Why This Grandpa Carries A Gun

My old Grandpa said to me, "Son, there comes a time in   every man's life when he stops bustin' knuckles and starts   bustin' caps and usually it's when he becomes too old to   take a whoopin'."

I don't carry a gun to kill people; I carry a gun to keep   from being killed.

I don't carry a gun because I'm evil; I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see the evil in the World.

I don't carry a gun because I hate the government; I carry a gun because I understand the limitations of government.

I don't carry a gun because I'm angry; I carry a gun so that I don't have to spend the rest of my life hating myself for failing to be prepared.

I don't carry a gun because I want to shoot someone; I   carry a gun because I want to die at a ripe old age in my bed and not on a sidewalk somewhere tomorrow afternoon.          I don't carry a gun to make me feel like a man; I carry a gun because men know how to take care of themselves   and the ones they love.

I don't carry a gun because I feel inadequate; I carry a gun because unarmed and facing three armed thugs, I am inadequate.

I don't carry a gun because I love it; I carry a gun because I love life and the people who make it meaningful to me.

Police protection is an oxymoron: Free citizens must   protect themselves because police do not protect you   from crime; they just investigate the crime after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess.

Personally, I carry a gun because I'm too young to die and too old to take a whoopin'!

You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.

With guns, we are 'citizens'; without them, we are 'subjects'.

During WW II, the Japanese decided not to invade    America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!      ·         Gun owners in the USA are the largest armed forces in   the World!

·          If you value your freedom, please spread this anti-gun   control message to all of your friends.

·          The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible   victory in defense.

·          The sword is more important than the shield and skill is more important than either.

IT'S A NO BRAINER!  DON'T LET OUR GOVERNMENT   WASTE MILLIONS OF OUR TAX DOLLARS IN AN  EFFORT TO MAKE ALL LAW-ABIDING CITIZENS  AN EASY TARGET.

I'm a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment!  If you are too, please forward this.   If you're not a believer, please reconsider the true facts.  This is history; not what's being shown on TV, sanctioned by our illustrious delusional leaders in Washington.

GAO Report: ATF Is Stockpiling Personal Gun Data

A government report discovered the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) illegally stockpiles gun owners’ personal information.

The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), the go-to federal oversight agency, conducted an audit of ATF and found it does not remove certain identifiable information, despite the law explicitly mandating it do so. GAO conducted reviews for four data systems, and concluded at least two of ATF’s systems violated official protocols.

One of the data-collecting systems called Multiple Sales (MS) requires that multiple firearms purchased at once must be reported to ATF by the federal firearms licensee (FFL). ATF policy requires that the bureau internally removes particular data from multiple gun sales reports after two years if the firearm has not been traced to criminal activity. GAO found that ATF does not adhere to its own policy. In fact, “until May 2016, MS contained over 10,000 names that were not consistently deleted within the required 2 years.”

The Laughter Of Children Will Make You Happy

House Republican threatens VA subpoena over artwork purchases

Rep. Jeff Miller, chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, threatened to subpoena the Department of Veterans Affairs if it did not provide accurate figures of the taxpayer money spent on artwork.

Miller pointed to the $20 million VA officials have used to purchase paintings, sculptures and "ornamental furnishings" over the past decade in a letter to VA Secretary Robert McDonald on Friday, in which he demanded a full accounting of the funds diverted to agency art.

The Florida Republican noted his own committee had uncovered $6.5 million in expenses related to decorating rooms at a single VA facility in Palo Alto, Calif.

"Either the reported $20 million, 10-year total is incomplete, or the Palo Alto Healthcare System expenditures represent an extraordinarily large portion of VA's nationwide spending," Miller wrote.

There Has Not Been a Non-Lawyer on a Democratic Presidential Ticket in Three Decades

Dems nominate two candidates from America's least favorite profession for ninth straight election

Democrats nominated two lawyers for the ninth consecutive presidential election at last week’s convention in Philadelphia, something Republicans have not done since 1972.

Both Hillary Clinton, who went to Yale Law School, and running mate Tim Kaine, who went to Harvard Law School, worked in private law practices before entering the political realm.

It has become a given for Democrats to nominate lawyers in recent decades. All of the party’s candidates going back to 1984—Barack Obama, Joe Biden, John Kerry, John Edwards, Al Gore, Joe Lieberman, Bill Clinton, Michael Dukakis, Walter Mondale, and Geraldine Ferraro—went to law school.

Many of them attended the same law school. Lieberman went to Yale along with both Clintons, while Kaine, Obama, and Dukakis went to Harvard.

The last time the Democrats put a non-lawyer on its presidential ticket was in 1980 when Jimmy Carter ran for re-election. Carter worked on his family’s peanut farm after serving in the U.S. Navy. Vice President Mondale is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School and worked in private practice before and after his political career.

Chairman Royce on Reports That Obama Secretly Sent $400M to Iran: ‘It Keeps Getting Worse’

Republicans lashed out Tuesday at the Obama administration over a news report claiming it airlifted $400 million in foreign currency to Tehran on the same day the regime released five imprisoned Americans.

On that day in January, the U.S. agreed to settle a 37-year-old Iranian legal claim worth $400 million, plus an additional $1.3 billion in interest. The two developments also coincided with the “implementation day” for the nuclear deal struck between Tehran, the U.S. and five other nations.

The administration has long denied that the $1.7 billion settlement was related to the prisoner releases, or that it amounted to a “ransom.”

The Wall Street Journal reported that the cash, in European and other currencies, was secretly flown to Iran on wooden pallets in an unmarked cargo plane, and that it was a first instalment of the agreed-upon $1.7 billion payout.

Citing U.S. and European officials and congressional staffers who had been briefed later, it said the U.S. had sent the equivalent of $400 million to the Dutch and Swiss central banks, where it was converted and provided in foreign currency, then flown to Iran.

The report quoted State Department spokesman John Kirby as reiterating the administration’s denial of any link between the payment and release of the imprisoned Americans.

The two negotiations, he said, “were completely separate” and were also handled by different teams

State Police Investigating Crash North of Georgetown

Georgetown– The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a motor vehicle crash that occurred north of Georgetown at Donovans Salvage parking lot.

Preliminary investigation reveals the incident occurred around 2:47 p.m. today, Thursday August 4, 2016, as a 35-year-old male was operating a 2001 Dodge Durango southbound on Donovans Road and failed to negotiate a sharp left curve. The Durango struck a parked car in the parking lot of Donovans Salvage, located at 20262 Donovans Road, which in turn struck a male pedestrian. The parked vehicle was also pushed into a food truck parked in the parking lot injuring a female employee working inside the food truck. The 35-year-old operator then fled from the vehicle down some nearby railroad track to a residence in Georgetown where he was taken into custody approximately 25 minutes later.

The adult male pedestrian was flown to Christiana Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition with undetermined injuries.

The adult female employee in the parked food truck was airlifted to Crozer-Chester Medical Center where she was admitted in stable condition.

A more detailed release regarding the victim’s ages and hometowns will be released upon the completion of the investigation. Alcohol is suspected as a contributing cause of this crash and charges are forthcoming.

County, State Agree To Sewer Overflow Settlement

SNOW HILL – In an effort to avoid hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines, county officials have agreed to pay the state a one-time fee for sewer overflows that occurred in 2014 and 2015.

The Worcester County Commissioners on Tuesday agreed to settle with the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) for a payment of $3,100. The eight sanitary sewer overflows that occurred between July 2014 and June 2015 could have been subject to penalties of $100,000 each.

“We, of course, recommend settlement, but I still believe this tends to be a money grab by the Maryland Department of the Environment,” said John Tustin, the county’s director of public works.

According to Tustin, the first overflow was the result of a complete electrical failure in one of the Mystic Harbour pump stations that caused a grease trap to overflow near Sunset Grill. Three of the other overflows were related to the ongoing upgrades in the Ocean Pines wastewater collection system. Another came after a mechanical failure at a pump station. The remaining overflows were the result of small leaks identified by staff throughout the year.

With Trans Movement, Say Goodbye to Women’s Sports

How far does the NBA want transgender “rights” to go?

The NBA stepped into the culture war with its recent decision to move the 2017 All-Star Game out of Charlotte, North Carolina, citing “the climate created by HB2,” the bill that requires government single-sex bathrooms be available only to people on basis of the sex on their birth certificate.

When it decided to move the game out of Charlotte, the NBA released a statement:

“Our week-long schedule of All-Star events and activities is intended to be a global celebration of basketball, our league, and the values for which we stand, and to bring together all members of the NBA community—current and former players, league and team officials, business partners, and fans. While we recognize that the NBA cannot choose the law in every city, state, and country in which we do business, we do not believe we can successfully host our All-Star festivities in Charlotte in the climate created by HB2.”

As a woman, I appreciate a different kind of “climate”—one where I can feel safe going to intimate facilities full of strangers. I think that the basis for who gets to use these facilities should be one’s biological sex. The NBA seems to disagree with this commonsense notion, instead believing that bathroom, shower, and locker access should be determined on the basis of subjective gender identity.

But bathrooms and locker rooms aren’t the only area where transgender activists could demand changes.

In fact, sports itself—not just the bathrooms used by its fans—could be affected.

Donald Trump: No Obama, Hillary Clinton Is Unfit for Office

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump responded to President Barack Obama’s assertion that he was “unfit” to hold the office of the presidency, pointing out Hillary Clinton’s failures.

“They have betrayed our security and our workers, and Hillary Clinton has proven herself unfit to serve in any government office,” Trump said referring to the Obama presidency.

Trump cited the Obama/Clinton foreign policy failures — including losing Iraq, Libya, and Syria to Islamic state terrorists. He also cited Clinton’s failure to protect Americans in Benghazi while Obama put Iran on a path to nuclear weapons.
