WATCH An ARMY Of Young Muslim Males MARCH Through Tiny Slovenia On Their Way To Germany!

The Muslim invasion of Europe continues after Germany threw open its arms and welcomed in whatever “Syrian refugees” could illegally make their way up there.

Here’s a video from the tiny country of Slovenia, where the migrants are being pushed through after Hungary closed its borders:

Putzfeed has some pictures from the march, showing what the United Nations has already confirmed – they’re mostly male with very few women and very few children:

A Teenager’s Words to a 94-Year-Old World War II Vet in a Burger King Nearly Moved One Customer to Tears

A Missouri woman was in line at a Burger King over the weekend when she witnessed something that moved her so much she said she “almost cried.”

Tina Readus of Cape Girardeau wrote on her Facebook page that an older man was in front of her and her mother Saturday when a young employee came from the back and extended his hand toward the man.

The older man — wearing a cap indicating he’s a military veteran — tried handing the employee a coupon, but the young guy said, ”Oh no, I just want to shake your hand and thank you for your service and for my freedom in our beautiful country.”

Doctors Looking For Way To Prolong Lives Of Gunshot Victims

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Researchers at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center want to try a new procedure that could prolong the lives of gunshot or stabbing victims arriving at emergency rooms in cardiac arrest.

When a victim is in cardiac arrest, doctors have mere minutes to open the patient’s chest and wrap their hands around the heart to get it pumping again. About 95 percent die in those scenarios, The Baltimore Sun reports.

To buy a few more moments for the patients, researchers want to start a study where they can drop the body temperature of a victim to 50 degrees, preserve the heart, brain and other organs while fixing injuries, and then warm and revive the patient before the organs shut down, the newspaper reports.

“The biggest thing in this situation is, once the heart stops no oxygen or blood flows to vital organs,” said Dr. Samuel Tisherman, a principal investigator of the study and professor of surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. “Every second, every minute counts in terms of vital organs now suffering because there is no oxygen.”

Queen Anne's County Office Of The Sheriff Press Release 10-22-15

INCIDENT: Assault / False Imprisonment / Robbery
DATE: 09/07/2015
LOCATION: Deep Landing Road, Chestertown (QA) MD
DETAILS: The Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Unit has been investigating an incident which occurred on September 7th which has resulted in four persons being charged with several felonies.
On September 7th Warren G, Hoyt III visited the residence of Kristie Horne on Deep Landing Road. Hoyt stated he went inside and sat down when Christopher Murray and Jon Roark, fathers of Horne’s two children came from another room and confronted him.
Hoyt stated he was threatened at knife point and refused to allow him to leave while demanding money. The two continued to threaten to kill him, made him disrobe and had him call a family member to request money. Roark is said to have gone to Hoyt’s vehicle dumping out items in the truck, cut the seat and removed the 2016 validation tab. A third male, Marcus L. Dawson arrived and joined in threatening kill Hoyt and demanding he sign the title of the truck to them. At some point they allegedly placed a bag over Hoyt’s head.
At some point another person arrived at the residence, and while the suspects were talking with that person, Hoyt fled the residence, got to his truck and drove off with Murray and Roark chasing him in Murray’s vehicle with Hoyt losing them somewhere near the RT 213 Royal Farm Store.
Interviews resulted in Horne stated she knew Murray & Roark wanted to do something to Hoyt because they don’t want their kids to be around Hoyt’s due to his past.
Murray was interviewed and advised it was a calm conversation with Hoyt and denied taking anything from Hoyt. During a break of the interview, Detective Matthews checked Murray’s BMW car and verified that the validation tab on the license plate was registered to Hoyt’s truck.
As a result:
JON CHRISTOPHER ROARK (27) of Cambridge, MD was charged with:
Armed Robbery, Extortion, Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, False Imprisonment, Reckless Endangerment, Robbery, Attempted Theft, Attempted Theft, MDOP, Rogue & Vagabond and eleven counts of Conspiracy.
Roark was arrested on October 1st and initially held on a $500000 Bond. After a bail review he was held without bond at the Queen Anne’s Detention Center.
CHRISTOPHER LAMONT MURRY (32) of Cordova, MD was charged with:
Armed Robbery, Extortion, Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, False Imprisonment, Reckless Endangerment, Robbery, Attempted Theft and Theft Scheme under $100.
Murray was arrested on October 25th and held until the 26th when a $15,000 bond was posted.

Pastor’s Daughter Surprised Her Dad With ‘Certificate of Purity’ at Her Wedding. And It’s What’s on the Document That Has Ignited Debate.

A preacher’s daughter is facing both scrutiny and praise after presenting her father with a “certificate of purity” on her wedding day that affirmed that she had abided by her commitment to abstain from sex until marriage.

Brelyn Bowman gave the framed document to her father, Dr. Michael Aaron Freeman, at her reception after she wedded husband, Timothy, on October 10, the Daily Mail reported.

The text on the certificate contained a passage from 1 Corinthians 6:20 and proclaimed that — based on a doctor’s confirmation — she remained a virgin as of her wedding day.

How You'll Know If The NSA Is Spying On Your Facebook Account

Many Americans have worried that the government is monitoring their online activities. Facebook will now let you know if that might be happening.

Facebook has announced that it will begin to warn users if it detects that an account has been targeted by a government-sponsored entity, such as the National Security Agency (NSA).

"While we have always taken steps to secure accounts that we believe to have been compromised, we decided to show this additional warning if we have a strong suspicion that an attack could be government-sponsored," Alex Stamos, Facebook's Chief Security Officer, wrote in a blog post Oct. 17, according to Mashable.

"We do this because these types of attacks tend to be more advanced and dangerous than others, and we strongly encourage affected people to take the actions necessary to secure all of their online accounts," he added.
If Facebook detects evidence of government intruding on a Facebook user's account, they will send this warning:

Mitt Romney Predicts: 'I Don't Think It's Likely That Donald Trump Will Be The Nominee'

On Oct. 18, former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said that he doesn’t think Donald Trump will end up being his party’s presidential nominee.

After speaking for some time on Oct. 18 about Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton’s track record as secretary of state, CNN’s “State of the Union” host Jake Tapper asked Romney how the two current front-runners would come out in a hypothetical matchup.

“Are you afraid that Donald Trump will not be able to beat Hillary Clinton?” Tapper asked.

“Well, I don't think it's likely that Donald Trump will be the nominee, but it's obviously too early to tell,” the former Massachusetts governor responded. “At this stage numbers go up and down, candidates have bursts of support.

“Donald Trump has had a lot of support for a long time, and so I think a lot of folks think, well, this could go a lot further than, than people had expected."

Governor Larry Hogan Announces Transformative Transit Plan for Baltimore City

Administration to Invest $135 Million to Fix Outdated and Inefficient System

BALTIMORE, MD – Governor Larry Hogan today announced $135 million in targeted investments to transform and improve transit throughout the Baltimore metropolitan area. The multi-phase plan will create an interconnected transit system, known as BaltimoreLink, and includes redesigning the entire local and express bus systems throughout Baltimore and adding 12 new high-frequency, color-coded bus routes that improve connections to jobs and other transit modes.
“This comprehensive plan signifies the state's long-term commitment to the future of Baltimore City by providing a more reliable and timely transit experience, and better connections to jobs,” said Governor Hogan. “For years, Maryland's largest and most important city had an antiquated and broken transit system, but with this vision, the people of Baltimore and surrounding jurisdictions will finally be able to travel conveniently, efficiently and affordably from where they live to where they work.”
“Not many cities get to redesign their entire transit system from scratch fixing decades of accumulated inefficiencies,” said Transportation Secretary Pete K. Rahn.
“For years, this great city has struggled with a less-than-great public transportation system,” said City Council President Bernard C. “Jack” Young. “I would like to thank Governor Hogan for undertaking this process to improve our transit system and better link city residents to growing job markets throughout the region. I look forward to working with the administration to bring this plan to reality and deliver a system that works for the citizens of Baltimore.”
“The development of a comprehensive, efficient and effective mass transit system is essential to the City of Baltimore’s long-term sustainability, prosperity and relevance,” said Jimmy Rouse, a founding member of Transit Choices.
BaltimoreLink System
The BaltimoreLink system will deliver a unified transit network and includes renaming existing Maryland Transit Administration modes: LocalLink (Local Bus), Light RailLink, Metro SubwayLink and MobilityLink to create an interconnected transit system. The BaltimoreLink system includes several components: CityLink, LocalLink, Light RailLink, Metro SubwayLink, MobilityLink, Express BusLink and BicycleLink. The BaltimoreLink system will debut when the new CityLink high-frequency bus service starts in summer 2017.

Credit Suisse: with just $10 “you’re wealthier than 25% of Americans”

Last week Credit Suisse released its annual Global Wealth Report.

The big headline grabber was their analysis showing that the top 1% of people now own 50% of the world’s wealth.

That is true and rather astonishing.

However, the report had another finding that was even more astonishing and largely overlooked.

What they found was that, as a percentage of the world’s population, there are now more poor people in the United States and Europe than there are in China.

Steve Forbes: GOP Will Rise Above Chaos With 'Enormous Stimulant for Economic Growth'

Don’t be discouraged by recent GOP antics, good things will finally come to those who wait, cautions Steve Forbes, editor-in-chief of Forbes Media.

“The disarray among Republicans in the House of Representatives and the reality-TV-show, circuslike atmosphere surrounding the multi-candidate GOP presidential field obscure two heartening developments that bode well for the country after the 2016 elections,” he wrote on Forbes.com.

“First, almost every Republican White House aspirant has put forth a serious plan for drastically changing the federal income tax code in ways that would be an enormous stimulant for economic growth. After seven lean Obama years of economic stagnation this would be rapturously welcome,” he wrote.

Vigil Set For Heroin Victims This Friday In Salisbury

There will be a vigil for heroin addicts and victims this Friday between 7:30 to 9:00 pm at the pavilion near the river walk.

There were some 578 Maryland citizens that died in 2014 from heroin overdoses.

We at Salisbury Mews are trying very hard to educate the public on the heroin problem. We, (along with many other very concerned citizens, business leaders and elected officials) are trying out hardest to get legislation changed to better help these addicts get help immediately, rather then the now standard waiting periods.

Not only does this affect crime locally, it affects our property values in a very big way. The more crime, the less people want to move here. The less people will invest in homes and or bring/start their businesses here.

WE have a stake in this more then you think, or have thought anyway. It's time as a community we come together and hold Law Enforcement Leaders accountable as well. We need to demand better transparency. We need to know, how many people have been arrested. How many have overdosed. Oh sure, it looks really good when they pull someone over in a RENTAL car from Florida heading to New York and arrest them for drug trafficking but what does that do for OUR local drug problems? NOTHING!

We have a problem Ladies & Gentlemen and if you keep putting your heads into the sand your homes will be worth nothing and who benefits from that, slumlords, supported by your elected officials. Heck, some of those elected officials are slumlords themselves. Who's wearing the tin foil hats now!

It truly was your election to lose!

Quilt Show in Mardela Springs Nov. 15

Are You the Owner of a Beautiful Old Quilt or Coverlet?

Quilt Show in Mardela Springs Nov. 15

If you have a treasured old bed covering – quilt, coverlet, counterpane – but would like to learn more about it, we have the program you have been waiting for! Westside Historical Society will offer the sixth program in this year’s Saving Our Traditions series on November 15, Sunday, from 1 to 4 pm at the Mardela Springs Fire Hall in Mardela Springs, this program focusing on old Quilts and Coverlets!

Our expert is Dr. Cindy Byrd, Director of the Julia Purnell Museum in Snow Hill. She will begin with an overview of the skill and art of this traditional form of needlecraft, which in past centuries was practiced by men as well as by women. Dr. Byrd also will offer tips on preservation and protection of these fine old pieces of bedding. Following her remarks she will examine the quilts and other items brought in by those attending, and will offer information and insights regarding each, identifying patterns and pointing out any special features, and finally offering an evaluation. Dr. Byrd has been working with these kinds of textiles for a number of years, and every year at the Purnell Museum produces the very popular fiber festival!

Admission is free, but if you choose to bring in a quilt or other item of bedding – and we hope you will!! – the cost is $10 for each item, limit of three items per person. In addition to offering information / evaluations on the items, Westside Historical Society is beginning to compile a data base of historical textiles and would appreciate visitors allowing us to photograph and gather data on each item (including a description and any information about the maker).

There will be refreshments and the chance to meet and share with other quilt enthusiasts!! A fun day so mark your calendars!! We Didn't "Financially Engineer" Our Way Out Of The Great Depression, We Won A World War

The arms race of devaluation is not free and has come at the cost of massive global debt expansion. There is no precedent in financial history for a robust economic recovery absent either debt reduction or rampant inflation.  We never deleveraged, in fact we just doubled down. According to a recent McKinsey study the world has reached $200 trillion of debt in 2014 (286% of global GDP), which is a staggering 40% increase from 2007 levels (+$57 trillion). In China, debt has grown four times faster than GDP since 2007, and half of that debt is linked to their property market. The world has simply shifted private debt to the public balance sheet.
The private risk transfer to the public balance sheet can also be seen in the evolution of credit default swap pricing since 2007. Notice the sharp divergence between global sovereign CDS (red) and financial corporate CDS (blue) starting in 2013. The next major global crash will likely be driven by unhealthy sovereign credit rather than corporate credit. The next Lehman moment will be the financial collapse of a major developed country instead of a bank.

Lawsuit: Obama Administration Withholding Draft of Clinton Whitewater Indictment

Conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch is suing the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) to obtain copies of a 20-year-old draft indictment against Hillary Clinton for her role in the Whitewater scandal.

In a press release sent to reporters late on Tuesday, Judicial Watch announced its intent to file a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against NARA for withholding an indictment written by Hickman Ewing, Jr., the deputy independent counsel and prosecutor investigating Whitewater, in 1996. The agency admitted it had found the records in March 2015 but is withholding the documents, claiming their release would constitute an unwarranted invasion of Clinton’s privacy.

“Judicial Watch has confirmed the existence of draft indictments of Hillary Clinton for her lies and obstruction in the Whitewater bank-fraud investigation,” the group’s president Tom Fitton wrote in the statement. “The Obama administration is refusing to release these records out of concern for Hillary Clinton’s privacy. Hillary Clinton’s privacy cannot be allowed to trump the public’s interest in knowing more about whether she obstructed justice and lied to a federal grand jury.”

Here Is The Boom: ‘This Is The Time Of Hotels’

OCEAN CITY – There will soon be a lot more beds for tourists to lay their heads as Ocean City is currently experiencing its largest hotel boom in years.

“This is the time of hotels,” said Jeff Thaler, Director of Development for Atlantic Planning Development and Design. “Everything has a time and eventually things run out of time. First it was condos, and before that it was big T-shirt shops and bayfront restaurants. This is definitely the largest hotel boom we’ve seen in a long time in Ocean City.”

Up and down Ocean City’s Coastal Highway, and even along West Ocean City’s Route 50 corridor, you can see that the area is in the midst of another growth spurt, or at the very least, a significant makeover.

Thaler says even before the condominium boom in Ocean City that began in the early 2000’s and abruptly ended when the housing bubble burst in 2007, big name brand or flag hotels were interested in coming to Ocean City, but the price of land was much too high.

Driver Arrested For Texas Motorcycle Crash Has Been In Trouble Before

GRANBURY – A driver in Granbury over the weekend was captured on video swerving into a motorcycle on the road. The bike crashed and left two people injured. William ‘Bill’ Crum claims an insect bite caused him to momentarily lose control of his vehicle, but prosecutors are not buying that story.

CBS 11 uncovered the criminal past of a man who continues to insist that a spider bite forced him to swerve into a motorcyclist and his passenger.

Bill Crum spoke to reporters from the Hood County Jail Tuesday.

“Right there inside my leg,” Crum said showing cameras where he said the spider bit him. “I’m squeezing puss out of it. Maybe it will rot half my leg off and they’ll believe I was actually bit.”

20 Reasons Why All The People That Quit Prepping After September Are Dead Wrong

Millions of Americans were gearing up for some huge event to happen in September, but the world didn’t end and now many of them have given up entirely on prepping. Of course the truth is that some absolutely earth-shattering eventsdid take place last month, but because September did not play out exactly as some were anticipating, a lot of people feel very let down. My contacts in the emergency food industry tell me that sales have dropped off dramatically, and yesterday I was told by someone that I trust that the same is true for those that sell precious metals. But this should not be happening. What we witnessed in August and September was just the warm up act, and all of the numbers are absolutely screaming at us that we are right on track for a major global crisis. In this article I am going to focus on economic and financial issues, but there are so many other things going on around the planet right now that threaten to throw our world into turmoil. Anyone that thinks that it is safe to “relax” now is simply not paying attention. The following are 20 reasons why all the people that quit prepping after September are dead wrong…

#1 U.S. exports are down 11 percent for the year so far. The only other times they have fallen this dramatically since the turn of the century were during the last two recessions.

#2 Since March, the amount of stuff being shipped by truck, rail and air inside the United States has been falling every single month on a year over year basis. This is a clear indication that economic activity is really slowing down.

#3 Wholesale sales in the U.S. have fallen to the lowest level since the last recession.

Three Officers Seek Dismissal Of Assault Charges

With just over a month to go before the first trial is scheduled to begin, three of the six officers accused in the death of Freddie Gray are seeking to have one of the charges against them dismissed.

Officer William Porter, Sgt. Alicia White and Lt. Brian Rice all are seeking to get second degree assault charges dropped.

Attorneys for the three officers are asking Judge Barry Williams hold a hearing on this motion.

In identical motions, their attorneys argue that the charges are based on the officers' to put Gray in a seat belt in the police transport van which they argue is not a crime.

The state argues the assault is based on Gray's injuries were the result of the officers' "gross negligence."

Report Shows Michigan Police Seized Over 23 Million In Property and Cash Last Year

Last month, as the Michigan Senate debated a host of reforms to the state’s civil asset forfeiture laws, the Michigan State Police released its Asset Forfeiture Report, the annual publication required by state law that details Michigan’s drug-related forfeiture activities.
The report aggregates data from 629 local police departments, sheriff’s departments, and multijurisdictional task forces, plus the Michigan State Police. Civil forfeiture is a policy that enables law enforcement authorities to seize property or currency if they suspect it is involved in, or is the result of, a crime.
Americans Have Few Protections in Civil Proceedings
Since forfeiture proceedings are civil, not criminal, property owners are afforded few due process protections. With no presumption of innocence or right to an attorney, innocent property owners fighting the seizure of their homes and life savings face a legal landscape skewed against them in nearly every way possible.

Berlin-Based Excursion Train Operation Could Bring $17M Impact, 72K Riders Per Year, Study Suggests

BERLIN – The creation of an excursion railroad operation in Worcester County could have as much as a $17.6 million impact on the local economy, according to a report released this week.

At Tuesday’s meeting of the Worcester County Commissioners, Randy Gustafson of Stone Consulting went over the potential cost and economic impact of a tourist train in the Berlin area. He stressed that to make money, such an enterprise would have to focus on special event trains, such as a Polar Express ride, in addition to excursion trips.

“I think everybody went into this thinking it would be a reconstruction of the Ocean City Western [railroad},” Gustafson said. “This has part of that in it but bottom line it’s a completely different business.”

Officials have been discussing the possibility of bringing an excursion train, to operate on the Maryland Delaware Railroad Co. line, to the area since last year. In his initial reports, Gustafson outlined a train operation that would provide tourist trips throughout the year as well as several themed rides during the winter on a roughly eight-mile stretch of track. Capital costs associated with that plan, depending on location and length, range from $1.2 million to $3 million.

BREAKING NEWS: US service member killed in Iraq rescue

SALISBURY COCAINE DEALER SENTENCED TO THIRTY YEARS IN PRISON

On October 21, 2015, a Wicomico County jury convicted Bonzie Lee Curtis, Jr., age 40, of Salisbury, Maryland, of possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking offense, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and possession with the intent to distribute cocaine. Following the jury trial, a Wicomico County Circuit Court judge sentenced Curtis to a total sentence of thirty years in the Maryland Division of Corrections. Of this thirty year sentence, twenty years represent a mandatory minimum, non-parole eligible sentence based upon Curtis’ status as a repeat offender.

On March 14, 2015, Officer Brian Barr of the Salisbury Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic infraction. Curtis was the front-seat passenger in this vehicle. A K9 scan was subsequently performed on the vehicle after the officer noted the suspicious behavior of the occupants. The K9 alerted to the presence of a controlled dangerous substance. In addition, officers smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the motor vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed a sawed-off shotgun with one live shotgun shell concealed in a duffle bag which was within Curtis’ reach from the passenger seat. A search of Curtis revealed a significant amount of cocaine as well as six more shotgun shells hidden in a Crown Royal bag in Curtis’ pocket.

Curtis has multiple prior convictions including possession with the intent to distribute a narcotic and illegal possession of a handgun. Curtis also has multiple violations of probation.

Wicomico County State’s Attorney Matthew A. Maciarello commended the Salisbury Police Department for their work in the investigation and prosecution of this case. Mr. Maciarello also thanked James L. Britt who prosecuted Curtis.

The Life and Times of Irwin Schiff

My father Irwin A. Schiff was born Feb. 23rd 1928, the 8th child and only son of Jewish immigrants, who had crossed the Atlantic twenty years earlier in search of freedom. As a result of their hope and courage my father was fortunate to have been born into the freest nation in the history of the world. But when he passed away on Oct. 16th, 2015 at the age of 87, a political prisoner of that same nation, legally blind and shackled to a hospital bed in a guarded room in intensive care, the free nation he was born into had itself died years earlier. – Peter Schiff via LewRockwell.com

Dominant Social Theme: The US is a fair, equitable and just country.

Free-Market Analysis: Irwin Schiff made his reputation trying to debunk and remove the US income tax system. He considered it illegal and immoral and went to jail three times for his beliefs.

We knew him several decades ago. He promised us several "scoops" when he came to New York and then called us one evening from Las Vegas where his apartment was being raided. It might have been the IRS and he exclaimed that they were carrying guns even though this was apparently illegal.

He wasn't really fearful or upset, though he was certainly indignant. But that is the impression that sticks with us – of a happy warrior who was determined to confront a system he considered immoral.

Even when Schiff went to jail for a final time we got the feeling that he relished the battle leading up to his incarceration and was hoping against hope that he would be able to present his evidence in open court. He didn't really get that chance, of course.

When we heard of his death we were sad. When we read his son Peter's article, we moved on from sadness to anger and disgust.

His crusade to force the government to obey the law earned him three prison sentences, the final one being a fourteen-year sentence that he began serving ten years ago, at the age of 77. That sentence turned into a life sentence, as my father failed to survive until his planned 2017 release date.

Goodbye Middle Class: 51 Percent Of All American Workers Make Less Than 30,000 Dollars A Year

In order to have a thriving middle class, you have got to have an economy that produces lots of middle class jobs, and that simply is not happening in America today

We just got more evidence that the middle class in America is dying.

According to brand new numbers that were just released by the Social Security Administration, 51 percent of all workers in the United States make less than $30,000 a year. Let that number sink in for a moment. You can’t support a middle class family in America today on just $2,500 a month – especially after taxes are taken out. And yet more than half of all workers in this country make less than that each month. In order to have a thriving middle class, you have got to have an economy that produces lots of middle class jobs, and that simply is not happening in America today.

Senate Dems BLOCK Anti-sanctuary-city Bill

Senate Democrats on Tuesday blocked a Republican-backed bill that would crack down on so-called sanctuary cities by threatening to withhold funds to local governments that don't cooperate with federal immigration officials.

The bill failed on a 54-45 vote. It needed 60 to advance.

The Stop Sanctuary Cities Act became a lightning rod issue ahead of the vote, as GOP sponsors tried to peel off just a few Democrats to support it while Democratic leaders blasted the legislation as counterproductive. The White House issued a formal veto threat Tuesday morning, while the chamber's top Democrat tried to discredit the measure by calling it "The Donald Trump Act."

But GOP backers cast the legislation as a critical first step toward reining in the exploding, and risky, practice of cities and counties ignoring federal immigration law.

"Sanctuary cities and the associated violent crimes by illegal immigrants are reaching a critical point, and we cannot wait any longer to take action to protect Americans here at home," sponsor Sen. David Vitter, R-La., said in a statement.

BREAKING NEWS: US special ops conducts Iraq rescue raid

Advisers Tell Ireton, Stay Away From Candidate Forums

While the rest of the Salisbury Candidates face the public in forums, Jim Ireton has refused to participate in the majority of forums with the exception of one, the NAACP Forum.

Last night SU held a forum that was covered live from WMDT and once again, Jim Ireton refused to attend or participate.

Many are saying Ireton's biggest fear is being asked, WHAT HAVE YOU ACCOMPLISHED AND WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?

At the liberty of putting words in Jim's mouth, selling Feldman's for $5,000.00. Selling the old Fire Station 16 for $75,000.00. Selling two large parking lots Downtown for $225,000.00. An increase in crime, (FACT) 45 robberies in 2014, 75 robberies in 2015, SO FAR. A trolley to help my friends increase bar business Downtown. I'll let you guys fill in the rest.

Clearly Jim Ireton is too arrogant to show ANY respect towards the voters and believes he has this election in the bag. I'm sure he'll be backed by the Coastal Association of Realtors because Jim has helped created thousands of homes onto the market while residents run for the hills, if they can.

So when you go to the voting booth, keep all of this in mind and just vote for the other guy, period. NO ONE can be any worse then Jim Ireton, nobody.

NYT: 'Bush Bucks' Reveals Half of Jeb's Wealth Comes from Companies He Gave Lucrative Deals as Governor

The New York Times previews Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large Peter Schweizer’s upcoming e-book Bush Bucks, an investigation of crony capitalism revolving around Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush.

From the New York Times:

Since announcing his presidential candidacy in June, Jeb Bush has made clear his distaste for officials who trade on their connections.

He has assailed the revolving-door culture of Washington, calling for “a little bit of a recession” there to thin the ranks of the permanent political class. He has proposed a strict six-year ban on lobbying for departing members of the House and the Senate.

And he has shown little patience for the euphemisms of the Capitol, using derisive air quotes to describe “government relations” and “government affairs” experts.

“It’s easy for elected officials to lay out standards of performance for others,” Mr. Bush said during a July speech in Tallahassee, where he worked for eight years as Florida’s governor. “But what are the high standards worth if they’re not applied to themselves?”

Anne Arundel Police announce bust of 'multi-million dollar' drug operation

Anne Arundel County law enforcement officials gathered in Pasadena on Wednesday to announce what they called a "historic" drug bust that included the seizure of drugs, money, guns and other assets.

The bust, announced at the Eastern District police station, resulted in eight criminal indictments. Police called it a "multi-million dollar per year sophisticated drug distribution operation."

While police said it is unclear how long the group had been operating, the investigation lasted eight months and included extensive undercover and surveillance work. It resulted in seizures from homes in Glen Burnie, Millersville and Arnold.

Investigators seized more than 3 kilograms of heroin with a street value of $360,000, along with 1.5 kilograms of cocaine with a street value of $150,000, police said. In addition, 394 capsules of heroin were seized with a street value of $3,940.

Raising Taxes -- 'Fair Share' & the Rich

What Democrats Mean by ‘Paying Your Fair Share’

At the recent televised debate among candidates for the Democrats’ nomination for president, Hillary Clinton declared that “the wealthy pay too little” in taxes and “the middle class pays too much.”

Some people might wish to argue about whether that is true or not, but no rational argument can be made on either side of this issue, because the words used are completely undefined. Nor is Hillary Clinton the only one who talks this way.

It is one of the many signs of the mindlessness of our times that all sorts of people declare that “the rich” are not paying their “fair share” in taxes, without telling us concretely what they mean by either “the rich” or “fair share.”

Whether in politics or in the media, words are increasingly used, not to convey facts or even allegations of facts, but simply to arouse emotions. Undefined words are a big handicap in logic, but they are a big plus in politics, where the goal is not clarity but victory — and the votes of gullible people count just as much as the votes of people who have common sense.

What a “fair share” of taxes means in practice is simply “more.” No matter how high the tax rate is on people with a given income, you can always raise the tax rate further by saying that they are still not paying their “fair share.”

Harry Reid Backs Paul Ryan For Speaker

Turns out rank-and-file Republicans aren’t the only ones clamoring for Rep. Paul Ryan to become the next House speaker.

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid says the former vice presidential candidate from Wisconsin would be his pick, too.

“I’m a Paul Ryan fan,” Mr. Reid, Nevada Democrat, said during a press availability Tuesday.

His remarks had many wondering if the veteran lawmaker was trying to sow more dissension in the GOP ranks.

Prompted by a reporter, Mr. Reid seemed to acknowledge that his endorsement of Mr. Ryan would make him less attractive to certain Republicans.

“You speak the truth,” he said.

Mr. Reid said Mr. Ryan, the Ways and Means Committee chairman who’s been mum about whether he’ll reverse course and pursue the speaker post, is the most “reasonable” candidate among those interested in replacing Speaker John A. Boehner, Ohio Republican who planned to step down Oct. 30 but has agreed to stay on until the GOP conference picks his successor.

NJ lawmakers run from $194 billion liability for employee benefits

With an election for New Jersey Assembly two weeks away, the numbers don’t look good for the fiscal reform urgently needed in Trenton.

The staggering $194 billion liability for public employee pension and health benefits is seldom debated in campaigns for the 80 Assembly seats up for grabs on Nov. 3.

The status quo is a 47-32 advantage for Democrats over Republicans with one seat vacant – a balance not likely to change much. The incumbents have outspent challengers $10 million to $2.2 million, according to a report by a New Jersey election commission.

Even more lopsided, incumbents enjoyed a 10-to-1 cash-on-hand advantage – $5.2 million to $496,000 – over their opponents, as of Oct. 2.

A Winning Issue for Republicans

With so much time spent and ink spilled over who will carry the banner for the GOP both in the presidential campaign and now for new House speaker, perhaps the real question is not who, but what is a winner. Some new survey data suggests an unorthodox issue might help Republicans attract voters who have been elusive to the center-right, and help the party re-establish its law-abiding, anti-crony moorings with its base.

The polling company, inc./WomanTrend added questions on behalf of Independent Women’s Voice to a nationwide omnibus survey of 1,015 American adults, conducted Oct. 1-4. The survey used live callers, and was composed of 50 percent landline interviews and 50 percent cellphone interviews.

You may recall that when Congress passed Obamacare, it required its members and their staffs to enroll in the health care exchanges just like any other American.

However, after Obamacare became law, members of Congress and their staffs were granted a special exemption from this requirement that does two things: It exempts some staff entirely, and it provides members and staff, regardless of income, with up to a 75 percent subsidy for their health insurance costs, something which would be illegal for any other American to receive or business to provide.

So we asked respondents if they thought that members of Congress and their staffs should be required to enroll in Obamacare?

A 70.7 percent majority of Americans say yes.

Regional Biking Initiatives Picking Up Momentum With OC, Berlin, Salisbury Putting More Focus On ‘Red-Headed Step Child Of Transportation’

OCEAN CITY – The quest to connect many of the region’s neighborhoods and communities with safe bike lanes may still be slow, but advocates believe both support and progress is picking up speed and momentum.

The term “walkable/bikeable” has become not just a community buzz word in places like Berlin and Salisbury, but it’s also become a statewide initiative, with Governor Larry Hogan recently announcing a $14.9 million grant program focused on bicycle, pedestrian and multi-use trails across the state that would create a “more balanced transportation network.”

The Maryland Bikeways Program, which is administered by the Maryland Department of Transportation, offers grant assistance to local jurisdictions and other key agencies to help expedite the development of bicycle infrastructure where transportation efficiencies, multimodal travel, economic development and safety benefits are expected.

Essentially, that means municipalities now have financial incentive and, perhaps more importantly, a way to get that money, in order to improve communities to cater not only to the people who ride bicycles as a form of recreation, but also create safe routes for a growing number of its residents who are biking as a form of transportation.

State Police Helicopter Crew Rescues Victim From Cliff In Washington Co.

A Maryland State Police helicopter crew performed a hoist rescue off of Maryland Heights Overlook in Washington County on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 21, 2015. Shortly after 12:00 p.m., the Maryland State Police Helicopter Dispatch Center (SYSCOM) received a call from the Washington County 911 Center regarding an injured person on the Maryland Heights Overlook . The remote location and steep terrain precluded a timely extrication by ground.

The crew of Trooper 3, based at Frederick Municipal Airport, was dispatched and immediately began preparing for a hoist rescue. Once overhead, an aerial reconnaissance was conducted and the crew determined the best method of extraction was to deploy a State Police trooper/rescue technician with rescue equipment to the patient on the cliff.

After positioning the aircraft over the cliff at an altitude of approximately 60 feet, a State Police trooper/rescue technician was lowered onto the top of the cliff to assess the situation. Ground rescue teams from the Hagerstown Fire Department and the Potomac Valley Fire Department worked diligently using a stokes basket to remove the patient from a crevasse to an area that was safe enough to perform an aerial hoist.

The patient was retrieved from the cliff using the aerial hoist, moved to the aircraft cabin and transported to Frederick Memorial Hospital. State Police trooper/flight paramedics administered advanced life support care during air transport to the hospital.

The Maryland State Police Aviation Command operates a fleet of 10, Augusta-Westland AW139, helicopters based out of seven sections throughout the state. This mission is a clear demonstration of the multi-mission capability these aircraft provide to our allied public safety partners and the citizens of Maryland.
