FAIL FAIL FAIL

The unleashing of QE3–unlimited money-printing in support of the financial Status Quo– is proof the Fed has failed, failed, failed. If anything the Fed has done in the past four years had actually had a positive consequence in the real economy, Bernanke would have identifed that policy and expanded it in a measured response.

Instead he went all-in, emptying the Fed’s toolbox in one big dump: unlimited money-printing, unlimited propping of the mortgage market, unlimited support of low Treasury rates and three more years of zero-interest rate policy (ZIRP). Here is the translation of the Fed Chairman’s public comments: whatever. Did you see any of his testimony? It was painfully obvious that either 1) he was sky-high on Ibogaine or 2) he was just going through the motions, duly enunciating PR “cover” that he finds tiresome to repeat and impossible to say with any sincerity or conviction.

His body language and delivery said: “You think I believe this canned shuck and jive? Get real, chumps.”

The Obama administration had some harsh words Friday after a federal judge appointed by Obama said the government doesn't have a right to indefinitely detain anyone even remotely associated with terrorist groups.

Judge Katherine B. Forrest permanently blocked the government from enforcing the National Defense Authorization Act, claiming it was too vague and would have a "chilling effect" on free speech.

And now the Department of Justice is calling Forrest's ruling "unprecedented," arguing that the government has long had the authority to detain anyone it deems a threat to the county, The Wall Street Journal's Law Blog reported Friday.

Should Anti-Islam Filmmakers Be Thrown in Jail?

PARASITIC FINANCIAL SYSTEM

In the word-cloud of current events, the phrase “parasitic financial system” billows up to a degree that suggests even so-called thinking persons begin to understand what’s happening: that banking shenanigans are sucking the life out of advanced societies. That’s why Matt Taibbi’s metaphor of Goldman Sachs as “a Vampire Squid jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money” remains so potent years after it was minted.

Of course the pervasive accounting fraud and routine swindling that drive the banking “industry” are abetted by the phantom government “policy” of the Federal Reserve, an institution that 99.999 percent of the American public could not explain under threat of water-boarding. The bottom line is political and economic leadership that can only pretend the economy works, and the destiny of such pretense is the death of legitimacy – meaning the public’s faith in the system. Sooner or later either the public will revolt against such a system, or the system will just implode and leave the public floundering in a period of dreadful chaos.

Over 130 Mexican Prison Escapees On U.S. Border

Reuters is reporting over 130 prisoners in Mexico's prisons busted out and are now on the border that Mexico shares with the United States. The jailbreak is considered to be the one of the worst in Mexico's recent history:

Homero Ramos, attorney general of the northern state of Coahuila, said 132 inmates of the prison in the city of Piedras Negras had got out through the tunnel in an old carpentry workshop, then cut the wire surrounding the complex.

Corrupt prison officials may have helped the inmates escape, said Jorge Luis Moran, chief of public security in Coahuila, adding that U.S. authorities had been alerted to help capture the fugitives if they try to cross the border.

Disabled WWII and Korean War Veteran Faces Eviction, Freddie Mac Refuses to Return Calls

One of our fans made us aware of this situation, a WWII and Korean War Veteran, who had a stroke last year is facing eviction, along with his wife and disabled daughter. Mrs. Scott has tried to contact Freddie Mac to ask them to help her, but they will not return her calls.

“We don’t want a handout,” Sally Scott said from the porch of her Creve Coeur home. “We just want a fair deal, and we want someone to actually talk to us.”

Sally said she has never spoken to a representative from Freddie Mac over the phone or in person, even when they put her home into foreclosure several months ago

SBS who services their loan, said if they could talk Freddie Mac into rescinding the Foreclosure, they would work something out with the loan. Freddie Mac was bailed out by taxpayer dollars at over $120 billion! I think they owe it to this Veteran to give them a damn phone call!!

Councilwoman Laura Mitchell A No Show Again And More

Councilwoman Laura Mitchell has been a No Show for the last three Council Meetings. Her obsession with President Obama is clearly hurting City Taxpayers as she continues to do more and more business outside the inner works of the City of Salisbury, in which she was hired/elected to do.

Now you can find Laura and her Husband behind the scenes of the Democrat Write-In Candidate John LaFerla to run against Andy Harris in the 1st Congressional District.

In the past we have written about Mrs. Mitchell attending meetings she was not necessarily invited to as well as many trips to Annapolis.

On a good note, each meeting Laura has not been at flew by, (time wise). Yesterdays Council Work Session took no time at all. The Council discussed pay increases for the Police Department but also discussed possible pay increases in other Departments. No promises were made and they'll more than likely wait until after the new year to discuss it more.

One important issue the Council wants to investigate is why there was so much additional funding in surplus, something the Mayor has refused to openly discuss to this date.

In Other News: the County Council has a Work Session today starting moments from now. One of the major topics is the Humane Society and their lack of understanding the new legislation the Council passed about 2 years ago. The Council is receiving quite a bit of complaints from County residents and we'll deliver the Council's discussion about this topic later today or early tomorrow.

The McGuires, (from Delmar) are in Court this morning facing some of the charges against them. We'll follow up on that today and let you know the outcome of that hearing as well.

Cities Continue To Cut Jobs And Infrastructure In Face Of Recession's Impacts

Washington, DC - Cities continue to face the prolonged effects of the economic downturn according to a new report by the National League of Cities (NLC). The 27th annual City Fiscal Conditions report shows that for the sixth straight year city revenues continue to fall as financial pressures such as infrastructure, health care and pension costs combine with cuts in state and federal aid to weigh heavily on cities' bottom lines.

In a survey of city finance officers, the report shows that as a result of these pressures, cities are making personnel cuts, delaying or canceling infrastructure projects and cutting local services.

The report also projects that 2013 will continue to present challenges to city budgets due to stagnant housing markets, high unemployment, and looming federal budget cuts.

The full report can be accessed here: www.nlc.org/cfc2012

"This report demonstrates the difficult operating environment facing city officials," said Ted Ellis, NLC president and mayor of Bluffton, IN. He continued, "Local leaders are still paying their bills and working to create opportunities for growth in their local communities. But local governments need certainty and support from their federal counterparts."

Despite the news, the report does show some signs of fiscal improvement, with 43% of city finance officers revealing they are less able to meet city needs than last year. This number is an improvement over 2011 where 57% of finance officers said their city was less able to meet financial needs and considerably better than the 87% in 2010 and 88% in 2009 of finance officers who said they were less able to meet city fiscal needs than in the year prior.

More Money Expected For State Coffers

ANNAPOLIS — The state government could take in $180 million more than anticipated for the current fiscal year, according to new projections.
The Maryland Board of Revenue Estimates predicts the state’s general fund will receive $14.908 billion for fiscal 2013, the government spending year that started July 1, 2012. That’s an increase of $180 million over the last estimate from March.

In fiscal 2014, the state’s general fund is predicted to take in $15.317 billion.
State Comptroller Peter Franchot, who leads the Board of Revenue Estimates, said the increase is largely due to recent tax increases.

Romney Sticks By 'Victims' Comments, But Calls Them 'Off The Cuff'

Mitt Romney is sticking by his comments captured in a video at a fundraiser earlier this year in which he told donors that President Obama's base supporters are "reliant on government," don't pay taxes and "believe they are victims."
The Republican presidential nominee assembled a brief and to-the-point press conference Monday night to address the tape, which had been posted online by liberal magazine Mother Jones.
Romney, while saying his phrasing was not ideal, stood by the premise of his remarks, which reportedly came from a fundraiser in Florida.

GOVERNOR MARTIN O’MALLEY ANNOUNCES LEONARD HOWIE AS MARYLAND SECRETARY OF LABOR, LICENSING & REGULATION

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Martin O’Malley today announced Leonard Howie as Maryland’s Secretary of Labor, Licensing & Regulation. Mr. Howie previously served as Deputy Secretary for Operations at the Department of Human Resources (DHR) since November 2011.

“There’s nothing more important for a family than a good job, and there is no better way to expand opportunity, to grow our economy, and to strengthen and grow the ranks of an increasingly diverse and upwardly-mobile middle class than by creating jobs,” said Governor O’Malley. “We are confident in Leonard’s ability to connect Marylanders with the jobs and skills they need to compete. His belief in the strength of our State’s economy, and his expertise helping Marylanders navigate our safety net during tough times will serve the people of our State well. Under his leadership, Maryland will continue to grow and expand our highly-skilled, highly-educated workforce so our State can compete and win in the New Economy.”

"I’d like to thank Governor O’Malley for the opportunity to connect Marylanders with the type of skills development programs that will prepare them to contribute to the security of their and our economic future,” said Mr. Howie. “Working with the State's safety net programs during my tenure at DHR has provided unique and important insight into what can happen when there aren't enough jobs or when people do not have the skill sets that match the jobs that are available. I look forward to continue working in this Administration and giving Marylanders the skills they need to compete during our economic recovery.”

The Governor added, “I’d also like to thank Interim Secretary Scott Jensen for his outstanding work during this transition. His insight into our knowledge-based economy has been a tremendous asset to our Administration.”

Rising Middle East Violence A Precursor For US-Based Internal Combustion

Recent violence, or blowback if you will, throughout the Middle East is not surprising. Many in the mainstream media are attempting to portray the violent attacks, in particular the one against the US embassy in Benghazi, as the fallout from a recent film titled "Innocence of Muslims" that reflects poorly on Islam, to say the least.

Now, I admittedly haven't seen the film, nor do I think it matters. To me, the casting of blame on a movie that is highly insulting to Muslims is convenient. The truth of the matter is that the forces behind American politics, and world politics for that matter, desire the chaos that is ensuing throughout the Middle East. The rise of a militant Islamic crescent will create an ongoing platform for the continued good fight of democracy against insurgent Al-Qaeda fighters – who hate us, or so we are told.

When asked about the Libyan and Egyptian Arab Springs during interviews with the Russian television network, RT, I stated that the rise of radical factions like the Muslim Brotherhood would be the result of the misguided protests being instigated by organizations like the Alliance of Youth Movements and the US State Department. But I also stated that was exactly what the West wanted. To see exactly what I had to say and how accurately that played out, take a quick look at these two videos:
