1000s Of Mail-In Ballots Once Deemed Invalid Now Ordered To Be Counted In NYC

A multitude of ballots intended for the New York June 23 election were deemed invalid due to not having postmarks or arriving at offices after the election — a federal judge ordered Monday these thousands of rule-breaking ballots must be counted.

Manhattan Judge Analisa Torres deemed the plaintiffs in the suit had proven that the late votes submitted or un-postmarked ballots had been disenfranchised.

As reported by the New York Post, thousands of the once-disqualified ballots had pre-paid postage yet were never postmarked, which election law then deems invalid.

Many of the votes had arrived after the deadline, as well.

“When voters have been provided with absentee ballots and assured that their votes on those ballots will be counted, the state cannot ignore a later discovered, systemic problem that arbitrarily renders those ballots invalid,” Torres wrote in her ruling that essentially throws election laws out the window in favor of chaotic, count-anything policies.

Michelle Obama: Coronavirus an Opportunity to Change ‘How Wealth Is Distributed’

Wednesday on her new podcast, former first lady Michelle Obama called coronavirus an opportunity to think about “how wealth is distributed” to lower-income essential workers.

Obama noted the “power” that would enable what “we” could do to allow such actions.

Journalist Michele Norris said, “There’s kind of a new COVID vocabulary, isn’t it. There are also words that have always had some meaning, but that take on different meaning now, the word hero, the word essential.”

She continued, “I think we will forever think about the word ‘essential’ in a different way. And, when we were told to stay home, they got up, got dressed, and went out into the world, risking their lives, to drive garbage trucks, to work in warehouses, to work in grocery stores, to work in hospitals. Often doing invisible, but yes, essential work, and I struggle with it because I’m not sure that we treat them like they’re essential.”

Obama replied, “And that’s something that we need to, that’s a part of that reflection, that we need to do, you know. With ourselves, and, and as a community. And we have to think about that, in terms of how wealth is distributed. You know, how, how these essential people are supported. And what does that mean? A lot of these people are broke. They don’t have health insurance. That it, if they were to get sick, as essential as they are, we have not, as a society, deemed it essential to make sure that they can go to the doctor and get the care that they need. And even if they can get COVID care, even if they can get tested, to keep working and doing our stuff, after the effects of the virus have worn off, and they are dealing with some lung issue, or some breathing issue, or asthma, that they don’t have to wait, in a, an emergency room, for hours on end, and then worry, that they can even, afford the prescription medication that they need to survive, I mean we have to think about this. We have to think about the people who are not from this country, who are essential workers. A lot of those folks are still out in the fields picking our corn, and making sure that that food is in our grocery stores, and working in these meatpacking plants, to ensure that the, that the cow that was slaughtered, gets into our bellies.”

Biden: Illegal Immigrants Who Work ‘Should Have Access’ to Subsidized Health Care

During an interview at the 2020 National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) Joint Virtual Convention released on Wednesday, 2020 Democratic presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden stated that illegal immigrants who are working in America and paying taxes, “should have access to health care. They should have access to what everybody else has access to.”

NPR host Lulu Garcia-Navarro asked, “In your platform, you’d extend medical benefits to DACA recipients, but what about the workers who have no protection, specifically farm workers now deemed essential to make Americans sure that they have food on their table, should undocumented immigrants also be able to get subsidized health care?”

"This mobile application may also be used for disinformation campaigns that benefit the Chinese Communist Party," Trump said in the order, released Thursday by the White House and seen by Bloomberg.

"Most Sophisticated" smuggling Tunnel ever found at US-Mexico Border

An unfinished cross-border smuggling tunnel has been discovered at the US-Mexico border at San Luis, Arizona, and authorities are describing the structure as the longest ever to be discovered at the southern border.

Graphics of the passageway reveal its length. The tunnel extends 1,300 feet from San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexico, to San Luis, Arizona. Its terminus is located just yards away from a residential neighborhood on the American side of the border, although it’s likely the unfinished tunnel was meant to conclude within a residence controlled by smugglers within the United States.

Worcester, Ocean City pursue employees from Puerto Rico

Employees from Puerto Rico may come to Ocean City to fill the employment gap created by the covid-19 pandemic.

The Ocean City Chamber of Commerce, Worcester County Economic Development and Tourism and the Ocean City Hotel-Motel-Restaurant Association are pursuing options with the National Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce to address the shortage of workers in the resort.

The departments are presenting businesses with two solutions – either to campaign with the National Puerto Rican Chamber or to recruit workers through a firm focused on Puerto Rican workers.

The shortage is primarily due to people staying home during the covid-19 pandemic and the temporary ban on work visas, which eliminated the chance for about 4,000 J-1 students to work in Ocean City this summer.

The Post reported:

The city BOE received 403,213 mail-in ballots for the June 23 Democratic presidential primary.

California Releasing Almost 18,000 Inmates — Including Convicted Murderer — in Virus Prison Break

California prison officials said almost 18,000 inmates in state prisons are being released because of the coronavirus — an increase of 70 percent from earlier release estimates.

And details are surfacing about who these prisoners are, including a report issued by KTLA in Los Angeles:

Among those released last week was Terebea Williams, who served 19 years of an 84 years-to-life sentence for first-degree murder, carjacking and kidnapping.

She was deemed at high medical risk for the virus, though officials couldn’t say what put her in that category.

The Associated Press reported on concerns from police, probation officers, and others involved in the re-entry of prisoners into society that it could include “dangerous criminals who should stay locked up.”

The AP spoke to the sister of the man Williams killed.

“Why is an inmate’s rights more important than a victim’s?” Dena Love said to AP.

Joe Biden’s mental ability is a campaign issue that can’t be ignored: Devine

He might be riding high in the polls, but Joe Biden’s mental acuity increasingly is an issue in the election campaign, and growling at reporters who ask about it is no way to alleviate voter concerns.

Asked during an event with the National Associations of Black and Hispanic Journalists if he had “taken a cognitive test,” Biden snapped.

“No, I haven’t taken a test! Why the hell would I take a test? C’mon, man!”

Frowning and irritated, he paused before ripping into the reporter, Errol Barnett of CBS News.

“That’s like saying you, before you got on this program, if you take a test where you’re taking cocaine or not, what do you think? Huh? Are you a junkie?” said Biden in an interview to be streamed Thursday.

That Creepy Old Weirdo In The Basement Will Never Debate Trump

There are a few safe bets in life – the sun will rise in the East, the mainstream media will tongue-bathe the Dems, the Never Trump sissies of the Ahoy crew will die alone, forgotten, and unloved – but there is no safer bet than on Joe Biden not taking the debate stage with Donald Trump.

If he does debate Trump, Grandpa Badfinger is toast. And if he doesn’t debate Trump, Grandpa Badfinger is also toast. Either way, that post-moderate muppet is a breakfast entrĂ©e. Dodging the debate is merely his least bad choice, sort of like going with chlamydia over syphilis.

The media and the Biden campaign are doing everything they can to avoid the moment where the public consensus coalesces around Biden’s obsolescence. You know how that goes. One day, a politician is defined by his positions. The next day, there’s a moment in time when a new perception gets locked in stone, where the mere mention of his name gets people nodding and a single word seems to define him forever. With Biden, the word will be “senile,” just like with Bill Clinton the word is “humidor.”

Farmageddon Continues As Bankruptcies Rise 8%

The American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) released a new report Tuesday (Aug. 4) showing farm bankruptcies continue to increase.

AFBF found bankruptcies rose 8% over the last 12 months (from June 2019 to June 2020), with 580 filings. The Midwest, Northwest, and Southeast recorded the most bankruptcies, representing 80% of all filings across the US. Wisconsin was the epicenter for filings, followed by Nebraska, Georgia, and Minnesota.

Filings slowed in 1H20 partly because of financial assistance provided by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief & Economic Security (CARES) Act, including direct payments to farmers via the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP), along with Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans.

Farmers are on government life-support.

AFBF's President Zippy Duvall said the new rounds of farm aid helped cushion farmers from the economic impact of the virus-induced recession.

AFBF's Chief Economist John Newton said CARES Act assistance was only a "bandage," warning filings could increase if aid programs are not continued.

AFBF said, "approximately 60% of farm bankruptcies have been completed successfully – the highest successful percentage of all the reorganization chapters."

Even before the virus pandemic, a global farm glut pressured agricultural prices. Farm incomes imploded, and bankruptcies began to increase in 2016. President Trump then unleashed a trade war against China, which in itself forced Chinese buyers toabandon US markets for South American ones.

Karen Bass’s Campaign Gave Nearly $100K to Nonprofit She Co-Founded Which Paid Her $70K+ for ‘Consulting’

Rep. Karen Bass (D-CA) nearly doubled her income in 2010 from consulting fees she received from a nonprofit she co-founded, and Bass’s re-election campaign donated nearly $100,000 to that nonprofit between 2008 and 2011, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Bass, a vice presidential contender on Democratic presumptive nominee Joe Biden’s VP shortlist, co-founded a South Los Angeles-based nonprofit called the Community Coalition in 1990. Her community organizing with the Coalition laid the groundwork for her successful run for the California State Assembly in 2004, where she would eventually rise to the position of Speaker in 2008.

Appeals court condemns Obama DOJ's prosecution of Bundys

Throws out felony conspiracy and weapons charges against Nevada ranchers

Finding "flagrant misconduct" by Obama administration prosecutors, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has dismissed felony conspiracy and weapons charges against Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy and his sons and supporters.

The federal government was appealing the dismissal of the case by U.S. District Judge Gloria Navarro, who ruled in January 2018 that prosecutors improperly withheld evidence.

The Bundys have been in a dispute with the federal government for more than 25 years over cattle grazing rights for his cattle. The government alleged that Bundy, his sons and Montana militia leader Ryan Payne the leades of a massive conspiracy to assault law enforcement officers a few miles from the Bundy ranch.

DEEP STATE IS SCARED: Corrupt Leader of the Mueller Gang Andrew Weissmann Drafts Two Hit Pieces on AG Barr in One Day for Fake News Promotion

The New York Times released an op-ed yesterday by the most corrupt individual in US Deep State history, Andrew Weissmann:

Today, Wednesday, marks 90 days before the presidential election, a date in the calendar that is supposed to be of special note to the Justice Department. That’s because of two department guidelines, one a written policy that no action be influenced in any way by politics. Another, unwritten norm urges officials to defer publicly charging or taking any other overt investigative steps or disclosures that could affect a coming election.

Attorney General William Barr appears poised to trample on both. At least two developing investigations could be fodder for pre-election political machinations. The first is an apparentlysprawling investigation by John Durham, the U.S. attorney in Connecticut, that began as an examination of the origins of the F.B.I. investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election. The other, led by John Bash, the U.S. attorney for the Western District of Texas, is about the so-called unmasking of Trump associates by Obama administration officials. Mr. Barr personally unleashed both investigations and handpicked the attorneys to run them.

Donald Trump to Ohio Workers: Obama-Biden Were ‘Perfectly Happy to Let China Win’

President Donald Trump in Ohio Thursday criticized former President Barack Obama and former Vice President Joe Biden for abandoning American workers.

“American factory workers received nothing but broken promises and brazen sellouts and lost jobs. The last administration tied America up in one globalist debacle after another,” Trump said.

The president visited a Whirlpool plant in Ohio on Thursday to celebrate the 2018 tariff he leveled on imports of foreign washing machines, accusing other countries of “dumping” cheap appliances into the American market.

“Your cries for help fell on deaf ears. you didn’t see any action,” Trump recalled of the Obama administration. “They didn’t act, they didn’t care, and they never will.”

Rep. Harris Announces STEM Grant to UMES

WASHINGTON, DC: Rep. Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) announced the award of a $202,413 U.S. Department of Education grant to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne. The grant was awarded through the Minority Science and Engineering Improvement Program (MSEIP).

According to the Department, “the MSEIP program assists predominantly minority institutions in effecting long-range improvement in science and engineering education programs and increasing the flow of underrepresented ethnic minorities, particularly minority women, into science and engineering careers.”

Congressman Harris made the following statement:

“As a physician, I understand the need to bolster our efforts in getting more students interested in STEM career tracks. There are numerous jobs across our country that go unfilled in these fields simply due to the lack of available trained candidates. I thank the Administration for selecting UMES for this grant, as these dollars will be invested in our community for producing qualified job candidates for businesses right here on the lower Eastern Shore.”

Maryland Fishing Report

Small bluefish have entered the middle bay and can be found in a variety of ways.

At Deep Creek Lake, a mix of large yellow perch, walleye, and smallmouth bass can be found along deep grass edges by drifting minnows.

The Elk, Chester, Choptank, Nanticoke, and Patuxent rivers all hold increasing populations of blue catfish. Fresh cut bait is one of the best ways to catch them.

Now that the ocean has settled down, surf anglers are catching excellent numbers of kingfish on pieces of bloodworm.
