Ronald Anderson was charged in a criminal complaint on Friday in the April 9 abduction, chase and gunfire that killed Lawrence Buckner.
The charges include kidnapping, murder, using and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence, and causing death by use of a firearm during a crime of violence.
The U.S. attorney's office said Anderson, 48, could face the death penalty if convicted.

Martin O'Malley, presidential candidate to the stars?
The former Maryland governor has been toying with the idea of running for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination — and will turn his efforts to the City of Angels next week.
O'Malley will be the guest of honor at a reception in Los Angeles April 23, at a pricey French restaurant just south of Hollywood, according to an invitation obtained by the Washington Examiner.
The invite-only reception is sponsored by his political action committee, O' Say Can You See PAC. His PAC did not reveal any fundraising numbers Tuesday, but rather indicated it will wait until the next Federal Elections Commission filing deadline in July.
And it may have a lot of money to show by the time July arrives.

Last year California passed a law that defined nearly all sex on college campuses as rape unless proven otherwise. Now, in addition to making it easier to label someone a rapist for just about every sexual encounter, state legislators want to go further to ensure that accused students' lives are severely disrupted — if not ruined — by introducing mandatory minimums for their punishment.
The mandatory minimum would be a suspension of two years for students found responsible for sexual assault. But bear in mind that the burden of proof already lies with the accused, thanks to California's "yes means yes" law. Accusers do not have to provide any proof that that they failed to give consent or were unable to consent due to incapacitation, and now a guilty finding would carry a minimum punishment under this new proposal.

Bill aims to end predatory towing in Montgomery County
“These companies employ spotters to keep an eye on you and where you go. The spotter calls the towing company and tells them, ‘Get ‘em,’ and it happens in two or three minutes after you park your car,” says Berliner. “ It drives people crazy – people in downcounty, upcounty, midcounty and east county.”
The bill would outlaw these spotters, which Berliner calls an “unscrupulous business practice.” His bill also would require photographic evidence of a violation that necessitated the tow.

In June of last year, the Obama Administration's EPA launched an aggressive assault against states' rightful powers by proposing federal carbon regulations that require states to reduce carbon dioxide emission by a staggering 30 percent in just 15 years. Since announcing the proposed regulation, the Administration's EPA has employed unprecedented, threatening tactics designed to bully states into compliance, irrespective of the feasibility or legality of its proposal. States that don't comply face the potential of losing regulatory control on energy matters to the federal government.
On April 16, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit will hear arguments on two separate but related lawsuits filed by numerous states and energy companies in the wake of last June's proposed rule. The lawsuits contend that the rule and EPA's compliance threats are illegal.

One is a grandmother beloved by members of her party in an almost worshipful way, who charges six figures for speeches and has the media drooling to report everything she says.
The other is Sarah Palin.
Whenever a conservative woman enters politics and gains any kind of traction, the liberal media inevitably calls her "The Sarah Palin of ____." They did it to Kelly Ayotte in New Hampshire, they did it to Joni Ernst in Iowa and just last week they did it to potential presidential candidate Carly Fiorina. The underlying premise of the articles is always that these women are as stupid as the Left's caricature of Palin.
Outwardly the claims are about Republican women who seemingly come out of nowhere and have the potential to become party rock stars. It's the rock star part that applies to Hillary Clinton. (Obviously she didn't come out of nowhere, she rode there on her husband's coattails.)

The number of Americans seeking unemployment aid rose for the second straight week yet remained at a low level that is consistent with more hiring.
Applications increased 12,000 last week to a seasonally adjusted 294,000, the Labor Department said Thursday. Despite the increase, other data suggests that the number of laid-off workers applying for benefits is still quite low.
The four-week average, a less volatile measure, ticked up 250 to 282,750, just barely above the previous week's level, which was the lowest in nearly 15 years.
With fewer Americans seeking aid, the number of people collecting benefits fell to 2.27 million, the lowest in more than 14 years. The benefit rolls have dropped because some unemployed have found jobs, while many others have used up all the benefits available.
The data provided some hope to economists that last month's sluggish hiring was a temporary slip.
"The trend...continues to impress and runs counter to the disappointment we saw in the March payrolls report," Derek Lindsey, an analyst at BNP Paribas, said in a note to clients.
Weekly applications are a proxy for layoffs. The average has fallen 11 percent in the past year, evidence that companies are cutting fewer workers and may hire more staff.

Use of former Bradley residence uncertain
One of the remaining reminders of Bradley is his former residence at 344 Savannah Road. Bethel United Methodist Church, which was given the property, wanted to turn the home into Hope House, changing a painful reminder of Bradley’s crimes into something that could provide hope for the future.
But Bradley’s presence still lingers, and church officials are left wondering what to do with the property.
When the house was donated in Feburary 2014, the church was undertaking a $2 million renovation of its existing facilities, The Rev. Earle Baker said, the first major changes to the church in 50 years. Wells Fargo bank asked the church to take the house after plans to demolish the structure and convert it to park space fell through.
“We weren’t expecting a house to be given to us,” Baker said.

AshleyMadison.com, a dating website for cheating spouses, wants to hook up with investors by pursuing an initial public offering in London this year.
The site’s parent company, which failed with a previous IPO attempt in Canada, said on Wednesday it is looking to raise as much as $200 million to exploit booming demand for its services.
AshleyMadison had sales of $115 million last year, an almost fourfold increase on 2009, Christoph Kraemer, its head of international relations said in an interview. It makes money by charging men for credits, which they then use for introductions to women.
Avid Life Media Inc., the Toronto-based holding company that runs AshleyMadison.com along with peers Cougarlife.com and EstablishedMen.com, wants the new funds for marketing and international expansion.
AshleyMadison has 36 million members in 46 countries, Kraemer said, and claims to be the world’s second-largest paid- for Internet dating website behind Match.com.
While the U.S. accounts for about 50 percent of its business, Kraemer said “Europe is the only region where we have a real chance of doing an IPO” because of its more liberal attitude towards adultery.
“We’re no longer a niche, but it’s been difficult in North America to find the support to go public,” he added.
