More than half of Americans—52.5 percent—say they cannot afford to spend more than $100 a month on health insurance premiums, according to a poll from HealthPocket, a technology company that compares health plans.
The group asked survey respondents at the beginning of open enrollment what was the highest monthly premium they could afford to pay for health insurance in 2017.
More than half of respondents said $100 a month or less, while 15.9 percent said they could afford to spend $200 a month.
Just over 11 percent said they could afford $300 a month, 5.5 percent said they could afford $400 a month, and 4.8 percent said they could spend $500 a month, while and 9.8 percent said they could afford $500 or more.
“Double-digit rate increases for people purchasing insurance in the Affordable Care Act market has renewed questions regarding what people can afford to pay for coverage,” the survey states.

President-Elect Donald J Trump, is such a racist and sexist that his campaign spokesperson is a black woman. He's such a sexist that he has helped women shatter the glass ceiling in construction and politics. Kellyanne Conway is the first woman to be the campaign manager of a winning presidential candidate. The lunatic left, being lied to for nearly a century by-the-way, is out of touch with reality. In fact, Trump fired MEN because they weren't getting the job done! Sexist!!!
The media has itself to blame for the violence. The made-up story of Muslims being attacked by Trump supporters is yet their newest lie. They will stop at nothing until they finish the destruction of America. These pundits are consistent in their on-going attack of Trump, his supporters and those who believe in the Constitution in general. They have 1st amendment rights but we have choice as well. Turn them off. Destroy their ratings. Boycott CNN and MSNBC in particular. Here's why. Fewer eyeballs watching their lies, fewer advertising dollars.
Your correspondent readily admits to watching more CNN than any other network. My reason is to keep an eye on their misconduct and unethical reporting. Mr. Trump isn't perfect, but when they criticize even the way he breathes, it's time to tune them out. They and the other allegedly mainstream media need to be tuned out. Let them know that the masses do not approve of their tactics. Force them to fairness by tuning them out.
I assure you that in the coming months, I will make fair commentaries. If Mr. Trump is doing something to hurt our country, I will say so. If the Democrats do something good or well, I will say so. But frankly, right now the media, the Democrats and the weak citizens in the streets who are so poorly informed, deserve to be exposed. They are entitled to protest. But they are entitled also to be judged for what they are; media and Democrat pawns exposed by their hatred of Trump supporters, Mr. Trump, and America. Shame on the media. Shame on them.

Ben Carson Says He'll Help Trump Find a Replacement to Obamacare
Ben Carson said he would help President-elect Donald Trump construct a replacement to Obamacare.
“I think the replacement must obviously come first and it must be something that is very appealing and easy to understand,” he told Politico Wednesday. “And then, only then, would you dismantle what’s in place.”
Carson declined to say whether he was being considered for a Cabinet position, but Politicoreports that his name is being floated as a possible candidate for positions such as secretary of health and human services or secretary of education.
Trump campaigned on replacing Obamacare with a simpler, cheaper alternative that has less government regulation.

Let's continue to pray that our President-elect will surround himself with wise people who love America and will help him Make America Great Again. The hard working men and women of America, many Democrats and Independents, along with Republicans are finally sick of the media elite, the Hollywood elite and the political establishment elite. As Americans, we just want our country back from a ruling class of poohbahs and potentates that crosses party lines and has gotten fat on our backs. Crony capitalism, dependency, debt, swelling bureaucracy, shrinking military, open borders, globalism, attacks on life, religious liberty, property rights, and second amendment rights were rejected. And voters chose Donald Trump who vowed to be a champion for the "forgotten Americans."
For the first time since 1928 Republicans will control the Presidency the Senate and the House. President Donald Trump will have an historic opportunity to deliver on the commitments that he made, to those who have been left behind by the progressive agenda.
Though we were celebrating the Trump victory last night, we were disappointed about our own Congressional races. Maryland (because of those who thrive from federal government salaries and contracts, and those who depend on government handouts) remains out of step with the movement that swept the nation. Despite great and credible candidates who worked tirelessly, we will still just send our one Republican, Andy Harris, to Congress. Andy, who strongly supported Trump will be an important voice for us with the new Administration.
A special thank you to Kathy Szeliga, who gave up nearly a year of her life and waged a tireless battle to capture the open Senate seat. Kathy articulated our conservative values and helped to keep the momentum that elected Larry Hogan moving forward. She will continue to be that strong voice in the Maryland House of Delegates.
It was heartening to hear Mark Plaster last night announce his determination to win his Congressional seat in 2018. I expect his next campaign will begin after a brief recharging of his batteries! All of our candidates campaigned hard for conservative values, and all Marylanders are better off with the competition of ideas they offered.
Yes, there are still tensions within the GOP. But as CNN's Jake Tapper noted last night, "We've been talking. . . about what's going to happen to the Republican Party, and the bloodletting, and the infighting, and who's going to lead the Republican Party and all that. Again, completely wrong. It's the Democratic Party that's going to have this fight." Republicans, let’s unite and enjoy the opportunity ahead!

ACLU asks Justice Dept. to accept Dylann Roof guilty plea offer
The deputy legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union is urging the Justice Department to accept the Charleston church shooter's offer to plead guilty to federal hate crimes.
The statement from the ACLU's Jeffrey Robinson on Wednesday came after the delay in Dylann Roof's trial pending his competency evaluation. The delay, Robinson says, gives the Justice Department a chance to accept Roof's offer to plea guilty.
Roof had originally offered to plead guilty in exchange for a life sentence, but federal prosecutors rejected that offer and said they would still seek the death penalty.
Roof, now 22, is the perpetrator of the June 17, 2015, shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church that left nine black parishioners dead.
