President Obama About To Give The Final Blow To The U.S. Economy

REPORT: AFTER WH MEETS WITH BIG BIZ, OBAMA MAY USE EXEC ACTIONS TO INCREASE GUEST-WORKER VISAS

After White House officials reportedly met with big-business groups, President Barack Obama is considering executive actions that will give them more guest-worker visas in the high-tech and low-skilled sectors.

This may come on top of Obama's potential grants of amnesty and work permits to millions of illegal immigrants in the country. While outside groups are urging Obama to "go big," Senate Democrats have expressed some concerns of late, as poll numbers have shown that executive amnesty may cost them control of the Senate. The White House is reportedly reaching out to big-business groups on guest-worker visas so they can give Obama air cover on his potential executive amnesty.

According to a Politico report, senior White House aides earlier this month met with "more than a dozen business groups and company officials to discuss potential immigration policy changes they could make." According to the outlet, "Oracle, Cisco, Fwd.US, Microsoft, Accenture, Compete America, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce" were represented at the meeting.

Solar Plant's Downside? Birds Igniting In Midair

Workers at a state-of-the-art solar plant in the Mojave Desert have a name for birds that fly through the plant's concentrated sun rays - "streamers," for the smoke plume that comes from birds that ignite in midair.

Federal wildlife investigators who visited the BrightSource Energy plant last year and watched as birds burned and fell, reporting an average of one "streamer" every two minutes, are urging California officials to halt the operator's application to build a still-bigger version.

The investigators want the halt until the full extent of the deaths can be assessed. Estimates per year now range from a low of about a thousand by BrightSource to 28,000 by an expert for the Center for Biological Diversity environmental group.

America’s top prep schools can cost $1 million per family

Going to a top private school could cost an American family with two children nearly $1 million—or $500,000 per child. But short of that, sending your kids to any better-quality school—even a public school—can considerably increase the costs of being a parent.

Tuition at top-tier prep schools—those awarded a 9/10 or 10/10 by the national non-profit GreatSchools—averages about $40,000 a year for fees, according to new research by real-estate website Trulia. “You could be talking about $1 million for families with more than one child for the best prep schools,” says Mark Hamrick, Washington, D.C. bureau chief with personal finance site Bankrate.com.

NAACP HOLDS 9th ANNUAL BACK TO SCHOOL RALLY

Salisbury, MD… Wicomico County Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) welcomed students and families to Salisbury Middle School for its 9th annual Back-to-School (BTS) Rally. The BTS Rally is a local presentation of the national NAACP’s “Back-To-School/Stay-In-School “(BTS/SIS) programs, and operates under the theme REACH: ‘Reaching Educational Achievement by Completing High School.’ The purpose of the Rally is to inspire children of pre-k to middle school age to return to school equipped to do their school work and motivated to study and learn in all their classes.

The Rally displayed the talents of young people. Fifth grader Tyler Jones gave a powerful motivational speech. Other student speakers led parents and guardians in reciting the Parent’s Pledge and led students in a pledge to do well in school. The Prince Street ‘CRAZY’ Steppers (CRAZY = confident, resilient and zealous youth) and Moves of Praise liturgical dancers gave stellar performances.

Community and school leaders Dr. John E. Fredericksen, Rick Pollitt, and Sheree Sample-Hughes were among the speakers. Organizations such as the Wicomico Health Department and the Wicomico Partnership for Families and Children provided resources for families. The Edge-u-cators, a band of school employees, also performed. Rev. Mark Thompson served as the emcee.

All students received needed supplies such as books, paper, pens, spiral notebooks, pencils, crayons, folders, backpacks, index cards, scissors, highlighters, binders, etc. [supplies were distributed according to grade level requests]. Businesses and civic organizations such as Pohanka, Pepsi, Life Crisis, the Office of Sen. Barbara Mikulski, and the Salisbury City Police Department donated items or provided funding.

Why Were The Police In Ferguson Told Not To Stop The Rampant Looting On Friday Night?

On Friday night, the city of Ferguson, Missouri was absolutely packed with militarized police. But when the looting started, they did nothing about it. In fact, news reports indicate that the police were lined up just blocks from where the looting was happening but did not make any attempt to stop it. When I first read the news reports that I am about to share with you, I could hardly believe them. I had to read them more than once just to be sure that I was understanding what I was reading.

According to eyewitnesses, police vehicles were seen driving by some of the stores while they were being looted and they did not respond. If the police are not even going to lift a finger to stop rampant theft, then what in the world are they there for? Why don’t they just pack up and leave the streets completely? If they are just there to confront protesters and arrest journalists, all they are accomplishing is inflaming the situation. And is this what we can expect when civil unrest spreads to more cities throughout America? Will we not be able to depend on the police to protect our homes and our businesses?

What I am about to share with you are excerpts from mainstream news reports about how the policedid nothing to stop the looting. To me, this stand down by the police is one of the most disturbing aspects of the Ferguson riots so far.

Wind farm 'needs 700 times more land' than fracking site to produce same energy

Shale gas site 'creates the least visual intrusion' compared with wind or solar farm for same energy, according to Government's former chief scientific advisor on energy

A wind farm requires 700 times more land to produce the same amount of energy as a fracking site, according to analysis by the energy department’s recently-departed chief scientific advisor.

Prof David MacKay, who stood down from the Government role at the end of July, published analysis putting shale gas extraction “in perspective”, showing it was far less intrusive on the landscape than wind or solar energy.

His intervention was welcomed by fracking groups, who are battling to win public support amid claims from green groups and other critics that shale gas extraction will require the “industrialisation” of the countryside.

Hundreds of anti-fracking protesters on Thursday occupied a field near Blackpool neighbouring a proposed fracking site for energy firm Cuadrilla.

Prof MacKay said that a shale gas site uses less land and “creates the least visual intrusion”, compared with a wind farm or solar farm capable of producing the equivalent amount of energy over 25 years.

Police: Carjacker Shot, Killed After Throwing Female Driver to the Ground

On August 15 a 29-year-old carjacker was reportedly shot and killed by a good Samaritan after pulling a Phoenix-area woman from her car, throwing her to ground, and driving off with her vehicle.

According to police he also nearly ran down a female onlooker who tried to intervene.

According to Fox 10 Phoenix, the suspect, police said, "approached a woman getting out of her car across the street from Loma Linda Elementary." He asked if he could borrow her phone; she said "no" because she did not know him.

The suspect then allegedly "grabbed" the woman, threw her to the ground, and climbed into the driver's seat.

Three little girls retake viral photo to celebrate remission from cancer

As three little girls gathered to get their picture taken on Saturday, the mood was quite a bit lighter than the last time the children were photographed together just a few short months ago.

Back then, Rheann Franklin, 6, Ainsley Peters, 4, and Rylie Hughey, 3, each battling cancer, came together for an emotional photo session in April with Oklahoma photographers Lora Scantling and Christy Goodger. The image taken that day, after the girls met for the first time in the studio, touched the hearts of people all over the world.

When the girls reunited on Saturday, it was to share in happy news: In July they confirmed they are each in remission. To celebrate, they got back together with Scantling and Goodger to put an even more positive spin on the beautiful scene that went viral earlier this year.

Wal-Mart's Sales Stagnation Reignites Concern About U.S. Economy

Wal-Mart Stores Inc.’s latest struggles to revive U.S. sales, following a disappointing Commerce Department report earlier this week, add to evidence that the economy isn’t recovering as quickly as expected.

The company posted stagnant same-store sales in its second-quarter earnings report, marking the sixth straight period of no growth. The world’s largest retailer also cut its earnings forecast for the year, citing higher spending on health care and e-commerce.

The sluggish results followed disappointing earnings from Target Corp. and Macy’s Inc. this month, signaling that a broad swath of retailers are struggling. The Commerce Department’s report on July retail sales was the weakest in six months, hurt by tepid wage growth. While some of Wal-Mart’s woes reflect a shift away from big-box retailers, many consumers appear to be simply keeping their wallets shut.

The Rutherford Institute :: From Boston to Ferguson: Have We Reached a Tipping Point in the Police State?

“I thought I was losing my capacity to be shocked -- but events in Missouri over just the last couple of hours have crossed a frightening line, one that makes me pray that this assault on fundamental American values is just the aberration of one rudderless Heartland community, and not the first symptoms of nation gone mad with high-tech weaponry to keep its own citizens in line.”—Journalist Will Bunch

The difference between what happened in Boston in the wake of the Boston Marathon explosion and what is happening now in Ferguson, Missouri, is not in the government’s response but in the community’s response.

This is what happens when you ignore the warning signs.

This is what happens when you fail to take alarm at the first experiment on your liberties.

This is what happens when you fail to challenge injustice and government overreach until the prison doors clang shut behind you.

Consider that it was just a little over a year ago that the city of Boston was locked down while police carried out a military-style manhunt for the suspects in the Boston Marathon explosion. At the time, Americans welcomed the city-wide lockdown, the routine invasion of their privacy, and the dismantling of every constitutional right intended to serve as a bulwark against government abuses.

BREAKING NEWS: Obama says Iraqi, Kurdish forces retake Mosul Dam

President Obama says Iraqi and Kurdish forces -- with the help of U.S. airstrikes -- have retaken the Mosul Dam from ISIS militants.

From Fox News

What is the difference between http and https?

Don't know how many of you are aware of this difference, but it is worth sending to any who do not.

The main difference between http:// and https:// is it's all about keeping you secure. HTTP stands for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol.

The S (big surprise) stands for "Secure." If you visit a website or web page, and look at the address in the web browser, it will likely begin with the following: http://

This means that the website is talking to your browser using the regular "unsecured" language. In other words, it is possible for someone to "eavesdrop" on your computer's conversation with the website. If you fill out a form on the website, someone might see the information you send to that site.

This is why you never ever enter your credit card number in an http website! But if the web address begins with https://, that basically means your computer is talking to
the website in a secure code that no one can eavesdrop on.

If a website ever asks you to enter your credit card information, you should automatically look to see if the web address begins with https://.

If it doesn't, you should NEVER enter sensitive information....such as a credit card number, SS #, etc.

While in New Hampshire, O’Malley says events in Missouri show need for healing

During an appearance at a Democratic picnic in New Hampshire on Sunday, Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) said the unrest in Ferguson, Mo., highlights divisions in the country that will require urgent “work of the heart” to heal.

O’Malley, who is preparing for a possible 2016 White House bid, also touted his work in Maryland, including raising the minimum wage, “driving down” the violent crime rate and legalizing same-sex marriage. He characterized the latter as part of his state’s effort to create “a more open and caring and loving society.”

O’Malley’s appearance in Somersworth, N.H., at an event hosted by the Stafford County Democrats, was his third visit since November to the nation’s first presidential nominating state. An audio recording of O’Malley’s remarks Sunday afternoon was shared by an aide with The Post.

Pelosi Subsidies Benefit Husband’s Investment in Dem Mega-Donor’s Company

CEO donated to Pelosi, bundled for Obama, as Dem leader boosted his real estate holdings

The top Democrat in the House of Representatives steered more than a billion dollars in subsidies to a light rail project that benefitted a company run by a high-dollar Democratic donor and in which her husband is a major investor.

When cloud computing giant Salesforce sold a large plot of land to the Golden State Warriors in April, it had House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) to thank for helping to swell real estate prices in the area.

Pelosi has worked for more than a decade to steer taxpayer funds to a light rail project in San Francisco’s Mission Bay neighborhood, where Salesforce had planned a new campus. Experts say the project boosted the value of Mission Bay real estate.

The company’s CEO, Marc Benioff, is a high-dollar Democratic donor. Pelosi and her leadership PAC are among the recipients of his generous campaign contributions. Pelosi’s husband is also a major Salesforce investor.

Bear, DE - A 30 year old Middletown, DE man has been arrested after displaying a weapon and assaulting a police K-9 in an incident that occurred early Sunday morning.

The incident began at approximately 1:40 a.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2014, after troopers responded to the Las Palmeras Restaurant and Night Club located at 144 Fox Hunt Drive, Fox Run Shopping Center, Bear, DE, for the report of a man with a gun. As troopers arrived they were contacted by a 36 year old male victim who advised them that a male suspect, later identified as Carlos E. Garcia-Antonio, 30, of Middletown, DE, had pointed a handgun at him after confronting him in the parking lot of the business. As troopers attempted to contact Garcia-Antonio in the parking lot of the restaurant, he fled on foot running toward Pulaski Highway. A state police K-9 was then deployed and was able to knock Garcia-Antonio to the ground. However, Garcia-Antonio kicked the K-9 and then fled again through the parking lot. The K-9 was able to engage Garcia-Antonio a second time at which time he was placed under arrest. Garcia-Antonio was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to the Christiana Hospital where he was treated for his injuries. There were no other injuries as a result of this incident. Al Sharpton: Michael Brown May Have Been Guilty of 'Shoplifting, Not Robbery'

Reverend Al Sharpton, speaking to a congregation in Ferguson, Missouri, on Sunday, excoriated police for releasing a video in which someone, who appears to be shooting victim Michael Brown, is seen robbing a convenience store. The person resembling Brown stole a $50 box of cigars.

Sharpton stated:
I have never in all my years seen something as offensive and insulting as a police chief releasing a tape of a young man trying to smear him before we even have his funeral or his burial. First of all, if this is the young man, y’all quit trying to exaggerate. That was shoplifting, not robbery. … Robbery, you break in, stick something up. Shoplifting, you take some cigars. It’s wrong if he did it, but call it what it is.

Nearly Every Mass Shooting Has This One Thing In Common, And It Isn’t Weapons

Whenever gun crimes are perpetrated, liberals love to point the finger of blame at law-abiding gun owners, but a list of mass shooters from the past 20 years proves that they all had one thing in common – and it wasn’t the weapons used.Evidence shows that the common factor in nearly every mass shooting is that all of the perpetrators were either actively taking powerful psychotropic drugs or had been taking them at one point before committing their crimes.

Multiple credible scientific studies going back more then a decade, as well as internal documents from certain pharmaceutical companies that suppressed the information show that SSRI drugs ( Selective Serotonin Re-Uptake Inhibitors ) have well known, but unreported side effects, including but not limited to suicide and other violent behavior. One need only Google relevant key words or phrases to see for themselves. www.ssristories.com is one popular site that has documented over 4500 “ Mainstream Media “ reported cases from around the World of aberrant or violent behavior by those taking these powerful drugs, according to the Liberty Crier.

**UPDATE** One Charged another Sought for Attempted Murder in King’s Market Shooting

Lincoln-Troopers have charged a 22 year old Lincoln man and are actively searching for another suspect in a shooting over the weekend, which has left a 21 year old man with a gunshot wound to his lower leg.

Preliminary investigation has determined that the incident occurred on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at approximately 12:20 p.m. as cousin’s, Joshua Daniels-18 of Lincoln, Delaware and Timothy Daniels-22 also of Lincoln, arrived in a Ford Taurus at the parking lot of the King’s Market located at 20639 Fleatown Road, Lincoln, Delaware. As both subjects exited the vehicle, a physical altercation occurred between Joshua Daniels and the 21 year old victim. The altercation was broken up and Joshua Daniels and Timothy Daniels fled the area in the car.

After fleeing the scene, Joshua Daniels drove to a relative’s house and retrieved a semiautomatic handgun. The duo returned to the market with Joshua Daniels behind the wheel of the Ford and Timothy Daniels in the passenger seat. As he approached the market, Joshua Daniels slowed the vehicle and stopped, firing 6 rounds from within the vehicle, out of the open front passenger window, in the direction of the 21 year old victim, a 19 year old man, and a 57 year old man who were standing in the parking lot of the market. The 21 year old victim was struck once in the lower leg. He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released. Portable Meth Lab Uncovered in Felton

Felton-Troopers have arrested and charged a 44 year old Felton man after it was discovered that he had a methamphetamine manufacturing operation contained in a shed on his property.

Preliminary investigation has determined that on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at approximately 2:38 p.m. Troopers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Bayberry Lane in Felton to investigate an unrelated cell phone theft complaint and possibly locate a suspect connected to the theft. Troopers made contact with an occupant of the residence identified as Robert B. Kibler-44 and inquired if the suspect involved in the cell phone theft was inside of the residence. Kibler consented for Troopers to search the house where the suspect was subsequently found hiding inside. After further investigation and a search of a shed on the property, Troopers observed a strong odor of ammonia and chemicals inside of the shed, indicative of a clandestine lab operation, including equipment utilized to manufacture methamphetamine. Troopers also observed a marijuana plant growing inside of the shed.

After further investigation and a subsequent search of the shed, Troopers located 6 bottles that were determined to be active “one pot” portable meth labs utilized to manufacture methamphetamine, along with components and key ingredients in making the drug.

Troopers were assisted by the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control and specialized local Delaware Volunteer Fire Company teams during the dismantling of the portable meth labs and cleanup and mitigation process to dispose of the waste. (Photo of Trooper dismantling lab attached)

No evacuations were ordered as it was determined that there was no immediate threat or hazards to nearby residents. Bayberry Road was closed for approximately 2 hours while the incident was investigated and cleared.

Robert B. Kibler was taken into custody without incident and charged with Operating a Clandestine Lab, Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Manufacturing Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was arraigned and committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $15,000 Secured Bond. (Booking photo attached)
Troopers continue to investigate this incident.

Is QA County about to allow state to dump urban problems on Kent Island?

Something strange is happening in my town of Stevensville, on Kent Island, and we citizens are flummoxed! With state money, the county is about to build a large homeless shelter, in a town with a very low poverty level, far from most of the county's needy, and close to the western shore city populations. The state also granted money to extend the county's rural "County Ride" bus service (designed for seniors, disabled and needy) over the bay bridge to Annapolis.

Citizens are asking: Why this terrible location, used by so many kids? How did this project never come before our planning commission? Why was the public kept in the dark? Why do our county commissioners, or our state legislators get defensive and refuse to answer any questions? Is the state dumping it's urban concerns on Kent Island in exchange for favors to our commissioners?
- Why does the Office of Planning and Zoning suggest I contact an attorney if I want to know the window for filing an appeal of the approval?
- Why, when I as simple questions of Maryland DHCD, (completed applications, proof of public participation fullfillments, status of loan funding, etc) am I referred directly to Attorney General Doug Gansler?

The BIG story part 1 - the location, while zoned properly, is adjacent to the secluded public bike/run trail and a large park used by all the community sports leagues. ALSO it's right between, and less than 700 feet from, the high school and elementary school grounds. This location is used by many kids, K-12, on a daily basis.

Bottled Water Comes From the Most Drought-Ridden Places in the Country

Bottled-water drinkers, we have a problem: There's a good chance that your water comes from California, a state experiencing the third-driest year on record.

The details of where and how bottling companies get their water are often quite murky, but generally speaking, bottled water falls into two categories. The first is "spring water," or groundwater that's collected, according to the EPA, "at the point where water flows naturally to the earth's surface or from a borehole that taps into the underground source." About 55 percent of bottled water in the United States is spring water, including Crystal Geyser and Arrowhead.

The other 45 percent comes from the municipal water supply, meaning that companies, including Aquafina and Dasani, simply treat tap water—the same stuff that comes out of your faucet at home—and bottle it up. (Weird, right?)

But regardless of whether companies bottle from springs or the tap, lots of them are using water in exactly the areas that need it most right now.

A Witness Conversation Unknowingly Captured at the Scene of the Ferguson Shooting is a Game-Changer

A previously unnoticed detail in a background conversion of a video taken minutes after the Ferguson shooting could change the course of the investigation into Mike Brown’s death.
The original video poster appears sympathetic to the narrative that Mike Brown was shot unarmed with his hands in the air. But he unknowingly picks up conversation between a man who saw the altercation and another neighbor.
An approximate transcription of the background conversation, as related by the “Conservative Treehouse” blog:

How Jay Leno, George W. Bush, And A '57 Buick Trumped All The Million-dollar Ferraris Auctioned At Pebble Beach

In the spending orgy that Pebble Beach week has seemingly become, I witnessed something special last night that will probably get lost in all the talk of $38-million Ferrari GTOs.

There was a 1957 Buick Caballero Estate Wagon on offer at Gooding that carried a pre-auction estimate of $100,000-$125,000. For those of you not familiar with the '57 Caballero Estate, it's a pillarless hardtop station wagon—a rare car that stood atop the 1957 Buick lineup. Being a wagon fan, it was on my list to follow after checking it out at Thursday's preview.

As the car rolled up to the block, David Gooding introduced Jay Leno, whose Big Dog Garage restored the car at no cost to benefit The George W. Bush Military Service Initiative, which honors post 9-11 veterans and works to help them transition back to civilian life.

The Buick, signed by President Bush, sold for a staggering $300,000

Then something magical happened.

NYC TEACHERS UNION PRESIDENT SIDES WITH AL SHARPTON AGAINST POLICE

The President of the United Federation of Teachers (UFT) in New York City has started a firestorm between two of the city’s most powerful unions by co-sponsoring Al Sharpton’s anti-police rally in Staten Island, NY on August 23rd.

According to the New York Post, President of the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association Pat Lynch “fired both barrels” at UFT President Michael Mulgrew in a letter to the Post after the teachers' union sent an “action alert” email to members promising free transportation to Sharpton’s demonstration – one that has been billed as a march for justice for “victims of police brutality.”

UFT is joining Sharpton’s National Action Network, the NAACP, and local 1199 SEIU at a rally that will feature the family of Eric Garner, a 43-year-old black man who died of a heart attack last month while police were reportedly holding him around the neck after he resisted an arrest for the sale of untaxed cigarettes on the street. Police said Garner had more than 30 arrests.

“Mr. Garner’s death was a tragedy for the city,” Mulgrew said when asked about UFT’s involvement in Sharpton’s demonstration. “Teachers want to help ensure that something like this doesn’t happen again.”

Stirring The Pot: DOJ Sends ‘Marshals’ To ‘Coach’ The Protesters In Ferguson

Is the Obama administration looking to stir up more trouble in Ferguson? “Protest marshals” from the same Department of Justice division that organized protests against George Zimmerman in the aftermath of the shooting of Trayvon Martin have been deployed to the troubled city. It is being reported that these DOJ agents will be “conducting training” for Ferguson protesters that will focus on “best practices for participating in protests”. Local officials in Missouri hope that this will help defuse the situation, but if history is any guide it may end up doing just the opposite. According to the head of Judicial Watch, the Community Relations Service of the Department of Justice “has a record of racially inflammatory rhetoric that is extreme in ideology and cynical in its politics”. Could these Ferguson protests ultimately be used to take us to the next level in the inflammation of racial tensions in America?

What we have seen play out in Ferguson over the past few days demonstrates so much of what is wrong in this country.

The initial rioting and looting in the city was a prime example of the extreme social decay that is eating away at the foundations of our nation. And it showed how rapidly the streets of our major cities could potentially descend into chaos.

Beware of Alarm System Scam

Alarm Engineering
August 12, 2014

I want to alert you to a disturbing situation that recently occurred. I received a call from a long time customer and good friend asking for help. He and his wife, a retired couple living in Salisbury, were approached by a door-to-door salesman apparently working for the cable company. The salesman asked if they wanted additional cable channels and features at no charge. They let the salesman in the house to sit down and talk it over.

During his "pitch", the salesman asked to see their alarm system, which confused the homeowner, as he thought they were talking about cable channels. He clearly stated to the salesman that he did not want to change his alarm system, and the conversation turned back to HBO, etc. The homeowners signed up for the additional channel offerings, but later realized upon reviewing their paperwork, that they had also unknowingly contracted to replace their existing alarm system.

Luckily, they were still within the three day grace period (required by federal law) in which you can cancel contracts signed in door-to-door situations. After multiple calls to various phone numbers, voicemails and lots of time on hold, they were able to reach the right department to cancel the agreement.

Be careful anytime you are approached by someone you did not invite or make an appointment with. Be aware of what you're signing up for when you agree to add on features with any service provider. We can leave the entertainment to the cable companies, but when it comes to your safety and security, stick with the local professionals you know and trust.

Stay Safe,

Should Police Have To Wear Cameras
And Have Dash-Cams?

Could They Be Related?

Eight years ago I published a story HERE talking about how I held out my hand and a butterfly landed on it.

This past weekend I was telling my Grandson about this story as we had seen a butterfly roaming around the property. I told him how I stuck my hand out and the butterfly landed right on it. Of course he stood there in disbelief until I said, OK, watch. I put out my hand in the air and on cue, well, check it out!
This morning I typed in "butterfly" in the search bar and found my original story and showed it to my Grandson. Cool stuff.

Will Pa. officials let Perdue violate the Clean Air Act? By Ray Wallace

A year ago Lancaster County, Pa. Commissioner Scott Martin held a media event supporting taxpayer-subsidized Perdue’s application to permanently release hundreds of tons of the hazardous neurotoxin Hexane into Pa. air.

Referring to the fact that Perdue’s proposal had been announced years before, U.S. Rep. Joe Pitts said, "Our country can't afford to keep standing in the way of great opportunities like this one."

Also supporting Perdue’s polluting plans were state Rep. Dave Hickernell and officials from the Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority.

Conoy Township Supervisor Gina Mariani urged the state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to issue Perdue the necessary permits.

Now, another year later, the Agriculture Council of Lancaster has revealed that Perdue itself is the reason the DEP review continues to drag on:

During start up and shut downs, the hexane levels can apparently be higher than everyday operation levels, and if DEP would accept an "average" hexane level, rather than a daily output level, Perdue would be more willing to agree to DEP's level.*

Translation:

Perdue continues trying to create a Pa. loophole so it can get away with daily dumping more toxic Hexane into the air than legally allowed by the Clean Air Act.
