Personal FBI Flights For Holder And Other Justice Officials Went Unreported

The agency that tracks federal travel did not report hundreds of expensive personal trips aboard government planes for senior Justice Department officials including Attorney General Eric Holder and former FBI Director Robert Mueller, according to a watchdog report.

Congress’s nonpartisan Government Accountability Office determined that the 395 flights cost taxpayers $7.8 million. But the General Services Administration, which oversees such trips, did not require documentation because of a GSA reporting exemption that covers intelligence agencies, even in cases of unclassified personal travel.

The GSA exemption contradicts decades-old executive-branch requirements, specifically guidelines established by President Bill Clinton and the Office of Management and Budget, according to the report. The report said GSA “has not provided a basis for deviating from executive branch requirements.”

Obama: Democrats Get ‘Clobbered’ In Midterms

President Obama expressed concern Thursday about his party’s prospects in midterm elections, when traditionally Democratic voting blocs are less likely to head to the polls than during presidential contests.

“In midterms we get clobbered – either because we don’t think it’s important or we’ve become so discouraged about what’s happening in Washington that we think it’s not worth our while,” Obama said at a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee fundraising dinner in Miami, according to a White House transcript of his remarks.

“The challenge is that our politics in Washington have become so toxic that people just lose faith and finally they just say: ‘You know what? I’m not interested, I’m not going to bother, I’m not going to vote,’” Obama added.

Rand Paul Addresses Packed House at Berkeley

BERKELEY, CA -- Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) received a warm welcome from a packed audience at the University of California-Berkeley on Wednesday afternoon, as he addressed the Berkeley Forum at International House.

Paul's message of investigating and restraining the Central Intelligence Agency and other security arms of the federal government went down well on a campus that was the core of the anti-war movement in the Vietnam era. Yet there were quite a few conservative Republicans in the audience as well, on hand to hear one of their party's new leaders--and, many expect, a likely contender for the presidential nomination in 2016.

"Maybe," Paul said, when asked by the moderator whether he would run for president.

Doctors Work to Diagnose Measles Outbreaks

Measles, a highly contagious and dangerous virus, was thought to have been eradicated from the U.S. with vaccines -- but in recent years outbreaks have been occurring at an alarming rate.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control reports there was an average of 83 measles cases annually from 2001 to 2011, however for 2014 there have already been 79 cases reported. This is the second year in a row with an increased number of measles cases, in 2013 there were 189 cases of measles reported.

The increase has left health officials and health care centers working to keep infected patients contained and separate from vulnerable populations as they seek treatment.

Beijing Hotel Staff Already Reportedly ‘Fed Up’ With Michelle Obama’s Entourage: ‘We Can’t Wait for This to Be Over’

First Lady Michelle Obama, her mother and two daughters have reportedly already outstayed their welcome with some of the staff at a $8,350-per-night presidential suite in Beijing. They arrived on Thursday.

A “well-placed” staffer at the Westin Beijing Chaoyang hotel told the Daily Mail that the Obama women have inconvenienced “pretty much everyone” while the first lady’s mother, Marian Robinson, has been “barking at the staff” since she arrived.

“We can’t wait for this to be over, to tell you the truth,” the staffer said. “We entertain many important people here, but this has been, I think, very different.”

Now the hotel workers are about “fed up.”

A Letter To The Editor: Our Hospitals---Are you Admitted or Under Observation???

Should you be taken to the hospital & told you have to stay over night----before you sign in Know the difference between the wording of "Admitted" vs "Under Observation" before signing anything.

I had received a mail pertaining to this about a week ago stating Insurance Company would not be covering expenses IF Hospital papers state---- "Under Observation. "

Now this has happened to someone I know locally. This person was taken to the hospital ER for seizures. They stayed there for 3 days having various test done. They have ample Health Ins. plus Medicare.

Now the family finds ---she wasn't ADMITTED , although staying there 3 days, but rather------" UNDER OBSERVATION. It's their
understanding they will now have to pay for those 3 days in the hospital !!

Wondering if this has happened to anyone else ?

Is Homework Making Your Child Sick?

New research shows that some students are doing more than three hours of homework a night -- and that all that school work may be literally making them sick.

It may be tempting to dismiss this latest research, conducted in upper-middle-class areas, as yet another manifestation of the eccentricities of the affluent. This is, after all, the same demographic that recently brought us eye-roll-inducing news stories about $250-an-hour tutors who drill preschoolers on their ABCs and 1-2-3s.

Could it be that a few short years later those same tots have graduated to marathon homework sessions?

The New York Times reports that between January and March of this year, the Obama Administration is and will spend $17 million a month advertising for ObamaCare.

From January until the end of March, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which runs the HealthCare.gov site and administers the Affordable Care Act, will have spent $52 million on paid media, officials said. Conservative opponents of the law have concentrated their spending on ads focusing on Democratic candidates and sowing doubts about the viability of the law.

Brazilian inventors bring free energy device to market

Two Brazilian inventors, Nilson Barbosa and Cleriston Leal, claim to have invented a free energy device and are now selling this device to the public in the Brazilian city of Imperatriz, Maranhão. The device is called the Earth Electron Captor Generator, or “GERADOR CAPTOR DE ELÉTRONS DA TERRA” in Portuguese.

They are presently only offering the device to people who live in the city of Imperatriz. However, they are working to license production with several manufacturing firms that will allow for online sales. Their website says they will update their page with distributor information when it becomes available.

The device requires a small amount of initial input power to initiate the movement of a sensor, which then produces over-unity power. The device is small, which means it can be used to power vehicles, homes, and businesses. The site claims the input power needed to run it is around 2% of its output power.

They have several sizes of the generator. The smallest prototype they built is capable of generating 12.1 kw of power, with a load of 6000 watts, using only 21 watts input energy. The prototype unit weighs 1.5 kg measuring 20x30x15 cm. The average home needs around 15 kw of power.
