Poland, Austria to Quit UN Migration Compact: ‘We Want Poles to Be Safe in Their Own Country’

“We as the Republic of Austria can decide for ourselves on migration issues.”

Austria may join the U.S. and Hungary in withdrawing from the United Nations (UN) migration pact, Sebastian Kurz has said, following news that Poland is preparing to quit the agreement over security concerns.

At a press conference Wednesday, the Austrian leader cited concern over sovereignty relating to the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, which claims that huge movements of people across borders are “inevitable, necessary, and desirable”.

“We view some of the points in this agreement very critically. We will therefore do everything to maintain the sovereignty of our country and ensure that we as the Republic of Austria can decide for ourselves on migration issues,” Reuters reported the Chancellor as saying.

Speaking after a cabinet meeting, Kurz told journalists that the Danish government has expressed similar concerns over the agreement, which was previously signed by all UN member nations except the U.S., which withdrew last year.

Vice-chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache, from the populist Freedom Party, added that the government is looking into the legal implications of the document.

I Watched ‘Gosnell.’ Here Are My 5 Takeaways.

After I saw “Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer,” I was disheartened—and at same time, incredibly thankful.

I’m thankful because finally, the horrific true story of Kermit Gosnell, the late-term Philadelphia abortionist who went to prison after being convicted in connection with the deaths of three babies, is being told.

But I’m depressed that such a story even exists.

Trump snubs Feinstein, Harris to nominate conservative judges to liberal 9th Circuit

President Trump is plowing ahead to fill three vacancies on the liberal 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, brushing aside Democratic resistance to nominate conservative judges.

Presidents traditionally work with senators from judicial nominees' home state -- in this case, California -- to put forward judicial picks. They often seek what's known as a "blue slip," or an opinion from those senators.

But in a snub to California Democratic Sens. Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris, the White House announced Wednesday that Trump had nominated Patrick Bumatay, Daniel Collins and Kenneth Kiyul Lee (all from the Golden State, and reportedly all members of the conservative Federalist Society) to the influential circuit. The court, with a sprawling purview representing nine Western states, has long been a thorn in the side of the Trump White House, with rulings against the travel ban and limits on funding to "sanctuary cities."

GOP critics have branded the court the “Nutty 9th,” in part because many of its rulings have been overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court.

The Sacramento Bee reported that White House officials had been negotiating with Feinstein and Harris about the appointments earlier in the year, but the dialogue collapsed over the summer.

Any working relationship is likely only to have soured further after Harris and Feinstein led the charge on the Senate Judiciary Committee against the confirmation of now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. In particular, Trump and Republicans accused Feinstein of withholding information about an allegation of sexual assault against Kavanaugh until after the hearings were over. Both Feinstein and Harris voted against Kavanaugh's nomination, joined by all but one Democratic senator.

Six Ways Nancy Pelosi Aims to Take Away Firearm Freedoms

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) believes securing gun control is more important than continuing to win elections and she supports numerous controls that will she undoubtedly pursue if Democrats gain control of the House.

The Washington Times reported that Pelosi reacted to the February 14, 2018, Parkland high school shooting by stressing that securing more gun control is a “higher [priority] than winning the next election.” In other words, she expressed willingness to trade her political career for the opportunity to restrict Americans’ Second Amendment rights.

Here are six gun controls Pelosi is certain to pursue if Democrats take control of Congress:

NETWORK OF GARBAGE: CNN Attacks Kanye Using Dead Mom, Mental Health, Wife's Ex-Lover

Every day is a new low for CNN.

The far-left network has launched a smear campaign against rapper Kanye West over his support for President Donald Trump, using racial slurs to attack him and suggesting that he is mentally ill.

The attack started on Tuesday when CNN host Don Lemon led a panel that mocked West — while Lemon laughed.

"Kanye West is what happens when Negroes don’t read," CNN’s Bakari Sellers said.

CNN’s Tara Setmayer declared West to be "the token Negro of the Trump administration," adding that "no one should be taking Kanye West seriously" because "he clearly has issues, he’s already been hospitalized."

Hugin Calls Out Menendez As ‘Hypocrite’ For Believing Ford But Not His Own Underage Accusers

New Jersey Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez is being called out as a “hypocrite” in an ad released by his Republican opponent Bob Hugin for believing Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s sexual assault accuser even though Menendez faced allegations of sexual relations with minors.

The ad comes as Menendez was one of the first senators to publicly say he believedChristine Blasey Ford, the woman who accused Kavanaugh of high school-era sexual assault. After an FBI investigation could not find corroborating evidence of the claims, Menendez said “if that’s an investigation, it’s a bullsh*t investigation.”

However, years prior, a Department of Justice investigation against Menendez turned up with “corroborating evidence” that Menendez and a South Florida eye doctor, Salomon Melgen, used underage prostitutes in the Dominican Republic. An FBI investigation, however, did not find corroborating evidence on this specific claim.

In the ad released Monday, Hugin calls out Menendez for his hypocrisy in relation to the two issues, asking Menendez about the underage girls who accused him of sexual misconduct and why their voices do not deserve to be heard.

West Virginia Is In A Full Blown Constitutional Crisis

West Virginia is in the grips of a constitutional crisis, as the state’s highest court effectively ended an impeachment proceeding against one of its own members.

The West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals ruled that the state legislature exceeded its authority in impeaching its own chief justice, Margaret Workman, for violations of the state judicial conduct code. Should Workman be removed from office, she would become the fourth justice in as many months to leave the court in disgrace.

West Virginia’s Supreme Court has been in a state of disarray since the summer. A full complement of duly elected justices sat on the court in June of this year: Workman and Justices Robin Jean Davis, Menis Ketchum, Beth Walker and Allen Loughry. Since then,Loughry and Ketchum have been convicted on fraud charges in federal court, Davis retired to avoid an impeachment trial, and Workman and Walker were impeached by the state legislature.

GOP Gov. Jim Justice appointed two interim justices to the vacant Davis and Ketchum seats in August. Workman appointed a third acting justice to replace Loughry.

Cornell professor: Media headlines 'overstate' Elizabeth Warren's DNA test results

The press is making too much of the DNA test results revealed by Sen. Elizabeth Warren, thatpurport to show she likely does have a distant ancestor who was Native American, according to Cornell Law professor William Jacobson.

Jacobson writes for the conservative blog Legal Insurrection and has attempted to trace Warren's lineage for years. He argued Monday that the results, which Warren released and had published in the Boston Globe, merely show she may have one single ancestor of Native American heritage six generations or more ago but said that report is not conclusive and that it would be inaccurate to say she proved her claims of lineage.

"Despite the weakness and speculative nature of the findings, media headlines are achieving Warren’s intended purpose of acting as if this is conclusive," wrote Jacobson.

'Hyper-alarming' study shows massive insect loss

Insects around the world are in a crisis, according to a small but growing number of long-term studies showing dramatic declines in invertebrate populations. A new report suggests that the problem is more widespread than scientists realized. Huge numbers of bugs have been lost in a pristine national forest in Puerto Rico, the study found, and the forest's insect-eating animals have gone missing, too.

In 2014, an international team of biologists estimated that, in the past 35 years, the abundance of invertebrates such as beetles and bees decreased by 45 percent. In places where long-term insect data are available, mainly in Europe, insect numbers are plummeting. A study last year showed a 76 percent decrease in flying insects in the past few decades in German nature preserves.

Closing in on Clinton-Justice Dept. Russia collusion conspiracy

Congressional Republicans are collecting evidence to show an extensive, election year, anti-Trump conspiracy between Hillary Clinton operatives such as Fusion GPS and Barack Obama appointees at the Justice Department and the FBI.

The investigation took a new turn last week. Fusion co-founder Glenn Simpson decided to invoke the Fifth Amendment rather than testify under subpoena before a special House Republican task force.

The Republicans see Mr. Simpson as the key middleman between Justice and the Clinton campaign. He orchestrated the Democrat-financed dossier on which the FBI built its early investigation of candidate Donald Trump. Republicans believe the unproven dossier, with its charge of extensive Trump-Russia collusion, is a sham perpetrated by Democrats and the press.

“Glenn Simpson was an absolutely essential figure in launching the entire Russia collusion hoax,” a Republican congressional staffer told The Washington Times.

Mr. Simpson decided to invoke his Fifth Amendment rights during the same week that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein balked at testifying. Republicans want information about his May 2017 meeting with then-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe. He said in a memo that Mr. Rosenstein talked of secretly recording the president, The New York Times reported.

Hamas Turns Israeli Border Into ‘24/7’ War Zone

Hamas has intensified its violent demonstrations against Israel, turning the border between the Jewish state and the Gaza Strip into a "24/7" war zone as the terrorist group amps up its efforts to kidnap Israeli soldiers, according to Israeli security sources and regional reports.

Hamas ramped up this past week its months-long violent demonstrations along the Gaza border as part of new plans to "kidnap soldiers so that it will have a bargaining chip to use against Israel for speeding up the removal of the blockade," according to an investigation into new ways Hamas is probing Israel's defenses provided by the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, or JCPA, a security research institute.

Violence raged throughout the weekend and into late Monday, with some 20,000 Palestinians participating in the demonstration, which have grown increasingly violent as Hamas operatives begin to deploy explosive devices, grenades, incendiary balloons, and other makeshift weapons.

Hamas's goal is create as much confusion and violence on the border as possible to elicit a response from the Israeli Defense Forces that could provide the terror group with an opportunity to kidnap soldiers. The renewed border violence is part of an effort by Hamas to test Israel's will and provoke a violent response.

Sessions: MS-13 Gang, Drug Cartels Among Top Threats to US

Attorney General Jeff Sessions created a new task force aimed at zeroing in on the three of the world's most notorious drug cartels and the brutal MS-13 street gang, already considered a top priority for federal law enforcement.

Speaking to a group of federal prosecutors on Monday, Sessions designated five groups as top transnational organized crime threats and said the new task force will "develop a plan to take each of these groups off of our streets for good."

Sessions, who been on the receiving end of relentless verbal jabs from President Donald Trump and may be in the final stretches of his tenure, was speaking directly to one of the president's prime targets amid the administration's broader crackdown on immigration: MS-13.

Trump has said MS-13 gang members from the stronghold of El Salvador are coming to the U.S. both illegally and as unaccompanied minors to wreak havoc. He has held up the gang as a reason for stricter immigration policies meted out by Sessions and others.

"With more than 10,000 members in the United States, this gang is the most violent gang in America today," Sessions said.

PIERS MORGAN: Hillary Clinton's shameless defense of Bill’s abuse

Imagine if it was revealed today that Donald Trump has been having ‘sexual relations’ with a 22-year-old White House intern ever since he became President?

Then imagine if it emerged that most of those ‘sexual relations’ had taken place in the Oval Office, the most powerful and revered room in America?

And finally, imagine if luridly unedifying details of the affair began to spill out revealing how the President spoke on the phone with members of Congress while receiving oral sex from the intern and used a cigar on her as a sexual tool?

All hell would break loose, right?

I mean, there would literally be the outrage equivalent of 1000 volcanoes simultaneously erupting.

State of Maryland Sues EPA for Refusing to Control Upwind NOx Emissions

BALTIMORE, MD - Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh today announced that the State of Maryland has sought judicial review, in the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, of the Environmental Protection Agency’s decision to deny Maryland’s petition for relief under Section 126 of the Clean Air Act. The petition had asked EPA to impose additional controls on upwind emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx), which are a precursor to the ozone that plagues Maryland when the weather is warm.

“EPA’s decision to deny our petition gives a green light to out-of-state power plants to continue sending their pollution downwind to Maryland. Maryland strictly controls NOx emissions within its own boundaries, but other states need to do their part to keep ozone levels down,” said Attorney General Frosh. “Requiring power plants to implement common sense standards to reduce harmful emissions is the responsibility of EPA. Today, with the Maryland Department of the Environment, we are appealing EPA’s decision to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit to protect Marylanders from the negative health consequences of other states’ pollution.”
