Stadium protests violate America’s last remaining safe space

People enjoy sports as a way to forget their problems,
not to be reminded of them

This election season has lasted far longer than any I can remember. Even for professional politicians, the constant emotional theater of controversy, fear and anger during the election has grown quite wearying. Undoubtedly many Americans feel the same way – weary of the constant fighting and media natter, and yearning for a neutral ground where we can forget about our troubles for a while and enjoy the passionate distraction.

Many people find a brief respite in their favorite sports contests, an arena that is supposedly America’s ultimate safe space.

That is, it was considered so until recently. The controversy surrounding San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who has decided to kneel instead of stand during the singing of the national anthem before games, represents for some a gross violation of that sacred place. In many ways, sports stars and entertainers transcend America’s social dynamics. Basketball great Michael Jordan is considered a god among many, his racial identity all but forgotten amidst his towering legend. Golf phenom Tiger Woods – at least before his fall from grace – was viewed in the same light by many. Sports stars enjoy the lofty, if somewhat precarious esteem of being those in whom we invest our collective fantasies about our most powerful achievements.

Exclusive: Hillary Killed Libya Peace Deal Over Personal Vendetta, Claims Whistleblower

Gaddafi agreed to hold free elections, but Clinton's refusal led to ISIS takeover, thousands of deaths, international migrant crisis

Hillary Clinton personally nixed a peace deal in Libya that would have led to free elections and prevented the country being seized by ISIS, all because of a personal vendetta she had with Muammar Gaddafi, according to explosive new claims made by a whistleblower who personally oversaw the negotiations.

Christian preacher Dr. Kilari Anand Paul is a global peace ambassador originally from India who is now a naturalized U.S. citizen.

Colonel Gaddafi personally invited Dr. Paul to Tripoli, Libya for peace talks having looked up to Paul as a spiritual leader since 1992 and having been impressed with the evangelist’s counseling work with King Hussein of Jordan and Yasser Arafat.

Dr. Paul arrived in Libya on August 5, 2011 with a contingent of Indian Members of Parliament and others on his peacekeeping team. Upon hearing of their arrival via press reports, General Wesley Clark encouraged Dr. Paul to try to negotiate a settlement between the U.S. State Department and Gaddafi in order to put a halt to the brutal conflict.

FBI Allowed 2 Hillary Aides To "Destroy" Their Laptops In Newly Exposed "Side Agreements"

Just when you think the Hillary email scandal can't get any more bizarre and corrupt, it does. According to a just releasedletter from the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Bob Goodlatte (R - Virginia), to Attorney General Lynch, the FBI apparently struck "side agreements" with both Cheryl Mills an Heather Samuelson to "destroy" their "laptops after concluding its search."

In the attached, Goodlatte questioned why the destruction of the laptops used to sort Clinton's emails was included in immunity deals that already protected Mills and Samuelson from prosecution based on the records recovered from their computers. Furthermore, we learn that according to the immunity agreements, FBI agents limited their search to documents authored before Jan. 2015. The Republican argued such parameters prevented investigators from examining potential proof of the destruction of evidence that may have occurred after that date, and that the deals offered to Mills and Samuelson already protected the aides from prosecution related to their alleged roles in the deletion of federal records.

"Like many things about this case, these new materials raise more questions than answers," Goodlatte wrote of the "side agreements," which lawmakers were allowed to read even though they have not yet been released in full to members of Congress.

The immunity deals for Mills and Samuelson were negotiated before they agreed to hand over their laptops which we now learn were subsequently destroyed.

While we parse the letter to understand what basis for action the FBI may have had when pursuing such a course of action, we can't help but note that the FBI appears to have acted as a co-conspirator in what appears to be an unprecedented case of destruction of key evidence.

Below are some of the key excerpts from the letter (full document attached at the end of this post):

Election Results: Town of Berlin

Berlin Mayor, Council Election Results

Charlene Sharpe
Staff Writer
BERLIN -- Voters re-elected Mayor Gee Williams in today's Berlin election.

Williams received 588 votes Tuesday, far ahead of challenger Lisa Hall, who received 137 votes.

In the District 2 race, Zackery Tyndall received 185 votes, coming out ahead of Jack Orris, who collected 116 votes.

Williams has been a familiar face in Berlin politics since 2003 when he joined the town council. When then-Mayor Tom Cardinale died suddenly in the spring of 2008, Williams, as council vice president, was charged with completing his term. He filed for election again that fall, defeating challenger Rex Hailey, and ran unopposed in 2012.

Hall, who was elected to her second council term in 2012, made it known early on that she intended to run for mayor in 2016. Williams, however, wasn’t ready to give up the seat.

Report: Ineligible Aliens Voted in Philadelphia in Recent Years

Dozens of ineligible aliens who have been removed from the voter rolls in the city of Philadelphia, Pa., have cast ballots in recent elections, according to a new report from an election watchdog group.

The Public Interest Legal Foundation, an Indiana-based nonprofit that litigates to protect election integrity, released a reporton Tuesday detailing voter rolls in Philadelphia. The information was collected from public records requests made through the National Voter Registration Act.

The group found that from 2013 to 2015, 86 registrations were cancelled in Philadelphia because the registrant was not a United States citizen. Of the cancelled registrants, 40 aliens from the city have voted in at least one election, the report stated.

Bill Clinton Smears Trump Supporters in Michigan: 'Mad About Immigration...Mad About Trade'

Former president Bill Clinton disparaged Donald Trump supporters at a rally Monday in Saginaw, Michigan, painting them as people blinded by “resentment” and “fear.”

Clinton arrived on stage at 1:44 PM Eastern for a rally that was supposed to begin at noon Eastern, an hour and forty-four minutes earlier.

“When I saw Hillary in that debate…every American who watched it, unless they were just so knotted up with anger and resentment” saw a clear contrast in the candidates’ experience, Clinton said.

“If you’re mad then it doesn’t matter,” Clinton said.

Clinton then mockingly assumed the voice of angry Americans.

“I’m mad about immigration, I’m mad about trade, I’m mad because my wages aren’t going up,” Clinton said, painting the divide in the country as a battle between “the voters of Hope vs. the voters of fear.”

“Most of the anti-immigration feeling in America is in places that don’t have a lot of immigrants. We’ve got to stop fighting over this,” Clinton said.

After marching band members take knee during national anthem, college issues declaration

After members of a college band knelt or simply didn’t play their instruments during the national anthem on Saturday, the university is now assuring donors, parents and students that it won’t happen again.

Members of the East Carolina University Marching Pirates were seen kneeling as they played the “Star-Spangled Banner” before the weekend matchup against the University of Central Florida. Meanwhile, other members of the band just didn’t play at all, WTVD-TV reported.

However, the band was met with loud boos from the crowd once it was finished playing and when it came back out on the field during halftime.

Linda Tripp: Hillary Threw Hard Objects at Bill Clinton

NEW YORK — In an exclusive interview, Linda Tripp, a former White House staffer whose workspace was located directly adjacent to Hillary Clinton’s second floor West Wing office, confirmed long-reported accounts of the former First Lady throwing hard objects at Bill Clinton.

Tripp further described what she characterized as Hillary Clinton’s significant temperament issues, including “endless screaming” and the constant use of profanity, as well as a general disdain for the U.S. electorate, the Armed Services and the honor and dignity of the institution of the American presidency, calling her public persona a “smoke and mirrors act.”

Tripp further stated that as early as the first days of the Bill Clinton administration there was already talk amongst senior staff about a future Hillary Clinton presidency, a position to which Hillary Clinton believed herself entitled.

Illegal Foreign Voting in Virginia Covered Up by Soros-Backed Democratic Officials, Says Report

Virginia’s election officials are enabling illegal registration and voting by foreign citizens, according to an extensive new study, titled “Alien Invasion in Virginia,” by a former Department of Justice civil rights lawyer.

“Virginia election officials don’t seem to care that thousands of [foreign] aliens have corrupted their voter rolls,” by illegally registering to vote, said J. Christian Adams, the former Department of Justice lawyer, and now the president of the Public Interest Legal Foundation. “Even worse than doing nothing about it, they are trying to cover it up,” he toldBreitbart News.

Even small amounts of illegal voting can make a decisive difference — Democratic Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring defeated Republican Mark Obenshain in 2013 by a mere 165 votes out of 2.2 million votes cast.

But “in the eight [out of 130-plus] jurisdictions that provided us with lists of aliens recently removed from their voter rolls, we discovered that 31 non-citizens had cast a total of 186 votes between 2005 and 2015,” said the report, given first to Breitbart News.

Annapolis homicide rates soar

ANNPOLIS, Md. —Annapolis is now grappling with a dubious distinction: 2016 has marked the most homicides in the city's history.

There have been nine homicides in one year. It's the most homicides recorded in Annapolis since the city started keeping records.

The soaring murder stats have some residents calling for action, and that includes Annapolis Mayor Mike Pantelides.

"I'm pissed off about this. I'm upset that murders are up, even though crime is down overall. We have to do a better job going forward," Pantelides said.

According to police Chief Michael Pristoop, the homicide spike is being driven by a complicated combination of factors, including heroin.

Annapolis has seen eight fatal overdoses so far this year compared to none the year before. There were also 45 nonfatal overdoses -- a 250 percent jump year-to-year.

In an open letter on Facebook, Pristoop also blamed the Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis.

"Unfortunately, much of our violent crime is centered in and around HACA properties. (They've) become offender magnets due to HACA's refusal to enforce banning and other internal rules that affect security. (The) banning policy is not only unenforced, it is feckless."

Clinton Campaign Panics Over Lack of Volunteers

Young voters abandoning Hillary!

Two campaign events in Akron, Ohio, were cancelled last minute due to lack of volunteers:

‘We have your daughter’: A virtual kidnapping and a mother’s five hours of hell

Wendy Mueller was standing at the copper sink in her gorgeous, historic Leesburg, Va., home last Wednesday afternoon when the knife she was holding slipped and cut her thumb.

Then the phone rang.

It wasn’t a number she recognized, but distracted by the bleeding thumb, she answered it. Mom always answers the phone.

She heard screaming. It sounded exactly like her 23-year-old daughter’s voice, begging for help.

Then an unfamiliar voice announced, “We have your daughter.”

FBI agreed to destroy laptops of Clinton aides with immunity deal, sources say

Immunity deals for two top Hillary Clinton aides included a side arrangement obliging the FBI to destroy their laptops after reviewing the devices, House Judiciary Committee sources told Fox News on Monday.

Sources said the arrangement with former Clinton chief of staff Cheryl Mills and ex-campaign staffer Heather Samuelson also limited the search to no later than Jan. 31, 2015. This meant investigators could not review documents for the period after the email server became public -- in turn preventing the bureau from discovering if there was any evidence of obstruction of justice, sources said.

The Republican chairman of the House Judiciary Committee fired off a letterMonday to Attorney General Loretta Lynch asking why the DOJ and FBI agreed to the restrictive terms, including that the FBI would destroy the laptops after finishing the search.

“Like many things about this case, these new materials raise more questions than answers,” Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., wrote in the letter obtained by Fox News.

“Doesn’t the willingness of Ms. Mills and Ms. Samuelson to have their laptops destroyed by the FBI contradict their claim that the laptops could have been withheld because they contained non-relevant, privileged information? If so, doesn’t that undermine the claim that the side agreements were necessary?” Goodlatte asks.

The Corrupt Clinton Foundation You've Never Heard Of

Three months after leaving the White House in 2001, former President Bill Clinton arrived in India to cheering throngs to help those who had just lost a million homes in the aftermath of a massive earthquake that killed 20,000 and injured 166,000.

In classic Clinton style, he solemnly promised that his new nonprofit — called the American India Foundation (AIF) — would rebuild 100 villages. Rajat Gupta, his millionaire co-chairman, pledged $1 billion for the victims.

It never happened. Years later, AIF’s annual reports were reviewed by the Daily Caller News Foundation and show only seven villages were partially rebuilt by Clinton’s group, and a mere $2.7 million of $53 million raised over a decade went to the earthquake victims.

The rest went for completely unrelated projects, including “accelerating social change,” fighting AIDS, “sustainable development,” and working for “digital equalizers.”

Supreme Court rejects 1 Redskins appeal; other case pending

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court on Monday rejected a long-shot appeal from the Washington Redskins challenging a law that bars offensive trademarks, although the justices could still resolve the same issue in another pending case.

The court turned away the team’s unusual request to have its case heard before a federal appeals court in Richmond, Virginia, weighs in. The Redskins are appealing the government’s decision to cancel its trademarks over concerns the nickname disparages Native Americans.

Redskins spokesman Tony Wyllie said the team would not comment.

In a separate case, the justices will decide whether the trademark law violates the First Amendment. That case involves The Slants, an Asian-American rock band that was denied a trademark on the ground that its name disparages Asians.

Cracks Emerge: Hillary Cancels Joint Campaign Events With Bernie After Leaked Recording

After Friday's latest leak, in which a recording of Hillary Clinton during a February fundraiser revealed disparaging commentary aimed at Millennials in general and Bernie Sanders supporters in particular in which Hillary said that Sanders supporters are harboring "false promises" and "are living in their parents’ basement" because "they don’t see much of a future" (supposedly after eight years under the Obama administration), Hillary tried to patch up the PR snafu, aware that she urgently needs the youth vote on her side.

A statement by her campaign said that, "as Hillary Clinton said in those remarks, she wants young people to be idealistic and set big goals. She is fighting for exactly what millennial generation cares most about — a fairer more equal, just world. She's working to create new pathways to jobs and career opportunities, to build more inclusivity and community, and to ensure everyone gets a fair shot," the statement read adding that "She's inspired by the optimism and the drive of this generation and Sanders supporters across the country — and they've helped her craft and promote the most progressive platform in Democratic party history."

Sanders, who ran for president as a member of the Democratic Party, responded that while it "of course" bothered him that Clinton said he sold a "false promise" to his supporters, he did not appear to be greatly bothered by Hillary's classification of his voters: “Well, I agree with her, what she is saying,” he said on CNN's State of the Union. “There are young people who went deeply into debt, worked very hard to get a good education, and yet get out of school and can’t get decent jobs … and are living in their parents’ basements. There is a point there.”

Obama's fault? In any case, cracks appeared below the surface after it emerged that Clinton and Sanders are taking a break from joint events and are having a campaign-trail split after the leaked recording, which appears to have done more damage than let on.
