The president’s “if you like it” bait-and-switch on insurance is not the only pledge that will be broken under ObamaCare. Press Secretary Jay Carney appeared to step back from the second part of President Obama’s oft-repeated campaign promise: that Americans could keep their doctors if they like them. Carney hinted consumers could lose their doctors too saying, “So, if you are looking for, if you want coverage from your doctor, a doctor that you've seen in the past, and want that, you can look and see if there's a plan in which that doctor participates in.”
[Asked at a WSJ forum what he might have done better in implementing ObamaCare, the president blamed Republicans for failing to help him in “fixing glitches and fine-tuning the law.” Washington Examiner has more.]

Watchdog Group Seeks Probe Of Special Health Insurance Perks Offered Only To Congress
An ethics watchdog group wants Congress to investigate whether concierge-style health insurance perks offered to lawmakers and staff violate the congressional gift ban.
The Washington-based Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics, or CREW, sent letters to the House and Senate ethics committees on Wednesday calling for a probe following a New York Times report about Congress receiving special health care services from insurers that are not available to average Americans.
The special services include help navigating the insurance exchanges, a greater number of health plans from which to choose or help in avoiding having to join an insurance exchange at all.

The Daily Bell - Census Fakery and Banana Republics
Census 'faked' 2012 election jobs report ... In the home stretch of the 2012 presidential campaign, from August to September, the unemployment rate fell sharply — raising eyebrows from Wall Street to Washington. The decline – from 8.1 percent in August to 7.8 percent in September – might not have been all it seemed. The numbers, according to a reliable source, were manipulated. And the Census Bureau, which does the unemployment survey, knew it. Just two years before the presidential election, the Census Bureau had caught an employee fabricating data that went into the unemployment report, which is one of the most closely watched measures of the economy. – NY Post
Dominant Social Theme: The US is the leading country in the world, and the most civilized.
Free-Market Analysis: What leaps out from this information is the extent to which the US has fallen. And there is a larger question: How long can informed citizens be subject to disinformation at all levels of their lives before they become disheartened and even sickened?

WhoWhatWhy Bush And The JFK Hit, Part 10: After Camelot
If Poppy Bush was busy on November 22, 1963, so was his friend Jack Crichton. Bush’s fellow GOP candidate was a key figure in a web of military intelligence figures with deep connections to the Dallas Police Department – and as previously noted, to the pilot car of JFK’s motorcade.
Crichton came back into the picture within hours of Kennedy’s death and the subsequent arrest of Lee Harvey Oswald, when a peculiar cordon sanitaire went up around Marina Oswald. The first to her side was Republican activist and precinct chairman Ilya Mamantov, a vociferous anti-Communist who frequently lectured in Dallas on the dangers of the Red menace.
When investigators arrived, Mamantov stepped up as interpreter and embellished Marina’s comments to establish in no uncertain terms that the “leftist” Lee Harvey Oswald had been the gunman – the lone gunman – who killed the president.
It is interesting of course that the Dallas police would let an outsider – in particular, a right-wing Russian émigré – handle the delicate interpreting task. Asked by the Warren Commission how this happened, Mamantov said that he had received a phone call from Deputy Police Chief George Lumpkin. After a moment’s thought, Mamantov then remembered that just preceding Lumpkin’s call he had heard from Jack Crichton.
It was Crichton who had put the Dallas Police Department together with Mamantov and ensured his place at Marina Oswald’s side at this crucial moment.
Despite this revelation, Crichton almost completely escaped scrutiny. The Warren Commission never interviewed him. Yet, as much as anyone, Crichton embodied a confluence of interests within the oil-intelligence-military nexus. And he was closely connected to Poppy in their mutual efforts to advance the then-small Texas Republican Party, culminating in their acceptance of the two top positions on the state’s Republican ticket in 1964.

‘IT’S KIDNAPPING’: HOSPITAL TAKES CUSTODY OF TEEN BECAUSE HER PARENTS WERE ‘TOO ACTIVE IN PURSUING’ HER CARE
A 15-year-old is stuck in a Boston hospital after the medical facility took custody of her when her parents argued against her diagnosis.
For the last nine months, Justina Pelletier has been sneaking messages to her parents in Connecticut through folded origami notes.
“It is kidnapping,” Lou Pelletier, the girl’s father, told WTIC-TV.
The local news station investigated the case, for which a judge later issued a gag order, and has the background leading up to the ongoing custody battle:

The Gravest Threat To Freedom
Sacred Monarchs have been overthrown by military leaders throughout all 5,000 years of statism. Caesarism is ancient. Bonapartism is the modern version of Caesarism. We see it happening every day in the world’s media. The Egyptian Army and secret police just overthrew the first elected, democratic government in Egypt’s history. (I believe for many reasons the CIA is behind this and supplies the vital war materials and money and intelligence to the Egyptian Army, but the U.S. government is openly against the take-over in the Media.)
The vast secret police armies and their immense militias of former agents and contractors, about 5,000,000 of whom have secret clearance in the U.S., are far more dangerous to freedom and democracy and legitimate government than the professional military, especially when they have heavy weapons and Special Ops of their own, as the Gestapo, KBG, and CIA have had. Putin moved up to totalitarian power by combining power from the KGB, MVD, and Red Army. He pretends to be an “elected, constitutional” leader, but he is a modern Caesar Augustus, total ruler behind a front of republican government that is ultimately powerless. The Bushes did the same in the U.S.
The first real coup at the presidential level in the U.S. was the military-CIA coup during Iran-Contra. I think the military guys clearly took over and did what they wanted to do. Bush I, the CIA Director who decided to become Vice President and then President was almost certainly the point man running the coup, not Admiral Poindexter, et al. Reagan was out to lunch. The Special Prosecutor said in his book on it that he ran into Stone Walls in all directions–protecting Bush, the CIA, the Admirals and Captains, etc.

Immigration Bill To Allow More Terror Refugees?
Amid reports several dozen suspected terrorists may have been allowed to resettle in the U.S. as war refugees, a note text buried in the Senate’s immigration-reform bill would bring more such refugees from Afghanistan.
The legislation contains a small section that increases by more than threefold the number of Afghans eligible for immigration to the U.S. under a special asylum program, as WND was first to report.
The legislation also further expands the previously strict qualifications for immigration from Afghanistan and allows for more family members to join admitted asylum seekers.

More Obamacare Promises Are Going Up In Smoke
The millions of health coverage cancellation notices that have gone out in recent weeks have thoroughly debunked President Obama's pledge that if Americans like their health care coverage, they can keep it. The president, along with the many other Democrats who made the same promise, is now paying a political price for his words.
But the keep-your-coverage promise was just part of the Obamacare sales job. Obama, then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and top Democrats made all sorts of claims in their effort to convince a skeptical public to accept a complicated, far-reaching national health care scheme. Here are three promises that might cause serious trouble in the days to come:
1) Obamacare will save your family $2,500 a year.

SCHOOLS KEEP TEXTBOOK THAT 'WHITEWASHES' ISLAM
A school board in Florida, which wields considerable influence on the curricula of public schools nationwide, has decided to keep a controversial world history textbook that has been criticized for sanitizing Islam’s violent history while diminishing Christianity.
The decision Monday by the Volusia County board, without a formal vote, came after hearing four hours of public comment, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reported.
The dispute over the “World History” textbook published by Prentice Hall escalated earlier this month after a Deltona High School parent complained about its treatment of Islam to a friend, who organized a protest rally before the School Board’s scheduled Nov. 5 meeting. The meeting ended up being canceled due to unspecified “security concerns” raised by the U.S. Justice Department.

Auditors: Dozens Of Va. Psychiatric Patients Denied Access To Care
Attack on Va. Sen. Creigh Deeds, allegedly by his son, raised new questions about lack of access to treatment
Virginia state auditors say they have opened an investigation following reports that Gus Deeds -- who sources said stabbed his father, state Sen. Creigh Deeds, before killing himself Tuesday -- was not able to find room in psychiatric treatment programs throughout much of the state.
Published reports have said Gus Deeds was released from Bath Community Hospital Monday following a mental health evaluation performed under an emergency custody order. The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported that a psychiatric bed could not be found for Gus Deeds at the time of his release over a wide area of western Virginia.
The next day, state police found Creigh Deeds stabbed multiple times in the head and torso; the son, Gus Deeds, was found dying of a gunshot wound to the head.

Md. Senate Leaders Forecast Some Business Tax Relief
State Senate leaders told a business group Wednesday that they expected to see some sort of small business tax relief in the coming legislative session, possibly coupled with an increase in the minimum wage.
Speaking to a Howard County Chamber of Commerce breakfast, Sen. Ed Kasemeyer, chairman of the Budget and Taxation Committee, said that a work group of his committee wants to “do something” on the subchapter-S small business pass-through tax rate. Pass-through tax businesses pay tax on business income at the individual rate.
“We just have a concept in mind” and no details, said Kasemeyer. The work group includes fellow Howard County Democrat Jim Robey, the new Senate majority leader and a budget subcommittee chairman, who also attended the breakfast.

Frederick County Sheriff Vows To Protest Immigration Legislation
Frederick County Sheriff Chuck Jenkins has vowed to call every Maryland legislator in protest if a proposed bill curtailing enforcement of immigration law is introduced in the state's 2014 General Assembly.
State Sen. Victor Ramirez, D-Prince George's, announced Tuesday plans to introduce the Maryland Trust Act, which would eliminate local law enforcement agencies' involvement in detaining immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally.
"This is a backdoor effort to destroy secure communities," Jenkins said. "What they're trying to do is create a state law to break federal law. ... This is another step toward another level of social chaos in this state."

What "Car Salesman" Ben Bernanke Said At Dinner Last Night
What Ben Bernanke Said At Dinner Last Night
Last night I attended a private function put on by the National Economists Club where the guest of honor was none other than Ben Bernanke. You can read his full speech to the attendees here.
Meanwhile, I'm still trying to figure out how a guy with my views was even allowed in the room.
But since I was already scheduled to be in the US this week to speak at a conference in Miami, I jumped at the chance to enjoy Bistro Filet and economic doublethink.
I've always wanted to find out for myself-- does this man actually believe that printing money is the path to prosperity?
As it turns out, he does believe it.

The 5 Economic "Big Lies" The Government Is Telling You
According to a whistleblower that has recently come forward, Census employees have been faking and manipulating U.S. employment numbers for years. In fact, it is being alleged that this manipulation was a significant reason for why the official unemployment rate dipped sharply just before the last presidential election. What you are about to read is incredibly disturbing. The numbers that the American people depend upon to make important decisions are being faked. But should we be surprised by this? After all, Barack Obama has been caught telling dozens of major lies over the past five years. At this point it is incredible that there are any Americans that still trust anything that comes out of his mouth. And of course it is not just Obama that has been lying to us.
Corruption and deception are rampant throughout the entire federal government, and this has been the case for years. Now that some light is being shed on this, hopefully the American people will respond with overwhelming outrage and disgust.
The whistleblower that I mentioned above has been speaking to John Crudele of the New York Post. In his new article entitled "Census ‘faked’ 2012 election jobs report", he says that the huge decline in the unemployment rate in September 2012 was "manipulated"...

Congress Takes Up Probe Of Fake Unemployment Data
The House Oversight Committee has joined an investigation into the faking of Census Bureau unemployment data that began in the New York Post Sunday.
“These allegations are shocking,” Republican Rep. Blake Farenthold of Texas, chairman of the subcommittee on Federal Workforce, U.S. Postal Service and the Census, wrote in a letter Monday night to U.S. Census Bureau Director John H. Thompson. “If true, there may be a systemic problem at the Philadelphia Regional Census Office, where the alleged data fabrication occurred. These allegations also raise the prospect that the fabrication of data is a widespread problem.”
Farenthold was referring to Jon Crudele’s Post story quoting a Census employee reportedly caught faking results, as well as an anonymous source asserting that the corruption is widespread.

Second Wave Of Health Plan Cancellations Looms
A new and independent analysis of ObamaCare warns of a ticking time bomb, predicting a second wave of 50 million to 100 million insurance policy cancellations next fall -- right before the mid-term elections.
The next round of cancellations and premium hikes is expected to hit employees, particularly of small businesses. While the administration has tried to downplay the cancellation notices hitting policyholders on the individual market by noting they represent a relatively small fraction of the population, the swath of people who will be affected by the shakeup in employer-sponsored coverage will be much broader.

Police 'Stop And Frisk' Coming Under Fire
The city police department's stop and search policies are coming under fire from a civil liberties group.
The ACLU is calling on the city police department to more carefully monitor so called stop and frisk tactics.
The group has accused police of failing to keep track of how officers do their job.
The ACLU obtained search and arrest figures from the department under the Freedom of Information Act and found that last year there were more than 123,000 instances of people being stopped and searched.

30 To 40 Percent Of Obamacare Tech Not Built
One of Obamacare’s top IT officials admitted Tuesday that 30 to 40 percent of its infrastructure hasn’t even been built yet — including the payment systems that actually get money to the insurers.
Henry Chao, the deputy chief information officer of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and one of the highest tech officers in charge of Obamacare’s implementation, revealed this during congressional testimony.
Republican Colorado Rep. Cory Gardner repeatedly asked Chao just how much work was left to do on the federal exchange. While Chao initially said 60 to 70 percent of HealthCare.gov remained undone, after Gardner’s dogged questioning, Chao concluded that 30 to 40 percent of the IT systems are yet to be built.

Exemptions To Obamcare Doled Out To President's Supporters
While most of the nation is facing the prospect of getting healthcare through the Obamacare exchanges, the administration continually has doled out exemptions to the law to its political allies.
Labor unions, which were some of the more ardent supporters of getting the law passed, have been on the receiving end of numerous administration exemptions to the law.
The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) political action committee, for example, spent $27 million toward electing President Barack Obama and several of their local unions have been recipients of waivers to the law's provisions.

Senate Immigration Bill To Boost House Democrats By 2020
The Senate’s immigration bill would transfer another eight House seats to Democratic-dominated states before many of the extra immigrants become citizens, according to a new study by the Center on Immigration Studies.
Three seats will shift in 2020 because the census counts everyone — including non-citizen immigrants, guest-workers and illegal immigrants — when it reapportions the House’s 435 seats among the 50 states.
Another five seats would be moved by the 2030 census if the bill becomes law, said Steven Camarota, the author of the study and the research director at the group that pushes for low immigration levels.

On the 150th anniversary of President Lincoln’s reading of the Gettysburg Address, Dan Joseph of the Media Research Center interviewed college students at George Mason University to see how much they know about arguably one of the most famous speeches ever given.
The short answer? It’s not pretty.

SOWELL: A VERY DANGEROUS GAME
New York City police authorities are investigating a series of unprovoked physical attacks in public places on people who are Jewish, in the form of what is called "the knockout game."
The way the game is played, one of a number of young blacks decides to show that he can knock down some stranger on the streets, preferably with one punch, as they pass by. Often some other member of the group records the event, so that a video of that "achievement" is put on the Internet, to be celebrated.
The main reason for many people's surprise is that the mainstream media have usually suppressed news about the "knockout game" or about other and larger forms of similar orchestrated racial violence in dozens of cities in every region of the country. Sometimes the attacks are reported, but only as isolated attacks by unspecified "teens" or "young people" against unspecified victims, without any reference to the racial makeup of the attackers or the victims—and with no mention of racial epithets by the young hoodlums exulting in their own "achievement."

Students Suffer ObamaCare Sticker Shock As Premiums Soar, Plans Get Cut
While millions of Americans are watching their individual polices get canceled due to ObamaCare regulations, the new health care rules are also having a major impact on college campuses.
For decades, universities and colleges have offered students bare-bones policies. But because of the Affordable Care Act, those policies no longer cut it – and universities are forced to decide whether to offer significantly higher-cost plans or cancel coverage altogether.
The new rules affect a broad swath of American schools, especially the small ones.
At Bowie State University in Maryland, the cost of student health insurance policies went from roughly $100 a year to $1,800 a year.

INTENDED KNOCKOUT GAME VICTIM SHOOTS BACK
Smith and Wesson trumps faulty stun gun
The newspaper in Lansing, Mich., came so close to getting it right: An intended victim of the Knockout Game pulled a gun and shot at his attacker. So far so good.
This version of the game had a twist: Instead of punching the victim in the face, the predator used a taser – a KL-800 Type Stun Gun capable of generating 1.8 million volts.
The assailants had scouted the site, the victim and even practiced firing the taser. But then it all went wrong. Or right.
When Marvell Weaver jammed the taser into the ribs of the still unidentified man and pulled the trigger, it jammed. The target pulled out his .40 caliber Smith and Wesson and shot Weaver as he tried to escape to the getaway van where two of his accomplices waited.

Craig Calls For Elimination Of Common Core National Test
Today being part of Education Week in Maryland, it is only fitting that we address a major issue that will impact our schools, teachers and students for years to come.
That issue is the introduction of Common Core Standards and the national test that accompanies it. (See the recent Washington Post article, 11/20/2013 http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/md-politics/md-gop-hopeful-david-craig-calls-for-exit-from-new-common-core-education-testing/2013/11/20/febf93f0-51e5-11e3-9e2c-e1d01116fd98_story.html)
As Harford County Executive and a candidate for Governor, I call for the state's withdrawal from the Common Core national test due to a lack of clarity over how much the new system will cost, my concerns about test questions, and that only 9% of teachers in Maryland feel ready to implement it.
There are red flags going up everywhere threatening the statewide
K-12 education system and it's time to cut our losses now. The Common Core experiment has its own set of issues and the national test that is lumped in with it just compounds the problem.
What is happening is that the State Department of Education has embraced a federal education agenda that forces too many changes onto teachers and students at once and it is time to put the word 'Maryland' back into our schools.
As for the testing, The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers, which goes by the letters PARCC, is a national testing organization that received part of a $330 million federal grant to implement the test in 18 of the states that have adopted Common Core. Despite the federal grant, the organization estimates the cost to administer the test will be nearly $30 per student, at least $2 million more than the current state test which is being phased out.
So far, Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Oklahoma and Utah have opted to remove the test from their respective state classrooms.
The truth is, I have not seen one example of a government expenditure coming in below estimate. This is a floor of what taxpayers can expect to pay to implement the PARCC test rather than a ceiling. Let's see the bill because whatever the final amount due is, it will be coming out of the budget for teacher salaries, school supplies and building construction.
In Harford County Public Schools, we budgeted $18.5 million to implement the test. At a stop at a county public school classroom this week, I took note of the confusion over the wording of a test question that baffled the teacher, the student, and even me, as well.
This illustrates the problem with outside groups designing tests where there is no accountability in the classroom. When I was a teacher, we developed our own tests and our students then could measure up with any other student across the globe. We are making this far too complicated. Let teacher's teach!

Ron Johnson: Obamacare 'Massive Fraud' Pushed On American Public
President Barack Obama's repeated promise, echoed by other Democrats, that Americans can keep their healthcare plans was "fully vetted, coldly calculated and carefully crafted" to sell Obamacare, Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson accuses in this week's GOP address.
“Those assurances weren't slight exaggerations or innocent shadings of the truth,” Johnson said Saturday morning, The Hill reports.
“It was a political fraud echoed relentlessly by House and Senate Democrats who should be held accountable for the disastrous consequences of their grand deception," Johnson said.
Meanwhile, the "massive fraud" committed by Obama and Democrats would "bear serious legal ramifications" had it been in the private sector, rather than in the government, said Johnson. He also accused Obama of giving a "phony" apology that did not acknowledge fully his administration's responsibility in the misinformation.
