European Law Enforcement Agencies: On Second Thought, Maybe Firearms Would Be Helpful

When witnesses in the same building as Charlie Hebdo saw masked men with heavy weaponry enter the building they called police, like anyone in their position would do. But the three unarmed officers on bikes who showed up proved to be most unhelpful in the situation.

According to the witness, the officers had to retreat after seeing the men were heavily armed.

That wasn’t the only instance during the three-day terror spree where police found themselves utterly unprepared to take on the jihadists.

The 27-year-old policewoman who was gunned down just south of Paris while attending a traffic accident was unarmed, as was her partner, who could do nothing to stop the gunman.

10 states line up to limit federal power

Ten states now have taken the first step toward limiting the power of the federal government.

Officials from Arizona, Massachusetts, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Dakota, South Carolina, Virginia and Wyoming have filed resolutions calling for a convention of states that would propose amendments to the U.S. Constitution with the express purpose of limiting the power and jurisdiction of the federal government.

Article V of the Constitution gives the states the power to call such a convention. The article reads, in part:

“The Congress, whenever two thirds of both houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose amendments to this Constitution, or, on the application of the legislatures of two thirds of the several states, shall call a convention for proposing amendments, which, in either case, shall be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the legislatures of three fourths of the several states, or by conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other mode of ratification may be proposed by the Congress.”

James Buckley: End Government Payouts to the States

One of every six federal taxpayer dollars goes to the states to subsidize programs that are either mandated or ultimately controlled by the U.S. government — an arrangement that must end if Americans hope to ever reclaim the power they have needlessly surrendered to Washington, says a federal appeals judge who has written about overcoming our dependency on Uncle Sam.

Step one is to "eliminate the 1,100 programs in which the federal government offers subsidies to the states to deal with problems that are the exclusive business of the states," James Buckley, a U.S. Court of Appeals judge for the D.C. Circuit and former U.S. Senator from New York, told "MidPoint" host Ed Berliner on Newsmax TV Monday.

VP Biden Says He Has ‘Plenty Of Time’ To Weigh Presidency

WASHINGTON (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden says “I think I could do a good job” as president but says it’s too soon to say if he’ll try to succeed Barack Obama.

Biden says “being president and being leader of the Senate is two different things,” noting a vice president’s constitutional responsibility to occasionally preside over the Senate.

He tells NBCs “Today” show “I was fairly effective getting controversial things resolved,” citing his work on the Violence Against Women Act when he was a member of the Senate representing Delaware.

ISIS kills 13 teens for watching soccer

Executed by firing squad on street in Iraq

(NEW YORK POST)
ISIS jihadists publicly executed 13 teenage boys for watching a soccer match.

The young fans were reportedly watching an Asian Cup match between Iraq and Jordan on TV last week when they were caught by the militants in the Iraqi city of Mosul, which ISIS, or the Islamic State, controls.

The group of teens was executed in public by a firing squad that used machine guns, according to Raqqa Is Being Slaughtered Silently, an activist group that exposes ISIS atrocities.

Area Hospitals Report Major Jump In Flu Cases

BERLIN – Last year, staff at Atlantic General Hospital saw 20 cases of the flu.

This year, halfway through flu season, that number has already reached 241.

Twenty-two flu patients have been admitted to the hospital.

“In all my years here, this is the first time we’ve admitted that many patients because of the flu,” said Michaelann Frate, the hospital’s director of infection control.

Mirroring the trend reported at the state and national level, local hospitals are seeing an increase in flu cases. With the end of flu season still months away, Atlantic General and Peninsula Regional Medical Center have both already seen more cases this year than in all of last year. Children and seniors have been the most affected.

Tea Party Caucus Chairman: GOP Leaders Need To Stop Attacking Conservatives And Start Listening

Kansas Rep. Tim Huelskamp is one of the most energetic and principled of the 63 Republican freshman elected in 2010, a class that gave the GOP the majority in the House. In this exclusive video interview, Huelskamp offers encouragement to citizens who are feeling America is on the wrong track with weak congressional leadership.

“We are in a town that continues to move down the progressive route of bigger government every day. If we sit by, the president will continue to take over more and more of our economy, more and more of our lives and take away more of our liberties,” he said.

Speaking directly to viewers who may feel like giving up on politics, Huelskamp worries, “If we do nothing, I guarantee, we could lose it all. As Ronald Reagan said, if America falls, where will people escape to?” Did calls and emails about the Speaker vote make any difference? Huelskamp says, “Absolutely, without a doubt!” Citizen engagement and contact “scares the heck out of [elected members in Congress]!”

Anti-Gun Leader Upset Police Followed The Law

Clarence Daniels walked into a Wal-Mart in Florida with a gun under his jacket. Another man, Michael Foster, spotted the holstered weapon, followed Daniels into the store, then jumped him. Foster put Daniels in a chokehold and told patrons the man had a gun. When the police arrived Foster was arrested for battery.

Daniels, it turns out, has a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

Normally the story would end there, but this cut-and-dry case of one man attacking another over the perceived, and not real, threat he posed caught the attention of a leading anti-gun advocate.

Shannon Watts is the perfunctory head of the Michael Bloomberg front group “Moms Demand Action,” a small anti-gun group into which the billionaire Bloomberg pours millions. Upon hearing of the attack on Daniels, who was following the law, Watts tweeted:

Nearly 50 per cent of Japanese adults 'not having sex'

Tired and can't-be-bothered couples are failing to reproduce, worsening the nation's population decline

Nearly 50 per cent of all Japanese adults are not having sex, according to a study, dealing a new blow to government efforts to halt the sliding birth rate.

The report, conducted by the Japan Family Planning Association, determined that 49.3 per cent of the 3,000 people interviewed had not had sex in the previous month.

Of the men interviewed, 48.3 said they had not had sex for a month, while 50.1 per cent of women had abstained. Both figures were up about 5 percentage points from the previous study, conducted in 2012.

Asked why they were not having sex, 21.3 per cent of the married men claimed they were too fatigued after work while 15.7 per cent replied that they were no longer interested in sex after their wives gave birth.

Among the women, 23.8 per cent said sex was "bothersome" and 17.8 blamed being tired from work.

You call him Gov. Hogan — she calls him Dad

During last year’s gubernatorial race in Maryland, Larry Hogan’s response to barbs that he would roll back gains in women’s rights included a pitch by someone he knows well — one of his wife’s three daughters.

Jaymi Sterling, who lives and works in St. Mary’s as an assistant prosecutor, came to the defense, through a television commercial, of the man who today, Jan. 21, will take on the title of governor, but whom she knows as Dad.

“We had not planned to do anything like that [commercial], ... [but] I couldn’t just sit back,” Sterling said during a recent interview in her office at the St. Mary’s courthouse in Leonardtown. “I wanted to set the record straight.”

WICOMICO DRUG DEALER CONVICTED OF MULTIPLE FIREARM AND DRUG FELONIES IN SEPARATE TRIALS

WICOMICO DRUG DEALER CONVICTED OF
MULTIPLE FIREARM AND DRUG FELONIES IN SEPARATE TRIALS

On December 18, 2014, after a two-day trial, a Wicomico County jury convicted Antoine Belizaire, Jr., age 32, of Wicomico County, Maryland, of possession with intent to distribute heroin and cocaine, being a felon in possession of a regulated firearm, possession of a regulated firearm during a drug trafficking offense and numerous other related offenses.
On January 15, 2015, another Wicomico County jury convicted Belizaire on separate charges of possession with intent to distribute a large amount of heroin, conspiracy and related offenses.
The events at issue in the first trial began on April 22, 2014, when officers attempted to serve a warrant on Belizaire.  On that date, members of the Maryland State Apprehension Team (“MSAT”), which is a taskforce comprised of multiple agencies including the Maryland State Police, the Salisbury Police Department, and the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office, were attempting to serve an outstanding warrant for assault in the second degree upon Belizaire.  Investigators conducting surveillance on Belizaire’s girlfriend’s home observed her driving in the area with Belizaire as a passenger.  Investigators then contacted members of the Maryland State Police Gang Enforcement Unit to assist in stopping the vehicle.  Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, however, the vehicle fled and led officers on a pursuit through the streets of Salisbury.  Eventually, Belizaire bailed out of the vehicle and fled on foot.  While fleeing from the location, Belizaire was observed to discard a tan baseball cap.  This baseball cap was recovered and was found to contain a large amount of heroin, as well as cocaine, marijuana, and a loaded semi-automatic handgun.  The street value of the heroin seized was estimated to be $16,000.
The events at issue in the second trial occurred while Belizaire was incarcerated and pending trial on the gun and drug charges from April 22nd.  During this time, Belizaire began to make numerous telephone calls from the Wicomico County Detention Center to his girlfriend and her uncle.  During these calls, Belizaire, speaking in code, instructed his girlfriend to remove an amount of heroin from a residence and to give it to her uncle.  Belizaire also instructed the uncle on how to prepare it for street-level sales with the aim of continuing Belizaire’s drug distribution network while he was incarcerated.  Unfortunately for Belizaire, investigators had continued their investigation into his on-going drug activity.  During the course of this continued investigation, investigators were able to develop his girlfriend as a co-conspirator and confronted her.  Belizaire’s girlfriend then began cooperating with authorities and ultimately led investigators to where the heroin was concealed.  This led to the recovery of more than 300 grams of heroin from her uncle’s residence.  The street value of the heroin seized was estimated to be approximately $200,000.
Belizaire, who acted as his own attorney in both trials, has multiple prior convictions including felony drug and firearms convictions.  At the time, Belizaire was on probation for possession with intent to distribute narcotics and is currently pending a violation of probation hearing in that matter.
Sentencing for the new offenses was deferred to allow for a pre-sentencing investigation to be completed.  Belizaire’s potential total sentence on the offenses for which he was convicted in the first trial is more than seventy-five years with at least twenty years of that time being mandatory, non-parole eligible time.  Belizaire also faces approximately sixty years of potential incarceration with more mandatory time in the second case.  Finally, Belizaire then faces a potential additional fifteen years on his violation of probation.
Wicomico County State’s Attorney Matthew A. Maciarello commended the Maryland State Apprehension Team, the Maryland State Police Gang Enforcement Unit, the Wicomico County Narcotics Task Force, and the Wicomico County Bureau of Investigation for their work in the investigation and prosecution of this case.  Mr. Maciarello also thanked James L. Britt who prosecuted Belizaire.

Officials: 2 bodies found at site of Maryland mansion fire

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Officials say investigators have found the bodies of two people in the charred remains of an Annapolis-area mansion that burned to the ground earlier this week.

Anne Arundel Fire Department spokesman Capt. Russ Davies said cadaver dogs and searchers found the bodies Wednesday. He said four people remain unaccounted for.

Property records show the home is owned by Sandra and Don Pyles.

They and four grandchildren have been missing since crews were called early Monday to the scene of the blaze, which reduced a 16,000-square-foot waterfront castle to ruins. Officials said Tuesday that relatives believed the family was inside the mansion when it caught fire.

Probe of military experts finds U.S. 'switched sides' in terror war

NEW YORK –
The Obama White House and the State Department under the management of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton “changed sides in the war on terror” in 2011 by implementing a policy of facilitating the delivery of weapons to the al-Qaida-dominated rebel militias in Libya attempting to oust Moammar Gadhafi from power, the Citizens Commission on Benghazi concluded in its interim report.

In WND interviews, several members of the commission have disclosed their finding that the mission of Christopher Stevens, prior to the fall of Gadhafi and during Stevens’ time as U.S. ambassador, was the management of a secret gun-running program operated out of the Benghazi compound.

Four Maryland Deer Test Positive for Chronic Wasting Disease

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources received laboratory confirmation on January 16, 2015 that four additional white-tailed deer harvested in Maryland tested positive for chronic wasting disease (CWD), bringing the total number of overall positive cases to six. The deer, all male, were harvested in the CWD Management Area in Allegany County during the regular deer firearm season.

The first confirmed case of CWD in Maryland was reported in February 2011 and the second was found in 2014, both from Allegany County. Maryland is one of more than 20 states and Canadian provinces with CWD documented in deer, elk or moose.

“Chronic Wasting Disease has become firmly established in the region since it was initially found in West Virginia in 2005,” said Paul Peditto, director of DNR’s Wildlife and Heritage Service. “The Department has followed this outbreak closely and has been prepared to find additional infected deer in Maryland. We have sampled intensively for this disease since 2002 and see this as an unfortunate but inevitable outcome. We will continue to manage CWD with the best available science to minimize the impact on our deer population and the people who enjoy these great animals.”

“THE DONALD” DOESN’T WANT A DREAMLINER

So what do you talk about when you find yourself standing shoulder-to-shoulder with a billionaire aboard his $100 million private jet?

If you’re our founding editor, you ask him why he hasn’t upgraded.

“When are you gonna buy a Dreamliner?” our very own Will Folks asked real estate mogul and reality television star Donald Trump during a visit aboard “Trump Force One,” the latter’s custom Boeing 757.

Folks’ question referred, of course, to the Boeing 787 – the much-maligned next generation passenger plane produced by the Chicago-based aerospace giant.

“You know they make them down in Charleston,” Folks said.

“That’s right,” Trump responded. “I guess I do need an upgrade – although you know that might be a downgrade.”

Wow … clearly “The Donald” knows all about this plane’s troubled history …

“In fact that would actually be a step down,” Trump continued. “I don’t like those batteries. And for what? To save forty pounds?”

We checked the math and wouldn’t you know it … “The Donald” was absolutely correct about the 787’s controversial lithium ion batteries, which have led to several safety issues (including a 2013 global grounding of the entire Dreamliner fleet).

Had the company opted for a safer battery for the 787, it would have added an estimated forty pounds to the plane’s 502,500 pound maximum takeoff weight.

Color us impressed …

Obama's Middle-Class Legacy: Fewer Jobs, Lower Pay and Bleaker Future

Barack Obama enters the final two years of his presidency with a blemish on his legacy that looks impossible to erase: the decline of the middle class he has promised to rescue.

The revival of middle-class jobs has been one of Obama's mantras since he took office in 2009 fighting the worst economic crisis in generations. It was a major theme of his last State of the Union address and is expected to feature in the one scheduled for Tuesday.

Obama's administration can take credit for stabilizing the U.S. economy, which is growing again and last year added jobs at the fastest clip since 1999.

But for the middle class the scars of the recession still run deep. Federal Reserve survey data show families in the middle fifth of the income scale now earn less and their net worth is lower than when Obama took office.

In the six years through 2013, over the recession and recovery that have spanned Obama's tenure, jobs have been added at the top and bottom of the wage scale, a Reuters analysis of labor statistics shows.

In the middle, the economy has shed positions — whether in traditional trades like machining or electrical work, white-collar jobs in human resources, or technical ones like computer operators.

English's Chicken auction in Ocean City includes rare Coastal Highway land

The auction of English's Chicken, an Eastern Shore landmark, will give the buyer not only its Ocean City restaurant but also a vacant lot that is zoned for retail, restaurant or even residential use.

Daniel M. Billig, of A.J. Billig & Co. Auctioneers, said the Feb. 20 auction is a rare opportunity for a buyer to acquire property — a little more than a half acre — on Coastal Highway in the heart of Ocean City. English's Chicken sits at the northeast corner of Philadelphia Avenue and 15th Street one block west of the boardwalk. Philadelphia, which is Maryland 528, turns into Coastal Highway.

English's owners are turning their focus to other ways to distribute their popular chicken and sweet potato biscuits, Billig said. But the family, which opened English's in Salisbury in 1937, will retain the original restaurant about 19 miles from Ocean City. The Ocean City restaurant opened in 1963.

NYC Settles Lawsuit for $75,000 over 2013 Police Chokehold

The city of New York has agreed to pay a Brooklyn man $75,000 to settle a lawsuit claiming he was choked and unable to breathe during a 2013 encounter with police.

A federal judge approved the settlement last week, and New York City Law Department spokesman Nick Paolucci said that "based on an evaluation of the case, it was determined that the settlement was in the best interests of the city."

Attorney Jeffrey Rothman said Monday that the settlement for Kevin Dennis-Palmer Sr. was "another example of a black man choked and beaten down into the ground."

Paolucci did not immediately respond Monday evening to an email seeking comment on Rothman's characterization of the case.

The lawsuit was filed in May before the death of Eric Garner last summer, whose treatment by police and a grand jury decision not to indict any officers prompted nationwide protests.

Garner, a large man suffering from asthma, died after a New York police officer placed him in an apparent chokehold during an arrest in July for selling loose cigarettes. A widely seen video showed Garner gasping: "I can't breathe," as he was wrestled to the ground in Staten Island by police.

Study: City needs to add more medics, cut firefighters

The report said paid firefighters lacked paramedic credentials and that volunteer firefighters arrive at an emergency as quickly as paid firefighters do

LONG BEACH, N.Y. —
A Long Beach emergency services report concluded the city needs a 24-hour emergency room and additional ambulances and paramedics to serve the community that has been without a hospital since superstorm Sandy closed the Long Beach Medical Center.

The $55,000 study commissioned by the City of Long Beach also recommended reducing the number of paid, full-time firefighter positions to save $2 million.

Analysts from the Washington, D.C.-based ICMA Center for Public Safety Management said the city should add a second ambulance to answer peak calls during 12-hour shifts, in addition to an existing ambulance responding round-the-clock.

Ambulance service since Sandy has been diverted to hospitals in Oceanside and East Meadow.

South Nassau Communities Hospital opened an urgent care facility next to the shuttered hospital on East Bay Boulevard, but it cannot take ambulances or trauma patients.

The report was commissioned last year, before Long Beach officials announced plans to lay off five paid firefighters funded by a two-year $900,000 federal grant that expired at the end of the year. The positions have been extended to Feb. 15.

The report concluded that paid city firefighters lacked paramedic credentials and that the volunteer force of about 150 firefighters usually arrived at an emergency as quickly as paid firefighters did.

The report's review of fire department emergency calls showed that 75 percent of the calls were for emergency services and 23 percent were reports of fires. About 47 percent of the calls for fires were deemed false alarms.

The Long Beach Fire Department "has organizational issues and inefficiencies that require improvement," the report states.

Vets Protest 'Hanoi Jane' Appearance: 'We Haven't Forgotten'

"Hanoi Jane" Fonda is still apologizing for going to North Vietnam 1972, and American Veterans are still letting her know “we haven’t forgotten.”

Fonda's appearance at the Weinberg Center for the Arts in Frederick, Md., on Friday drew about 50 protesters, many veterans of the Vietnam War.

“I’m a lightning rod,” Fonda told her audience, according to the Frederick News-Post. “This famous person goes and does something that looks like I’m against the troops, which wasn’t true, but it looked that way, and I’m a convenient target. So I understand.”

Fonda was a staunch anti-war advocate in the 1970s and an outspoken critic of the U.S. military. During a visit to Hanoi, she was photographed posing with North Vietnamese soldiers on an anti-aircraft gun. The pictures enrage many Americans to this day and earned her to name "Hanoi Jane."

"She encouraged North Vietnam to pull away from the negotiations table,” Army veteran Bob Hartman told the News-Post. "She got Americans killed."

"We haven’t forgotten,” Marine Corps veteran Tommy Grunwell said.

Fonda called her actions a "huge mistake" during her appearance.

“Whenever possible I try to sit down with vets and talk with them, because I understand and it makes me sad,” Fonda said responding to a question submitted from the audience. “It hurts me and it will to my grave that I made a huge, huge mistake that made a lot of people think I was against the soldiers.”

On Friday, protesters held signs saying "Forgive? Maybe. Forget? Never" and waved American flags.

New police radars can 'see' inside homes

At least 50 U.S. law enforcement agencies quietly deployed radars that let them effectively see inside homes, with little notice to the courts or the public.

WASHINGTON —
At least 50 U.S. law enforcement agencies have secretly equipped their officers with radar devices that allow them to effectively peer through the walls of houses to see whether anyone is inside, a practice raising new concerns about the extent of government surveillance.

Those agencies, including the FBI and the U.S. Marshals Service, began deploying the radar systems more than two years ago with little notice to the courts and no public disclosure of when or how they would be used. The technology raises legal and privacy issues because the U.S. Supreme Court has said officers generally cannot use high-tech sensors to tell them about the inside of a person's house without first obtaining a search warrant.

The radars work like finely tuned motion detectors, using radio waves to zero in on movements as slight as human breathing from a distance of more than 50 feet. They can detect whether anyone is inside of a house, where they are and whether they are moving.

HSI Philadelphia's largest cash seizure yields Main Line drug trafficker, money launderer 5 years in prison

PHILADELPHIA — A drug trafficker and money launderer that brought in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigation (HSI) Philadelphia’s largest cash seizure was sentenced to more than five years in federal prison and four years of supervised release after a multi-year investigation.

More than $5 million in cash and assets were seized during the investigation of large-scale drug trafficker Ronald Belciano, age 42, of Newtown Square (formerly Villanova), Pennsylvania. He was sentenced Tuesday to 63 months in prison by a federal judge in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, for conspiracy to distribute 100 kilograms of marijuana in and through central Pennsylvania and conspiracy to commit money laundering between December 2007 and November 2011.

In 2011, Belciano rented a vehicle and filled it with nearly $1.2 million. He paid a co-conspirator to drive it from Pennsylvania to California to pay for marijuana grown on Belciano’s 190-acre property and to purchase from other growers in Northern California. HSI special agents obtained a search warrant for one of Belciano’s homes, located in Villanova, Pennsylvania, and found another nearly $2.6 million in cash along with 1.5 kilograms of marijuana.

‘Bird Chopper’ Wind Farm Fined By Justice Department For Killing Golden Eagles

Power company PacifiCorp will cough up $2.5 million in fines after its Wyoming wind farm was found to have killed 38 golden eagles and 336 other protected birds.

The Justice Department prosecuted the company’s green energy project, asserting that the company failed to build the windmills in a way that would minimize the threat to endangered birds.

“PacifiCorp Energy built two of its Wyoming wind projects in a manner it knew would likely result in the deaths of eagles and other protected birds,” said Sam Hirsch, Acting Assistant Attorney General for the Justice Department’s Environment and Natural Resources Division in a statement in December.

Barack Obama Floated A Blockbuster Policy Change In His State Of The Union That Almost Everyone Missed

And let’s close the loopholes that lead to inequality by allowing the top one percent to avoid paying taxes on their accumulated wealth.

Obama isn’t merely proposing to “increase taxes on the rich” there. That would involve raising the tax rate on what they earn.

What he’s proposing is actually taking a slice of what PEOPLE HAVE ALREADY EARNED.

Obama uses his tax proposal to taunt the GOP

Let’s imagine you were a Democratic president who just lost control of Congress to the Republicans, and you wanted to make it really, really clear that you are not serious about governing. What would you do? Simple: Use your State of the Union address to propose hundreds of billions of dollars in new taxes that will never be enacted, in order to fund a slew of new government programs that have no chance of being approved.

Welcome to President Obama’s 2015 State of the Union address.

On Tuesday night, Obama will ask the new Republican Congress to approve$320 billion in tax increases. To see how absurd this is, imagine for a moment what the reaction would have been if, after losing control of Congress to the Democrats in 2006, President George W. Bush had used his next State of the Union address to propose $320 billion in growth-oriented tax cuts. Would anyone have taken him seriously? The media would have dismissed Bush as delusional. Democrats would have laughed. Everyone would have asked: What’s wrong with him? Didn’t he get the message of the 2006 midterms? What planet is he on?

Obama is not delusional. He knows his plan has no chance of becoming law. White House officials, according to Politico, “aren’t holding their breath that Obama’s new proposals will pass Congress now that Republicans control both chambers.” (Which raises the question why, if Obama were serious, didn’t he propose them when Democrats controlled both chambers?) The goal is for “Obama to position himself as a defender of the middle class” and put Republicans in the “politically awkward” position of resisting tax increases on the rich to pay for programs that benefit the middle class.

Restate of the Union - John Stossel

President Obama sure is consistent. His State of the Union address sounded like his other speeches: What I've done is great! America is in a much better position. We've created a manufacturing sector that's adding jobs. More oil is produced at home. I cut deficits in half!

Give me a break. The deficit is lower now not because of any prudence on Obama's part but merely because the $800 billion stimulus spending blowout didn't continue. All the president does isincrease spending: free community college, free Obamaphones, free birth control, etc. Yes, our annual deficit is lower, but it's still $488 billion! Our $18 trillion national debt increases by $3 million every minute!

Yes, more oil is produced at home, but that's in spite of the administration. Oil production is down on public land.

Yes, the manufacturing sector added jobs, but that's mostly because of cheaper natural gas created by fracking, which Obama's cronies opposed. Also, America isfinally recovering from recession. Obama's policies probably slowed that recovery.

Does the President delude himself when he takes credit for oil production, lower deficits, etc.? Or does he mislead on purpose? I don't know.

More recently he bragged, "I created the lowest unemployment rate in years."He created it? He must know it's "low" only compared to the 10 percent reached during the recession -- and because millions have simply given up looking for work. This recovery is the slowest in 70 years.

MSNBC Guest Says Bobby Jindal is “Trying to Scrub Some of the Brown Off His Skin”

It must be hard for liberals, hiding their seething racism underneath a mask of tolerance every day. Arsalan Iftikhar made the mistake of letting that mask slip and making an incredibly racist comment about Bobby Jindal, who committed the crime of being a minority and also thinking for himself.

Governor Jindal is in London this week where he is addressing the Henry Jackson Society. Governor Jindal publicly denounced “no-go zones.”

MSNBC’s Alex Wagner had Arsalan Iftikhar, founder of TheMuslimGuy.com, on to discuss Governor Jindal’s comments.

“I think Governor Jindal is protesting a bit too much. He might be trying to scrub some of the brown off his skin as he runs to the right in a presidential bid,” said Iftikhar.

Campus police armed with military weapons like semiautomatic rifles, Humvees

Critics fear heightened tensions between officers, students like in Ferguson

Under the same program that has been criticized as “militarizing” local law enforcement, campus police departments have ramped up their armed presence, with Florida State University getting a Humvee and other university officers carrying semi-automatic rifles.

Nearly all police at universities are now armed, with weapons ranging from handguns to pepper spray. About two-thirds of public and private campuses employed armed officials during the 2011-2012 school year, according to a Bureau of Justice Statistics report released Tuesday.

Long Delayed Brentwood Documents Reveal Erroneous Speed Camera Tickets

After years of attempting to obtain documents under the Maryland Public Information Act(MPIA), the Town of Brentwood had turned over documents pertaining to errors by their speed camera program. The long delayed documents reveal evidence of multiple complaints by motorists and obvious erroneous citations.

Years of Delays Accessing Public Records
After receiving reports of erroneous citations in 2010, the chairman of the Maryland Drivers Alliance filed a public information act request with the Town of Brentwood in October 2010 (over four years ago) which the town received via certified mail on October 18, 2010. The town sent no reply within the 30 day time limit permitted under Maryland's transparency law. After several attempts to obtain a response from the two failed, we filed a second request for additional documents. The municipality received that second request via certified mail on December 5, 2011, and again did not respond within the 30 day time limit under the MPIA.

The MPIA is Maryland's equivalent of the FOIA which subjects most types of records to public inspection. Local governments are required by law to respond to MPIA requests within 30 days and are permitted to withhold records only under a limited number of exemptions. There is no provision of state law which permits a local government to ignore an MPIA request from anyone.

I’m Not Paying': Mothers’ Facebook Battle After Boy is Handed a $25 Invoice For Missing Classmate’s Birthday Party

People can do some incredibly petty things, but what one mother did when a little boy missed her son’s birthday party is beyond the pale. Julie Lawrence decided to send the parents a $25 invoice, and is even threatening to take them to small claims court.
Tanya Walsh and her partner Derek Nash were appalled when their son Alex, five, arrived home from school with a £15.95 bill for missing his classmate Charlie Lawrence’s big day at a local ski centre.

After refusing to pay, Alex’s parents were threatened that they would be taken to court.

Since then Miss Walsh and Charlie’s mother Julie Lawrence have become entangled in a war of words.

‘I messaged Julie on Facebook to say sorry and let’s resolve this amicably. And she said: “The amicable way I believe is for you to pay me the money. And let that be a lesson learnt,’ Miss Walsh, 30, said.

‘The next thing I heard she was taking us to small claims court. My partner went to see her and it ended in an argument. She shouted down the street: “Don’t mess with me”.

Traffic Stop near Milton Nets Large Amount of Heroin

Milton – The Delaware State Police have arrested a New Jersey man for possessing a large amount of heroin after he was stopped for speeding.

The incident occurred Tuesday January 20, 2015 around 2:20 p.m. as troopers were conducting speed enforcement as part of a traffic initiative in the area of Coastal Highway (SR1) and Beach Highway (SR16) east of Milton. A blue Nissan Altima was observed traveling southbound on SR1 above the posted speed limit and a traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle just south of SR16. Upon making contact with the operator, identified asDavon Tucker, 32 of Paterson, NJ, and a 29 year old female passenger, the trooper detected an odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. When the trooper inquired into the marijuana, Tucker produced a plastic bag containing approximately 2.8 grams of the substance from the center console and turned it over to the investigating trooper.

Both occupants were then instructed to exit the vehicle while a search was conducted of the car. Troopers soon located a blue plastic bag containing clear freezer bags stamped "Troy 100" inside the trunk. Smaller wax-paper bags were bundled together inside the freezer bags which was determined to be heroin. A total of 14,994 bags with a weight of 224.91 grams were seized during the stop. The street value packaged for distribution is estimated at approximately $150,000.00.

Davon Tucker was taken into custody and transported back to Troop 4 in Georgetown where he was formally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 5 Quantity (Heroin), Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin, Possession of Marijuana with an Aggravated Factor, two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving While Suspended or Revoked, and Speeding. He was arraigned at JP2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $122,601.00 cash bail.

The female was not charged in this case and was released.

Far Left Senator’s Husband to Earn $1 Billion in Government Contracts

One of the most liberal Senators in Washington is California’s Dianne Feinstein. Why, she cares about the little guy, you know? But while she has spent decades dealing with insider info, it seems her husband has also benefitted quite a lot from his wife’s close ties to government. Now we find that Feinstein’s husband stands to earn a cool one BILLION dollars in profits from government contracts he was just *accidentally* awarded. Yes, I meant to write one BILLION.

While Sen. DiFi lectures the rest of us about the evils of the one percent it seems that she and her husband have made a killing off we the tax payers and put herself in the upper one percent OF the one percent!

The US Postal Service plans to sell 56 buildings — so it can lease space more expensively — and the real estate company of the California senator’s husband, Richard Blum, is set to pocket about $1 billion in commissions.

Blum’s company, CBRE, was selected in March 2011 as the sole real estate agent on sales expected to fetch $19 billion. Most voters didn’t notice that Blum is a member of CBRE’s board and served as chairman from 2001 to 2014.

Awesome

Thought you might enjoy this interesting
prayer given in Kansas at
the opening session of their Senate. It seems

prayer still upsets some
people... When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open

the new session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual
 generalities, but this is

what they heard:

Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask
your forgiveness and to seek your direction and
guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those
who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we
have done.
We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed
our values.

We have exploited the poor and called it
the lottery.
We have rewarded laziness and called it
welfare.

We have killed our unborn and called it
choice.
We have shot abortionists and called it
justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline our
children and called it building self-esteem..
We have abused power and called it
politics.
We have coveted our neighbor's possessions
and called it ambition.

We have polluted the air with profanity and
pornography and called it freedom of expression.
We have ridiculed the time-honored values
of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.
Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts
today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free.
Amen!
The response was immediate. A number of
legislators walked out during the prayer in
protest. In 6 short weeks, Central Christian
Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor, logged more than
5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls
responding negatively.. The church is now receiving
international requests for copies of this prayer
from India , Africa and Korea .

With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep
over our nation and wholeheartedly become our
desire so that we again can be called 'one nation
under God.'

No Joke: Obama to Pay for His ‘Free’ Community College by DOUBLE-TAXING Students Who Saved to Go to College

Few things make my blood boil more than tax increases. I’m a firm supporter of Ted Cruz and one of the reasons is he wants to do away with the IRS as it now exists. This whole wealth redistribution under our Marxist-in-Chief is getting really, really tedious. The fact that you or your child can save for their education their whole lives, only to have it taxed, so some freeloader can go to school on your dime, just simply ticks me off. What Obama is saying here is that the more fortunate… those that can afford it (i.e. those who worked and slaved for their money), have a moral imperative to help those who have less get an education as well. Bull puckey. The US has morphed from a Republic into a Marxist regime.

According to a report from Americans for Tax Reform, the President’s recent proposal to provide “free” community college to millions of students will come at a steep price for those who dared to save for college on their own.

The formidable organization released a detailed description of the $320 billion tax hike being proposed and noted that one of the ways in which Obama would like to pay for this “free” community college is to penalize those who planned accordingly.

The report reads: (emphasis added)

On Saturday night the White House leaked the major tax hike details of the president’s upcoming budget. The common theme is higher taxes on savings and investment, totaling $320 billion over the next ten years.

“Democrats are demanding, yet again, tax increases on America. This never ends. When it comes to tax hikes Democrats are like a teenage boy on a prom date: they keep asking the same question different ways but always to the same point,” said Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform.
