It's Game Day At Caribbean Joe's

Come join us today for all the NFL games. The Ravens game starts at 1 PM.

A Viewer Writes "Joe, What's Going ON At DMV"

Hey Joe, have you or any of your viewers shared an experience similar to what recently happened at the Salisbury DMV with my son? He went to the DMV to register for the "REQUIRED" Real ID Enrollment. He had the required documents but for some reason they would not accept his birth certificate. Now this is the same birth certificate that was used he entered our school system. It's the same birth certificate that was used when he went to get his drivers learner permit and license. It was the same birth certificate that was used when he applied for his passport and now, out of the blue, his birth certificate was suddenly not acceptable."But", they sent him over to the Health Department and for $22.00 they printed up a "New" birth certificate that they would accept.

Something stinks here. Whose pocket or what fund is all this extra money going into? When someone applies for their Maryland license all the same information the Real ID Enrollment is asking for they already have. So what has happened? Have they lost all that information and are they trying to quietly get it back without telling anyone.? Has their security system been hacked in some way that they can't use their old system again? Is this just a way that Maryland has figured out that they could make a few bucks? (You know - taxes&fees)? We all know who controls the General Assembly.

So, what's going on? Is this an isolated incident or has others had similar experiences?

Hallmark Channel Blasted For Lack Of Inclusion, Diversity

The Hallmark Channel has now been scrutinized for having a lack of religious and racial diversity during its “Countdown to Christmas” programming.

According to The Hollywood Reporter (THR), the Hallmark Channel featured just four movies this year with black leads and virtually no other religious representation outside of Judaism and Christianity.

“Of the network’s record 24 original holiday movies this season, four of them have black leads,” reported THR. “And that’s down from last year, when five of its 21 original holiday movies had black leads.”

Notre Dame Students Demand to Read Fewer White Authors

Activists at the University of Notre Dame are demanding a radical transformation of school policies and curriculum to purportedly cater to the desires of non-white, LGBT, and female students.

A student group calling itself “End Hate at ND” has issued a list of demands and has held multiple campus protests in an attempt to bring about those changes.

Included in the list are calls to “Decolonize Academia” and “Implement Diversity Training In Each Dorm.”

“No course or program of study should have a view limited to white, western, and/or male voices,” the group says. “We demand that people who are of Color, Indigenous, Black, queer, or not male are represented in the authorship of at least half course and major required readings. Diversifying the canon helps eliminate the violence of only privileging white scholarship.”

Melania Trump Booed, Cheered at Student Opioid Summit

Melania Trump on Tuesday urged students at a youth summit to avoid misusing drugs, saying that would make it harder for them to achieve.

She went to Maryland to address the Baltimore Youth Summit on Opioid Awareness, appearing on behalf of her “Be Best” youth campaign, which includes a focus on the U.S. epidemic of often deadly opioid use.

But her brief remarks at the event in Baltimore were met with cheers and boos from an audience of middle and high school students that remained noisy throughout her entire five-minute address.

When the audience remained rowdy after she began to speak, she interrupted her remarks to say, “Hello, everyone,” before continuing.

Ken Cuccinelli run out of D.C. bar by Martin O'Malley over Trump policies

Ken Cuccinelli, the acting deputy secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, was reportedly chased out of a Capitol Hill bar Wednesday by former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, who berated him over the Trump administration’s immigration stance.

According to a witness who took to Twitter after the incident, Mr. Cuccinelli was driven out of a Thanksgiving Eve party at the Dubliner — a bar popular among Gonzaga High School graduates, a school both Mr. Cuccinelli and Mr. O’Malley attended.

“Martin O’Malley just drove Ken Cuccinelli out of the Dubliner in DC w/ a passion-laced and shame-invoking tirade on behalf of immigrant refugee children!!!” Siobhan Houton Arnold tweeted.

In a followup interview with The Washington Post, Ms. Arnold — who works in Villanova University’s media relations — said Mr. O’Malley was “shouting” at Mr. Cuccinelli, who only responded that it was “time to go” before leaving the bar.

Judiciary Committee announces December impeachment hearing, invites Trump to participate

The House Judiciary Committee is taking over the next phase of the impeachment inquiry into President Trump as Chairman Jerrold Nadler announced plans for a hearing next week to weigh whether the president's actions reach a level of “high crimes and misdemeanors" and warrant articles of impeachment.

Nadler, D-N.Y., penned a letter to the president on Tuesday announcing a hearing for Dec. 4 at 10 a.m., and notifying him of the committee’s intentions to provide him with “certain privileges” while they consider "whether to recommend articles of impeachment to the full House.”

Nadler also extended an invitation to the president, asking whether “you and your counsel plan to attend the hearing or make a request to question the witness panel.”

Millennials are the biggest — but poorest — generation

Millennials became the biggest U.S. generation this year, numbering some 73 million people. In terms of wealth, by contrast, they're still living in the shadow of previous generations.

Despite making up nearly a quarter of the population, millennials — defined as those born between 1981 and 1996 — own a scant 3% of the country's wealth, according to the Federal Reserve's Survey of Consumer Finances. In comparison, when baby boomers were the age millennials are today (around 1989), they controlled 21% of all national wealth. Generation-X'ers at the same age (in 2004) held 6%.

And it's not simply that millennials aren't amassing much wealth — they're also sinking deeper into debt, carrying a disproportionately high 16% of the nation's liabilities, the Fed data show.

VA Governor: ‘We Welcome Refugee Resettlement In Virginia’

Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam has opened the state to any and all refugees.

Northam sent a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo Monday asserting that Virginia will welcome refugees as set up under executive order 13888, “Enhancing State and Local Involvement in Refugee Resettlement.” The order says the federal government will resettle refugees only in jurisdictions in which both the state and local governments have consent to receive them.

“I have read federal Executive Order 13888, and I write to reaffirm Virginia’s position that we welcome refugee resettlement in the Commonwealth,” he wrote in the letter.

“Virginia’s lights are on and our doors are open, and we welcome new Virginians to make their homes here,” the governor wrote.

Sources: NFL teams haven't called Colin Kaepernick since QB's Nov. 16 workout

In the week since Colin Kaepernick worked out for seven NFL teams at Charles R. Drew High School in Riverdale, Georgia, no teams have reached out to work him out, visit with him or sign him, league sources told ESPN.

Kaepernick, 32, remains unemployed, and NFL teams remain uninterested in his services -- the same story that has followed the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback for almost three years.

Kaepernick's representatives sent video of their client's workout to the 25 NFL teams that did not attend last Saturday, but that has not led to any interest, either.

White Horse Park Residents Take Fight Against County’s Enforcement Plan To Court

SNOW HILL – Fulltime residents of White Horse Park are suing Worcester County over its plan to enforce decades-old occupancy restrictions.

Attorney Hugh Cropper, representing a group of about 55 permanent residents of White Horse Park, has launched a multi-pronged response to the county’s plan to fine residents who fail to leave the community during the winter months. Cropper filed a complaint for declaratory judgement Nov. 21 and an administrative appeal on Nov. 19 in Worcester County Circuit Court.

“I feel like I need to cover all my bases to preserve the appellate rights of my clients,” Cropper said. “It’s just a very unusual situation.”

White Horse Park, a quiet community at the end of Beauchamp Road near Ocean Pines, was created in the early 1980s as one of two campground subdivisions in Worcester County. Though it was initially a place for vacationers to park their RVs, in the decades since it’s gradually filled up with park model and modular homes. Roughly 55 of the community’s 465 units are occupied by year-round residents. Many of them are senior citizens who have lived in White Horse Park for years. While that’s technically not permitted under the campground subdivision regulations—which say that between Sept. 30 and April 1 units shall not be occupied for more than 30 consecutive days or an aggregate of 60 days—those regulations weren’t enforced.

Queen cancels Prince Andrew’s birthday party over Epstein interview fallout

Queen Elizabeth II pulled the plug on Prince Andrew’s birthday bash as his connection to Jeffrey Epstein continues to embarrass the royal family.

The prince was set to have a birthday bash at Buckingham Palace to celebrate his 60th birthday in February, but his mother has canceled the celebration in the wake of his controversial interview with BBC, according to The Times.

During the interview, Andrew denied that he knew Epstein’s accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who accused the Duke of York of raping her while she was trapped in Epstein’s alleged sex trafficking ring. Photographs of Giuffre and Andrew prove that the two had met, but he claimed he would have remembered the encounter if it were sexual.
