What is the My Turn to Cook? I see a lot of expenditures on this item.
I just received my child's back to school packet from parkside - The back to school night menu is a hotdog, bag of chips, and a soda FOR $4.00, a hamburger, bag of chips, and a soda FOR $5.00. Why should Parkside parents have to PAY - whenit looks like MANY MANY other SCHOOLS get FREE FOOD FOR PTA!!!!!
I say it time and again, what an abuse yet nothing is ever done about it? Why?????
Is there additional information on these expenditures? I would like to know what they were buying and what the taxpayers thought the money was intended for. With the graduation and college success rate of public schools in Wicomico, every penny should be going to classrooms for educational success.
That's the PTA selling the food to raise money for the PTA so the money can be spent on your child. The school system should not spend any money on food. People need to buy their own food. When us teachers meet Thursday I will have to get my own coffee and breakfast. I saw in previous post where $800 was spent in two days on board meeting. Pathetic.
Everyone, type in My Turn to Cook on Google, and what comes up? Catering!
Catering for board meetings. They need to buy their own food. All the money spent there is rediculous. I as a teacher must buy my own classroom supplies and many other teaching supplies. I also have to buy my own food. Shame on the board.
Yes, SHAME !
To the teachers who complain about buying there own supplies don't do it. I know that every teacher gets a certain amount of money each year for supplies. Our school has it own supplies in the office. If you are spending your own money stop complaining about it. Complain to the board that you don't have the supplies to teach your subject. Maybe less pizza purchases to get the parents to meetings and more to teach them. If you have to pay a parent to come to the school they will never be engaged in there child education.
$50 at Sobo's could be a lunch, any day of the week. Couple drinks you got $50 easily.
You people are spoiled. OC transportation is too cheap to pay even for a cup of coffee when they call their employees in for a meeting.
why, why, why are they allowed to spend money like this? I notice this list dates back to 2012, but I've been reading these reports since you started "sharing" them with us.
is it possible to STOP this?
Plus 1 - a large amount of money being spent on an assault vehicle by the sheriff. You can buy a lot of Subway with what it will take to just fuel that unnecessary tank they just bought.
Gotta say it! 9:35 and 9:46, if you are indeed teachers, you need to go to remedial spelling and grammar classes.
Ricks idea of transparency in government sure is different than mine!! Does anyone else agree??? What's he trying to hide??
You know all this food going make you fat!
Hey show up at a BOE or county council meeting and ask why.
If the person listed works at the central office, it is probably not money collected by a club or PTA or faculty for some event and then paid through WCBOE accounts. Stop the food for local events and limit it to the specified stipend for away meetings and conferences.
6:56, seriously, do what he said.
