WWII veteran calls for help and dies as nurses laugh, video shows

A hidden video from 2014 showed nurses laughing as a World War II veteran repeatedly called for help and died while in their care.

The family of James Dempsey, 89, of Woodstock, Ga., hid a camera in the late veteran’s room in the Northeast Atlanta Health and Rehabilitation Center which captured the night he died.

The video showed the decorated WWII veteran repeatedly calling for help, saying he could not breathe. It also showed the nurses failing to take life-saving measures and laughing as they tried to start an oxygen machine.

Steve Bannon on the Bush Family: 'I’ve Got No Time for Them'

Breitbart News Executive Chairman and former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon tore into the Bush dynasty Friday, saying he has “no time for them” and explaining how they are an example of the “permanent political class.”

Bannon spoke at a retreat at the David Horowitz Freedom Center in Palm Beach Florida, and he made reference to the recent book The Last Republicans, in which it is reported that neither President George H.W. Bush nor President George W. Bush voted for President Trump.

He told the audience:

When old man Bush, between grabbing women in the Oval Office (yeh I went there) when he says that he voted for Hillary Clinton and when Bush 43 — the most destructive president and the most destructive presidency in the history of our country, including James Buchanan, when he says he didn’t vote, he voted some write-in, or he didn’t vote for President Trump, that’s all you got to know about those guys.

He said their inability to make a distinction between Trump and Clinton shows how they are fundamentally entwined with the permanent political class.

What if Ken Starr Was Right?

In the longstanding liberal narrative about Bill Clinton and his scandals, the one pushed by Clinton courtiers and ratified in media coverage of his post-presidency, our 42nd president was only guilty of being a horndog, his affairs were nobody’s business but his family’s, and oral sex with Monica Lewinsky was a small thing that should never have put his presidency in peril.

That narrative could not survive the current wave of outrage over male sexual misconduct.

So now a new one may be forming for the age of Harvey Weinstein and Donald Trump. In this story, Kenneth Starr and the Republicans are still dismissed as partisan witch hunters. But liberals might be willing to concede that the Lewinsky affair was a pretty big deal morally, a clear abuse of sexual power, for which Clinton probably should have been pressured to resign.

This new narrative lines up with what’s often been my own assessment of the Clinton scandals. I have never been a Clinton hater; indeed, I’ve always been a little mystified by the scale of Republican dislike for the most centrist of recent Democratic leaders. So I’ve generally held what I’ve considered a sensible middle-ground position on his sins — that he should have stepped down when the Lewinsky affair came to light, but that the Republican effort to impeach him was a hopeless attempt to legislate against dishonor.

But a moment of reassessment is a good time to reassess things for yourself, so I spent this week reading about the lost world of the 1990s. I skimmed the Starr Report. I leafed through books by George Stephanopoulos and Joe Klein and Michael Isikoff. I dug into Troopergate and Whitewater and other first-term scandals. I reacquainted myself with Gennifer Flowers and Webb Hubbell, James Riady and Marc Rich.

After doing all this reading, I’m not sure my reasonable middle ground is actually reasonable. It may be that the conservatives of the 1990s were simply right about Clinton, that once he failed to resign he really deserved to be impeached.

Lyndon Johnson's Terrible Legacy

Recently my wife and I spent a morning at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library in Austin, Texas. The damage done by this big bully is incalculable. His library reminds us of the start of the blizzard of government expansion during Johnson's presidential term, which lasted from the Kennedy assassination in October 1963 to his decision not to run for a full second term in 1968, which usually is attributed to his failure to end the war in Vietnam.

Johnson was an admirer of FDR and was determined to revive and complete what he believed should have been integral parts to FDR's New Deal. Johnson called his program The Great Society.

As if ignorance of the consequences of this socialist expansion of domestic control by government was not enough, LBJ expanded the war in Vietnam, promising America both Guns and Butter. Even today we live with this expansion of government domestic programs and seemingly never-ending wars as the modern Welfare/Warfare state.
The Johnson Treatment

I called Johnson a big bully in the paragraph above. I believe my assessment is justified by what actually is celebrated at his presidential library. The displays proudly explain and document "the Johnson touch" in print, photograph, and actual recorded telephone interviews. Johnson was a big man who towered over most people. He had a habit of getting very close to someone, leaning over at the waist, and forcing his partner in conversation to bend over backwards to avoid an uncomfortable encounter with LBJ's face. There is a large picture of Johnson giving Supreme Court Associate Justice Abe Fortas this "Johnson Treatment", literally face-to-face.Fortas, who was a long time LBJ supporter, appears to be taking the "Treatment" in good humor, but it is easy to see how it would be almost impossible to keep one's dignity with the president of the United States performing this obviously uncomfortable act.

Packin' Pastor Shoots Intruder

Georgia pastor shoots home invader in wee hours of the morning.

Pictures from the incident show the broken basement window and the quaint country home not too far off of Georgia Highway 92.

Law enforcement said Simmons received a gunshot wound to the head and collapsed in the family’s back yard when he was presumably trying to get away. Simmons was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital where he is currently in stable condition.

Charges are pending for the attempted burglar, who apparently lived nearby, but local investigators said they were not sure why the pastor’s family was targeted.

Democrats Defensive About Clinton’s Name on New Hampshire Fund-Raising Dinner

The New Hampshire Democratic Party’s annual fall fundraising dinner was part celebration of this year’s victories by state Democrats and part pep-rally for the bigger electoral fights ahead in 2018.

The dinner, held in Hollis, was also an early screen test for two 2020 Democratic White House hopefuls.

And the annual Kennedy-Clinton dinner also came with some controversy, as hours before the gathering the chairwoman of the New Hampshire GOP called for former President Bill Clinton’s name to be dropped from the event because of the revived sexual misconduct debate over the former president.

The dinner was held just a week and a half after the party enjoyed a big night in municipal elections, including Joyce Craig becoming the first woman ever and the first Democrat in 14 years to win a Manchester mayoral election. Democrats also swept the field in Nashua’s elections for board of aldermen and was victorious in both state House of Representatives special elections, flipping one seat from red to blue.

“While we have plenty of work to do, New Hampshire Democrats have a lot to celebrate,” said longtime state party Chairman Ray Buckley.

We’re Sick of Being Shamed for Supporting America

Patriotic Americans are really getting sick and tired of being shamed for loving our country.

If you think I’m wrong … look no further than the NFL. Ratings are in the toilet. Stadiums are empty. Owners are melting down.

But it’s not just football. It’s everything.

Good luck trying to watch television without having an anti-Trump agenda shoved down your throat. Storylines have been adjusted to advance the “poor illegal immigrants” and “all Trump supporters are Nazis” and “police are all racist” narratives.

Uh oh – the wind blew down my “Vote Democrat” sign. Someone call the cops!

Social media is fun. God forbid you make the mistake of sharing ANYTHING that’s patriotic. The American flag is a sign of oppression.

Someone pay for my degree in basket weaving so I can drink all day instead of going to class. Bernie Sanders said that’s the American dream!

Articles in support of cops means you conspire to hurt innocent Americans. Did you say CHRISTMAS? You must hate Muslims and Jews.

GQ: Blue Lives Don’t Matter

GQ Magazine, in a desperate attempt to remain relevant, has decided to go all in on the anti-police movement largely embraced by the NFL. They decided to name Colin Kaepernick as Citizen of the Year.

You’d think they would have taken note of the empty stadiums and ratings in the toilet when it comes to football. But no.

I have to imagine their latest public relations move was the recommendation of a liberal college student who dropped out after 11 years bouncing back and forth between gender studies and hangovers.

That’s right, America – the football player who can’t even get a job because he:

A) Sucks at football

B) Disrespects our police and our veterans

C) Hates America

… has been chosen as the citizen of the year.

The story is called “Colin Kaepernick Will Not Be Silenced.” That’s fair, because all this race-baiting, anti-American bum has been doing for the past year is whining that nobody wants to hire him.

Argentina’s Navy Detects Noises at Sea That Could Be From Missing Submarine

The Argentinian navy on Monday detected noises that officials believe could be from Argentina's missing submarine, the ARA San Juan.

The San Juan, which has a crew of 44, was last heard heard from on Wednesday before it went missing in the Atlantic Ocean.

A senior U.S. Navy official familiar with the service's assistance in the search for the submarine told CNN that the sonar systems of two ships picked up noises that sounded like tools being banged against the hull of a submarine.

Eight women say Charlie Rose sexually harassed them

Eight women have told The Washington Post that longtime television host Charlie Rose made unwanted sexual advances toward them, including lewd phone calls, walking around naked in their presence, or groping their breasts, buttocks or genital areas.

The women were employees or aspired to work for Rose at the “Charlie Rose” show from the late 1990s to as recently as 2011. They ranged in age from 21 to 37 at the time of the alleged encounters. Rose, 75, whose show airs on PBS, also co-hosts “CBS This Morning” and is a contributing correspondent for “60 Minutes.”

There are striking commonalities in the accounts of the women, each of whom described their interactions with Rose in multiple interviews with The Post.

Don’t Worry, New Hampshire Women, Bill Clinton’s Got Your Back on This One

Pity the poor Democrats. Bill Clinton a problematic figure. Who knew?

New Hampshire Democrats are under fire over their annual fund raiser, which they currently call the Kennedy-Clinton Dinner.

Why is that a problem?

It’s not clear. Democrats are the party of women. And Bill Clinton is all about women, too.

There must be some sort of misunderstanding.

It’s an ancient tradition, this Kennedy-Clinton Dinner. Goes all the way back to 2016. (Is anybody reading this old enough to remember 2016?) That year, it was held in late October (or so the chronicles say), just 10 days before Hillary Rodham won her great victory and became president of the United States.

She did, didn’t she? My 2016 history is a little rusty.

Now, for you antiquarians, long before 2016 the Kennedy-Clinton Dinner had another name. As in many other states, the New Hampshire Democratic Party used to call its annual fund raiser the Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner, after the two presidents that Democrats consider their founders.

They would be Thomas Jefferson, the slaveholder, and Andrew Jackson, the slaveholder and oppressor of Elizabeth Warren’s non-ancestors.

Washington Post: ‘Defiant’ Alabama Voters Are Sticking With Moore Photo of Alex Pfeiffer ALEX PFEIFFER

Alabama Republican leaders are sticking by Senate candidate Roy Moore despite national pressure to ditch him.

The Washington Post reported Saturday that attacks on Moore from Republicans like Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and the media are just motivating many to double down in their support of the embattled Senate candidate.

“Alabamians will be the ultimate jury in this election, not the media or those from afar,” said Terry Lathan, the GOP state chairwoman.

A Fox News poll released Thursday showed Democratic candidate Doug Jones ahead with 50 percent and Moore at 42 percent. However, CNN’s Jake Tapper noted that voters aren’t “inclined to be completely forthright with pollsters” when a candidate has been accused of sexual misconduct with minors.

Attendance At Baltimore City Schools Crashes To 13 Year Low Just As Juvenile Crime Spikes

Project Baltimore, an investigative reporting series conducted by a local Fox affiliate in Baltimore City, has sifted through over a decade of high school records and discovered that attendance at city high schools in 2017 suddenly dropped to a 13-year low of just 76%. Just to state the obvious, the average high school in Maryland has around 1,200 students so that means that, on an average day, nearly 300 of them don't bother to show up.

Adding insult to injury, Baltimore City Police Spokesman T.J. Smith told Fox 45 that it's no coincidence that violent crime is spiking in the city just as more and more teenagers are opting to skip class.

From violent attacks on Halloween night, to a terrifying carjacking and a man pushed into the Inner Harbor. Baltimore City is under siege by criminals that, police say, are teenagers.

“Every single one of them involve juveniles, who are all walking the streets today because they are probably not in school, where they belong.”

GOP Leaders Who Threw Moore to the Wolves Stay Silent on Dem Franken

Eminent Republicans like 2012 Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney and National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman Corey Gardner lined up to condemn Judge Roy Moore. Very few are doing the same to Democratic Sen. Al Franken.

Judge Moore, never a favorite among national Republicans, nonetheless appeared to have made a quiet truce with establishment leaders after roundly defeating their preferred Senate nominee, Luther Strange, in the September primary. All that came apart with the advent of sexual misconduct allegations against Moore, despite his consistent and emphatic denials and the lack of any conclusive evidence for any of the accusers’ stories.

Franken, by contrast, has, at least publicly, been a consistent political foe of virtually the entire Republican Party. He has, for example, been one of the leading voices passing the “Russia Story” election collusion narrative and has badgered populist Senator-cum-Attorney General Jeff Sessions for months on his accounts of brief meetings with Russian functionaries in an effort to discredit him. Members of the GOP establishment, however, have been much slower to declare Franken persona non grata in the wake a photograph showing him miming an indecent grab of sleeping then-model Leeann Tweedy on a 2006 USO tour of Afghanistan.

County Executive Announces Wicomico County's Credit Ratings

County Executive Bob Culver announced today that the three major credit rating agencies have affirmed Wicomico County's strong credit ratings,

Moody's affirmed its Aa2 rating and commented: ""The Aa2 rating is based on the county's strong financial operating history leading to an ample reserve position, strong management with conservative budgeting practices, a sizeable tax base with average demographics, and manageable debt and pension burdens."

Standard & Poor's continued its AA+/Stable rating citing: "The rating reflects our opinion of the following factors for the county: Adequate economy, with access to a broad and diverse metropolitan statistical area (MSA); very strong management, with strong financial policies and practices under our Financial Management Assessment (FMA) methodology; strong budgetary performance, with operating surpluses in the general fund and at the total governmental fund level in fiscal 2016; very strong budgetary flexibility, with an available fund balance in fiscal 2016 of 43% of operating expenditures."

Fitch maintained its AA/Stable rating and commented: "The 'AA' IDR reflects the county's sound level of expenditure flexibility, expectations for limited revenue growth over the near term, low long-term liability burden and exceptionally strong gap-closing capacity."

Wicomico County's 2017 bond sale will take place on Tuesday, December 12th, 2017 with closing on the transactions scheduled for December 28, 2017. Wicomico County's bond issue includes $10,000,000 in new borrowing for School, General Service, and Public Safety and Roads Department projects. Subject to market conditions, the County may also refund approximately $11,395,000 of outstanding series 2009 Build America Beautiful Bonds in order to realize debt service savings.

County Executive Bob Culver commented "I am very pleased the rating agencies have confirmed that the County is going in the right direction. My Administration will continue doing the right things to continue positive, strong credit ratings."

MS-13 terrorizing American small towns and suburbs

Fairfax County is a wealthy suburb in Virginia dotted with McMansions, upscale shopping malls and quiet cul-de-sacs.

But it is dealing with an issue not typically seen in the suburbs – a vicious gang infiltrating its schools and neighborhoods.

At least two teenagers were savagely killed. The culprit, some believe: MS-13 gang members.

Away from urban areas that have seen a rise in gang-related activity, MS-13’s brutality is turning up in small towns and communities across the country – places not always equipped or ready to deal with the growing and alarming threat.

In the last year or so, police say, the gang known for its execution-style shootings and machete-hacking deaths has cropped up in a tiny Colorado town, two Virginia suburbs and Annapolis, Md. In parts of Long Island, N.Y. MS-13 is terrorizing once-sleepy neighborhoods that are now experiencing a scourge of violent deaths.

The worst is being felt in suburban areas that lack the resources and money to fight back against an international and well-funded organization known for its extreme brutality.

“When it comes to smaller departments and less populated areas, those areas generally have less resources, so it becomes much more important to approach [the problem] from a task force or inter-agency model,” Patrick J. Lechleitner, special agent in charge of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s homeland security investigations in Washington, D.C., told Fox News.

Mitt Romney‏ @MittRomney

Innocent until proven guilty is for criminal convictions, not elections. I believe Leigh Corfman. Her account is too serious to ignore. Moore is unfit for office and should step aside.

***************************************************************

Only hours passed between the publication of the Washington Post piece, in which Leigh Corfman accused Moore of attempting to have her touch him in a sexual manner when she was 14, and Romney’s twitter condemnation. After almost the same amount of time passed, Breitbart News reached out to Romney’s staff about whether he considered the Democrat Franken similarly unfit.

Breitbart News received no reply, and Romney has yet to weigh in publicly about the Franken scandal.

Sen. Corey Gardner (R-CO) is chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, the first central Republican organ to withdraw support from Moore in his general election struggle, just one day after the Post story broke. Gardner himself has been even more emphatic than Romney, telling the press that, even if the voters of Alabama choose Judge Moore to represent them, the Republican-controlled Senate should join with Democrats to expel him “because he does not meet the ethical and moral requirements of the United States Senate.”

House wants to cut presidential pensions, citing six-figure speaking fees and massive book deals

The House backed a bill on Monday to reduce the government pension of former presidents and capping how much they can bill taxpayers for office expenses and staff. The measure passed by voice vote.

Former presidents get lucrative book deals and high-paid speaking gigs, so there’s no need for taxpayers to support them to the degree that the federal government has done in the past, according to the argument.
Rep. Jody Hice, R-Ga., the bill’s sponsor, says the lifestyle of former presidents means taxpayers can pay less. He said that President Bill Clinton earned more than $100 million in speaking fees as well as $15 million from a book deal after leaving office while President George W. Bush received $10 million for a book deal.

Secretive Liberal Donor Summit Increases Security, Changes Itinerary Following Free Beacon Report

Members of the Democracy Alliance, a secretive dark money liberal donor network, appear to have moved to increase security presence and alter its schedule at its fall donor summit following a Washington Free Beacon report released Friday morning based off the group's internal documents.

The high-dollar progressive donors, who each vow to direct at least $200,000 in funding to approved left-wing groups of the alliance, are currently gathered at the posh La Costa Resort located in Carlsbad, Calif., for its three-day fall investment conference to plot their 2018 "resistance" and game plan.

The Free Beacon, who appears to be the only members of the media on site covering the conference, has obtained internal documents meant only for attendees that detail the conference's agenda and those who are currently at the gathering. Janell Ross, a Washington Post reporter, is allegedly at the summit, but is listed as being on a "getting the economic narrative right" panel at the conference.

African leaders furious that they won’t get a climate change bonanza

African leaders were furious at last year’s climate change conference because Donald Trump had unexpectedly won the US presidential election and said that he would pull out of the climate change agreement. Even so, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon urged a rapid scale-up in funding for climate change programs, especially to support developing countries. “Finance and investment hold the key to achieving low-emissions and resilient societies,” he said.

So now it is a year later, and there’s another climate change conference, and African leaders are furious agai because there were plenty of promises made this week, but no commitments.

Africans claim that they are entitled to money because they are the victims of climate change. That is, the West has caused the climate change, and the Africans are suffering because of it.

Gymnast Suggests Women Should ‘Dress Modestly’, Gets Ripped on Social Media

After a society loses its morality and common sense, the most controversial thing anyone can say is the truth. Gabby Douglas is finding that out right now.

On Friday evening the U.S. Olympian and gold medalist drew tremendous criticism from her former teammates, and the media, for her response to a tweet from fellow Team USA member Aly Raisman. Raisman, who recently appeared on 60 Minutes to talk about the abuse she faced at the hands of former Team USA Gymnastics Dr. Larry Nasser, posted a tweet in which she attempted to rally women who had been the victim of sexual abuse, while also saying that women should be able to wear what they want without fear of unwanted sexual advances.

After seeing Raisman’s tweet, fellow Olympian Gabby Douglas weighed-in with her own thoughts.

Douglas said, “however [sic] it is our responsibility as women to dress modestly and be classy. dressing [sic] in a provocative/sexual way entices the wrong crowd.”

That response did not sit well with fellow Team USA member Simone Biles, who tweeted:

Inside chilling religion creating ‘God robot’ a billion times smarter than humans

Anthony Levandowski has created the Way of the Future, a religion based around super powered AI.

The tech boffin is looking for followers of the new religion to help him build super intelligence into a bot, which they will then worship.

When asked about how powerful his “god” would be, Levandowski was not shy in talking up its intelligence.

He said: “What is going to be created will effectively be a god.

“It’s not a god in the sense that it makes lighting or causes hurricanes.

“But if there is something a billion times smarter than the smartest human, what else are you going to call it?”

His new church, The Way of the Future outlaws supernatural powers, claiming everything can be solved through science.

They also believe that machines, just like animals, have rights and the right to become “super intelligent”.

Moore: Gloria Allred’s Refusal to Release Yearbook Proves Allegations Are ‘Completely Untrue'

Attorney and activist Gloria Allred’s repeated refusal to immediately release to the custody of an independent examiner the original copy of a yearbook at the center of national controversy proves that “what they have alleged is completely untrue,” senatorial candidate Roy Moore stated in an interview.

Moore specifically pointed to the initials “D.A.” that appear after the signature on the yearbook to further demonstrate that the yearbook inscription and signature represent what he described as a forgery and “complete fabrication.”

Peter Thiel Not Alone in Opposing Google’s Monopoly

Libertarian Internet pioneer Peter Thiel is not the only one concerned about the danger to freedom from tech monopolies like Google.

Critics of Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley’s new investigation of the potential restraint of trade from Google’s monopolistic 85 percent market share of Internet search are trying to blame Silicon Valley’s Peter Thiel’s political donations as the motivation for the potential break-up of Google.

Thiel did donate $100,000 in 2015 and $200,000 in 2016 to Hawley’s successful campaign for Missouri Attorney General. He is believed to be supporting Republican Hawley in his campaign for the U.S. Senate, and he also called Google a monopoly during his backing of Hulk Hogan’s successful lawsuit against the now bankrupt and liquidated Gawker.

But rather than being a Republican political pol wanting to get even for Google’s blatant political backing of Hillary Clinton, Thiel argued in a 2009 essay that he had founded PayPal as a pragmatic libertarian interested in “the creation of a new world currency, free from all government control and dilution — the end of monetary sovereignty, as it were.”

Bird-brained atheists sue shelter over 'blessing of the animals'

A bunch of bird-brained atheists are suing a New Jersey animal shelter for holding a blessing of the animals.

American Atheists filed the lawsuit in federal court against the Bergen County Animal Shelter – claiming the law was broken when a Franciscan bishop conducted a “blessing of the animals” ceremony.

According to the lawsuit, Candice Yaacobi dropped by the shelter in search of a Chihuahua. Instead, she stumbled upon the animal blessing ceremony and the bishop dressed “in full religious vestments.”

They claim the animal shelter violated the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment by forcing a religious viewpoint on people like their client.

The atheists may not be aware, but many Protestant denominations host animal blessing ceremonies, too – from pot-bellied pigs to exotic birds.

My denomination, Southern Baptists, normally bless our animals after they’re slathered in barbecue sauce.

Adams was working in Moore’s law office during the period that a new accuser claims that he groped her in the same office in 1991 after a meeting. Her desk was right outside his office door at the time.

“I think he is a good man,” Adams told Breitbart News in an interview. “I don’t believe any of this. I don’t believe it until somebody actually proves it to me. But I never saw anything like that out of him.”

Asked whether she saw or experienced any inappropriate conduct on the part of Moore at any time, Adams replied, “No. None.”

Governor Larry Hogan, Community Celebrate Completion of MD 404 Expansion on Maryland’s Eastern Shore

11.3 Miles of Divided Highway between US 50 and the Denton Bypass

ANNAPOLIS, MD –
Governor Larry Hogan was today joined by area residents, local business leaders, and officials to celebrate the long-awaited improvement of one of the Eastern Shore’s primary corridors – MD 404. The event included a ribbon cutting followed by the first cars driving on the much-anticipated new lanes. Under the Hogan administration’s landmark investment of an additional $2 billion in roads and bridges announced in June 2015, this $158 million project completed the upgrade of MD 404 from two lanes to a four-lane divided highway from US 50 to the Denton Bypass.

“For decades, improvements to this vital corridor were slow to move forward, and our administration heard your calls loud and clear,” said Governor Hogan. “With the completion of the MD 404 upgrade, our administration is proud to deliver on the number one priority for Queen Anne’s, Talbot, and Caroline counties – complete and a year and a half ahead of schedule.”

The 11.3 miles of the dualized MD 404 provide a direct route between US 50 and the Town of Denton. The project improved safety with a median that separates the eastbound and westbound sides, as well as four travel lanes instead of two. This project is a critical link – along with projects such as the Dover Bridge replacement, the Salisbury Bypass replacement, and US 113 widening – that connect residents to the Eastern Shore safely.

“This new and improved road is part of our system of systems to connect Marylanders safely to life’s opportunities,” said Transportation Secretary Pete Rahn.

Black Apple executive who apologized for white diversity remarks is stepping down

Apple has announced the resignation of its vice president of diversity and inclusion just one month after she apologized for saying white people can be diverse.

Denise Young Smith, who is black, angered activists during this year’s One Young World Summit in Bogota when she defended the diverse “life experience” that Apple’s white employees bring to the table. The executive apologized within days, but the company now says she will head to Cornell Tech at the end of the year.

“I focus on everyone,” Ms. Smith, who has 20 years of experience in the company, said during the Oct. 4-7 conference. “Diversity is the human experience. I get a little bit frustrated when diversity or the term diversity is tagged to the people of color or the women or the LGBT or whatever because that means they’re carrying that around … because that means that we are carrying that around on our foreheads. […] There can be 12 white blue-eyed blond men in a room and they are going to be diverse too because they’re going to bring a different life experience and life perspective to the conversation.”

Democrats ready recount efforts in Virginia House of Delegates races

Democrats in the Commonwealth of Virginia are preparing to request recounts in at least three House of Delegates contests where Republican candidates won by razor-thin margins, potentially putting a new party in control of the state’s GOP-run legislature.

The Virginia State Board of Election is slated to certify the results of this month’s House races on Monday, November 20, including three where Republicans won by a margin of less than 0.5 percent, WTOP reported Saturday.

The races include contests in the 28th, 40th and 94th Districts where Republicans won by a thin margin of votes during the Nov. 7 election, according to preliminary results.

Former NFL susperstar Herschel Walker - who aggressively praised America’s military heroes and first responders - slams NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for not quelling the national anthem protests.

NYPost's John Aidan Byrne reports that the Heisman Trophy winner doesn’t beat around the bush:

“Guys, let me tell you this,” he said.

“Our flag is very special, and black lives matter, but what we should do is go to Washington after the season and protest there instead. We have young men and women fighting for the flag. And we have to respect the White House.”

Donations to Clinton Foundation plunged along with Hillary’s election defeat

Donations to the Clinton Foundation took a precipitous dive for a second year in a row as Justice Department officials mulled whether they would appoint a special prosecutor to probe the non-profit’s “alleged unlawful dealings.”

Contributions to the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation fell by 42 percent, from $108 million to $63 million in 2016 — the year that Hillary Clinton lost her bid for president — according to the group’s latest federal tax filings which were released last week.

Donations had already plummeted 37 percent in 2015, when the non-profit was in disarray amid pay-to-play allegations and following the resignation of one of its key executives.

Last week, in a letter to the House Judiciary Committee, the Justice Department said that it may appoint prosecutors to examine allegations that millions in donations to the Clinton Foundation were tied to an Obama Administration uranium deal.

As Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton greenlighted the Russian purchase of Uranium One, a Canadian company with uranium assets in the US, at a time when many of the company’s owners had given a combined total of $145 million to the Clinton family charity.

Law makes it illegal to leave pets outside in freezing temps for too long

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (WKRC) - A new law in Pennsylvania that aims to protect dogs during cold weather could put owners behind bars, according to a report by WHTM.

The bill states that you could end up in jail or paying fines if you leave your dog outside in freezing temperatures without adequate shelter for more than 30 minutes.

Penalties could include fines ranging from $50-$750 and 90 days in jail for a summary offense. For a third-degree felony, owners could receive up to a $15,000 fine and seven years in prison.

“Your doghouse that you have should keep them dry. If it rains and that freezes, that’s awful. Please make sure that they can get out of the elements and they can get into the dog house and not actually be rained on. Have it raised off the ground if you can,” said Jennifer Vanderau, communications director for the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter.

Locals have been instructed to contact the county humane officer if they see a dog left outside in the cold.

Rick & Pat's Annual Chili Cook Off In Pittsville

Every year I head off to Pittsville this time of year at 5 AM to help Rick & Pat start the fire and load all of the items necessary to create this incredible chili. Just to give you an idea of what it takes to make this massive meal, they put 80 pounds of ground beef alone into this pot. Once everything is cooked they start bagging up the chili for whomever comes to take home with them. Great people and a great time had by all.

Girl Scouts urge parents not to make kids hug relatives on holidays

(WFLA) —In light of recent widespread allegations of sexual abuse, the Girl Scouts of America is stressing the importance of setting boundaries.

In a post entitled “Reminder: She Doesn’t Owe Anyone a Hug. Not Even at the Holidays,” the organization addresses the issue of consent head-on, telling parents why they shouldn’t insist their child show physical affection to a family or a friend.

“Have you ever insisted, ‘Uncle just got here—go give him a big hug!’ or ‘Auntie gave you that nice toy, go give her a kiss,’ when you were worried your child might not offer affection on her own? If yes, you might want to reconsider the urge to do that in the future,” the PSA on the Girl Scouts website reads. “Telling your child that she owes someone a hug either just because she hasn’t seen this person in a while or because they gave her a gift can set the stage for her questioning whether she ‘owes’ another person any type of physical affection when they’ve bought her dinner or done something else seemingly nice for her later in life.”

Report: Skyrocketing Medicaid Enrollment Leading to Increased Government Dependency

Number of able-bodied adults on Medicaid has increased four-fold since 2000, only 16 percent of Medicaid enrollees work

A massive surge in Medicaid enrollment is leading to an increase in government dependency and crowding out funding for those vulnerable individuals who truly need the program, according to a report from the Foundation for Government Accountability.

In 2000, there were 34 million Americans enrolled in the Medicaid program. Next year that number is projected to more than double to 75 million. Most of the growth in this program is due to an increasing number of able-bodied adults applying for the program. In 2000, there were fewer than 7 million able-bodied adults on Medicaid. Now that number has quadrupled to 28 million able-bodied adults on the program.

The report attributes skyrocketing Medicaid enrollment over the last two decades to states increasing eligibility for able-bodied adults and Obamacare's Medicaid expansion, which added millions of able-bodied adults to the program.

Cult leader Charles Manson, 83, has died

LOS ANGELES — Convicted mass murderer Charles Manson, born Charles Milles Maddox, has died. He was 83.

According a release from the California Department of Corrections, Manson died of natural causes at 8:13 p.m. Sunday.

Manson was brought to a Bakersfield hospital last week, TMZ.com said.

Michele Hanisee, president of the Association of Deputy District Attorneys, reacted to the death by quoting the late Vincent Bugliosi, the Los Angeles prosecutor who put Manson behind bars. Bugliosi said: “Manson was an evil, sophisticated con man with twisted and warped moral values.”

“Today, Manson’s victims are the ones who should be remembered and mourned on the occasion of his death,” Hanisee said.

California Corrections spokeswoman Vicky Waters said it’s “to be determined” what happens to Manson’s body. Prison officials previously said Manson had no known next of kin and state law says that if no relative or legal representative surfaces within 10 days, then it’s up to the department to determine whether the body is cremated or buried.

Laugh or Cry

You, who worry about Democrats versus Republicans --relax, here is our real problem.

In a Purdue University classroom recently, they were discussing the qualifications to be President of the United States .

It was pretty simple. The candidate must be a natural born citizen of at least 35 years of age

However, one girl in the class immediately started in on how unfair was the requirement to be a natural born citizen. In short, her opinion was that this requirement prevented many capable individuals from becoming president.

The class was taking it in and letting her rant, and not many jaws hit the floor when she wrapped up her argument by stating, "What makes a natural born citizen any more qualified to lead this country than one born by C-section?"

Yep, these are the same kinds of 18-year-olds that are now voting in our elections! They breed, and they walk among us...

Lord -- we need more help than we thought we did!

No wonder half of graduating college students can't find a job!
