According to the federal government, the top complaint about nursing homes is wrongful eviction. Advocates say nursing homes want residents who pay more but require less care.
People complain about nursing homes a lot: the food's no good or there's not enough staff, and so on. It's a long list. But the top complaint, according to the federal government, is eviction from a nursing home.
Technically, it's known as involuntary discharge, and in 2015 it brought in more than 9,000 complaints. Now, a couple of states are looking for ways to hold nursing homes accountable for unnecessary evictions.
One of those states is Maryland. Brian Frosh, the state's attorney general, says that, in Maryland, more than half of all involuntary discharges have come from just one small chain of nursing homes run by Neiswanger Management Services, or NMS Healthcare.

How Liberal Short-Term Thinking Is Destroying America
Like a crack addict who can’t seem to think about anything other than his next fix, liberals can’t seem to think about anything but spewing their emotions at the world. They may be reflexively saying something that makes them feel compassionate, outraged, sensitive or angry, but liberals usually seem to be caught in the grip of some strong emotion.
Of course, it goes without saying that emotion unmoored from logic produces a lot of warped views, but it also mires a person in short term thinking….if you could even call it that. Because when you’re emotional, most of the time you’re not thinking; you’re reacting based on your “feels.” This is where a lot of liberals live 24 x 7 and so, it’s not shocking that their behavior is so thoughtless.
Take rock star Katy Perry’s reaction to the Manchester bombing, “No barriers, no borders, we all just need to coexist.” So, what does co-existing with radical Islamic terrorists who want to kill you mean? Is Katy Perry going to invite ISIS terrorists from Syria to bomb her next concert?

First run operating below state guidelines as it has no air conditioner in front or rear! State of DE. notified and can't do anything until Monday as the "person who handles isn't in". The chief of the department who is also acting supervisor, as well as other officers are aware and have opted to continued use. To make it worse, as if an 80 day isn't bad enough on employees and patients who will be subjected this has been an on going issue for almost 30 days
Second unit has obvious mechanical issue posing safety issue is also being ignored! Safe to point I know whole heartedly it was documented. If accident happens the unit is unsafe !

A lawyer for Duarte Nursery said the case is important because it could set a precedent requiring other farmers to obtain costly, time-consuming permits just to plow their fields.
“The case is the first time that we’re aware of that says you need to get a (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers) permit to plow to grow crops,” said Anthony Francois, an attorney for the Pacific Legal Foundation.
“We’re not going to produce much food under those kinds of regulations,” he said.

It’s an urban myth (though I’m not so sure myself) but when Irish parents are getting piously judgmental letters from schools about the sugar content of their children’s packed lunches and with sugar now being routinely referred to as “the new heroin” (albeit by those whose only qualifications appear to be shiny hair and an Instagram account), this new demonisation of sugar is quickly becoming the moral panic du jour.
Any amount of borderline-intelligence “media personalities” advocating a sugar-free diet coupled with the number of “Sugar is Evil and Will Make You Fat and Horrible”-style books currently clogging up the publishing cycle not just make a mockery of the science of nutrition but, worse, are spreading panic and neurosis among those looking for sensible dietary advice in a nutrition world populated by freaks and fundamentalists.

Since the publication of John Yudkin’s groundbreaking work Pure, White and Deadly (The Problem of Sugar) in 1972 we have been all too aware of the serious medical/lifestyle problems associated with overconsumption of sugar. The key word here being “overconsumption”.
But this new puritanical proscribing of sugar as a “poison” – the complete elimination of which will lead to us all becoming shiny, happy people – crucially comes not from the scientific/medical world but from lunatic, self-appointed lifestyle gurus.

Boca Raton police in Florida have just released surveillance footage showing a local teacher embracing and kissing one of his students on the lips.
One of his fourth grade students. One of his male, ten-year-old fourth grade students. While this footage only shows one victim, current reports suggest that he abused students of both genders.

Last week, fourth grade teacher Brian Kornbluth pleaded guilty to a battery charge after being accused of kissing students in his classroom.
According to police, the boy in the video and his sister told officers they went to Kornbluth’s classroom to get gummy bears, and the teacher kissed both of them on the lips.

STATE, LOCAL & FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT SEARCHING FOR MALE SUBJECT WHO SHOT VSP SPECIAL AGENT
At 7:25 p.m. Friday (May 26), a Richmond Police Officer and the State Police Special Agent observed a car pull up to the curb and park the wrong way in the 1900 block of Redd Street. The Richmond Police Officer was in uniform and driving a marked Richmond Police SUV. The Richmond Police Officer and Special Agent walked up to the car and struck up a conversation with the driver as part of a consensual encounter. During the course of the encounter, the Special Agent was shot by the passenger in the car, who fled on foot.
The Special Agent was transported to VCU Medical Center in Richmond, and is still being treated for life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the car remained at the scene and was detained by Richmond Police.

Fake Homeless Woman Arrested After Video Reveals Her New Car
As reported by WTVR, officers responded to a “disorderly situation” at the intersection of West Broad Street and Gaskins Road, a different location than the video was recorded, on Monday afternoon.
Henrico Police Lt. Richard Crosby, speaking about the incident, said, “Upon arrival, the officers located the female complainant in the parking lot near the IHOP restaurant,” continuing, “The complainant advised officers that while standing in the median, several people began harassing her and videotaping her.”

Were MS-13 gang members intentionally released into US communities?
At least 16 self-proclaimed MS-13 gang members were transferred out of federal custody and into community placement centers across the country during the border surge in unaccompanied children from Central America in 2014, according to a new letter from the Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.
It was unclear what happened to the members of Mara Salvatrucha, one of the most brutal transnational gangs in the world, and that’s why Senator Ron Johnson, R-Wis., wrote the Office of Refugee Resettlement on Tuesday demanding answers.
Fox News has now learned that more than a dozen teenage gang members were captured during the surge. According to Johnson’s letter and documents obtained by Fox News, the gang members “freely admitted” that they were “active MS-13 gang members” and marked bathrooms inside a placement center in Nogales, Arizona with MS-13 associated graffiti.
One teenage gang member stated he “was a drug dealer” and “would continue to do the same in the United States with his family.”
“These documents appear to show that the federal government knowingly moved self-identified gang members from Nogales, Arizona to placement centers in communities across the country.." Johnson wrote in his letter to the Office of Refugee Resettlement.
