"We're At War, Make No Mistake" - White House Official Blasts China Over COVID-Contagion

Outspoken White House official Peter Navarro cranked up the anti-China rhetoric to '11' this morning, telling Fox News that the US is currently “at war” with China:

“We are at war, make no mistake about that. The Chinese unleashed a virus on the world,” the Trump adviser told Fox & Friends on Monday.

The outspoken China hawk went on to explain how mad he was about Disneyland...

"It crossed me that Disneyland in Shanghai is opening this morning, while my own Disneyland in my own homeland in Orange County, in Anaheim, where Disneyland was born, is still shut because of the Chinese Communist Party. That makes me mad."

And reiterated that China will owe the US “some form of compensatory damage” following the pandemic.

Mexico demands investigation of notorious Obama scheme

U.S. gun-running plan allowed weapons to end up with drug cartels

The president of Mexico wants an apology and information from the United States regarding the Obama administration, gun-running program that put exotic weapons in the hands of Mexican drug cartels.

The plan was to trace the weapons to the cartels to bring charges. But the Obama administration operation lost track of most of the guns.

The Blaze reported President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador wants to prevent the same thing from happening again.

"What seems serious to me is that a violation of our sovereignty was carried out, a secret operation, and that Mexicans were killed with these weapons," Obrador said Friday. "How could this be? A government that invades in this way, that flagrantly violates sovereignty, international laws. We have to shine light on this so that an action of this type will never be carried out again."

Biden leads rush to judgment in Georgia shooting

"The video is clear: Ahmaud Arbery was killed in cold blood," tweeted presidential candidate Joe Biden in regard to the recently released video of the February shooting death of 25-year-old Ahmaud Arbery in Brunswick, Georgia.

In his shameless rush to judgment, Biden has taken a page straight out of Barack Obama's Trayvon Martin playbook.

The page reads as follows: In an election year, ignore all contrary evidence and recklessly indict a white (or white Hispanic) in the shooting death of an unarmed black man in the hope of stoking up the black vote.

Biden is in good company. All the usual suspects have rushed in to the judgment game, from LeBron James to Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump to the shameless propagandists of the mainstream media.

To make the propaganda work, the conspirators have to portray Arbrey's shooting as part of what Biden opportunistically called a "pandemic of hate." James echoed the same conspiratorial nonsense.

KT McFarland: 'Russia Hoax' Devised to Cover Up 'Something Very Big'

Members of the Obama administration and FBI officials knew there was no collusion between President Donald Trump, his 2016 campaign, and Russia from the beginning, but still dragged the country and the president's administration into three and a half years of perpetuating the hoax, former Deputy National Security Adviser K.T. McFarland said Monday.

"They knew there was no Russia collusion," McFarland, who served under Flynn during the first four months of the Trump administration, told Fox News' "Fox and Friends," adding that their distraction let China get stronger.

"They knew well before the Mueller investigation that there was no 'there' there," she said. "They wanted to deflect attention [from] something very big. I don't know what it was that they were trying to cover up, but they went to enormous lengths to cover it up. It's very clear it wasn't just a few rogue agents at the FBI. This is not done by some mid-level government official in the Justice Department or the FBI. It was the highest levels of the FBI."

How coronavirus attacks the entire body — damaging the brain, kidneys and more

While the coronavirus is known to cause deadly respiratory problems, research is showing the multitude of ways the disease can ravage the entire body.

Through a growing number of studies, reports and doctors’ experiences, the deadly virus has been linked to issues in everything from the brain to the toes.

Here is a breakdown of the ways COVID-19 can affect different parts of the body:
Eyes

The coronavirus has been observed to turn eyes red, causing pinkeye, or conjunctivitis, in some patients.

Physicians have suggested that the condition develops in the severely ill, and one study of 38 hospitalized patients in Hubei, China, found that a third had pinkeye.
Brain

Neurological symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, impaired consciousness and skeletal-muscle injuries have been documented among cases.

Sean Hannity: Former President Obama – The liar and hypocrite

The always sanctimonious former president is now upset that Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn will not likely spend time behind bars, or the rest of his life as a convicted felon.

In audio obtained by Yahoo News, Obama privately complains to members of the Obama Alumni Association that, “the fact that there is no precedent that anybody can find for someone who has been charged with perjury just getting off scot-free. That’s the kind of stuff where you begin to get worried that basic — not just institutional norms — but our basic understanding of the rule of law is at risk.”

The former president’s self-righteous, pearl-clutching statement is both blatantly dishonest and hypocritical.

In fact, Flynn was not even charged with perjury. He pled guilty to one count of making false statements to the FBI.

Chaffetz says new Flynn documents are 'smoking gun': Obama, Biden are 'scared' the truth will come out

The internal memos released from the FBI’s investigation of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn represent a “smoking gun” against the FBI under James Comey's leadership, former House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz said Monday.

“I do think it is the smoking gun,” Chaffetz told “America’s Newsroom's" Ed Henry.

Chaffetz recalled a meeting - before President Trump was inaugurated - involving President Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, former National Security Adviser Susan Rice, Comey and Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates in which they discussed matters "very specific to General Flynn.”

Chaffetz also said FBI agents went to the White House to interview Flynn without clearance and without abiding by protocol.

Martin Armstrong Explains Why No Democrat Will Admit The Truth About COVID-19

QUESTION:

Why are the democrats refusing to address the recent information which confirms that COVID-19 has a death rates of less than 1%? Why do they continue to try to scare people and pass acts to invade our privacy?

REPLY:

They have no incentive to tell the truth. There were people who sold everything long before the World Health Organization declared anything about this virus.

This has been an intended coup and that is really the bottom line. It was a Democrat who from Illinois, the basket-case of the United States, Bob Rush, who wants to effectively force people to be tested and to assist them in being imprisoned in their homes (see HR 6666).

I cannot image how a politicians grew up an American has crossed-over and became a tyrant and thinks this is OK.

San Fran DA touts liberal reforms in campaign email: End to cash bail, no sentence enhancements for gang crime

New San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin sent an email to supporters on Friday touting his accomplishments in his first four months in office, including ending cash bail, opting not to pursue sentencing enhancements for gang members and declining to prosecute many crimes for which evidence was acquired during a traffic stop.

Boudin was sworn into office in January following posts as a public defender and with nonprofits, as well as two federal law clerkships in the past decade. But notable in his biography are the facts that his parents are Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, notorious former leaders of the Weather Underground domestic terror group, and that Boudin formerly worked for the late Venezuelan socialist president, Hugo Chavez.

Now about 120 days into his term, Boudin checked in with his supporters in an email that addressed his office's response to the coronavirus pandemic, but also a number of other liberal reforms he promised during his campaign that led to fierce opposition from the local police union and vocal support from Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and other high-profile left-wing politicians.

"By replacing money bail with a risk-based system, people who are safe to be released get released quickly with appropriate, non-monetary conditions, and those who pose a serious threat to public safety are detained, regardless of their wealth," reads a news release from January announcing the city's new bail policy, which is highlighted in the Friday email.

HOME SCHOOLING FOR YOU

1. WHY ?
Why do men's clothes have buttons on the right while women's clothes have buttons on the left?

BECAUSE
When buttons were invented, they were very expensive and worn primarily by the rich. Since most people are right-handed, it is easier to push buttons on the right through holes on the left. Because wealthy women were dressed by maids, dressmakers put the buttons on the maid's right! And that's where women's buttons have remained since.

2. WHY?
Why do ships and aircraft use 'mayday' as their call for help?

BECAUSE
This comes from the French word m'aidez - meaning 'help me' - and is pronounced, approximately, 'mayday.'

3. WHY?
Why are zero scores in tennis called 'love'?

BECAUSE
In France, where tennis became popular, the round zero on the scoreboard looked like an egg and was called 'l'oeuf,' which is French for 'the egg.' When tennis was introduced in the US, Americans (naturally), mispronounced it 'love.'

4. WHY?
Why do X's at the end of a letter signify kisses?

BECAUSE
In the Middle Ages, when many people were unable to read or write, documents were often signed using an X. Kissing the X represented an oath to fulfill obligations specified in the document. The X and the kiss eventually became synonymous.

5. WHY?
Why is shifting responsibility to someone else called passing the buck'?

BECAUSE
In card games, it was once customary to pass an item, called a buck, from player to player to indicate whose turn it was to deal. If a player did not wish to assume the responsibility of dealing, he would 'pass the buck' to the next player.

6. WHY?
Why do people clink their glasses before drinking a toast?

BECAUSE
In earlier times it used to be common for someone to try to kill an enemy by offering him a poisoned drink. To prove to a guest that a drink was safe, it became customary for a guest to pour a small amount of his drink into the glass of the host Both men would drink it simultaneously. When a guest trusted his host, he would only touch or clink the host's glass with his own.

7. WHY?
Why are people in the public eye said to be 'in the limelight'?

BECAUSE
Invented in 1825, limelight was used in lighthouses and theatres by burning a cylinder of lime which produced a brilliant light. In the theatre, a performer 'in the limelight' was the center of attention.

8. WHY?
Why is someone who is feeling great 'on cloud nine'?

BECAUSE
Types of clouds are numbered according to the altitudes they attain, with nine being the highest cloud. If someone is said to be on cloud nine, that person is floating well above worldly cares.

9. WHY?
In golf, where did the term 'Caddie' come from?

BECAUSE
When Mary Queen of Scots went to France as a young girl, Louis, King of France, learned that she loved the Scots game 'golf.' He had the first course outside of Scotland built for her enjoyment. To make sure she was properly chaperoned (and guarded) while she played, Louis hired cadets from a military school to accompany her.

Mary liked this a lot and when she returned to Scotland (not a very good idea in the long run), she took the practice with her. In French, the word cadet is pronounced 'ca-day' and the Scots changed it into caddie.

10. WHY?
Why are many coin collection jar banks shaped like pigs?

BECAUSE
Long ago, dishes and cookware in Europe were made of dense orange clay called 'pygg'. When people saved coins in jars made of this clay, the jars became known as 'pygg banks.' When an English potter misunderstood the word, he made a container that resembled a pig. And it caught on.

Did James Clapper Lie To Congress About Briefing Obama On Flynn’s Phone Calls?

Former Director of National Intelligence (DNI) James Clapper testified to Congress in July of 2017 that he never briefed then-President Barack Obama on the substance of phone calls between Russian ambassador Sergei Kislyak and incoming National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. Accounts from fired former Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) executives James Comey and Andrew McCabe, however, directly contradict Clapper’s claim under oath that he never briefed Obama on the conversations between Flynn and Kislyak which were used to justify Flynn’s ouster as President Donald Trump’s top foreign policy adviser.

The identities of the Obama administration officials who were aware of the calls between Flynn and Kislyak have become a key question in the investigation of U.S. attorney John Durham to determine whether any laws were broken during the course of the Crossfire Hurricane probe of the Trump campaign. The substance of those calls, which is classified at the highest levels, was leaked to multiple Washington Post reporters in early January in order to create a pretext for the FBI to interview Flynn. Handwritten documents from Bill Priestap, the FBI’s top counterintelligence official at the time, show that FBI officials wanted to use the calls and their interview of Flynn to “get him fired” as Trump’s national security adviser.

On July 17, 2017, Clapper was called to testify before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence as part of the committee’s investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 elections. During that testimony, Clapper repeatedly testified that he was bothered to learn that Flynn, at the time the incoming president’s designee to serve as White House National Security Adviser, had repeatedly spoken to foreign leaders, such as Kislyak, during the presidential transition.

“Do you know who told you about the conversation [between Flynn and Kislyak]?” Rep. Francis Rooney, R-Fla., asked Clapper.

“Bobb Litt, my general counsel,” Clapper said.

“Did you ever brief President Obama on the phone call, the Flynn-Kislyak phone calls?” Rooney asked.

“No,” Clapper replied.

James Comey and Andrew McCabe, the director and deputy director of the FBI, respectively, both of whom were fired for corruption, directly contradicted Clapper’s testimony..

Study: Patients Low In Vitamin D Twice As Likely To Develop Severe COVID-19 Symptoms

A new study conducted at Northwestern University concludes that vitamin D may be an essential ingredient to protecting oneself from the coronavirus. The research team discovered a strong correlation between vitamin D deficiencies and mortality rates.

According to the study, the lower the vitamin D levels present in a patient’s body, the more likely that person will develop severe symptoms and complications.

Data used in this study encompassed numerous hospitals from all over the world, including China, France, Italy, South Korea, and the United States, among others. They found that patients in countries with higher mortality rates, such as Italy and Spain, usually had lower vitamin D levels than patients in other nations. However, the study’s authors caution that vitamin D certainly isn’t a cure for coronavirus, and more research on this matter is needed before any definitive recommendations can be made.

U.S. Congress Group Backs Ally Australia Against China Trade Threats

A bipartisan U.S. Congress group has slammed China for threatening punitive economic sanctions against Australia. The support follows Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s refusal to drop his call for an independent investigation into the origins of the global Chinese coronavirus pandemic.

In a letter to Australia’s U.S. Ambassador Arthur Sinodinos released by the Sydney Morning Herald, the 27 senators and House of Representatives members said China had made “deeply disturbing” threats against long-term U.S. ally Australia for seeking an inquiry into the origins of the viral outbreak first identified in the southern Chinese city of Wuhan. The politicians said in part:

"This incident is part of a broader and concerning pattern from the Chinese government.

"As we continue to confront this deadly disease and its consequences, we will be faced with many tough decisions, including those that may arise from the Chinese government’s continued lack of cooperation and transparency.

"No matter the external pressure or coercion, we will always have Australia’s back, just as Australia has always had ours."

Republican Senator Marco Rubio, Republican House member Liz Cheney and the co-chairs of the Friends of Australia caucus, Democrat Joe Courtney and Republican Mike Gallagher are just some of those included in the group supporting long-term ally Australia and its refusal to be bullied into silence by Beijing.

19 Iran Navy Sailors Dead, 15 Injured After Missile Incident in Gulf

Nineteen sailors are dead and 15 others left wounded after an Iranian naval support vessel was reportedly hit and sunk by a surface-to-surface missile late Sunday in a “friendly fire” incident.

The sinking happened during an exercise in the Sea of Oman, near the Iranian port city of Jask, according to one Iran state media outlet that also confirmed the “martyrdom” of the dead sailors.

A local hospital admitted 12 sailors and treated another three with slight wounds, the state-run IRNA news agency reported.

Local journalists said the frigate Jamaran was testing a new anti-ship surface-to-surface missile which mistakenly locked onto and hit Konarak, a logistical support patrol boat.

The Konarak was launched in the Netherlands and purchased by Iran before the 1979 Islamic revolution.

The Hendijan-class vessel is equipped with four cruise missiles.

TONIGHT 8pm. Gordon Ramsey Supports Revitalization Efforts in Ellicott City

Tonight at 8 p.m. ET, Ellicott City will be featured in a two-hour special episode of Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back. I was pleased to join Gordon for the episode’s filming back in February as he partnered with the Maryland National Guard and the local community to support revitalization efforts at three local restaurants.

As we approach the second anniversary of the historic flooding that devastated Ellicott City, Maryland’s small businesses now face a much different crisis. I encourage Marylanders to continue supporting their local businesses with curbside pickup and delivery options as we prepare for Maryland’s safe and gradual reopening. We are all in this together, and we will get through this together.

Trump escalates feud with Obama, insists ex-president was involved in ‘crime’

President Trump on Monday escalated his feud with former President Obama, insisting during a news conference that his predecessor committed a “crime” but refusing to dive into details.

When asked by a reporter in the Rose Garden what crime he is accusing Obama of committing, Trump responded: “Obamagate, it’s been going on for a long time, it’s been going on from before I got elected, and it's a disgrace that it happened. You look at now all of this information that’s being released and from what I understand that’s only the beginning.”

When pressed for details, the commander in chief told a Washington Post reporter, "You know the crime. The crime is very obvious to everybody. All you have to do is read the newspapers, except yours."

Trump on Sunday quoted a tweet that accused Obama of using “his last weeks in office to target incoming officials and sabotage the new administration.”

Rafael Nadal lobs shot at Novak Djokovic over vaccination comment: 'Everyone will have to follow the rules'

President Trump abruptly ended his Rose Garden news conference on Monday after a round of exchanges with CBS News reporter Weijia Jiang and CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins.

In what ended up being the final question from the briefing, Jiang grilled Trump about his ongoing tout of coronavirus testing in the U.S. in comparison to other countries around the world.

"You've said many times that the U.S. is doing far better than any other country when it comes to testing. ... Why does that matter? Why is this a global competition to you if everyday Americans are still losing their lives and we're still seeing more cases every day?" Jiang asked.

Trump responded by taking aim at China, a country that some suspect has not been releasing accurate data regarding its own coronavirus cases and deaths.

Grenell Gives DOJ List Of Obama Officials Involved In Flynn Unmasking Scandal; Waiting On Barr To Release

And according to the Daily Wire: "A source with knowledge of the matter told The Daily Wire that the list has already been declassified and now it’s on Attorney General William Barr to release the list."

It may be popcorn time...

Richard Grenell, President Trump's acting Director of National Intelligence who successfully pressured Adam Schiff (D-CA) into releasing bombshell transcripts from the Russia investigation, is now after former officials from the Obama administration involved in the so-called "unmasking" of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn during his conversations with the former Russian ambassador following the 2016 election, according to ABC News.

Florida police officer drove over 66-year-old beachgoer, investigators say

A 66-year-old man was injured at a Florida beach on Friday after a police officer drove a cruiser over him, investigators said.

William Koziarz of Michigan was laying on a beach in Indian Shores when the officer, driving a fully marked 2018 Ford Explorer, ran him over, according to a press releasefrom the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

The officer was 27-year-old Natasha Hindman of the Indian Shores Police Department. She had reportedly just started her beach patrol.

“As Officer Hindman drove along the sand at low speed, the left side tires of her cruiser drove over the hips of 66-year-old William Koziarz, who was lying on the sand,” the sheriff’s office said.

Hinman immediately stopped to render aid until the paramedics arrived.

Koziarz was transported to Bayfront Health in St. Petersburg with “serious, but non-life threatening injuries.”

Attorney for Tara Reade seeks searches of Joe Biden’s Delaware, Senate papers

An attorney for Tara Reade, the woman accusing Joe Biden of sexual assault in 1993, on Monday urged the Office of the Secretary of the U.S. Senate to "reconsider" itsdecision not to release personnel records due to "confidentiality" concerns -- and called on Biden to voluntarily turn over the large collection of his Senate papers, currently housed on friendly territory at the University of Delaware.

The attorney, Douglas Wigdor, authored a Medium post on Monday announcing that he had sent a letter specifically urging the Senate to turn over a complaint he says Reade filed in 1993 with the Office of Senate Fair Employment Practices, concerning the alleged harassment she experienced in Biden's office.

Biden -- who has repeatedly denied Reade's allegations -- has also called on the Senate to produce any such record, but the Senate's legal counsel responded that the Secretary "has no discretion to disclose any such information as requested in Vice President Biden’s letter of May 1.”

CrowdStrike Had No Evidence Of Russians Stealing Emails From DNC, Declassified Transcript Shows

The cybersecurity firm that investigated and remediated the alleged hack of the Democratic National Committee’s servers in 2016 found no direct evidence that hackers stole any data or emails, according to a newly declassified interview transcript.

Shawn Henry, the president of CrowdStrike Services, told the House Intelligence Committee in late 2017 that his firm had no evidence that the alleged Russian hackers stole any data from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) servers.

“There’s not evidence that they were actually exfiltrated,” Henry said.

“There’s circumstantial evidence, but no evidence that they were actually exfiltrated.”

The publication by WikiLeaks of more than 44,000 emails from senior DNC officials became one of the biggest stories of the turbulent 2016 presidential race and served as the predicate for the FBI’s investigation of the Trump campaign. Special counsel Robert Mueller, who took over the probe in May 2017, eventually charged a group of Russians with hacking the DNC. The indictment alleges that the Russians hacked into the DNC and stole thousands of emails.

Prior to Mueller’s indictment, the public knowledge of the alleged DNC hack consisted of CrowdStrike’s brief report on the matter released on June 14, 2016, days after the firm claims to have ousted the hackers from the committee’s systems. The report makes no mention of stolen data, although Henry told The Washington Post in an article published the same day that the Russians allegedly “stole two files.”

HUGE! Clinton Campaign Attorney Mark Elias Admitted in Testimony He Sent the Bill from Fusion GPS for Dossier Directly to Campaign Manager Robbie Mook

On Saturday The Gateway Pundit reported that thanks to newly released transcripts Hillary Campaign chairman John Podesta admitted during testimony that both the DNC and Hillary Campaign split the cost of the bogus Trump-Russia dossier in 2016 that initially launched the attempted coup against Donald Trump.

John Podesta was Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman in 2016.
CNN reported in October 2017 that Podesta and then DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz “both denied to congressional Russia investigators that they had any knowledge about an arrangement to pay for opposition research on President Donald Trump, three sources familiar with the matter told CNN.”

But that is not what John Podesta told House Intelligence investigators under oath in his December 2017 testimony.

John Podesta admitted under oath that the DNC and the Hillary Campaign split the cost of the Trump-Russia dossier.

Former Lawmaker Sandy Adams: “Eric Holder Either Incompetent Or Untruthful About Gun Running”

The GOP lawmaker who confronted Obama-era Attorney General Eric Holder and held him accountable for his involvement in the “Fast and Furious” gun running scandal that provided high powered firearms to cartel members who eventually murdered Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry is sounding the alarm once again.

Sandy Adams, a former undercover law enforcement officer and veteran who served one term in congress during the Tea Party wave of 2010 has told TGP that Holder and Obama need to be held accountable for many things.

TGP reached out to former lawmaker Congresswoman Adams after hearing Mexico is signaling that the United States can still apologize for the gun running that aided violent cartels.

“As a former law enforcement officer, I can tell you that it is highly unlikely that guns would have been able to walk across the Southern border without approval from the Attorney General. The fact that Attorney General Holder claimed he had now knowledge of this operation until after Agent Terry was murdered means he was incompetent or untruthful.”

Mexico’s President Calls for Investigation Into “Fast and Furious”

Apologists for former President Barack Obama love to claim that his administration was scandal free – a claim that may appear true to someone who didn’t pay any attention whatsoever during the Obama administration.

There were numerous scandals under his administration, and the Spygate scandal is still making headlines today as new documents continue exposing new depths to his administration’s corruption.

And that’s not the only scandal we may be learning more about. As The Blaze reports:

"Mexico’s president asked the United States for answers and an apology for the Obama-era gun-running operation known as “Fast and Furious.” On Friday, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador called for an investigation into Operation Fast and Furious to prevent it from happening again."

For anyone who needs their memory refreshed, Fast and Furious was an operation carried out by the ATF between 2009-2011 in which they deliberately sold over 2,000 firearms to illegal straw buyers with the hopes of tracking them to Mexican drug cartel leaders so they could be arrested. The absurd scheme went about as well as you’d expect from that brief description. In the end, the guns were used to kill hundreds of Mexicans and one American border patrol agent, and no cartel leaders were apprehended.

Lawmakers eye reforms to $600 unemployment benefit in bid to save jobs

Lawmakers are eyeing changes to the $600 payment boost to unemployment benefits to alleviate the incentives leading some workers to choose to remain jobless.

Adding to the urgency is that business owners with granted Paycheck Protection Program loans are having a hard time re-hiring furloughed workers because of the unemployment benefit. Yet, if they cannot get those workers back, they risk the loan not being forgiven.

Lawmakers hope to address the problem, which stems from the fact that the increased benefits mean that many would lose money, either by reducing the payment or providing workers with a bonus for staying on the job.

Want to see if your NY region is ready to reopen? State launches new dashboard

New York has launched a new dashboard that shows how every region of the state is doing on all seven requirements they must meet to begin reopening their economies.

The dashboard can be viewed online. The information is updated every 24 hours, said Jim Malatras, an aide to Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Malatras spoke during a press conference today in Irondequoit, near Rochester.

Cuomo first closed schools and nonessential businesses in the state in March to slow the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

The current shutdown order expires May 15. In regions meeting the reopening requirements, a phased economic restart can begin after that.

Much of Upstate New York is close to meeting all the benchmarks for reopening. Central New York is just one metric away. The region must still boost testing for the virus, according to the state.

Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon has been saying he’s confident the region will have enough testing by May 15. He said this afternoon he believes the area already does and vowed Central New York will be ready on time.

Pulitzer Prize-Winning 1619 Project Set to Advance Socialism Teaching in the Classroom

The Pulitzer Prize Board recently awarded its commentary award to The New York Times’ Nikole Hannah-Jones for her essay launching the “1619 Project.” This will accelerate a trend already underway: subjecting schoolchildren to a curriculum that blames slavery on capitalism and whose creator believes socialism offers the best path to racial equity.

The overt political nature of the 1619 Project should alert parents, educators, members of school boards, and political leaders that a major political experiment is being practiced on the nation’s schoolchildren.

The 1619 Project isn’t just a series of articles placing slavery at the center of the American story. It is also a curriculum that is sweeping the land. No sooner had the prize been announced than the Pulitzer Center—which is independent of the prizes—was using it to promote that curriculum.

The center boasted that it had “connected curricula based on the work of Hannah-Jones and her collaborators to some 4,500 classrooms since August 2019.”

Trump's spy chief declassifies list of ALL Obama administration officials who were 'involved in unmasking Michael Flynn' and hands their names over to the DOJ

President Trump's acting chief of national intelligence has declassified a list of former Obama administration officials said to be involved in the 'unmasking' of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Richard Grenell, the acting Director of National Intelligence, paid a visit to the Justice Department headquarters last week in Washington, DC, and brought a list of former Obama aides with him, ABC News is reporting.

'Unmasking' is the revelation that an American citizen's name appears in intelligence gathering like eavesdropping or wiretaps that are initially aimed at suspected foreign agents.

Supporters of Trump allege that members of the Obama administration improperly sought to investigate Flynn over contacts he had with the ambassador to Russia.

MLB Owners Approve Plan to Start Season in July

Major League Baseball owners gave the go-ahead Monday to making a proposal to the players’ union that could lead to the coronavirus-delayed season starting around the Fourth of July weekend in ballparks without fans, a plan that envisioned expanding the designated hitter to the National League for 2020.

Spring training would start in early to mid-June, a person familiar with the decision told The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because details of the plan were not announced.

Each team would play about 82 regular-season games, most against opponents in its own division with interleague matchups limited to AL East vs. NL East, AL Central vs. NL Central and AL West vs. NL West.

TREASURY MAKES A RESTAURANT-REQUESTED TWEAK IN THE PPP'S FORGIVENESS RULES

Borrowers will no longer be dinged for furloughed employees who decline their old jobs.

In what the National Restaurant Association described as a win for restaurants, the U.S. Department of the Treasury said it will not lower the forgiven amount of a Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan if a laid-off employee declines an offer to resume his or her job.

Under the PPP, a loan can turn into a grant if at least 75% of the funds are spent on payroll within eight weeks of being granted. Restaurateurs have found that some of the experienced staff they’ve invited back to work have declined the job offer because they’ve found new employment or are making more in unemployment aid and other forms of relief. Finding a replacement within the eight-week time frame has sometimes proven difficult.

Prior to yesterday’s rule change, the amount of forgiveness would be lowered as a result of the former employee’s decision. But Treasury exercised its legislated “de minimus” authority—the power to make changes in the program of minimal consequence—to allow the pay for that unfilled job to be included in the forgiveness calculation.

Under the interim rule change revealed yesterday, employers are required to make the job offer in writing and document that it was declined by the employee.

A Viewer Writes: WTH? Conservatives Calling for Marshal Law? Scary Stuff! AND updated, Its now a financial Crisis 5_8_2020

Hi Joe

I want to thank you again for returning my email back in March. It was very concerning to see the facts you presented. Yet, I didn’t feel then and more so now, do not feel, that the “medical science” was the entire reason, method and implementation of this total economic shutdown.

As many of your blog followers have expressed, I am glad you and your blog are now providing a beacon of awareness in this dark time. Alternative facts, real science and truthful statistics, not from the MSM. Thank you again for taking the time, energy and to care enough about locals to provide news that rarely appears on or in any local MSM.

I am a Sussex County Delaware “Local”. For the past few weeks I have attend a number of ZOOM meetings with our Governor, Senator Coons and weekly with the Delaware small business caucus. The small businesses of Delaware are trying to convey to our Governor, “this is no longer just a medical crisis”. We are now in a financial crisis that was, is, and continues to be created by the Government. The government “the majority” elected is not listening to the citizens of this state. AND is NOT protecting the financial welfare (btw- I am not of the majority party) of the citizens of this state. My fear isn’t covid19, my much greater fear is the financial crisis, which will last far beyond covid19.

Joe, the LOCAL MSM, state and local reps, provides us with stats(some contrived) on COVID19, DAILY. A big in-our-face media chart.

What if there is a similar chart! THE FINACIAL CRISIS UDPATES!
Total current number receiving unemployment. Updated daily with new applications.
Total state government cost of unemployment payments. Updated daily.
Unemployment numbers by business groups. i.e. restaurants, hotels, salons, etc.
Updated daily
Total State lost tax revenue. Updated it daily.
Total loss of revenue to business owners, updated daily.
Businesses filing for Bankruptcies, By business type. Updated daily.

These are REAL numbers, NOT some funky medical coded agenda driven narrative.

The general public and MSM consumers, only see the Medical emergency and a majority of the uniformed still feel we need to endure this for the sake of ALL, with no end in sight. Its time the general population of our states KNOW the financial facts and the gravity of the financial situation our governments continue to place upon us. I appreciate that your blog is providing information readers can compare to MSM and make our own decisions.

I will leave the even greater Constitutional Crisis for another day.

Once your restaurant and bar are open, I look forward to bringing my family and meeting a fellow citizen, a patriot of live and local Delmarva.

Keep the faith

Candace Owens argues Ahmaud Arbery shooting isn’t about race, draws outrage

In a series of tweets, the frequent Fox News guest suggested Arbery committed a crime when no evidence in the case suggests that it is true

Controversial right-wing commentator Candace Owens is known to draw outrage for her public comments, and her recent statements on the shooting death of unarmed Ahmaud Arbery were certainly on brand.

Owens, who was locked out of Twitter a week ago for encouraging a political revolt in Michigan over its shelter-in-place orders, returned to the social media platform to slam the media and protesters decrying the role of racism in Arbery’s murder.

Study: Virus May Have Started as Early as October

The coronavirus pandemic may have started as early as October, Britain’s Telegraph reported Friday, citing a new joint study by University College London and the University of Reunion Island.

Doubts about the outbreak’s previously reported starting point emerged after a French athlete, who fell ill after competing in the Military World Games held in Wuhan in October, said she had been told by doctors she’d likely contracted Covid-19.

The study’s findings are based on analysis of more than 7,000 genome sequence assemblies collected worldwide since January.

Local leaders should make their own decisions on reopening, Gov. Hogan says

Prince George's and Montgomery officials say their counties are not ready for a "phase one" reopening.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. —
A spokesman for Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan says Hogan will "actively encourage" local leaders to make the decisions that are best for their areas when it comes to any plans for reopening the state.

Already leaders in Montgomery and Prince George's counties have said their jurisdictions are not ready to move forward with any reopening plan.

Hogan had expressed optimism that Maryland could move to Phase One of a reopening plan sometime this week

"We actively encourage local leaders to make plans and decisions that are best for their residents, and the governor has said there may be some regional aspects to the reopening," Hogan spokesman Michael Ricci said in an email to WUSA9. "It's something we continue to discuss with county leaders."

ICU Doctor: What I Wish People Knew About Coronavirus

My father-in-law recently asked me if it is hard to see hospitals and death in film because their depictions are so inaccurate. Yes, it can ruin the realism for me and make me cringe. Then I realized that just watching the news or press conferences these days are giving me the same feeling.

Everyone seems to be talking about intensive care units (ICUs) and COVID-19 patients. As someone who has been dealing with these things every day, I am qualified to share some rarely discussed aspects.

Firstly, ICU doctors look for patterns. We like putting patients into logical categories to help organize our assessments and plans. “This patient is a recurrent urinary tract infection patient, indwelling foley, so likely has a severely high level of antibiotic resistance.” “This is one of those pear-shaped chain smokers with unstable angina who likely has a 99% LAD lesion and hypertriglyceridemia.”

The numbers we see on the screen of a patient’s chart give us tremendous insight into what the expected pattern of behavior a disease process will take in the ICU. With COVID-19, it is like that clichéd scene in the movies where the scientist looks up from the microscope and says, “This doesn’t seem to behave like anything I’ve ever seen before.”
