'Not sure why the negativity spread': NFL quarterback defends himself against bigotry allegations after appearing in Christian video

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees defended himself against attacks that he is anti-gay for participating in a promotional video for a Christian organization.

Brees appeared in the 22-second video for Focus on the Family as part of a "Take Your Bible to School Day" initiative.

The 12-time Pro Bowler and future Hall of Famer was harshly criticized for his appearance because Focus on the Family is a Christian organization that does not endorse gay rights.

  2. Focus on the Family is not bigoted, they are just wrong.

It is equally as wrong, to call this quarterback or Focus on the Family bigoted. They are not.

The organization does funnel money to people and groups that attempt to stop gays from access to legal marriage, and that is a problem. They also support discredited and exceptionally harmful "conversion therapy". So there ARE some problems here.

To be fair, it is part of their religious perspective, and they ARE clear that gays are Gods children and that he loves them as such and should be treated with respect and dignity and not made to be marginalized... but they are true to what they believe the scripture says.

So there ARE problems, but Bigotry, is not one of them.

LMAO - so Mariage is to anything? Problem is 98% of the country has to accept the 2% I guess. Drag Queens in schools, and sit down reading on sexuality is way better than teaching the Bible. Liberalism is a sickness.

Might equals right? That's your argument?

Your percentages are all wrong too. 98%? 2%? What are they representative of, specifically? I think you are making it up, but am happy to be corrected. Oh... 2017 Gallop poll 64% of Americans support gay marriage.

Oh, btw... I happen to be Conservative and voted for Trump... I just use my brain and think for myself and don't parrot nonsense.

  7. 1:39 So the reality is that people are gay, and gay people form life long unions. So really all the 2% are asking is that you get your head out of the clouds and accept reality. lol

All that to say, Maaaan it is almost 2020. This country is drowning in debt. We have enemies at the gate. And our political system from local to state is full of cronyism. I think we have much bigger fish to fry that what Earl and Bob are doing next door.
