A lot has been revealed in the past week about Ahmed Mohammad, the Texas student who was arrested for having a clock he allegedly built mistaken for a bomb. We now know that the famous picture of Ahmed in handcuffs was only able to be taken because his father asked for Ahmed to be re-handcuffed for the photograph, and that he didn’t even build a clock, he took apart an existing clock and put in inside a pencil box. It’s almost as if the media jumped to report on any story that could further the “Islamaphobia” narrative.
The story is suspicious for a number of reasons. As Shark Tank star Mark Cuban stated on a recent Bill Maher appearance, he had spoken to Ahmed over the phone, but also said he said could hear Ahmed’s sister “over his shoulder… listening to the question, giving him the answer.” And his sister is of relevance here, because she has an interesting past of her own. Boehner Will Rely on Democrats to Pass CR
House Speaker John Boehner said on CBS’s "Face the Nation" that there will be no government shutdown—thus signaling that the House of Representatives he will lead until the end of next month will not send the Senate a continuing resolution that Democrats there would filibuster because it prohibits funding of Planned Parenthood or that President Barack Obama would veto for the same reason.
In response to a follow-up question from host John Dickerson, Boehner said he was "sure" the funding bill he will put through the Republican-majority House will need Democratic votes to pass.
The law currently funding the government will expire on Wednesday, the last day of fiscal 2015.
Dickerson of CBS asked Boehner: “Four days, the government runs out of money. Is there going to be a shutdown?”
“No,” said Boehner.

Fenwick Council Votes 5-2 To Approve Motel Zoning Code Change; Some Residents Worried Over Precedent For Other Properties
FENWICK ISLAND – In spite of concerns raised by residents, a local developer’s plans to replace the aging Sands Motel are moving forward.
The Fenwick Island Town Council voted 5-2 last week to approve the first reading of an ordinance that would permit developer Spiro Buas to replace the Sands Motel with a larger hotel.
“The Sands is in bad condition,” said Councilman Bill Weistling. “This gives the opportunity to build a new hotel equivalent to the two existing ones.”
Since Buas purchased the motel this spring, he’s been working with the town’s charter and ordinance committee to explore potential zoning code changes that would enable him to replace the 38-room motel with a bigger facility. The town’s existing zoning code allows one room per 1,000 square feet and does not allow for a motel to have more than 65 rooms. The Sands Motel property is 39,000 square feet.

Why Did Boehner REALLY Resign?
Early Friday, a very unexpected thing happened in Washington, D.C.: A sitting House speaker, the third person in line for the Oval Office, suddenly announced that he was leaving Congress at the end of next month.
For conservatives, the exit of Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio, is welcome news. With a "rating" well below that of most rank-and-file Republicans in the GOP-controlled House, he was seen as one of the biggest reasons why the party's base has long been frustrated by his leadership, and the biggest impediment to pressing a conservative political agenda.
But the pressing question is why? Why would the third-most powerful man in government, behind the president and vice president, up and quit? It's a question that has been swirling ever since Boehner made his surprise announcement. But one possible explanation is that the 13-term congressman and speaker has been threatened or compromised – or both – by the regime in power.
Yes, we know. That sounds like a huge conspiracy theory. But consider what Boehner has done during his tenure – and what he's about to do before he leaves office on Oct. 30.
To wit:
-- Boehner – and to an equal extent, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. – has been instrumental in ensuring that President Obama's left-wing "fundamental transformation" agenda has been implemented or, at a bare minimum, at least not opposed.

The Collapse of American Education Continues
Many Americans are aware that the nation's public education system is bloated, expensive and incompetent, turning out millions of high school graduates who can't read, write or speak well, cannot accurately recite U.S. history, and know very little about civics and government. As a result, more and more Americans are pulling their children out of public schools and either placing them in private secular or religious schools or home-schooling them.
That hasn't traditionally been the case for wealthier Americans, however. For years, most of them have avoided sending their children to public schools, opting instead to send them to pricey, exclusive private schools where they presumably received better educations than their public school counterparts.
All of that seems to be changing now. As reported by CNBC, the wealthy are increasingly pulling their kids out of private schools and opting instead to hire private tutors for in-home instruction.
As the financial news network reported, part of the reason appears to be that competition at elite schools is becoming more fierce – so much so that even an exclusive private education won't adequately prepare the children of the elite...

KERRY, HILLARY, KENNEDYS OFFER SANCTUARY TO ‘REFUGEES’ — IN YOUR TOWN, NOT THEIRS
BOSTON – National Democrats have been vocal lately about their desire to resettle hundreds of thousands more “Syrian refugees” in the United States. Yet not one of these ostentatiously compassionate statesmen has offered any of the huddled masses yearning to breath free refuge on their own fabulously posh estates.
The list of multi-millionaire Democrats lecturing the American people on their “duty” is lengthy — Hillary Clinton, John Forbes Kerry, the Kennedys and former House speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA)
Some big-city and university-town mayors have offered to allow the Arabs to settle in their communities. But the Democrats’ trust-funded grandees with their multiple vacation homes and private jets are conspicuous by their silence, even as they piously claim to feel the pain of the Syrian refugees — most of whom are neither Syrian nor refugees.
Secretary of State Kerry announced last week that by 2017 the U.S. would admit an additional 30,000 “refugees” a year, for a total of 100,000.

Jeb Bush: 'I Admire John Boehner Greatly'
(CNSNews) - Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, asked for his reaction to the resignation of John Boehner, had good things to say about the House Speaker:
"We'll have to see how it plays out," Bush told "Fox News Sunday" with Chris Wallace. "I admire John Boehner greatly. He's a great public servant. He left at the apex of his--of his time in service to this--to the country, with the Pope speaking in Congress.
"I think people are going to miss him in the long run, because he's a -- he's a person that is focused on solving problems."
Asked if Boehner's departure is good or bad for conservatives," Bush said he's not sure.

Watch as Single Anti-Trump Protester’s Plan to Mock Donald Trump Literally Falls Apart
A woman attempted to deliver a gigantic bouquet of yellow dahlias, the national flower of Mexico, to Donald Trump in protest, but there was just one problem — the revolving doors of Trump Tower in New York City.
In footage obtained by celebrity gossip site TMZ, Estefani Mercedes struggled to carry 1,000 of the yellow flowers into the building and proceeded to drop and step on many of the blossoms. At one point she asked any of the people who stood around watching her if they could help her pick up the dahlias.
Eventually, the edited footage showed Mercedes with a man in a suit whom TMZ identified as one of Trump’s security officers picking up the flowers and putting them into a large clear trash bag as two other men in suits stand nearby. One of the men takes the bag away as another man hands her the one flower left.
“You can keep this one,” he said.

Obama: 'Gay' Trumps Religion in Constitution
President Obama, who has been trying to reframe the Constitution’s protection of religious rights to the narrower “freedom to worship” rather than “freedom of religion” went a step further over the weekend in an address to a homosexual festival.
He said at the Democratic National Committee’s LGBT Gala in New York that the Constitution’s protections for “gay” rights trump the protection for religious rights.
“We affirm that we cherish our religious freedom and are profoundly respectful of religious traditions,” he said. ‘But we also have to say clearly that our religious freedom doesn’t grant us the freedom to deny our fellow Americans their constitutional rights.”
Obama said that “even as we are respectful and accommodating of genuine concerns and interests of religious institutions, we need to reject politicians who are supporting new forms of discrimination as a way to scare up votes.”
“That’s not how we move America forward,” he said.

Amazon's Baltimore warehouse has 3,000 workers. Here's what it's like.
Amazon.com Inc.'s hulking fulfillment center off Broening Highway is filled with the dull roar of 16 miles of conveyer belts shuttling packages throughout the more than 1-million-square-foot warehouse.
The fulfillment center, which opened in March, has already blown away the company's initial employment estimate of 1,000 staffers, and Amazon is still hiring, said Mike Thomas, the center's general manager.
The site employs more than 3,000 full-time workers, who get full benefits and, after one year's employment, tuition assistance for college classes that can be unrelated to their Amazon position, Thomas said during a Monday tour of the warehouse, which will hold its official grand opening Tuesday.

‘Deadwalkers’ Are Among Us
You have seen the zombie-like creatures walking among us. In fact, you may be one of them, hustling along with your eyes fixated on that tiny screen that rests in the palm of your hand.
Americans overwhelmingly think this is okay. It’s not.
“It’s just really dangerous,” said Deborah Hersman, who heads the National Safety Council and is former chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board. “Everybody walking down the sidewalk either has their headphones on or is looking down at their phone. It’s a sad commentary on our society when you look at how distracted people are.”
By now, everyone knows that talking or texting while driving can get you killed. But the fact that 3,154 people died and an estimated 424,000 were hurt in 2013 is evidence that a great many people are willing to ignore the advice to keep their attention on the road.
“Some data suggests that at any given moment on the streets of America, 60 percent of pedestrians are distracted while walking, meaning either on the phone or doing something on their phone,” said Alan S. Hilibrand of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. “It’s a bit of a startling number.”
“We’ve had people come into the emergency room who were hit by cars,” he said. “They’re looking at their phone and not paying attention to the fact that a vehicle is making a turn.”

RPT: DEA Agents Kept Jobs After Serious Misconduct, Including Handing Out Drugs
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration has allowed its employees to stay on the job despite internal investigations that found they committed serious misconduct, according to newly disclosed records.
The records show that since 2010, agents have escaped with warnings or suspensions after falsifying records, misusing government vehicles while drunk, lying to authorities, associating with criminals, failing drug tests and even distributing drugs.
Of the 50 employees the DEA's Board of Professional Conduct recommended be fired following misconduct investigations, only 13 were actually terminated, the records show.

Is Obamacare Officially A Money Laundering Scheme?
Could the failed Obamacare exchanges have been merely an excuse to direct payola to safely Democratic states? Based on a new report from the Government Accountability Office, and the actions of acting head of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Studies (CMS) Andrew Slavitt, the answer may well be yes.
Let’s start with the report. Americans for Tax Reform summarized its findings:
In all likelihood, officials were aware of the issues facing these states before exchanges launched. According to GAO, CMS conducted reviews on 15 state-based exchanges in August and September of 2013. […]
Even though these tests found multiple issues related to the functionality of state exchanges, CMS passed all states. GAO’s report notes several examples where CMS found a state to have severe operational deficiencies ahead of launch, yet officials ultimately ignored these findings. GAO found documentation revealing that officials were aware that Maryland’s exchange had 100 “outstanding high-priority defects” and almost 500 defects in total, while Massachusetts had reported 1,170 defects.
As the report concludes, these problems were so severe in four states (Massachusetts, Maryland, Nevada, and Oregon) that these exchanges had to rely on alternative ways to enroll customers during the first enrollment season.[…]
While several exchanges have already defaulted back to the federal system, and many others have been characterized by severe operational problems and inept management, GAO reports that just over $1 million of the $4.5 billion of taxpayer money [spent on exchange grants] has been returned to the federal government.
Got that? The Federal government spent $4.5 billion on grants to states building their exchange programs. And despite some states demonstrably failing to use that money, like Maryland ($125 million price tag) and Oregon (over $300 million price tag), the Federal government has only managed to recover $1 million of it.
Under any other circumstances, it would be easy to chalk this up to traditional Obama-administration style incompetence. However, to do so would be to miss the details of how the Obama administration has conducted recouping its funds. As David Catron at The American Spectator reports:

First trial in Freddie Gray case set for Nov. 30; 5 more in early 2016
BALTIMORE (AP) -- The first trial for six Baltimore police officers charged in the death of Freddie Gray will be held Nov. 30, and the other trials are set for early next year.
Judge Barry Williams decided Tuesday that Officer William Porter will go on trial first. He is accused of failing to provide or request medical care for Gray and not securing him safely in a van. Porter faces charges of manslaughter, assault, reckless endangerment and misconduct in office in the death of Gray, a black man who died after being injured in police custody.
Prosecutors said they intend to call Porter as a witness against at least two other officers.
The judge ruled earlier this month that each officer will get his or her own trial and that they will be held in the city.

Sex For Repairs Scandal In Baltimore City Public Housing Complex
A handyman and supervisor for the Baltimore City Housing Authority routinely and systematically withheld necessary repairs from women who refused to have sex with them, creating a hostile environment and culture of fear in public housing complexes in the city, according to a lawsuit filed in federal court.
The lawsuit, filed on behalf of seven women living in public housing units in Baltimore, alleges the housing authority failed to address repeated complaints about a supervisor and a handyman who allegedly preyed on women living in squalid conditions in the housing units, offering repairs in exchange for sex. The suit alleges the men would withhold repairs from those who refused their advances, forcing them instead to live with rodent and insect infestations, dangerous mold, exposed wires and peeling paint.
While most of the alleged abuse took place in the Gilmor Homes, a housing complex in West Baltimore where Freddie Gray lived before he died, the men were sometimes dispatched to other complexes and would victimize women there, the lawsuit says.

Islam – The Key Tenets of Sharia
The following are some of the most important—and, particularly for Western non-Muslims, deeply problematic—tenets of sharia, arranged in alphabetical order. The citations for these findings are drawn from the Koran, schools of Islam and other recognized sources are offered as illustrative examples of the basis for such practices under sharia.
1. Abrogation (‘Al-mansukh wa al-nasikh’ in Arabic—the abrogated and the abrogating): Verses that come later in the Koran, chronologically, supersede, or abrogate, the earlier ones. In effect, this results in the more moderate verses of the Meccan period being abrogated by the later, violent, Medinan period.
2. Adultery (‘Zina’ in Arabic): Unlawful intercourse is a capital crime under sharia, punishable by lashing and stoning to death.
3. Apostasy (‘Irtidad’ or ‘Ridda’ in Arabic): The established ruling of sharia is that apostates are to be killed wherever they may be found.
4. Democracy & Islam: Any system of man-made law is considered illicit under Islamic law, for whose adherents Allah already has provided the only law permitted, sharia. Islam and democracy can never co-exist in harmony.
5. Female Genital Mutilation.

White-Tailed Deer Mating Season Can Present Hazard to Drivers
As the leaves begin to change and the days become shorter, the white-tailed deer population will enter into the mating season, or “the rut.” The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) is advising motorists to use heightened awareness of deer crossings and regions where there are known deer populations.
“Although a vehicle/deer collision can occur anytime of the year, these incidents are more prevalent during the mating season,” said SHA Administrator Gregory C. Johnson, P.E. “Deer populations are increasing and not just in rural areas. Sightings of deer in residential areas are increasing, so please use extreme caution, follow the posted speed limit and avoid distractions.”
Here are some tips for limiting a chance of a vehicle-deer collision:

Obama Warns Christians: Gay Rights More Important Than Religious Freedom
As Pope Francis flew back to Rome, President Obama issued a stern warning to Christians, warning them their attempts to assert their religious liberty to oppose gay rights would fail.
“We affirm that we cherish our religious freedom and are profoundly respectful of religious traditions,” he insisted during a dramatic speech at a LGTB fundraiser in New York City on Sunday night, praising the progress made on gay rights under his administration. “But we also have to say clearly that our religious freedom doesn’t grant us the freedom to deny our fellow Americans their constitutional rights.”
The fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee was specifically billed as an “LGBT gala” held in New York City in coordination with Obama’s trip to the United Nations Assembly.
During his speech, Obama asserted that his administration was respecting what he described as “genuine concerns” of religious institutions but suggested that Republicans were using the issue just to earn more votes, as they did in 2004.
“America has left the leaders of the Republican Party behind,” he declared proudly.

Democrats In Maryland Want Hogan To Fund Planned Parenthood
The Honorable Lawrence J. Hogan
Governor
100 State Circle
Annapolis, Maryland 21401
Dear Governor Hogan:
Your office has said repeatedly that you are eager to put partisanship aside and get things done.
We are watching the Republican-controlled Congress take the federal government to the brink of a shutdown over federal funding of Planned Parenthood, and we are concerned that General Assembly Republicans have drawn inspiration from the dysfunction your office so often condemns.
Please take a public stand against these fringe tactics and commit now to funding Planned Parenthood in your FY2017 budget.
Hear the Beep Where You Sleep
Ocean City Fire Department Reminds Worcester County Residents:
Hear the Beep Where You Sleep. Every Bedroom Needs a Working Smoke Alarm!
OCEAN CITY, MARYLAND – : Location matters when it comes to your smoke alarm. That’s the message behind the 2015 Fire Prevention Week campaign, “Hear the Beep Where You Sleep. Every Bedroom Needs a Working Smoke Alarm!”
Along with firefighters and safety advocates nationwide, the Ocean City Fire Department is joining forces with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) during Fire Prevention Week. The purpose of Fire Prevention Week, which is held October 4-10, is to remind local residents about the importance of having working smoke alarms in every bedroom, outside each sleeping area, and on every level of the home, including the basement.
“Seconds count in a fire,” said David Hartley, Fire Marshal for the Town of Ocean City. “Half of home fire deaths result from fires reported at night between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. when most people are asleep. Home smoke alarms can alert people to a fire before it spreads, giving everyone enough time to get out.”
According to NFPA research, working smoke alarms cut the chance of dying in a fire in half. Meanwhile, three out of five fire deaths resulted from fires in homes with no smoke alarms or no working smoke alarms.
This year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign includes the following smoke alarm messages:
- Install smoke alarms in every bedroom, outside each separate sleeping area and on every level of the home, including the basement.
- Test alarms at least monthly by pushing the test button.
- Replace all smoke alarms when they are 10 years old or sooner if they don’t respond properly.
- Make sure everyone in the home knows the sound of the smoke alarm and understands what to do when they hear it.
- If the smoke alarm sounds, get outside and stay outside. Go to your outside meeting place.
- Call the fire department from outside the home.
The Ocean City Fire Department will be hosting activities during Fire Prevention Week at local elementary schools to promote “Hear the Beep Where You Sleep. Every Bedroom Needs a Working Smoke Alarm!” Through these educational activities, students will learn about the importance of having a working smoke alarm in every bedroom. To learn more about smoke alarms and “Hear the Beep Where You Sleep. Every Bedroom Needs a Working Smoke Alarm!” visit NFPA’s Web site at www.firepreventionweek.org and www.sparky.org/fpw.
Emergency Responders Make Multiple Rescues Due to Dangerous Rip Currents
OCEAN CITY, MARYLAND – (September 29, 2015): Treacherous surf conditions resulted in an afternoon scare in Ocean City yesterday, September 28. Despite public advisories to stay out of the surf until spring, first responders made multiple rescues for swimmers in distress.
Emergency personnel from Ocean City fire, beach patrol and police departments responded to 33rd Street and the beach at approximately 4:15 p.m. for a reported water rescue in progress. According to witnesses who contacted Ocean City Communications, two children were swimming and became caught in a rip current. Moments later, four adult males rushed to the aid of the children, but found themselves also in distress.
Within minutes of the call, numerous first responders arrived and brought all six swimmers back to shore. Five victims, including the children, were transported to Atlantic General Hospital by Ocean City EMS and were later released. One adult male victim was transported, via Maryland State Police helicopter, to Baltimore Shock Trauma in stable condition.
“This was a frightening incident and an alarming example of why you should not swim without a lifeguard on duty,” commented Ocean City Emergency Services Director, Joseph Theobald. “The ocean is unpredictable and the current conditions are dangerous for even the strongest swimmers.”
The Ocean City Beach Patrol is off duty until May 2016. Residents and visitors are reminded to never go in the ocean without the supervision of a lifeguard and knowledge of the current conditions. “We are urging people to not take the risk and stay out of the water in all circumstances,” Theobald continued. “In other words, the beach patrol is off duty so do not swim. Period.”

College student ‘murdered’ in 1984 found living in Germany
A woman who disappeared 31 years ago in Germany and was registered dead after a man confessed to her murder, was found two weeks ago living in Dusseldorf, the International Business Times reported.
In 1984, Petra Pazsitka, a 24-year-old computer science student, failed to show up at her brother’s birthday celebration, setting off a massive police search. Pazsitka was living in student housing at the time in the German city of Braunschweig.
Detectives elicited help from a popular German crime show called “Aktenzeichen XY,” and later a suspect in the rape and murder of a 14-year-old girl confessed to killing Pazsitka, according to NBC News.

Virginia teacher put on leave for saying N-word during class
An online petition has gathered more than 1,300 signatures on behalf of a popular Virginia high school teacher who was kicked out of the classroom earlier this month for using a racial slur.
The petition claims history teacher Lynne Pierce, who is white, did nothing wrong when she uttered the “N-word” during a discussion with her students at Heritage High School in Newport News about racism, derogatory terms and the nickname of the Washington Redskins. Heritage is 90 percent black.
“She is a history teacher, she cannot be censored for teaching terms and beliefs that people had throughout history,” the petition says.
Pierce, a teacher for 40 years, landed in hot water Sept. 18 when a student in her Advance Placement U.S. History class brought up the Redskins and asked her what was the big deal.
"The kids kept saying, 'It's no big deal, it's a football team,'” Pierce told the Newport News Daily Press Thursday. “I said, 'How would you feel if people had a team named after another group?'"
WTKR-TV reported Thursday that Pierce then said to the class, “What would you think if someone started a team called the Newport News N----r?”

The collapse of American education continues as rich families pull their kids out of private schools
(NaturalNews) Many Americans are aware that the nation's public education system is bloated, expensive and incompetent, turning out millions of high school graduates who can't read, write or speak well, cannot accurately recite U.S. history, and know very little about civics and government.
As the financial news network reported, part of the reason appears to be that competition at elite schools is becoming more fierce – so much so that even exclusive private educations won't adequately prepare the children of the elite:
As most children return to school, many affluent families are choosing to pull their children out of the mainstream education system altogether in favor of having a tutor at home – particularly as competition for places at the most prestigious schools heats up.
The need for full-time tutoring

Scheduling Hearing Today For Officers Charged In Freddie Gray Death
We should find out by the end of the day whether the trials of the six officers accused in the death of Freddie Gray will go off as scheduled.
Judge Barry Williams calling prosecutors and the six defense teams into court for a scheduling hearing this afternoon.
The first trial is scheduled to begin October 13, but that is likely to be delayed.
All six defense teams sent the judge a letter last week noting that there were issues related to discovery, and evidence turned over by the prosecution, that could lead some or all of the defense teams to ask for a delay.

Ousted Volkswagen CEO Might Still Get $67M Payday, Plus Company Car
If I got fired — sorry, had to resign — from a CEO job because my company’s stock value had tanked in the middle of a worldwide product recall scandal, the most I’d expect to walk away with is my fancy CEO nameplate and the framed picture of my teacup basset hound “Drooly” that I keep on my desk. But the recently exiled CEO of Volkswagen could be wiping away his tears with a payout worth upwards of $67 million.
The Wall Street Journal reports that Martin Winterkorn, who stepped down from his gig atop the German automaker yesterday, already had about $33 million in his VW pension at the end of 2014. And according to the company’s annual report, there’s a severance payout rule that pays up to two years worth of their total annual remuneration.
That could mean another $34 million for Winterkorn, that is if the VW board says so. There is also the promise of a company car. We have some suggestions for some “clean diesel” models he should consider.

Smoke and Mirrors: Numerous Facts Prove US is Sinking in Poverty
28 percent of all Americans do not have a single cent of savings in case of emergency
Many people are still viewing the United States as a country where most of the population lives in prosperity. However, “The Economic Collapse Blog” released a number of facts that prove that the economic situation in United States is far from ideal.
Many people want to go to America in search of better life and to fulfill their dreams. However, the United States that was once seen as a stronghold of freedom and numerous opportunities has turned into a place where financial elites run the show and turn the country into their personal private army, Marco Maier wrote in Contra Magazine.
The money is being invested into the military apparatus and the intelligence services so that a small upper class can advance its international business. The majority of the population, however, is increasingly sinking in misery, the journalist argued.
Maier referred to “The Economic Collapse Blog” to prove his point of view and cited a number of facts that demonstrate the poor economic situation in the United States.

Coastal Style Magazine Hosts Their "Best Of" Party At Seacrets
Talk about a packed house! This event was so huge, people had to find parking away from the Seacrets parking lot.
Jon & Erin Westman, (hosts above) truly know how to throw a party. The food was to die for and there was plenty of it. Samples were provided by an incredible selection of "Best Of" winners throughout the entire Eastern Shore.
The Bands were very enjoyable but most of all the people there all had smiles on their faces and were clearly having a great time.
On Va. island where wild ponies roam, government wants changes that worry residents
CHINCOTEAGUE ISLAND, Va. — Less than 200 miles from the nation’s capital, in a place so remote that ponies run wild, the tug of the tide is rivaled only by the pull of the federal government.
Commercial shellfish farmers still inhabit the waters of the adjacent Assateague Island National Seashore, harvesting millions of clams and oysters annually before shipping them off to wholesalers and restaurants. And vacationers still bask in the tranquility of Assateague Island’s beach, home to panoramic sunset views, a forest full of warblers and horned owls, and perhaps most important, up to 1,000 parking spots right by the shoreline.
But now two powerful federal agencies want to change — or, obliterate, depending on which “Teaguer” is talking — the delicate arrangement. The National Park Service wants to wind down commercial fishing in Assateague’s waters for an unspecified period that could be, in the agency’s words, “as long as a generation.” And the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service wants to relocate Assateague’s popular-yet-eroding beach to higher ground about 1 1/2 miles north, depriving swimmers of gorgeous views of the Atlantic Ocean and, to the west, Tom’s Cove.

“Tripwire Alert” – Evidence Now Exists To Show Benefit Of GOPe Road-mapped “Splitter Strategy”….
The RNC is the Republican National Committee – or, put another way, the entire construct of the professional Republican Establishment and those who derive benefit/affiliation from the entity therein, the business end. (National, State and regional political entities; polling consultants, campaign consultants, committee employees, etc). The RNC gets the politician elected to Washington DC.
The GOP, or GOP(e), is the financial class or group of financiers who pay the RNC and derive benefit from the policy creation within Washington DC. Wall Street banks and banking interests, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, K-Street Lobbyists, etc. are all part of the machine that tells the politicians what to do.
In essence, the RNC is the Board of Directors, the GOP are the company officers, and the politicians are the employees. John Boehner and Mitch McConnell are the managers. Put them all together and you have the RNC/GOPe.
In this example “We The People”, or “the electorate”, are the customers, forced to buy -through the monopoly- their product offerings, whatever they present, every 2 to 4 years.
Got it? Good. Now here we go:

Congress and the Fed Refuse to Learn From Their Mistakes
This month marks the seventh anniversary of the bursting of the housing bubble and the subsequent economic meltdown. The mood in Congress following the meltdown resembled the panicked atmosphere that followed the September 11th attacks. As was the case after September 11th, Congress rushed to pass hastily written legislation that, instead of dealing with the real causes of the crisis, simply gave the government more power.
Just as few understood the role our interventionist foreign policy played in the September 11th attacks, few in Congress understood that the 2008 meltdown was caused by the Federal Reserve and Congress, not by unregulated capitalism. Not surprising to anyone familiar with economic history, the story of the 2008 meltdown starts with the bursting of the Fed-created tech bubble.
Following the collapse of the tech bubble, the Fed began aggressively pumping money into the economy. This money flooded into the housing market, creating the housing bubble. The Bush Administration and the Republican Congress also added fuel to the housing bubble. These so-called "free-market" conservatives expanded federal housing programs in hopes of creating an "ownership society."

Avian flu’s impact on poultry farm biosecurity in China
Cargill’s broiler farms in China provide an example of how the threat of avian influenza is altering biosecurity practices around the globe.
Poultry health experts predict that the H5 and H7 strains of avian influenza that have caused outbreaks in domesticated poultry operations on four continents may be carried by migrating birds for a number of years.
China has been at the center of the worldwide avian influenza situation for more than a decade, but it also is the world’s largest consumer market for animal protein. When Cargill began planning to build a modern broiler complex in China, the company was aware that taking effective measures to mitigate the risk posed by avian influenza needed to be an integral part of its plans. On a recent visit to the Anhui province of China, I saw firsthand how biosecurity practices on poultry farms have been ramped up.
Biosecurity at the poultry farm gate
My visit to a Cargill broiler farm located north of Chuzhou, a city of 3 million people that is about 200 miles northwest of Shanghai, began by staying away from any poultry or poultry facility for 14 days prior to my trip. While visiting the farm, we left our car outside the perimeter fence that surrounds the farm. Only essential vehicles, like chick trucks and feed trucks, enter the farm, and these vehicles pass through a truck wash immediately as they pass through the gate.
After passing through the gate at Cargill’s poultry farms in China, all trucks entering the poultry farm go through a truck wash.
Shower in shower out
After entering the farm through the locked gate, you take off your shoes and put on farm boots. You then walk through a disinfecting “tunnel” with a long dip pan. Then you enter a building where you sign a visitor log and conduct some sanitizing steps. First you sanitize your bare hands with wipes, then you use cotton swabs dipped in a sanitizing solution to swab out your nostrils and ears. Next, you rinse out your mouth with a disinfecting mouthwash and then leave the building and head for the showers.
Army Corps Eyes Long-Term Inlet Dredging Plan; Chronic Shoaling Confirmed As Major Problem
OCEAN CITY — The federal Army Corps of Engineers (ACE) on Monday announced it has recognized the urgent need for a long-term solution to the chronic shoaling of the Inlet and has agreed to embark on an ambitious dredging plan.
Delegate Mary Beth Carozza (R-38C), who represents Ocean City and Worcester County, announced on Monday the Army Corps of Engineers has responded to the community’s request that actions be taken to address the increased shoaling in the Inlet and the navigation channels around the commercial harbor. In a letter to Carozza, Army Corps Baltimore District Commander Colonel Edward Chamberlayne recognized and agreed with the urgent need to resolve the continual shoaling situation in the Ocean City Inlet and the increase rates of erosion and shoaling in the federal navigation channels in the area.
Citing the increased need for frequent short-term dredging in the Inlet and surrounding areas in recent years, the Corps further agreed that a more comprehensive, long-term solution is needed and recommitted to dredging the channels as necessary for safe navigation as federal funding allows. This spring, it came to light the continued shoaling of the Inlet was negatively affecting commercial and recreational fishing and boating activities out of Maryland’s only Atlantic port to the point some commercial fishermen have moved their operations out the commercial harbor in West Ocean City.

The Echo Bubble In Housing Is About To Pop
And here's the knife in the heart of the Echo Housing bubble: declining household income.
The Federal Reserve-induced Echo Housing Bubble is finally starting to roll over, and the bubble's pop won't be pretty. Why is the bubble finally popping now?
All the factors that inflated the Echo Housing bubble are running dry. These include:
-- unprecedented low mortgage rates
-- FHA mortgage approvals for anyone who fogs a mirror
-- frantic cash buying by Chinese millionaires desperate to get their money out of China
-- the Federal Reserve buying up trillions of dollars in mortgages
-- lemming-like buying of housing for rentals by everyone from Mom and Pop to huge hedge funds.
The well's gone dry, folks. There isn't going to be another push higher or a third housing bubble after this one pops.
Let's start with the basics: demographic demand for housing and the price of housing. There are plenty of young people who'd like to buy a house and start a family (a.k.a. new household formation), but few have the job or income to buy a house at today's nosebleed level--a level just slightly less insane than the prices at the top of Bubble #1.

'Officer of the Year' charged with sharing child porn while on duty
A Florida police officer, once declared “Officer of the Year” by his former department, was arrested by federal authorities this week for allegedly sharing—while on duty—images of children being sexually abused.
Michael Harding, employed by the Port St. Lucie Police Department since 2012, faces federal charges for receiving and distributing material involving sexual exploitation of minors and possession of child pornography.
Homeland Security investigators began monitoring Harding in July, when an undercover agent discovered his alleged account on the Kik Messenger service uploading images of underage girls engaged in sexual acts. Harding is accused of sharing the photos under the username “desthfromabovee.”

University Of Maryland Considering To Change Football Stadium Name
COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WJZ) – The University of Maryland’s Byrd Stadium could soon have a different name.
Tracey Leong reports for WJZ.
Some have argued the football stadium is named after a man with racist beliefs, and this prompted the university president to form a group to evaluate their options.
“President Loh feels it’s really important to get as much campus input as possible, which is why he formed this committee, faculty, staff, students, this is their university, too,” said assistant vice president of marketing, Brian Ullmann.
According to one University of Maryland student, “The university should definitely take it into consideration,” said Frederique Thompson. “It will be like a domino effect where people are going to look for names to change.”

Volkswagen's cheating engines can't be easily fixed
Volkswagen is confronted with a monumental challenge.
The company has admitted that 11 million of its cars used illegal software to cheat emissions standards.
Now, many owners are demanding that the offending cars be fixed.
That's easier said than done, and Volkswagen has already tried — and failed — twice.
Here's the issue, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency: Cars with Volkswagen's2-liter TDI turbo-diesel four-cylinder engines include software that detects when the car is undergoing emissions testing and turns on a suite of pollution-control systems.

Six Questions the MSM Would Never Ask a Liberal
NBC’s “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd on Sunday decided to put his Republican guests on the spot with some classic “gotcha” action, asking Ben Carson and Donald Trump if they would be comfortable with a Muslim as president.
Predictably, the answers generated news, as intended. All of it “controversial,” or so the mainstream press reported.
Ben Carson offered a reasoned, if politically incorrect, answer that incited outrage in the media.
Asked if he thought Islam was consistent with the Constitution, Carson replied, “No, I do not,” adding, “I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation. I absolutely would not agree with that.”
Uncharacteristically, Trump was a little more careful. “Would I be comfortable? I don’t know if we have to address it right now, but I think it’s certainly something that could happen,” he said.

Solar System to Scale in 7 miles of Nevada desert
Here is a wonderful visualization of the actual scale of our solar system. Takes only 7 minutes, but is so very creative and visually accurate. Narrator gives lectures on astronomy and the space program on Holland America Cruise Lines. A very common comment is that we humans have a difficult time comprehending the size and distances in our solar system, Milky Way Galaxy, and our Universe. I hope this helps.

DSP Mounted Patrol Unit Receives Trailer From Kent County Levy Court
Dover, DE – In a small ceremony held Tuesday September 15, 2015, representatives from Kent County Levy Court as well as troopers from the Mounted Patrol Unit were on hand to see the newly purchased 2015 Adam custom made four horse gooseneck trailer with extended tack room that will be utilized to haul the unit’s steeds.
In September 2014 Kent County Levy Court awarded grant monies to the Delaware State Police, Municipal Police Departments throughout Kent County, and the Capital Police. The state police were awarded $75,000 and decided to use the funds for a four horse trailer and truck, in support of the Mounted Patrol Unit. It was agreed that Kent County would do the invitations to bid for the truck and trailer, make the purchase and turn it over to the Delaware State Police. Delwood Trailer Sales Inc. was awarded the bid and after the purchase, including tags and title, the total amount of the trailer was $36,020.
The remaining funds after the horse trailer was purchased, tagged and titled and the direct cost related to bidding were paid were issued by Levy Court in a check to the Delaware State Police to purchase a 2015 Ford 350 pick-up truck to pull the trailer. These funds were supplemented with funds from the state to make up the difference.
The Mounted Patrol Unit has been seen at many different venues and developments throughout Kent County this past year. FireFly, Big Barrel, Delaware Junction, and the Delaware State Fair have been a few events that the horses and troopers have greeted patrons. They have also been seen interacting with residents as they patrolled the neighborhoods of Capitol Park, Meadowbrook, and the surrounding areas of Dover Air Park.
The unit, which is continuing to grow, consists of one full-time trooper and four part-time troopers all whom maintain their proficiency of riding the mounts through the Pennsylvania State Police Tactical Mounted Unit.
Currently the horses are stabled at Wellspring Farm at Bellevue State Park, north of Wilmington but will soon be moved to a newly built stable located on the grounds of James T. Vaughn Correctional Center near Smyrna.
The horses assigned to the unit are as follows:
Arthur - 12 year old Shire; gray gelding
Leo - 13 year old Percheron; black gelding
Cassel - 10 year old Percheron; gray gelding
Finnegan - 5 year old Percheron; black gelding
JR – 10 year old Percheron; black gelding
