Amazon Bans ‘Conversion Therapy’ Books
Amazon has taken another step towards political censorship, banning all books by Dr. Joseph Nicolosi, a psychologist associated by critics with the rise of “gay conversion therapy.” This follows its ban on a book by Islam critic Tommy Robinson earlier this year.
According to LGBT news site PinkNews, the online retailer took action against Nicolosi’s books after repeated complaints by U.K. citizen Rojo Alan.
This is the latest in an increasing trend of digital book-burning by Amazon, the company founded and owned by anti-Trump billionaire Jeff Bezos.
In February, the company banned several far-right, white nationalist authors. In March, the company went further, banning Muhammed’s Koran, a book by Islam critics Tommy Robinson and Peter McLoughlin highlighting violent passages in the Islamic text.

Attorney General Frosh Joins Coalition Defending Human Rights of Immigrant Children in Civil Detention
BALTIMORE, MD (July 10, 2019) – Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh today joined a coalition of attorneys general in filing an amicus brief to defend the human rights of immigrant children in civil detention in the United States. In the brief filed with the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the coalition urges the court to grant immediate relief to remedy the imminent threat to the health and welfare of immigrant children detained by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Under theFlores Settlement Agreement, children have the right to safe and sanitary conditions of detention and prompt release or placement at a state-licensed facility. However, under the Trump Administration, immigrant children have been held for weeks in inhumane conditions without access to basic necessities like soap, clean water, toothbrushes, showers, or a place to sleep.
“The Trump Administration is separating young children, including toddlers, from their parents. They are crowding these kids in freezing warehouses without sufficient food, beds, blankets or bathroom facilities. The conditions are unsafe and unsanitary, and the children who have become ill as a result are not receiving the medical care they need notwithstanding the valiant efforts of the few medical professionals available to them, ” said Attorney General Frosh. “The treatment of these children in the custody of the United States of America is a disgrace. It is illegal and inhumane. It must cease.”
For more than two decades, the federal government has been required to meet minimum standards for the facilities in which immigrant children may be confined. These minimum standards, established in theFlores Settlement Agreement, require, among other things, that CBP facilities holding children following arrest must be safe and sanitary. They must also provide children with enumerated services, including access to toilets and sinks, drinking water and food, medical assistance, and adequate supervision.
However, CBP is blatantly failing to comply with its obligations under the court-monitored FloresSettlement Agreement. Children are being denied access to safe and sanitary conditions, clean drinking water, and medication. In addition, young children are irresponsibly and dangerously tasked with the care of toddlers and infants. This treatment inflicts irreparable harm on children under CBP custody, where hospitalizations continue to occur. The federal government’s blatant disregard of its obligations under theFlores Settlement Agreement conflicts with federal statutory requirements that immigration authorities consider “the best interest of the child” when taking action with respect to unaccompanied immigrant children.
In addition to Maryland, the brief was joined by the attorneys general of California, Massachusetts, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Hawai’i, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington.

Democratic megadonor Ed Buck now facing allegations of human trafficking, revenge porn
Ed Buck, the California Democratic megadonor suspected in the deaths of two black men who suffered fatal crystal methamphetamine overdoses in his home 18 months apart, is now facing allegations of human trafficking and revenge porn, according to a new report.
The Daily Beast reported that the family of 26-year-old Gemmel Moore has made the new allegations as part of an ongoing civil case against Buck, who has donated tens of thousands of dollars to Democratic Party candidates in California and is well known in LGBTQ political circles. Moore died of a methamphetamine overdose in July 2017. He was found naked on a mattress in Buck’s living room, which was littered with drug paraphernalia.
The complaint by Moore's family previously alleged that Buck injected Moore with crystal meth and required Moore to view “hardcore gay male pornography which played loudly on a large flatscreen television set,” while engaging in sex acts, according to the Beast.

Newt Gingrich: Pelosi Dealing with 'Virtually Crazy' Freshman Dems
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was "essentially right" with her comments about the lack of influence that far-left Democrats, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, are having on the party, ex-Speaker Newt Gingrich said Monday.
"I think you're beginning to see the bloom come off of the excitement the Democrats had after they won last year," Gingrich told Fox Business' Maria Bartiromo. "Speaker Pelosi, who I think is essentially right in this argument, is really faced with some people who are virtually crazy, and she doesn't know what to do with them."
In an interview with The New York Times' Maureen Dowd, Pelosi downplayed the influence wielded by Ocasio-Cortez and fellow Reps. Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley.

Melania states the obvious about Christine Blasey Ford
Just like millions of American women, Melania Trump pinned Christine Blasey Ford, the first accuser of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, for a liar in her fantastic tale of high school sexual assault.
Here's the New York Post:

Here's the New York Post:
First lady Melania Trump warned her husband that Dr. Christine Blasey Ford was not being truthful when she accused Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her in high school, according to a new book.
"You know that woman is lying, right?" Melania told the president, in an episode recounted in Justice on Trial: The Kavanaugh Confirmation and the Future of the Supreme Court, the New York Post reported. The book is slated for a Tuesday release.
Authors Mollie Hemingway, senior editor of the Federalist, and Carrie Severino, chief counsel and policy director of the Judicial Crisis Network, claim in their upcoming book that the first lady was one of many women who were skeptical of Ford's testimony that Kavanaugh raped her while drunk at a high school party.

'Urgent and Desperate'
The world’s largest supplier of consumer goods says China’s factories are getting “urgent and desperate” as worried U.S. retailers accelerate a move out of the country amid heightened trade tensions.
China will see more factory shutdowns as the trade war that’s roiled the global supply chain exacerbates an exodus, said Spencer Fung, chief executive officer of Li & Fung Ltd. The company, which designs, sources and transports consumer goods from Asia for some of the world’s biggest retailers including Walmart and Nike, is being pushed by American clients to shift production out of China.
“U.S. clients are definitely very, very worried,” Fung said in an interview with Bloomberg. “Everyone is making razor-thin margins already and most people have a huge percentage in China. So if the biggest source increases the price by 25%, they are worried,” he said, referring to the scale of tariffs threatened on all Chinese imports to the U.S. by President Donald Trump.
Though Fung didn’t specify Walmart by name, the U.S. retailer is the company’s second-biggest customer after Kohl’s, accounting for 7.6% of revenue, according to Bloomberg data. A spokeswoman for Walmart declined to comment.

The Democrats’ Situational Racism
Democrats and their media allies are floundering in the face of a covfefe-strength hurricane of great economic news and an incumbent president who is fulfilling his campaign promises. What he hasn’t yet accomplished is not for lack of trying; instead the unfinished agenda is attributable to a hostile Congress and Judiciary.
When all else fails for the left, they drag out the race card. Why not? It’s worked in the past, ushering in our first black president in 2008. At least that’s how Barack Obama is described. In reality he is only half black, with a black father (officially the Kenyan Barack Senior, or possibly Frank Marshall Davis, according to some). His mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, was as white as Joe Biden or Elizabeth Warren.
The media of the time called for the half-white portion of Obama’s heritage to be ignored rather than muddy the waters of his being America’s first black president. Yet during the Obama presidency, for different political reasoning the media went out of its way to make a point of the mixed heritage of another individual, specifically George Zimmerman.

OCPD officers located Drummond walking away from the fishing pier on the north side of the Jolly Roger amusement park. Troopers Arrest Laurel Woman For Discharging Firearm-Seaford
Seaford– The Delaware State Police have arrested a Laurel woman after a domestic argument led to her discharging a firearm.
The incident occurred on July 9, 2019 at approximately 10:29 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to N. Paula Lynn Drive, Seaford, for a report of a domestic. Upon arrival, contact was made with a 37-year-old male who advised that he and his girlfriend, 43-year-old Toya D. Roberts had engaged in a verbal altercation. Roberts proceeded to leave the residence when she pulled out a firearm and shot the tire of a vehicle that was parked in the driveway. The victim was outside during this timeframe and did not sustain injury. Roberts left the residence in her vehicle prior to police arrival.
Troopers located a shell casing at the scene and observed that the vehicle sustained a flat tire and damage to it’s rim from the gunshot.
Roberts was contacted and turned herself in at Troop 5 where she was charged with the following:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Reckless Endanger First Degree

The Taliban Have Won In Afghanistan
On June 26 two US special forces soldiers were killed in Afghanistan, bringing the total of US military personnel who have died in that useless war to 2429, according to iCasualties, an independent casualty tracker.
No matter what one might think about the rights and wrongs of the war in Afghanistan, it is sad to record such fatalities, and the question that comes to mind is: What did they die for?
According to the US State Department the military are there because “we continue to invest US resources to help Afghanistan improve its security, governance, institutions and economy,” and the Pentagon says “the principle goal… is to conclude the war in Afghanistan on terms favourable to Afghanistan and the United States.”

Appeals Court Dismisses Maryland, DC Lawsuit Challenging President's Ownership Of DC Hotel
A federal appeals court on Wednesday ordered the dismissal of a lawsuit brought by Maryland and the District of Columbia claiming President Donald Trump is accepting illegal profits from foreign and state government visitors at his Washington hotel.
A three-judge panel on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit ruled unanimously not on the merits of the case, but on the plaintiffs' legal standing.
Attorneys General Brian E. Frosh, of Maryland, and Karl A. Racine, of the District of Columbia, filed the suit in 2017, seeking to invoke the Constitution's little-tested emoluments clause. The decision halts numbers of subpoenas to federal agencies and Trump's business entities for records related to the hotel that had been sought in the case.

Shut Down: Blackface-Wearing VA Governor's Special Anti-Gun Session Has Been Torpedoed By Republicans
It's over! Virginia Republicans adjourned the special session on party-lines votes and won't take up any new votes until after the election. They grew a spine. This is a great day and a win for constitutional rights. House of Delegates Speaker Kirk Cox called the session "premature."
Senate motion is to adjourn until November 18 at 12 noon
Senate Majority Leader Tommy Norment won't take questions, since motion is parliamentarily not debatable.

Report: Pentagon Should Assume US Satellites Are Already Hacked
As U.S. and its allies tether more of their military operations to government and commercial satellites, they need to start taking cyber-security more seriously.
The U.S. and its allies need to double down on the cyber-security of their satellites as space infrastructure becomes ever more integral to national security, according to a recent report.
The Pentagon and other western military forces rely heavily on space-based systems to guide weapons, gather intelligence and coordinate operations around the globe, but security gaps in their satellite infrastructure threaten to bring those functions to a grinding halt or worse, researchers at the London-based think tank Chatham House found.
As adversaries like Russia and China ramp up their offensive cyber capabilities, they said the western world needs to lock down its space infrastructure against potentially crippling attacks. And in the meantime, “it would be prudent” for countries to assume their systems have already been infiltrated.
