The 50 greatest Yogi Berra quotes

Yankees legend Yogi Berra passed away on Tuesday at the age of 90. An 18-time All-Star, Berra appeared in 14 World Series as a member of the Yankees and won 10 of them.

Berra’s contributions to MLB history are incalculable, but his legacy might be even better remembered for what he contributed to American language. A sportswriters’ favorite, Berra had countless expressions and turns of phrase that were memorable because most of them didn’t make any sense. (At the same time, every one had some truth to it.)

Berra-isms (colloquial expressions that lack logic) are now countless, and many of them are just attributed to Berra, even if he never actually said them. As he so perfectly put it: “I never said most of the things I said.” Here are 50 of our favorites.

1. When you come to a fork in the road, take it.

Girlfriend of Boston mobster 'Whitey' Bulger indicted for contempt

The girlfriend of convicted Boston mobster James "Whitey" Bulger was indicted on Tuesday for contempt of court for refusing to testify about the couple's time in hiding, the Massachusetts District Attorney's office said.

Catherine Greig, 64, had been ordered by the U.S. District Court in Boston last year to answer questions before a grand jury about people who helped Bulger while he lived on the lam for 16 years to avoid arrest.

"Catherine Greig has yet again failed to do the right thing," said Boston FBI agent Joseph Bonavolonta in a press release. "Her refusal to testify has hindered the FBI's efforts to seek justice for the victims of (Bulger's) crimes."

Texas coach resigns after players hit referee

ROUND ROCK, Texas (CNN) —Mack Breed, the assistant coach from John Jay High School in San Antonio, Texas, who is accused of directing two players to tackle a referee during a game, has resigned, Northside Independent School District Superintendent Brian Woods said Thursday.

Head football coach Gary Gutierrez spoke during the University Interscholastic League hearing, both defending Breed and deriding his "poor judgment call."

"I love coach Breed. He was on staff already when I became head coach. He is an upstanding man, he is a man of integrity," Gutierrez said, but "he violated the sanctity of what coaches are" by telling the players to hit the referee.

Don’t abolish it yet: Americans still loyal to the penny

They’ve put in their two cents: The majority of Americans oppose abolishing the penny according to a Harris Poll released Tuesday. Indeed, 51 percent of us want to keep the little coin, though some have more affection for it than others. Six-out-of-10 conservatives, for instance, want to keep the penny in circulation, as opposed to 49 percent of moderates and 47 percent of liberals.

There’s a gender divide also: 57 percent of women favor the penny coin - along with 44 percent of men.

‘It Was A Real Disaster Area’: Hurricane Gloria Remembered 30 Years Later

OCEAN CITY — Thirty years ago this weekend, Ocean City Councilman Dennis Dare was a young city engineer for the town of Ocean City.

The year was 1985, and Dare and other town officials got word that a Cape Verde-hurricane called Gloria had taken a sharp turn in the Atlantic Ocean and was churning with increasing force toward the East Seaboard.

When the hurricane passed by on Sept, 27, it left behind significant damage including the destruction of the majority of the resort’s famous Boardwalk. Gloria quickly went into the record books as one of Ocean City’s benchmark storms.

I sat down with Dare, who spent eight years as city engineer and 21 years as city manager, to look back on the experience and explore the ways that Gloria changed Ocean City.

Time for CAIR to withdraw -- from human race

Did Dr. Ben Carson hit a nerve with his politically incorrect but morally correct statement that Americans should be wary of voting for a Muslim president?

Yes, he did.

And the proof is the response from the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which called on him to withdraw from the presidential race.

CAIR is not only a Muslim Brotherhood front group and a darling of the U.S. media establishment. It is also joined at the hip with the terrorist group Hamas. In fact, in the biggest trial in American history on the funding of terrorist groups, CAIR was shown to be a wholly owned subsidiary of Hamas.

Nine UK-based bloggers on list published by Bangladesh group Ansarullah Bangla Team, who have been blamed for a series of murders

An Islamic militant group in Bangladesh has issued a hitlist of secular bloggers, writers and activists around the world, saying they will be killed if its demands are not met.

The list will raise fears that Islamic militant violence within the unstable south Asian country could take on an international dimension.

The targets in the list include nine bloggers based in the UK, seven in Germany, two in the US, one in Canada and one in Sweden. Some are Bangladeshi citizens living overseas. Others are dual nationals or citizens of the western nations.

Man Uncovers ‘Epic, Hysterical Fail on Walmart’s Part’ After Checking Out ‘Gun Oil’ Product at the Gun Counter

Jamie Lee Bracey said he was in a Walmart in Florence, Alabama, last week at the gun counter and happened upon a product that piqued his interest — “Gun Oil H2O.”

But it turns out the item wasn’t what Bracey thought it was, so he grabbed his cellphone camera apparently on the spot and recounted for us all his stunned reaction, holding one of the bottles he grabbed.

“Oh wow,” he said. “It says water-based lubricant for your gun.”

Bracey figures the water in the product would cause rust, so he reads further.

“Let’s see here. ‘Long-lasting lubrication with easy cleanup. Glycerin and paraben free. Wetter, lighter feel than silicone,’” he recited. “Oh that sounds good. That sounds really good. I think my gun would work really good, wetter and lighter.”

But of course, there’s more.

"We saw that the investment required to bring our technology, tools and marketplace to every one of our 40+ countries isn’t commensurate with the return at this point," wrote chief operating officer Rich Williams.

DEVIL IN DISGUISE? OBAMA SPORTS HORNS IN WELL-TIMED PHOTOS

Cameras capture images of president escorting Pope Francis

President Obama has had flies land on his face numerous times, prompting some to call him “Lord of the flies.”

And he has been buzzed by bees.

And has had rodents running across his presidential podium while addressing reporters.

His face has even been compared to the character of Satan the devil in “The Bible” TV miniseries.

And now, social media has erupted over a perfectly timed photograph that puts horns above Obama’s head as he meets with Pope Francis – a curious satanic-seeming image that has some seeing biblical prophecies achieve fruition.

The photo has been retweeted thousands of times, and shared to a similar tune on Facebook.

Killing of Texas policeman at home linked to Craigslist

The Walters were apprehended on Sept. 3 and charged with first-degree felony murder. They are being held on a bond of $500,000 each, police said.

Hillary Clinton's Freudian Sermons

The more she castigates others, the more she convicts herself. What have I become? My sweetest friend. Everyone I know Goes away in the end. You could have it all, My empire of dirt. I will let you down. I will make you hurt. — “Hurt,” Nine-Inch Nails

For nearly 40 years, Bill and Hillary Clinton have crafted joint power careers. But “in the end,” what have they become? What is left but their front foundation, their Soros-funded surrogates, and their lock-step loyalists — in other words, their “empire of dirt”? Hillary Clinton just released a brief video about the need for women to stand up to their sexual assaulters while demanding relief from society’s unwarranted doubts about their allegations: “It’s not enough to condemn campus sexual assault. We need to end campus sexual assault!” Who would not agree with that assertion?

Fourth Fire On Same OC Block Raises Questions; ‘Suspicious’ Blaze Under Investigation

OCEAN CITY — The Ocean City Fire Marshal’s Office continues to investigate another fire last Thursday evening in the same general area where three other blazes have occurred this year, raising suspicion something more than mere coincidence could be afoot.

Last Friday, two downtown residents were displaced after an early morning residential fire at St. Louis Ave. near 1st Street, the fourth fire in basically the same block thus far this year. Around 12:50 a.m. last Friday, the Ocean City Fire Department responded to the area of St. Louis Avenue and 1st Street for a reported building fire. First arriving units discovered fire and heavy smoke emanating from a second-floor unit of the two-story residential building. Fire crews quickly extinguished the blaze, but remained on the scene for about three hours.

Two occupants of the ground-floor unit were displaced during the fire and were assisted by the American Red Cross and no injuries were reported. This week, the Ocean City Fire Marshal’s Office continued to investigate last Friday’s fire along with any possible connection to another residential fire on the same block in June and possibly the two fires that severely damaged the old de Lazy Lizard Brew Pub and eventually led to the demolition of the historic building that housed Melvin’s Steakhouse for decades.

Trump threatens to sue Club for Growth over attack ads

Donald Trump has threatened a "multimillion dollar lawsuit" against the conservative Club for Growth for its advertising campaign attacking the Republican front-runner for his liberal economic policy positions.

On Tuesday, Trump's presidential campaign released a "cease and desist" letter sent by the billionaire's general counsel, Alan Garten, to Club for Growth President David McIntosh.

In the letter written on the letterhead of Trump's business conglomerate, Garten says the conservative group has misrepresented Trump's views on taxes by taking an old statement that he would like to hike taxes across the board on the "superwealthy," a view that Trump's campaign claims he no longer holds.

Like most things in Trump's campaign, the letter does not conform with traditional legal language.

His counsel addresses the Club for Growth at one point as "your pitiful little group" and another as the perpetrator of a "shake-down" — the group earlier in the year asked for a $1 million donation from the billionaire businessman, which he declined.

Bill and Hillary Clinton Get Paid Millions By Drug Companies

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and her husband Bill have taken millions of dollars from the drug companies that she is spending Tuesday disparaging.

Clinton is in Iowa rolling out her new plan to lower drug prices, which she says she can do by allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices with companies. Clinton would also force pharmaceutical companies to invest a “sufficient amount” of their profits in research and development and more stringently regulate their advertising practices. CNN’s headlinebills the policy pivot as “Hillary Clinton to take on drug companies.”

Take on drug companies? Do you know how much money she’s gotten from them?

Hillary Clinton made close to a million dollars in paid speeches alone to drug companies just last year. She took $335,000 from the Biotechnology Industry Organization, grabbed $225,000 from the Pharmaceutical Care Management Association, and pocketed $250,000 from the Drug Chemical & Associated Technologies Association.

FBI Quietly Adds Civil Fingerprint Collection to Criminal Database

Accessing the FBI’s biometric database has long been a critical step in catching and prosecuting criminals. People who commit serious crimes tend to do so many times throughout their lives, so it makes sense that law enforcement agencies would be able to record their fingerprints when they’re caught, and save them for future references. In the near future however, your fingerprints may also find their way into the FBI’s database, regardless of your criminal history.

Originally, the FBI rarely held on to fingerprints that weren’t related to a crime (at least that we know of) and even when they did keep them, they weren’t readily accessible. But now the FBI has merged their criminal database with the civil database. This means that anytime your prints are submitted to the FBI for any reason, they are lumped together with those belonging to criminals. And this doesn’t just apply to high-profile jobs that require a security clearance, this includes just about any job with the federal government. It also applies to many private fields that require a license (this could include security guards, lawyers, contractors, nurses, etc). California alone submits 1.2 million sets of fingerprints to the feds every year.

Not only does this increase the chances of innocent people getting caught up in criminal cases, it’s an egregious violation of our rights. By collecting this information into a criminal database, they’re essentially treating ordinary citizens like criminals before they’re ever charged with a crime.

Fresh evidence in Freddie Gray case could delay officers' trials

The first trial had been tentatively scheduled to begin next month.

Attorneys for all six officers, who are to be tried separately, said in a filing late last week that their clients wanted to attend a scheduling conference Thursday with Judge Barry Williams in order to "place on the record several significant discovery issues which affect the respective Defendants in different ways and may require certain Defendants to seek postponements."

Father of Washington state teen gunman 'slipped' through system

The father of a Washington state high school student who killed four classmates before committing suicide last year was able to "slip" through the system to get the firearm his son used, media reports quoted federal prosecutors as saying on Tuesday.

Raymond Fryberg, 42, is facing six counts of illegal possession of firearms in violation of a 2002 court protection order that barred him from obtaining guns, an indictment shows.

Among the weapons were a rifle, a shotgun and a Beretta Px4 Storm handgun. His son Jaylen Fryberg used the Beretta in the Oct. 24 shooting at Marysville-Pilchuck High School, about an hour's drive north of Seattle.

The popular 15-year-old football player opened fire on a cafeteria gathering of his cousins and three close friends before taking his own life. Four of the students died and one survived.
Raymond Fryberg, who went on trial on Monday, has pleaded not guilty.

Clinton: Trump appealing to ‘paranoia and prejudice’

Hillary Clinton on Tuesday accused Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump of appealing to the “paranoia and prejudice” of downtrodden Americans frustrated by stagnant wage growth.

Speaking to The Des Moines Register’s editorial board, Clinton explained that she believes stagnant wages for middle-class workers is one of the most pressing issues facing the nation and accused Trump of seeking to feed off the fears the stagnation has provoked.

“Mr. Trump and his outrageous appeals to paranoia and prejudice — he gets some of the reaction he does in part because people are genuinely worried and anxious and looking for answers,” Clinton said.

A Viewer Writes: Signs

I saw these signs posted at the Salisbury locations for Bike Week. Is this a new policy? Now that the signs are down, can we Salisburians go back to carrying our illegal guns and “Activities”?

Keep insulting us, LE. That’s the way to gain our respect and to fight crime… not.

Ocean City Approves Signs Warning Against Disturbing Peace, Disorderly Conduct

OCEAN CITY — With Bike Week in the books and a handful of vehicle-related special events yet to come, Ocean City officials this week passed an ordinance requiring businesses to install signs warning revelers of the existing disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct laws.

Earlier this month, the Mayor and Council backed off a pair of rather draconian ordinances aimed at curbing some of the disruption associated with the offseason vehicle-related special events and opted instead to enforce disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace laws already on the books. Ever since the spring Cruisin’ event, with its big traffic jams, crowds of often disruptive and unruly onlookers lining the streets and cramming into business parking lots, for example, Ocean City officials have wrestled with ideas on how to continue to foster a welcoming attitude while toning down some of the illicit behavior associated with the events.

Borne out of those discussions was a pair of proposed ordinances which, if approved, would put a damper on the special events-related activities. One of the proposed ordinances would have expanded the Ocean City Police Department’s ability to enforce open container and public consumption laws on certain private property including the parking lots of shopping centers, hotels and motels and restaurants, for example. One of the major issues with some of the vehicle-related special events are the crowds of spectators that congregate with coolers in private parking lots, some merely enjoying the parade of vehicles and others egging on illicit behavior from the drivers.

Burglary Suspect Stashes Weapons In Hair

OCEAN CITY — A local homeless woman was arrested on burglary and weapons charges this week after allegedly entering an occupied rental property and acting as if she was part of the housekeeping crew.

Around 9:45 a.m. on Monday, an OCPD officer responded to the Madison House, a house rented by the Madison Beach Motel, for a report of a female who had entered the house and been asked to leave. The manager of the Madison Beach Motel told police the occupants of the Madison House complained a woman in her 30s and entered her unit without permission and had been asked to leave numerous times.

Another OCPD officer located the suspect, later identified as Michelle Denise Rogers, 48, of no fixed address, in the parking lot of a convenience store nearby. Rogers told the officer she had entered the residence to use the bathroom and that she had permission to do so from the tenant.

The tenant told police she had been staying at the residence with her boyfriend and that Rogers approached her boyfriend in the parking lot and asked him if she could use the bathroom. The couple allowed Rogers to use the bathroom and she left without incident, but returned a short time later. When she returned, she entered the residence through a rear door and began spraying air freshener throughout the house and acting as if she was a housekeeper.

Migrant Crisis and Euro Tensions Could Trigger Catastrophic Conflict

RISING tensions between central and east European countries over the escalating migrant crisis could be the spark for a catastrophic WORLD WAR, experts warned today.

Both the Hungarian and Italian prime ministers have spoken of huge dangers of unchecked floods of immigrants from Africa and the Middle East which have set previously peaceful EU nations against each other.

The scenario - especially the one currently being played out in Serbia and Hungary - is hauntingly similar to that which triggered the First World War.

The problem has manifesting itself in central Europe where Hungary is besieged by growing numbers of refugees passing through from Serbia and Croatia, forcing its government to build fences to stem the influx.

Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán warned European life and its established laws were under threat from huge numbers of people heading through the continent from war-torn states in the Middle East.

Morning Plum: Megyn Kelly nails it on why Donald Trump matters

Call it the Trump Challenge: Will the Donald’s GOP rivals be as specific as he has on the question of what should happen to the 11 million undocumented immigrants in this country? Trump’s position is clear, or at least somewhat clearer than that of many Republicans: He would deport them all in a “very humane fashion.”

Trump’s GOP rivals are now getting pinned down on the question of whether they agree with him on this and other immigration matters. Here’s a very good example. Fox News’ Megyn Kelly grilled Senator Ted Cruz on whether he agrees with another aspect of Trump’s plan — the pledge to do away with birthright citizenship for the children of undocumented immigrants born here. Here’s

“What would President Cruz do? Do American citizen children of two illegal immigrants, who are born here, the children, get deported under a President Cruz?” Kelly asked.

Donald Trump, she said, “has answered that question explicitly.”

“Megyn, I get that that’s the question you want to ask,” Cruz said. “That’s also the question every mainstream media liberal journalist wants to ask.”

Asked whether it is an unfair question, Cruz said that it is “a distraction” from solving the issue.

“You know, it’s also the question that Barack Obama wants to focus on,” Cruz retorted.

“Why is it so hard? Why don’t you just say yes or no?” Kelly asked.

Cruz’s response: “Because, Megyn, we need to solve the problem. And the way you solve the problem is you focus where there’s bipartisan agreement first. Once we’ve secured the border, once we’ve proven we can do this, once we’ve stopped the Obama administration’s policy of releasing 104,000 violent criminal illegal aliens in one year. Once we’ve solved that problem, then we can have a debate, then we can have a conversation.”

US-trained Rebels 'Betray US' and Hand Weapons Over to al-Qaeda

Pentagon-trained rebels in Syria are reported to have betrayed their American backers and handed their weapons over to al-Qaeda in Syria immediately after re-entering the country.

Fighters with Division 30, the “moderate” rebel division favored by the United States, surrendered to the al-Qaeda-affiliated Jabhat al-Nusra, a raft of sources claimed on Monday night.

Division 30 was the first faction whose fighters graduated from a US-led training program in Turkey which aims to forge a force on the ground in Syria to fight against Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (Isil).

A statement on Twitter by a man calling himself Abu Fahd al-Tunisi, a member of al-Qaeda’s local affiliate Jabhat al-Nusra, read: "A strong slap for America... the new group from Division 30 that entered yesterday hands over all of its weapons to Jabhat al-Nusra after being granted safe passage.

"They handed over a very large amount of ammunition and medium weaponry and a number of pick-ups."

Ocean City Good Samaritans Assist Weekend Accident Victims

OCEAN CITY — Two Ocean City restaurant workers put the “hospital” in hospitality last weekend when they were each first on the scene and helped save lives at two different serious motorcycle accidents on the same night about 100 blocks apart.

Shortly before 7 p.m. last Friday, local resident, firefighter, paramedic, rescue swimmer and Uber driver Mick Chester was working behind the bar at a busy Mother’s Cantina when a serious accident occurred involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian occurred just out front in the area of Coastal Highway and 28thStreet. Chester dropped what he was doing and dashed outside to intervene, administering First Aid, identifying and prioritizing the various victims and taking command of the situation until police and Emergency Services arrived.

About six hours later, Krista Brooks, who with her husband, Johnny, operate the Crabcake Factory businesses, was working in the restaurant when another serious accident involving a motorcycle occurred just out front of the Ocean City operation at 120th Street. Like Chester, Brooks ran outside and began tending to the seriously injured victims, a husband and wife, until police and Emergency Services arrived. Brooks calmed the victims, attempted to stabilize them and directed her employees to provide her with supplies to begin treating the victims until help arrived.

In the 28th Street accident, the investigation revealed a motorcycle struck a pedestrian who was not crossing the highway in a crosswalk and was on her cell phone. Chester said this week he was bartending at Mother’s Cantina and was walking into the kitchen when a co-worker alerted him to the accident.

The Youth Must Rise Up: Martin Armstrong Warns "The End Of The Noose Around Our Necks" Is Nigh

I have met with students in Paris and throughout Europe. The politicians cannot understand that they are destroying your future. All they can see is their need to retain power, but the high levels of taxes are so burdensome that they are preventing the creation of new jobs. The zero to negative interest rates has resulted in the elderly still working because they cannot afford to retire.

We are reaching the end of this noose around our neck that was placed there by Marx. It is interesting how in the USA they call me a “conservative”, yet in France, they call me a “liberal” because I am against authoritative socialism. The labels change, but the message remains the same.

Why did Marxism collapse? Because government cannot create anything new for that requires the freedom to act and imagine which is exclusively an individual trait. Government creates nothing. They are the great destroyer. Companies grow and become bureaucratic. In the process, they terminate the creative genius upon which all companies are found. A creative person is a NON-CONFORMIST. Consequently, they do not suffer regulation and bureaucratic systems. So in come the lawyers and the accountants who then eject the creativity from the board, exactly as Apple got rid of Steve Jobs. Once the creative person is gone, the company begins its slow death. At first, they buy startups and pay huge money to gain creativity. In the end, bureaucracy kills the corporation for the very same reason government destroys the economy and shrinks it, no matter what they pretend.

The is just one aspect that Marx could not see for there is no difference between a corrupt bureaucratic CEO running a company and a corrupt bureaucratic politician. Hence, socialism cannot survive for it lowers the living standard of the whole.

Drones Armed With High-Energy Lasers May Arrive In 2017

Flying military robots armed with high-energy lasers? It’s a future that is exciting, terrifying — and perhaps just two years away.

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc., or GA-ASI, the San Diego-based company that makes the Predator and Reaper drones, is undertaking a privately funded study to integrate a 150-kilowatt solid-state laser onto its Avenger (née Predator-C) drone. If the company succeeds, a drone with a high-energy laser will be a reality at some point in 2017, company executives told Defense One.

“We’re funded right now to develop a laser module compatible with the aircraft and study putting it on the Avenger,” Michael Perry, Vice President for Mission Systems at GA-ASI, told Defense One. “We hope to be funded to do that,” he said.

Fiorina accused of spreading video lies, urged to visit Planned Parenthood clinic

Planned Parenthood lashed out at Carly Fiorina on Wednesday, accusing the Republican presidential hopeful of peddling “flat-out” lies about the group’s abortion services and urging her to visit one of its clinics to get a better sense of what the organization does for women’s health.

The vehement denunciation also showed how seriously Planned Parenthood is taking the candidacy of the only woman in the Republican presidential field, now that Ms. Fiorina has surged in polls and notched two stellar debate performances.

Whistleblowers: VA inspector general a 'joke'

WASHINGTON — The Department of Veterans Affairs continues to retaliate against whistleblowers despite repeated pledges to stop punishing those who speak up, a group of employees said Tuesday. One called the department's office of inspector general a "joke."

VA whistleblowers from across the country told a Senate committee that the department has failed to hold supervisors accountable more than a year after a scandal that broke over chronic delays for veterans seeking medical care and falsified records covering up the waits.

Shea Wilkes, a mental health social worker at the Shreveport, Louisiana, VA hospital, said agency leaders are "more interested in perpetuating their own careers than caring for our veterans."

Wilkes, who helped organize a group known as "VA Truth Tellers," said "years of cronyism and lack of accountability have allowed at least two generations of poor, incompetent leaders to plant themselves within the system," harming medical treatment for veterans. The informal watchdog group includes more than 40 whistleblowers from VA facilities in a dozen states.

"Until we are able to protect whistleblowers and potential whistleblowers, the true depth of the corruption within the VA will not be known," Wilkes said, calling the VA's office of inspector general a "joke." The office has not had a permanent leader since December 2013.

Farm Bureau Prepares to Ask Supreme Court to Throw out the Chesapeake Bay Clean Water Blueprint

(ANNAPOLIS, MD) — The American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) and its allies, including the National Association of Homebuilders, made it clear that they intend to ask the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn two lower court decisions upholding the Chesapeake Bay Clean Water Blueprint. The AFBF requested an extension of time to ask the Supreme Court to hear an appeal of their lawsuit challenging the Chesapeake Clean Water Blueprint.

The AFBF and the Homebuilders originally sued the federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in federal district court in 2010. The Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) formally intervened in support of the Blueprint and EPA. In 2014, after losing in federal district court, AFBF and its allies appealed to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, which also ruled against them.

In response to the Supreme Court request, CBF President William C. Baker issued the following statement.

"We are disappointed, but not surprised, that the Farm Bureau and its allies continue to challenge the plan to restore water quality in local rivers, streams, and the Chesapeake Bay. Despite strong and well-reasoned decisions by the two lower courts, this filing shows the Farm Bureau's determination to undermine efforts of six states and the District of Columbia to finally restore this national treasure.

"As part of the Chesapeake Clean Water Blueprint, the states asked EPA to determine how much pollution must be reduced to restore local waterways and the Bay, and the states and District of Columbia each developed individual plans to achieve those reductions. AFBF's argument that this is an EPA over-reach has been twice rejected by federal courts, and we will argue that the issues are settled and there is no reason for the Supreme Court to hear this case.

"We and our members have repeatedly encouraged the Farm Bureau and the Homebuilders to put their energy and money into working with us to reduce agricultural and runoff pollution, the largest sources of pollution degrading the Bay. We believe working together to reduce pollution is a far more productive approach than re-arguing points that have been resolved.

"Although the Farm Bureau often states that it wants clean water, its actions belie its words. Because CBF believes that the Blueprint is our last hope for clean water, we will continue to defend the Blueprint in the courts, in our states, and in our communities for the benefit of all who depend on and value clean water."

Rehoboth Beach-On Friday October 2, 2015, the Delaware State Police will host a golf tournament which benefits the Camp Barnes Organization.  The event kicks off Friday at noon on the prestigious Kings Creek Country Club located in Rehoboth Delaware.

The money raised from the golf tournament goes toward the continued efforts at giving kids the opportunity to enjoy all of what Camp Barnes has to offer.  In 1947, the Delaware Association of Chiefs of Police, an organization which was composed of active law enforcement and correctional officers, accepted the challenge to undertake a project to combat juvenile delinquency in the first state. A committee was appointed to investigate the problems confronting youth. Its resulting recommendations led to the establishment of Camp Barnes for the recreation of deserving youth from throughout the state.

Camp Barnes, located on Millers Creek, a tributary of Little Assawoman Bay, has since served the needs of thousands of children from throughout Delaware. Camp Barnes was originally designed to provide the children who were unable to attend the opportunity to experience life at a summer youth camp. Camp Barnes has remained basically unchanged, providing Delaware children with these outdoor experiences for over 50 years. The summer camp is an overnight residential camp run by the Delaware State Police and is open to children between the ages of 10 and 13 at no cost to the camper or family.  Camp Barnes accommodates 60 campers per week for 6 weeks. The camp is in session from early July through August. All children are eligible to attend regardless of family income.

One of the many positive aspects of Camp Barnes summer camp is the innovative use of adventure based outdoor learning experiences. Camp Barnes has on its grounds an extensive outdoor initiative course with 17 different initiative and team building elements.
Some of the many activities campers participate in throughout the week include:

  • Swimming in an Olympic size pool.
  • Kayaking in Millers Creek
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Nature Walk
  • Talent Show

Campers also enjoy a scaled down version of the Olympics, State Police demonstrations by the K-9, Scuba and Aviation Units.

Camp Barnes has a staff of 12 counselors, 2 cooks, and 1 kitchen assistant. Counselors are required to submit to a criminal check as well as an interview. There is also a State Trooper on grounds at all times when the camp is in session.

With so much to see and do at Camp Barnes, it is easy to see why so many children enjoy their experience. With your help and assistance, many of these children departing the camp, and others like them, will get a chance to attend Camp Barnes, DELAWARE’SCAMP!

Truth Be Told

Questions BEING ASKED Behind the Scenes in Europe

1.) Why would Syrian refugees make the dangerous and extremely long journey to European nations and U.S. (whhold damnable doctrine and life-styles according to the Quran) rather than the Arab nations (who are Islamic oriented) around them?

2.) Why has it taken 5 full years(length of civil war in certain parts of Syria) for Syrians in the particular regions to leave?

3.) Why are refugees tossing out good water and food given to them by western governments on their arrival?

4.) Why are so many of the refugees young men?

5.) Why are the 5 wealthiest Gulf Nations refusing to take even one refugee? What do they know that we don't?

6.) Could it be this refugee crisis is not really a crisis at all but a Trojan Horse?

7.) Could it be that we could be looking at the most massive Infiltration of Muslims and the religion of Islam the West has EVER seen in History

8.) Could it be this "refugee crisis" is a planned takeover by the United Nations, U.S. and EU sensitive to the Caliphate of Islamic Teachings?
