CRISFIELD — The Crisfield Wesleyan Church on Lawsonia Road has an urgent need and asking the public for support. The air-conditioning has failed and the repair is an estimated $4,000.

Community-minded residents, former members of the church who may have moved away, and others are asked to help contribute to this major expense by making a tax-deductible donation payable to Crisfield Wesleyan Church and mailing it in care of the Rev. Bob Daniels, 3067 Lawsonia Road, Crisfield, Md. 21817.

  1. If half the readers donate $50 -$100 today, that a/c can be fixed by Sunday. Let's make it happen.

  2. Supply and demand. More than enough houses of worship around. It would appear this one is no longer economically viable. Let it wither and expire.

  3. 7:23, if HALF of my daily readers donated $50.00 they'd raise almost a quarter of a million dollars in one day..

  5. sounds like the congregation should step up and be a little more generous to the Reverend that likes to spend those funds for what he enjoys rather than fixing the AC unit.

  6. Damn, Joe. Let me think of a Sally Struthers sad story and I'll send it to you, too. That's a lot of eyeballs. Much more than the Daily Waste of Times.

  7. Rev Daniels is a good man, comes from a good family. His father Art Daniels was a legend on the Eastern Shore. Good project to get behind.

  8. Like it or not, the church is a business and should be ran as such.

  11. I will send them a small contribution. Small rural churches are a very important part of American culture and community. The cost of things like AC are higher than they used to be and small congregations struggle, but they are important.

  12. 10:34 That's very generous of you and you are absolutely right about small rural churches.

  13. Perhaps an HVAC company on the Shore should or will step up to the plate and repair, replace the system. They would get the blessing of the community, church members, and the readers of the Salisbury News. Sounds like a great way to make numerous new business contacts with potential future customers for their company.
