonists - killing everyone in sight. While this endeavor was seriously wrong on the colonists' lot, they didn't go unscathed.
Additionally, many colonists rebelled against each other - not Native Americans. Many rebellions happened due to conflicts over a plethora of things - namely trading rights, etc. Bacon's Rebellion is a prime example and one should investigate it for more history on that phenomena that occurred during our early years here in the New World. Furthermore, in Maryland, a rebellion occurred where black slaves and indentured servants went up against owners to physical altercation of the passage of the Virginia Slave Code of 1705.
Second, many free black people in the colonial era owned slaves. In fact, one such owner in Accomack County, had more black slaves than most whites. He was the richest landowner in the region. Don't forget black slaves were sold to whites out of the West Indies by black merchants -- not whites. Therefore, where is all the black angst against these merchants of death? Why aren't black people being held accountable and having people demand reparations from them?

For some swimmers, an Oasis gone
When about 200 angry Ocean Pines homeowners stormed a special board meeting in April, the directors voted 5-2 to do away with a “Family Fun Night” that would allow people of ages into the Oasis pool.
Formerly called the yacht club pool, the swimming facility had long been an “oasis” from children, as it functioned as the only adults-only pool in Ocean Pines. Many were not happy with the temporary policy change and the board, at the time, voted to side with popular opinion.
Then, on Monday, the board announced in a press release that the Oasis pool would now be open to all ages, all the time. The vote was held during a closed session, following an open session on Sunday.
The text of the release read, “The Board of Directors of the Ocean Pines Association unanimously approved the following motion, introduced by Acting General Manager Brett Hill, after consultation with legal counsel in closed session, on Sunday, July 9:

Cannon is worried about volunteers having to drive 10 to 15 minutes. UM HELLO!!! What the hell does he think the volunteers at the other volunteer stations do. Why is he NOT concerned about the COUNTY residents but only those in the city. Why isn't he doing anything about it taking 2 and 3 calls before an ambulance can get a driver. Yes the county pays for a paramedic but that does NO good if they don't have a driver. Parsonsburg and Pittsville share a paramedic. Willards and Powellville share a paramedic. How long does it take them to get from one station to the other and then wait for a driver?

When The Wicomico County States Attorneys Office Goes Too Far
The other day I happened to be in Court listening to several cases and one really ticked me off.
It had to do with a Father and Son who got into an argument that escalated into a physical altercation. The Son is 14 years old and was feeling his oats challenging his Father's requests, which were extremely reasonable.
When the Son confronted his Father and tried to push him out of the way, the Father pushed back. It escalated to the point the Father felt it necessary to take the child down. No punches were thrown but because the Son had a bruise on him, the Father was arrested and charged with 2nd degree assault.
All I kept thinking the entire time was, WOW, I should've been locked up numerous times, (with 5 boys) because while I never threw punches, our situations were a LOT worse.
I felt so bad for this Father who seemed to be a very honorable man who carried himself extremely well. So now we can't be a parent. We can't stand up to our children without the threat of being arrested for parenting. We have to hire a criminal lawyer, which usually costs several thousand dollars. We have to bow our head, hope and pray we'll get a Judge who understands and hopefully is having a great day.
Fortunately they had a Judge who saw right through the crap from the very beginning and threw the case right out of court. Shame on the SPD and the States Attorneys Office who could not tell the difference between child abuse and what it takes to raise a young man. What a damn shame!

Black Pastors Sue Coke: 'We're Losing More People to the Sweets Than to the Streets'
Two African-American pastors filed a lawsuit against Coca-Cola alleging that the company is killing their parishioners.
The Washington Post reported Thursday that the lawsuit filed by William Lamar of the Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C. and Delman Coates, the pastor at Mount Ennon Baptist Church in Clinton, Md., was born out of funerals at the pastors' churches for people who died of heart disease, diabetes, and stroke.
"It's become really clear to me that we're losing more people to the sweets than to the streets," Coates told the Post. "There's a great deal of misinformation in our communities, and I think that's largely a function of these deceptive marketing campaigns."
The two pastors blamed Coca-Cola and the American Beverage Association, another defendant in the lawsuit, for intentionally not being truthful with customers regarding the sugar content in their products and the dangers it poses.

Ocean City officials say wind turbines too close to coast an eyesore
OCEAN CITY, Md. —Recent approval of two wind farms off the coast of Ocean City is generating concern.
Beach-goers, property owners and elected officials are worried that the distance of the wind farms from shore will change the view.
In Ocean City, the beach matters. Its 10-mile sandy coast is the No. 1 asset in Maryland's vacation capital. The quaint town of just more than 7,000 welcomes 345,000 visitors each summer.
Hotels, condominiums, clubs, bars and restaurants exist because of beach-goers. Ocean City tourism generates $150 million each year in tax revenues for the state.
But change as significant as the constant offshore breeze is literally on the horizon.

Is Traditional Radio Dying?
By Thornton Crowe
For Rush and Sean listeners who follow them on local AM station WICO, silence has become a mainstay. Lately, the station has been having issues with dead air during every news break where nothing can be heard. One would swear the station was off-air because it's not a short pause, but at least, a minute in length, then the network news coming blaring through. What's going on here?
Have you also noticed the station will also repeat network news on the weekends? For many listeners, this is a pain because when you listen to talk radio, you'd like to believe the news breaks on the weekends would be fresh, but to no avail, WICO's repeat weekday news can trip people up if they're not paying attention.
What's happened to this once-excellent station? It used to be they had an FM frequency but well over a year ago, they 'lost' it in a sale. When you call the station, they claim they're waiting for the FCC to clear them for another FM handle, but it seems to never happen. The calls happened around the same the time they lost their first FM standing and it's never come back.

Maine Democratic Rep Makes Physical Threat Against ‘Pu**y’ Trump
A Democratic state lawmaker in Maine appears to have made a death threat against President Trump.
“Trump is a half term president, at most, especially if I ever get within 10 feet of that pussy,” Rep. Scott Hamann wrote in a lengthy Facebook tirade on Tuesday.
Hamann, who represents a district in South Portland and also works as project manager for a food bank, appears to have been responding to another Facebook user who expressed support for Trump.
Hamann accused Trump of being “anti-American,” and an “admitted rapist” who was “installed by the Russians.”

NYPD cops turn their backs on De Blasio
A significant amount of New York City Police Department officers turned their backs against Mayor Bill de Blasio when he spoke at the funeral of Miosotis Familia, the 48-year-old NYPD officer who was fatally shot in the head by Alexander Bonds on July 5.
Thousands of NYPD officers attended Familia’s funeral of the 12-year veteran in the Bronx at World Changers Church New York.
Plenty of officers lined the streets, including 25,000 mourners attended from across the country, but when de Blasio began to speak at the funeral, many men and women in blue turned their back to the mayor.

Salisbury's Big Chain Link Smackdown?
What? No chain link vote this week? Pourqoi?
Looks like the City Council has their earsets plugged in as homeowners and landlords complain about the proposed beautification measure by our illustrious Mayor Jake Day. Glad to hear some dragged themselves out from in front of the idiot box to go protest this insidious balderdash full of feel-good goo that makes you have a tooth cavity upon reading it.
It seems last Monday's sessions produced a tabling of the "Chain Link Fencing" caper and may be revisited in mid-July. All the same, let's hope the City Council bounces the idea altogether because let's face it, kids, bullets can't be stopped by vinyl green fencing either.
And to think, no crazies on the downtown plaza with signs and vagina hats...
It's good to see folks taking a vested interest in that little thing we call property owners' rights as per our Constitution; rearing up to say, "Damn the Man" in a stunning fashion. Snaps to the fine citizens who did voice their dismay and here's to many more insane policies we'll have to follow suit with more peaceful protest.
With all the issues Salisbury faces, aesthetics are surely the last thing that should be worrying City Hall dwellers' pretty little heads. If we want to talk aesthetics, I'd rather have chain link fencing than blood on the pavement from shootouts in an O.K. Corral styling crime scene full of spills and chills. I think that's a movie most of us would care not to be represented in real life.

Liberals are killing Maryland!
By Thornton Crowe
Just what does this new Maryland law preventing suspensions and expulsions from public schools really mean to our society?
Chaos. Anarchy. Overtaxing our penal system with lawbreakers who were raised in a system where boundaries were not allowed...
You wonder why kids today throw attitude today? This is the very reason why. They don't fear any repercussions whatsoever. Not from parents. School. Law Enforcement. Etc.

You wonder why kids today throw attitude today? This is the very reason why. They don't fear any repercussions whatsoever. Not from parents. School. Law Enforcement. Etc.
Liberals don't seem to understand that without structure, kids believe no one cares about or loves them. Without discipline they are left unfettered to do as they will and nobody will ever hold them accountable. Any Psych 101 class will tell you this but they just ignore that part of the program.
Like human nature dictates, all people, at one point or another, push the limits to the point they end up incarcerated at one point in their lives because at some point, the Law prevails.
Ironically, Liberals don't like laws unless they legislate behaviors they deem as acceptable. Example: You can bully, beat up on your classmates and mouth off at your teachers without recourse but don't you dare smoke a cigarette out in public! Sends kids all the wrong messages but then again... what do you expect?
You're expecting bullies to mind the bullies. Does this make any sense?
At the end of the day, it is our complicit nature of the loony Left that has fostered this dereliction within our society and caused our school system to be a hotbed filled with violence, disrespect and primitive behaviors ill befitting of any animal kingdom.
We have no one to blame but ourselves that we send people to Annapolis who pass this kind of trash policy and then turn around patting themselves on the back as if they've done something meaningful for the communities. Perhaps it's time we made better selections in our representatives - ones who hold values and principles more liken to a civilize society rather than wallow in some urban decay. The choice is really up to you.
Vote wisely and you'll get a much different result. Vote with common sense and you'll get common sense governance. It's really that simple!
New Md. law restricts school expulsions, suspensions for young students
SILVER SPRING, MD (WUSA9) - A new law in Maryland will take aim at restricting a growing number of kids, the youngest students of all, from getting kicked out of school.
The law applies to second grade kids and younger.
In 2016-2016, 2,363 primary aged kids were suspended or expelled from school, a 17 percent increase from the year before.
It’s a statistic that disturbs educational advocates, says Senator Will Smith, one of the bill’s sponsors.

Delingpole: Liberals to Trump-Supporting Tangier Island ‘We Hope You Drown’
Angry liberals are wishing death on a tiny, vanishing island in Chesapeake Bay because its inhabitants mostly support Donald Trump and refuse to think correct thoughts about climate change.
Tangier Island in the middle of Chesapeake Bay, about an hour’s boat ride from the Virginia mainland, rises only a few feet above the waterline and has been slowly eroded by the sea since it was first colonized in the 1600s. Now its 500 remaining residents are desperate for federal support because it is on the verge of disappearing.
But when they asked for support from Donald Trump to help them build a wall – a sea wall, this time, to hold back the eroding waves – it prompted a barrage of hate from outsiders. Their crime, apparently, was to blame the island’s plight on natural erosion and not rising sea levels caused by man-made climate change.

Men and Republicans Are the Best Tippers
Hoping to get a good tip? Seek out the table with the most conservative men from New England. A new survey finds men, Republicans, and residents of the northeast are the best tippers.
Women tip a median of 16 percent, while Democrats and southerners leave a median 15 percent at a restaurant, according to a new survey of more than 1,000 American adults conducted by Princeton Survey Research Associates International on behalf of CreditCards.com. That's compared with the median 20 percent that men, Republicans, and northeasterners leave. Those who pay with plastic leave a median 20 percent, compared with 15 percent for those who pay in cash.
Though roughly half of people tip between 16 percent and 20 percent, about a fifth of restaurant goers polled admitted to stiffing the wait staff at least occasionally.

Muslim Immigrants Must Not Assimilate, Says Progressive Ally Linda Sarsour
Muslims in the United States should not assimilate into American society, but should instead act “to please Allah and only Allah,” said Linda Sarsour, a rising star among progressive Democrats, last weekend.
Sarsour’s remarks were part of a July 1 speech given at the annual meeting of the Islamic Society of North America, or ISNA.
She urged Muslim groups to build alliances – but to not integrate — with other groups in America, saying “You are not [numerous] enough on your own …. we need to build coalitions, we need allies.”
When he was President, Barack Obama boosted Sarsour by naming her as a “Champion of Change,” as part of his campaign to recruit Muslims into the Democratic coalition of diverse minorities.
American progressives swear they oppose theocracies, favor democracies and free speech, favor economic opportunities and legal equality for women, oppose genital mutilation, and favor peace between Israel and nearly Arab Muslims.
Yet progressives are unwilling to treat religions as legitimate political factors. That contempt for religion allows progressives to support Sarsour in the hope she rallies immigrant Muslims against President Donald Trump.

Perdue Stadium Improvements Get $500K Boost
SALISBURY – Officials in Wicomico County this week approved a $500,000 grant award that will be used to make infrastructure improvements at the Arthur W. Perdue Stadium in Salisbury.
The Maryland General Assembly authorized the $500,000 grant as provided in House Bill 151, which allots funds for planning, design, construction, repair, renovation, site improvements and more at the Arthur W. Perdue stadium. The grant does not require a matching component from the county.
In a legislative session of the Wicomico County Council Wednesday, Delmarva Shorebirds General Manager Chris Bitters and Steve Miller, director of the county’s recreation, parks and tourism department, met with the council to discuss the grant.
“Were looking to accept funding in the amount of $500,000 from the state of Maryland,” Bitters said.

Karma Is A Biotch
And someone made a comment they would have lots of leftovers......
Just a sneak peek of today's BBQ chicken. Originally planned on selling 200 platters today. Well, we sold out, used some of tomorrow's inventory, and sold 350 platters. Don't worry though, we picked up more chicken today and will be out grilling first thing tomorrow morning. Thank you for the support and the donations that many people made. It was great to meet so many people from the community. We don't want you to meet us the first time when it's an emergency. We want to provide you with prevention and education before the emergency. If you could not make it out today, hopefully we will see you tomorrow. 11am until we sell out. Stop by and see us at 800 Snow Hill Rd, Salisbury. Where you will actually be happy to pull up and see "smoke showing". We sold out fast today, so come early. $8 platter includes a chicken halve, pickle slice, roll, and a bag of chips. See you there!!!!
A Viewer Writes: Rename Salisbury
Let's rename the 'Bury with one that gets more of the ghetto flavor of Baltimore.

Working more than 55 hours raises risk of heart problems
Working more than 55 hours a week significantly increases the risk of developing serious heart problems, researchers have found.
People who work such long hours are 40 per cent more likely to suffer an irregular heartbeat than those who work a normal working week of 35 to 40 hours, according to a study.
Long shifts were already known to increase the risk of stroke, but the link with heart rhythm problems - known by the medical term atrial fibrillation - was not previously known.
