A Christmas Miracle
So for Christmas this past year, I wanted to get Jessica something beautiful - something that she would never expect, and moreover would be able to one-up proposing to her Christmas Eve of 2012.
After a month of research and looking through over 10,000 vintage teddy bears on online, I was able to find clues to reconstruct her childhood teddy bear "Whitey." Whitey was given to her as a gift during her mother's baby shower for Jess, so he is technically older than she is!
When I began this venture, Whitey was in two pieces (his head ripped off) and missing an ear, his nose, both eyes, and not to mention half of his stuffing was gone. So, I took him to the Secaucus Doll and Teddy Bear Hospital, and after a week, they were able to restore him to his original glory.
This is the video of my beautiful fiancée seeing Whitey again after so many years. If you notice that in the video she thinks it is just a regular teddy bear (hoping there was a Louis bag underneath), and the rest you will just have to watch and see . . .

The Daily Times - Spreading Discord on Christmas Eve
We have had numerous people contact us about the piece written by Gains Hawkins that is in the online version of the Daily Times.
The decision to run such a distinctly partisan article filled with personal attacks on Christmas Eve, calls into question the thought process of the DT and their motives. So much for peace on earth and good will toward men!
Yes, it is an "opinion" article, but Hawkins comes across as very bitter, offering nothing positive. He is obviously an extremely liberal Democrat who can't get over their resounding loss. This article was a way for him to personally vent and adds nothing helpful to the political discussion.
Wouldn't it be nice, if at the Christmas season, at least one Democrat could wish the Republicans well! What a complete lack of class on behalf of all involved.

George W. Bush pays surprise visit to children's hospital to hand out toys
George W. Bush is nothing if not a good sport.
And in no better way was that illustrated when the former President donned a Santa suit for a hospital visit in Dallas.
The 68-year-old was handing out toys at the Children's Medical Center of Dallas to patients who have to spend Christmas at the facility.
The family that posted the picture of Bush to Facebook lost one of their twin daughters earlier this year to a heart disease called restrictive cardomyopathy.

Judge turns loose thug who posted gun threat against cops
A Brooklyn judge cut loose a gang member who hadposted online threats to gun down cops in the hours after two NYPD officers were executed in their patrol car — ignoring prosecutors’ pleas to keep him behind bars, The Post has learned.
Criminal Court Judge Laura Johnson let Devon Coley, 18, waltz free without bail despite the fact that he faces seven years behind bars on charges he made a terroristic threat — complete with an image of a killer shooting cops in their car — and is awaiting trial in two unrelated cases involving assault and gun possession.
Johnson’s stunning no-bail decision came just two days after Saturday’s broad-daylight slayings of Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu by a gunman bent on avenging the deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown at the hands of police.

Police turn their backs on Mayor de Blasio during funeral for fallen NYPD cop
Hundreds of police officers outside the Queens, N.Y. church Saturday where the funeral of Officer Rafael Ramos was being held turned their backs on Mayor Bill de Blasio as he eulogized the fallen officer who was ambushed last week along with his partner.
De Blasio's remarks were being shown on large TV monitors outside the Christ Tabernacle Church. Police union officials have accused the mayor of fostering a climate of mistrust that contributed to the killings of Officer Ramos and his partner.
More than 25,000 police officers from across the country assembled in winter sunshine to pay final respects to Ramos, a seven-year veteran of the NYPD. The long sea of blue stretched more than six city blocks.

Florida Passes New York to Become Nation's Third Most Populous State
By adding an average of 803 new residents each day between July 1, 2013 and July 1, 2014, Florida passed New York to become the nation’s third most populous state, according to U.S. Census Bureau state population estimates released today. Florida’s population grew by 293,000 over this period, reaching 19.9 million. The population of New York increased by 51,000 to 19.7 million.
California remained the nation’s most populous state in 2014, with 38.8 million residents, followed by Texas, at 27.0 million. Although the list of the 10 most populous states overall was unchanged, two other states did change positions, as North Carolina moved past Michigan to take the ninth spot.
Another milestone took place in Georgia (ranked 8th), which saw its population surpass 10 million for the first time.
North Dakota was the nation’s fastest-growing state over the last year. Its population increased 2.2 percent, followed by the 1.7 percent growth in Nevada and Texas. Each of the 10 fastest-growing states was in the South or West with the exception of North Dakota.

Russian shops show resentment by putting out American flag doormats
Russian business owners are using American flags as doormats as resentment over U.S. economic sanctions puts the squeeze on traders.
Customers have been filmed wiping their feet on the fabled stars and stripes as they enter and exit stores across Moscow, as struggling retailers take a hopeless swipe at their Cold War adversaries.
Negotiations between the two nations are currently deadlocked over Russia's involvement in the Ukrainian crisis and the U.S. has initiated hard-hitting economic sanctions to try and force a compromise.

Inside the push to draft Ben Carson for president
Washington (CNN) -- John Philip Sousa IV has a mission: Convince a retired neurosurgeon with no political experience to run for President -- and then help him win.
Sousa, 67, launched a super PAC last year that has raised millions in an effort to urge Dr. Ben Carson to explore a White House bid. Since the launch, Sousa and his team have proven to be a fundraising powerhouse, raising a whopping $12.2 million from more than 100,000 donors. That even edged out the effort by Hillary Clinton's supporters, who have raised $12.1 million for the "Ready for Hillary" super PAC.
Sousa's group, dubbed the "National Draft Ben Carson for President Campaign Committee," is laying the groundwork for a presidential campaign in early voting states with plans to open a second office in Iowa later this month.
If Sousa's last name sounds familiar, that's because it should. He's the great grandson of John Philip Sousa, the composer known for his patriotic music.

Made Change to Comcast Internet Service Yesterday - My ISP Speed Is Now 12 times Faster
Hi Joe
After being frustrated with Comcast for months - I finally decided to schedule a Comcast technician for a site visit to determine where the bottleneck was happening as I informed them that I was about to go public on SBYnews. My previous internet speed would start at about 27-30 Mbps - and fall down to around 9-10 Mbps within just a few days each time Comcast would do a remote modem reset. It appears that the older Comcast modem - (Ibee - name brand) - was breaking down intermittently - and not allowing my full bandwidth.
So Comcast came out yesterday and they swapped out their older modem and I got their latest newer model combination CISCO modem/router.
So far so good as I have been experiencing blistering internet speed at 124 - 126 Mbps. It's almost as if everything is happening instantly, and, it is 12 times faster than what I had before.
There are quirks however, as the newer modem supports their newer email service operating platform - IMAP - whereas before their older modem supported a (POP3) email platform - which they are now doing a way with. So - the transition hit some snags that required me to employ a Microsoft technician to make the transition - because my Microsoft email stopped working.
Take - look at the speeds I am now getting.

Tensions High in St. Louis Suburb After Police Shoot Man Who They Say Drew Gun on Officer
Protesters clashed with police in a St. Louis suburb Tuesday night after an 18-year-old man was shot by an officer who said the suspect drew a firearm on him.
The deceased was identified as Antonio Martin by his mother, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He was shot in Berkeley County, a community close to Ferguson where a controversial grand jury decision led to riots in November.
According to the St. Louis County police, an unidentified Berkeley, Mo. officer was conducting a routine business check at a Mobil gas station when he noticed two individuals on the side of the building.
When approached, police said one of the men pulled a handgun and pointed it at the officer. The officer, who feared for his life, fired multiple shots at the individual, killing him, according to the St. Louis County police.

PSA Encourages Kids To Steal Parents’ Guns And Turn Them In To Teachers
A provocative public service announcement released by a San Francisco-based production company encourages children to put themselves at risk and commit a slew of crimes by stealing their parents’ guns from home and turning them in at school.
In the anti-gun ad, published Dec. 13 by Sleeper 13 Productions, a boy who appears to be in his early teens is shown walking up the stairs of his home and wandering into his mother’s bedroom.
The boy is shown opening the drawer to his mother’s dresser, where a handgun is hidden.
The boy takes the gun from the dresser and leaves the room. The ad then flashes to his school. Sitting in a classroom, the boy ventures up to his teacher’s desk after the rest of his classmates have left.
The tension building in the scene breaks, and the boy produces the gun from his backpack, slamming it on his startled teacher’s desk.
“Can you take this away? I don’t feel safe with a gun in my house,” the boy says.

NAACP Says Guns, Not Protests To Blame For Cop Killings
The NAACP Legal Defense Fund issued a statement Saturday insisting that lax gun control laws, not the ongoing police brutality protests, led to the execution-style killings of two New York City officers.
“These two killings … like so many other unfortunate incidences of gun violence, provide a stark example of the need for sensible gun control measures, and the need to thoughtfully address untreated mental illness,”the statement said.
“While some may suggest a causal link between these killings and the recent protests and activism focused on the serious issue of police violence against unarmed African Americans, we caution against escalating an already tense national state through rumor and conjecture,” it said.
“Whatever motivation lay in the apparently troubled mind of the now deceased shooter of these officers,” the NAACP statement continued, “there is no connection between the peaceful protests of thousands of people of all races all over the country and, indeed, around the world, and this hideous act of violence.”

Police Checkpoints: I'm Not Doing Anything Wrong, But I Definitely Have Something to Worry About
Every year around this time, it just isn’t the holiday season if you don’t end up stuck in a long line of traffic going through a mandatory DUI checkpoint. The cops are looking for people drinking and driving, and this unconstitutional search has been upheld by the Supreme Court.
And every year around this time, when I say it is a violation of my rights, someone chimes in:
“If you aren’t doing anything wrong, you don’t have anything to worry about.”
It’s entirely possible that if I hear this argument one more time this year, I’m going to have something to worry about, because there’s going to be the body in my trunk.
I was involved in a conversation on a thread online about these checkpoints and I was deeply saddened by the dozens of people who think having their rights violated is a wonderful thing. They simply can’t wrap their heads around how very wrong this is, what a slippery slope that we are stepping onto, and how this is an entry into the police state in all its glory.

Pedestrian Accidents Declined in Baltimore After Speed Cameras Turned Off
When Baltimore shut down their speed camera program after the discovery of widespread errors including speeding tickets issued to stationary vehicles, some worried that traffic safety in school zones would be harmed by the move. However accident data from the city did not support that this has happened. According to the Baltimore Sun:
"According to Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration data, no pedestrians were injured by vehicles in city school zones in 2012 or 2013. In 2012, Baltimore had 83 speed cameras monitoring motorists and generating millions of dollars in revenue. In 2013, Baltimore's speed cameras were turned off for all but about three weeks. They have not been turned on since.More
Citywide, 261 pedestrians under age 18 were injured by vehicles, with one killed, when the cameras were running in 2012. In 2013, with the cameras off, 221 young pedestrians were injured and none killed.
Adrienne Barnes, a spokeswoman for Baltimore's Department of Transportation, called the statistics a "positive development" that shows the agency is improving safety."
His ONLY Wish....Somerset County Sheriff's Office Requests Your Help
It
is with a heavy heart that we make this post today. We have learned
that one of our own, Deputy Chuck Salvas ( also retired Maryland State
Police Sergeant), is terminally ill and only has a very short time left
with us. His only wish, to be able to take his family (especially his 6
yr old daughter) on a vacation after the holidays. Simply put, he can't
afford to do it. So we, his brothers in law enforcement, want to make
this happen. We are pleading for donations from the general public,
businesses, civic organizations, fire departments, fraternal
organizations and whom ever else would donate to this wonderful cause.
We need your help, Chuck and his family need your help. Please make
checks or money orders made payable to the Somerset Co. Sheriffs Office
c/o Lt. George Nelson. You may put Chuck Salvas Fund in the memo
section. Donations can be mailed (30426 Sam Barnes Road Westover, MD
21871) or dropped off at the office. We thank you and beg for your
assistance in this effort. Please help us carry out this wish!!! Please
pass this on as well.
More information can also be found at the link below.
There has been a GOFUNDME account set up click HERE
Here is a message from Chuck from the GOFUNDME page
Let me start off saying thank you to everyone reading this right now! My name is Chuck and I have been diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer. This cancer has changed my life as well as my families life drastically. I am retired from the State of Maryland after giving 26 years in law enforcement. I have a wife and 6 beautiful kids who depend on me and have stood by my side during this hard time in my life. I have gone through my 3rd surgery recently and I am told that I have 2 months to live. Although my family and I always knew my cancer was terminal and that they know very little about how to treat my brain cancer it was still the worst news my family could hear at this time. I would like to take a trip with my family if I am strong enough, on the first of the year. My youngest daughter is 6 and I want to make as many memories with her as possible.
Any money that is left over will go towards my burial and medical bills to help my wife with that burden. We all go though life not knowing what tomorrow will bring. With that said, hug your loved ones longer and always let them know you love them. You can't plan for tomorrow to make things right or wish you had done more. Treasure each moment!
Ex-CIA Pilot Gives Sworn Testimony That No Planes Hit The Twin Towers
A former CIA and civilian pilot has sworn an affidavit, stating that no planes flew into the Twin Towers as it would have been physically impossible.
John Lear, the son of Learjet inventor, Bill Lear, has given his expert evidence that it would have been physically impossible for Boeing 767s, like Flights AA11 and UA175 to have hit the Twin Towers on 9/11, particularly when flown by inexperienced pilots:
‘No Boeing 767 airliners hit the Twin Towers as fraudulently alleged by the government, media, NIST and its contractors’, he stated in the affidavit.
‘Such crashes did not occur because they are physically impossible as depicted, for the following reasons: in the case of UAL 175 going into the south tower, a real Boeing 767 would have begun ‘telescoping’ when the nose hit the 14 inch steel columns which are 39 inches on center.
‘The vertical and horizontal tail would have instantaneously separated from the aircraft, hit the steel box columns and fallen to the ground.
‘The engines when impacting the steel columns would havemaintained their general shape and either fallen to the ground or been recovered in the debris of the collapsed building.
‘No Boeing 767 could attain a speed of 540 mph at 1000 feet above sea level ‘parasite drag doubles with velocity’ and ‘parasite power’ cubes with velocity.

Painkillers Kill More Than Heroin and Cocaine Combined
Yes, prescription painkillers do in fact take more lives per year than two of the hardest illegal drugs in the nation — surpassing both heroin and cocaine in their total related deaths.
It all has to do with how these prescription pharmaceuticals work in the brain, and how many individuals around the country are easily acquiring them to feed their deadly habits.
Because after all, who said legal drugs were all that different from illegal drugs in many cases?
Prescription painkillers are known to ‘numb’ the pain, which is achieved by their ability to bind to brain receptors and decrease your body’s ability to process pain signals. As a result, it’s easy to enter into this ‘feel good’ state to the point of serious addiction and even physical dependence. Think similarly to a heroin user who needs to inject the drug multiple times a day in order to reach the ‘high’ that they have become accustomed to.

Daycare Provider Charged after Leaving Children Unattended
Newark - The Delaware State Police have arrested a Bear area daycare provider after she left two children unattended in a vehicle while she shopped.
The incident began on Friday, December 19, 2014, at approximately 12:20 p.m. after troopers were told to respond to the parking lot of the Pencader Plaza Shopping Center located at 100 Pencader Plaza Drive, Newark, for the report of two children that had been left unattended in a vehicle. Prior to their arrival, however, troopers were advised that the vehicle had been towed to All Hooked Up Towing, located at 80 Aleph Drive, Newark.
Upon their arrival at the tow company, troopers made contact with a 32 year old male employee who advised them that he had just repossessed the vehicle, a 2007 Dodge Aspen, from the Pencader Plaza Shopping Center parking lot. The employee advised that prior to towing the vehicle, he did not notice anyone in the car, which had dark tinted windows and several large boxes blocking the view to its rear. Upon reaching the tow yard he began to unhook the vehicle at which time the employee heard children's voices coming from inside of the car. It was then that the employee located a five year old female and a 1 year old female in the third row seat of the car. He then contacted 9-1-1.
Troopers then responded to the Pencader Plaza where they made contact with the children's daycare provider, Tonya F. Robinson, 40, of Bear, who had also contacted 9-1-1 after discovering her vehicle missing. Robinson was then taken into custody and transported to Troop 6, Prices Corner, where she was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. She was then arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $4000.00 unsecured bail.
The children, who were not injured and in good health, were turned over to a second daycare provider who transported them back to the residential daycare and turned them over to their parents.

MIKULSKI: FEDERAL WORKERS DESERVE A COLA AND OUR APPRECIATION FOR THEIR HARD WORK
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Barbara A. Mikulski (D-Md.), Chairwoman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today praised President Obama’s announcement of a one percent Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) for civilian federal employees next year.
“This pay increase for federal workers is well deserved and appropriate, and I’m pleased that the President has made good on the plan that we worked out as part of the Omnibus budget,” Senator Mikulski said. “I’ve been Chairwoman of the Appropriations Committee for two years and today’s decision marks two straight years of COLAs for two million federal employees following three prior years of pay freezes. I’ve always been proud to advocate for federal workers, who work on the front line each and every day on behalf of the American people. Federal employees have been undervalued and underappreciated for too long. Each and every day, federal employees stand up for America. That is why I will continue to work to end the era of government shutdown, government on autopilot and pay freezes.”
As Chairwoman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Senator Mikulski was instrumental in fighting to end the three year pay freeze for federal employees. Since that time, the President has been able to implement his plan for a one-percent COLA for federal employees on the General Schedule (GS) Pay Scale. The COLA will take effect on January 1, 2015.
Last year, Mikulski was able to end the pay freeze for white-collar and blue-collar federal workers. Senator Mikulski has worked consistently to ensure that spending laws written under her watch put funds in the federal checkbook to pay for COLAs.

North Korea threatens to 'blow up' the White House
After claiming to find 'clear evidence' that the GOVERNMENT was behind controversial Sony film The Interview
North Korea has threatened more attacks against the U.S. government and other American institutions in the wake of the hack on Sony which cancelled the release of The Interview.
The government - which was outraged by the film showing the assassination of leader Kim Jong Un - also claimed to have 'clear evidence' that the U.S. government engineered the project as a 'propaganda' attack against North Korea.
In a ranting post published by the state news agency KCNA, Korean authorities hit back in an escalating war of words in which they say they will 'blow up' the White House - while bizarrely continuing to deny they have anything to do with the cyber attacks on Sony.

De Blasio accused of having 'blood on his hands'
Hundreds attack New York City Mayor for backing anti-cop protesters before two officers were shot dead 'in revenge for Garner'
Many are blaming the murder of two New York City cops on Saturday afternoon on Mayor Bill de Blasio following his recent support for protesters in the city marching in opposition to a grand jury's decision to not indict the police officer who killed Eric Garner.
Hundreds have taken to social media to say that de Blasio has 'blood on his hands' and should 'be charged with murder' after the two men were killed 'execution style' in Brooklyn.
What's more, many feel that de Blasio should not attend the officers' funerals, this after many members of the NYPD signed a petition asking that the Mayor not attend their service should they be killed in the line of duty in light of his recent actions.
This as hundreds of NYPD members turned their backs on de Blasio as he entered a news conference Saturday afternoon.
These same officers later lined the streets outside the Woodhull medical Center and silently saluted as the bodies of the two slain officers were taken away.
Pat Lynch, president of the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association, said in a statement; 'That blood on the hands starts on the steps of City Hall in the office of the Mayor.'
Mayor de Blasio responded to this, saying in a statement; 'It's unfortunate that in a time of great tragedy, some would resort to the irresponsible, overheated rhetoric that angers and divides people.'

The Democratic Party Killed Two Cops in New York
A lynch mob is all fun and games until someone actually gets lynched.
At first everyone has a good time marching around and shouting “Black Lives Matter” and “I Can’t Breathe.” The police are accused of being racist killers by the defenders of actual racist killers like Mumia Abu Jamal. Every community organizer within a thousand miles shows up to brandish signs claiming cops are randomly killing innocent black men even as he spits and throws bottles at any cop within reach. Not to mention engaging in the occasional act of convenience store redistribution.
The Mayor of New York City announces that his ridiculously famous son has to be afraid of the police. Obama agrees that his imaginary son also has to be afraid of the police. Their claims are equally plausible.
The lynch mobs make it their mission to invade holiday events, protest parades and scream racist rants. Then they begin attacking police officers. The media insists that protests whose participants chant, “What do we want? Dead cops!” are peaceful.
This homicidally insane definition of “peaceful” had only previously been applied to Islam.
And then, shockingly, surprisingly, out of the blue, protests led by Al Sharpton featuring violent attacks on cops finally achieve their goal with the murder of two police officers.
