The Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Teaching Systems Lab conducted the study, collecting data from the education department websites from all 50 states. They looked at whether the states provided certain resources, answers for parents and other guidance to assist with remote learning.
Of the 21 criteria marks, Maryland only checked off three: providing the status of assessments, a statement about special education services and a statement about equity.
Texas had the most with 17. Delaware had 13, Pennsylvania 11 and Virginia 10.
The state is failing the young people again..

Not one bit surprised. The adm has botched this. They are too worried about being sued for something. Do not put this on the teachers. They have their hands tied by an inept adm at the state and local levels.
With all the tax money thrown at MD schools you would think we would be # one. Someone is getting rich. Follow the money.
It wouldn't be the first time that Maryland was last in doing something for its people.
How about the billion dollar Keaho (sp) that the Dems pushed thru in a closed session? The Crats still can't educate the kids.
You are a fat, fascist asshole and I hope your business fails.
We been sayin this for years, students might remotely be learning but more than likely not.
You are a fat, fascist asshole and I hope your business fails.
Damn MD is LAST in country to get our damn Unemployment $$$ to us !!!
Typical for Rogue Hogan not looking out for MD citizens.
Exactly what I was thinking. What a shameful situation.
My wife and I were just talking about this topic. I talk to many folks across the country and this subject is always discussed. From those discussions, it is very clear that MD is way behind on this. A shame for sure, and they really don’t have a plan.
If you look at any numerous ratings on public education in the states Texas always ranks below 35.
Maryland normally ranks in the top 15.
So it just depends on what is being ranked and by who.
In other words......don’t believe everything you read.
Increase taxes and give more to MD school systems. That seems to be the only answer MD politicians and school boards know.
Well it's hard to get and keep good teachers when MD decided to let kids cuss out teachers, fight, do drugs, roam the halls, and get passed with zero work. Maybe if they stop being liberal pansies bowing down to political correctness and take the schools back then it'll change.
Don’t worry. The kirwan will fix it.......
I can remember many years ago Maryland teachers were paid the best - every teacher wanted to teach in Maryland. Students were doing well - What happened?
To Anyone supporting the Kirwan Commission:
You are a fat, fascist asshole and I hope your business fails.
Don't hold your head low to long, the Kirwin 2.5 billion in the next 5 years tax hike will make it so the tide pod eating kids will be smarter and not eat tide pods!!!!!
