Obama vetoes Defense authorization bill, puts pay raise in limbo

The president has vetoed the fiscal 2016 Defense Authorization bill.

President Barack Obama rejected the legislation Thursday afternoon, saying the bill "resorts to gimmicks," reports the Associated Press.

The $612 billion legislation included a 1.3 percent pay raise for service members, introduced a new retirement system and overhaul of the acquisition process.
