Maryland U.S. Attorney’s Office, Along with Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement Partners, Announces Strike Force to Combat Violence in Baltimore

U.S. Attorney Discusses Cases Already Charged as a Result of the Strike Force and Plans for the Future

Baltimore, Maryland – The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland, along with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners, today announced the Baltimore Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) Strike Force, a new initiative designed to combat violent crime in Baltimore. The mission of the Baltimore OCDETF Strike Force is to disrupt and dismantle the most violent gangs and drug trafficking organizations, and their financial infrastructure, in the Baltimore metropolitan area. While the Strike Force has been conducting investigations for more than a year now, the signing of the fiduciary agreement with the Baltimore County Government will now allow all Strike Force investigators to work in one shared location, which is a key part of the Strike Force concept that has proven successful in other cities.

Delaware Pipe Bomber Sentenced to 105 Months of Federal Prison

Department of Justice
U.S. Attorney's Office
District of Delaware

WILMINGTON, Del. – David C. Weiss, United States Attorney for the District of Delaware, announced that Mark Consiglio, 49, of Elsmere, Delaware was sentenced today in federal court in Delaware for his role in detonating a pipe bomb at a home in Elsmere, Delaware.

According to court documents and statements made in open court, Consiglio detonated a pipe bomb at his estranged wife’s residence in the early morning hours of March 12, 2018 before fleeing the scene. The pipe bomb was thrown at the living room window and bounced back after damaging the window. The pipe bomb then exploded in the front yard of the residence. Two occupants were home at the time of the pipe bomb explosion, one of whom was in the living room. Shrapnel from the explosion was found inside the living room.

After conducting a search warrant at Consiglio’s house, four more pipe bombs were recovered as well as a .38 caliber revolver; materials used to make a pipe bomb, including PVC, fuse wire, ball bearings, and gunpowder; a World War II-era flare launcher that had been modified to accept 9mm ammunition; and a book titled “CIA improvised sabotage devices” that was dog-eared to the page on “incendiary devices.” At the time he set off the pipe bomb, Consiglio was already facing state charges for threatening to kill his wife. The government’s court filings noted that Consiglio had a history of violence and threats of violence both toward his estranged wife and other members of the community.

Wilks, who has a past criminal record in Wisconsin, was also charged with drug offenses. His bail was set at $110,000.

Woman Drops 'Forcible Kiss' Trump Lawsuit After Furious Judge Views Cellphone Footage

A former Trump campaign aide has dropped a lawsuit against the president after cellphone footage revealed her claim to be baseless.

Alva Johnson made headlines when she claimed that then-candidate Donald Trump "forcibly kissed" her shortly before a campaign rally in Tampa, Florida in August 2016.

After Trump's attorneys released a video of the encounter, however, things went sideways for Johnson - when US District Court Judge William Jung dismissed the complaint, saying it amounted to a "political lawsuit," according to Politico.

When Will Big City Democrats Stop Enabling Illegal Immigration?

There is no clearer and more shameful example of betrayal in modern American politics than Big City Democrats who support foreigners over their own citizens.

“Democrat lawmakers care more about illegal aliens than they care about their own constituents,” President Trump said at his recent rally in Cincinnati, reiterating the point he made earlier when he criticized Democrat Representative Elijah Cummings for complaining about conditions at the border while ignoring the terrible plight of his own constituents in inner-city Baltimore.

Liberal media types will dismiss the President’s latest remark as “racism,” like always, but that only means that they’re either too obtuse or too blinded by partisan rage to recognize that Donald Trump is really just sounding the alarm about a crisis that has been allowed to fester for decades by Democrat public officials who are too busy chasing national headlines to pay attention to the problems in their own backyards.

VIDEO: Milk Thrown On Police, Officers Assaulted At Apartment Fire

Bronx, NY – Residents brawled with New York police outside the scene of an apartment building fire on Tuesday night, as the officers tried to keep the crowd back so firefighters could battle the flames.

The fire broke out inside an apartment kitchen on the top floor of the Grand Concourse complex at approximately 4:30 p.m., WNBC reported.

“We heard screaming, my mom opened the door and all you see was smoke and she said get out,” one resident told WCBS.

Over 100 firefighters were dispatched to the scene as tenants scrambled from their smoke-filled apartments and fled down fire escapes, WNBC reported.

Police responded to the scene to help clear a path through the crowds so the firefighters could get in and out of the building more quickly.

OC’s Letter To Governor To Restate Wind Farm Concerns

OCEAN CITY — Resort officials this week agreed to reiterate the town’s opposition to the proposed location of wind turbines off the coast of Ocean City, suggesting they be placed even further offshore than what was originally desired.

After months of relative inactivity in the ongoing development of offshore wind energy farms off the coast of Ocean City, the issue arose anew near the end of Tuesday’s Mayor and Council meeting with Councilman Tony DeLuca pushing for another letter to the governor outlining the town’s opposition to the proposed siting of the vast turbines just 17 miles offshore.

Since the Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC) in 2017 approved two offshore wind energy projects off the coast of Ocean City, town officials have been in a prolonged battle to have the two approved companies site their wind turbines as far as 26 nautical miles off the coast, or a distance believed to have the turbines not visible from the shoreline. After considerable debate, US Wind acquiesced somewhat and has since agreed to place its turbines no closer than 17 miles from the resort’s coast.

Customs and Border Protection moving to fire and discipline dozens of agents for Facebook posts

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has proposed firing and disciplining dozens of federal agents for posting vulgar comments and offensive memes on a private Facebook page that was exposed in July, according to a senior agency official.

As of Thursday, an internal review board had proposed terminating seven employees, but that figure could go up to 20 in the coming days, according to the official, who has firsthand knowledge of the recommendations.

The agency has proposed that 20 other agents who belonged to the famous “I’m 10-15” Facebook group, Border Patrol’s code for when an agent has taken an illegal crosser into custody, be disciplined, which could mean suspension, administrative duties, loss of vacation days, and other things. That figure could double to 40.

Watchdog files FOIA lawsuit against FBI over James Comey's 'spies' in the White House

A conservative watchdog group filed a Freedom of Information Lawsuit against the FBI seeking information about two bureau officials it accuses of being "spies" for former FBI Director James Comey in the White House.

The American Center for Law and Justice, headed by Trump attorney Jay Sekulow, announced on its website Wednesday that the FBI missed a deadline to respond to its July FOIA request and filed its lawsuit in Washington, D.C. The lawsuit seeks a wide array of records, including “all" of Comey’s emails from April 1, 2016, to May 31, 2017.

"If these Deep State agencies will not comply with the law until a federal court forces them to, then we’ll keep filing federal lawsuits and taking them to court," the group said in a statement.

The FBI declined to comment.

De Blasio blamed the 'right-wing movement' for NYC anti-Semitic attacks, but Jewish leaders are looking elsewhere for explanations

Months after a sudden surge of anti-Semitic hate crimes in New York City, Jewish community leaders are still struggling to identify a clear cause for the jump.

Anti-Semitic crimes more than doubled from 36 to 80 incidents between the third and fourth quarters of 2018, and the number of incidents remained high through the first six months of 2019.

The motivations for the attacks remain murky, but Jewish community leaders do not accept Mayor Bill de Blasio's offered explanation — that right-wing ideology is the root cause. De Blasio addressed the growing number of incidents in June, pointing his finger at conservatives and arguing that “the ideological movement that is anti-Semitic is the right-wing movement."

Kamala Harris: ‘There’s No Question I’m in Favor of Banning Fracking’

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) promised on Wednesday to ban hydraulic fracking outright if elected president in 2020.

Harris, who cosponsored the initial Green New Deal resolution in Congress this year, made the pledge during CNN’s climate change town hall when asked by a member of the audience if she was in favor of prohibiting fracking on her first day in office.

“There’s no question I’m in favor of banning fracking,” Harris said. “Starting with what we can do on day one around public lands and then there has to be legislation, but yes. This is something I’ve taken on in California, I have a history of working on this issue.”

Contrary to the rhetoric, Harris was seen as “lukewarm” to fracking during her tenure as California’s attorney general from 2011 to 2017. As Breitbart News previously reported, she took a moderate position on the issue in 2016, claiming she was skeptical of fracking but would refrain from cracking down on the practice until regulations were available.

'We are law-abiding Americans': NRA fires back after San Francisco labels them a domestic terror group

The National Rifle Association released a video on Wednesday in response to the city of San Francisco voting to label the gun rights group as a domestic terror organization.

The city's Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution written by Supervisor Catherine Stefani at a Tuesday meeting.

“The National Rifle Association spreads propaganda that misinforms and aims to deceive the public about the dangers of gun violence,” Stefani wrote. “The NRA exists to spread disinformation, and knowingly puts guns into the hands of those who would harm and terrorize us.”

The NRA also put out a statement that criticized the board for not focusing on the city's main problems, such as homelessness and drug abuse.

73% Of Republican Students Have Withheld Views In Class Fearing Grades Would Suffer

"I’m a conservative, but my essays are very liberal..."

A survey of 1,000 Republican and Republican-leaning college students has found that nearly three-quarters of them have withheld their political views in class for fear their grades would suffer.

The online poll was conducted in late August exclusively for The College Fix by College Pulse, an online survey and analytics company focused on college students. Only students who self-identify as Republican or Republican-leaning were polled.

The question asked: “Have you ever withheld your political views in class for fear that your grades would suffer?” Seventy-three percent of students who identity as “strong Republican” reported that they had, while 71 percent of students who identify as “weak Republican” said yes.

Even students who identify as Republican-leaning independents indicated they’ve kept quiet: 70 percent reported they have withheld their political views to protect their grades.

15 Confirmed Rabies Cases In Worcester This Year

SNOW HILL – The Worcester County Health Department confirmed a raccoon that was dropped off at a nature center last week has tested positive for rabies.

On Aug. 28, an unidentified man brought a sick raccoon in a box to the Nature Center at the Pocomoke River State Park at Shad Landing in Snow Hill.

Due to the ill appearance and condition of the raccoon, the Worcester County Health Department was notified, and the raccoon was sent for rabies testing. The raccoon tested positive for rabies.

“The racoon wasn’t moving around, and I don’t think the gentleman suspected the animal had rabies,” said Angela Richardson of the Worcester County Health Department’s Environmental Health program. “I think he thought something else was going on and that the nature center could help.”

OCEAN CITY — A Seaford man, convicted of possession of heroin with intent to distribute and sentenced to 14 years in prison, will not get a shot at a new trial after a state court this week denied his appeal.

On Aug. 7, 2016, an Ocean City Police Department (OCPD) officer observed a vehicle, driven by Etoyi Roach, now 43, of Seaford, making an illegal turn and cutting off a resort taxi, forcing the cab to slam on its brakes to avoid a collision. During the traffic stop, a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit was summoned to the scene and a scan of the vehicle and its occupants turned up 1,000 bags of heroin along with cocaine. Roach and one of his passengers, Ryan Steck, now 38, of Berlin, were arrested and charged with possession and possession with intent to distribute heroin. A second passenger, Jerry Weston, 37, of Greenwood, Del., was also arrested, but died while in the custody of the OCPD that same day.

Wicomico Will Revisit Fund Balance Policy

SALISBURY – Officials in Wicomico County this week took a second look at a more comprehensive fund balance policy.

On Tuesday, Director of Administration Wayne Strausburg came before the Wicomico County Council to revisit a discussion on a new fund balance policy.

Last year, county staff came before the council to present a new policy that would better maintain the county’s fund balance. At the time, the new policy recommended maintaining an unassigned fund balance between 12% and 17% of the annual operating budget and a “rainy day” fund at 5% of the annual operating budget.

“We had proposed last year a 17% targeted fund balance for uncommitted funds and continuing 5% for the rainy day fund …,” Strausburg told the council this week. “Frankly, when we sent that over last year, the 17% I was very comfortable with. I will tell you today that I probably think that’s a little light.”

We didn't have the... "Green Thing", back then

An oldie but worth repeating.

A young cashier suggested to the much older lady that she should bring her own grocery bags because plastic bags are not good for the environment.

The woman apologized to the young girl and explained, "We didn't have this 'green thing' back in my earlier days."

The young clerk responded, "That's our problem today. Your generation did not care enough to save our environment for future generations."

The older lady said that she was right -- our generation didn't have the "green thing" in its day. The older lady went on to explain:

Back then, we returned milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to the store. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles over and over. So they really were recycled.

But we didn't have the "green thing" back in our day.

Grocery stores bagged our groceries in brown paper bags that we reused for numerous things. Most memorable besides household garbage bags was the use of brown paper bags as book covers for our school books This was to ensure that public property (the books provided for our use by the school) was not defaced by our scribbles. Then we were able to personalize our books on the brown paper bags.

But, too bad we didn't do the "green thing" back then.

We walked up stairs because we didn't have an escalator in every store and office building. We walked to the grocery store and didn't climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time we had to go two blocks.

But she was right. We didn't have the "green thing" in our day.

Back then we washed the baby's diapers because we didn't have the throw-away kind. We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy-gobbling machine burning up 220 volts. Wind and solar power really did dry our clothes back in our early days. Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing.

But that young lady is right; we didn't have the "green thing" back in our day.

Back then we had one TV, or radio, in the house -- not a TV in every room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief (remember them?), not a screen the size of the state of Montana In the kitchen, we blended and stirred by hand because we didn't have electric machines to do everything for us. When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, we used wadded up old newspapers to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap.

Back then, we didn't fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn. We used a push mower that ran on human power. We exercised by working so we didn't need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity.

But she's right; we didn't have the "green thing" back then.

We drank from a fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water. We refilled writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and we replaced the razor blade in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull.

But we didn't have the "green thing" back then.

Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus and kids rode their bikes to school or walked instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service in the family's $45,000 SUV or van, which cost what a whole house did before the"green thing."

We had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances. And we didn't need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 23,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest burger joint.

But isn't it sad the current generation laments how wasteful we old folks were just because we didn't have the "green thing" back then?

We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to pi$$ us off... Especially from a tattooed, multiple pierced smart ass who can't make change without the cash register telling them how much.
