Trump: ‘African Americans Will Not Vote for’ Biden Due to Role in 1994 ‘Super Predator’ Crime Bill

The left cannot attack Trump over these remarks because they confronted Hillary over the bill during the 2016 election.

President Donald Trump went after former Vice President Joe Biden, the front runner in the 2020 Democratic primary, for his role in the 1994 Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act.

Biden wrote the bill when he served as a senator from Delaware and chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Trump may have a point because the law eventually fell out of favor with people on both sides since “critics said it caused prison populations to swell and resulted in the mass incarceration of African Americans on drug charges.”

You know what’s weird? Publications said the exact same thing about Hillary Clinton in 2016 since President Bill Clinton signed the bill into law.

The left cannot go after Trump for his remarks because The New York Times published an article in 2015 titled Joe Biden’s Role in ’90s Crime Law Could Haunt Any Presidential Bid and the author Nicholas Fandos wrote with the same sentiment as Trump’s tweets.

More Americans say Trump has presidential qualities: Gallup

More Americans now say President Trump has the personality and leadership qualities a president should have than they did two years ago, according to a new poll.

Forty percent of Americans surveyed in the Gallup poll released Tuesday said that Trump has presidential qualities. That percentage has risen from 33 percent in 2017.

Despite the increase, a majority of respondents — 58 percent — said that Trump lacks those qualities.

Roughly 6 in 10 respondents thought Trump’s predecessors, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, had presidential characteristics at similar points in their presidencies, Gallup noted.

Liberal groups sue over Trump administration's conscience objection rule

A collection of legal groups sued the Trump administration Tuesday over new rules that protect medical workers with religious objections from being forced to provide or refer to abortion, sterilization, or medically assisted suicide.

The Center for Reproductive Rights, Lambda Legal, Americans United for Separation of Church and State, and Santa Clara County are asking the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of California to strike down the rule, which they are referring to as the "denial of care rule." The groups are representing medical facilities, community centers, and civil rights organizations across the U.S.

"Religious liberty is the right to believe or not, to worship or not, as you see fit," Richard Katskee, legal director at Americans United for Separation of Church and State, said in a phone call with reporters. "When it is distorted into being a weapon, a way to discriminate against and harm other people, to make them bear the costs and burdens of your religious exercise, that goes way beyond what is constitutionally permissible, yet that is exactly what the government has licensed here."

High school blurs out MAGA hats in yearbook

A public high school in Pennsylvania is facing criticism after student hats expressing support for President Trump were censored in a yearbook photo.

Two students at Littlestown Senior High School in Littlestown, Pa., were outraged after discovering that someone edited and blurred out their “Trump: Make America Great Again” hats in a photo taken during the school's spirit week in October.

According to Fox43, when they finally opened their yearbooks this month, they discovered that their hats been blurred, leaving no trace of the MAGA message.

Brennan was triggered after the news broke and lashed out at the president.

On Friday Brennan joined Chris Hayes on MSNBC and continued to lash out at Trump calling his move “outrageous… unprecedented.”

Democrat Claims Four Trump Campaign Members Targeted with FISA Investigations

Democrat Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee claimed several times during a hearing that four members of the Trump campaign were the subjects of Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) investigations.

Lee’s claims have not been publicly confirmed, but were also not explicitly denied during the hearing in question, with a Justice Department lawyer cautioning against the discussion of classified information.

As of now, the government has only confirmed that Carter Page, a tangential adviser to the Trump campaign, was under surveillance with FISA warrants during the Obama administration. The warrants were reportedly obtained citing the discredited anti-Trump dossier produced by Fusion GPS and funded by Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

Lee made the claim about FISA and the four Trump campaign members while she was posing questions to former Attorney General Loretta Lynch during a December 2018 House Judiciary Committee hearing. A transcript of the hearing was released online last week.

Chicago shootings: More than 34 shot – 5 fatally – during Memorial Day weekend: police

By Sunday evening of Memorial Day weekend, Chicago police had responded to the shootings of 34 people, five of whom died of their injuries, officials said.

The grim tally grew as a shooting Sunday about 6 a.m. in the 1300 block of West Hastings Street left two dead and three injured. The shooting was possibly in retaliation for an earlier one in the same University Village neighborhood where large crowds had gathered, and which also left a man dead, investigators said.

Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesman for the Chicago Police Department, said detectives believe there is a connection between the two shootings — on the same block, hours apart — that in total killed three people and injured five more.

“We do believe that the two shootings from 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. are connected,” Guglielmi wrote in an email to the Tribune.

Some Gave All - Let's Call It Enough

Let’s reduce the future population of the memorialized...

All those members of the United States military who have perished in service are honored today, as they should be – from the 18 lost in the invasion of Grenada to the hundreds of thousands who fought and died in World War II.

The history of Memorial Day is an interesting read, filled with facts and legends. One of my favorites is that the day’s placement at the end of May was decided so that all America has flowers in bloom to lay on the graves of her war dead. Another is that remembrances take place at 3 p.m. local time around the country. Attending one of these events is a sober reminder of those who we ask, or so tragically force, to go and kill and die for us.

The scandal of Memorial Day is that too many of the memorials have been unnecessary. Too many gravestones are there not because they were needed to secure peace and liberty at home, but instead to advance some interest not found in the Constitution and likely not supported by most Americans, who would only learn the facts later. Once again, we are perhaps on the brink of creating more souls to memorialize and need to think thrice before we do so.

HHS Moves to Protect Religious Health Providers

The Trump administration issued a new proposal that would safeguard the conscience rights of hospitals and doctors.

On Friday, the Department of Health and Human Services issued a new rule to reverse an Obama-era regulation that would have allowed those seeking abortions or sex changes to sue providers for discrimination. Obama-era regulators had attempted to expand anti-discrimination language in the Affordable Care Act to include gender identity and termination of a pregnancy. The Trump administration is seeking to return to the previous anti-discrimination standard covering race, color, national origin, disability, age, and sex. The agency said this could save "billions of dollars in undue regulatory burdens, further substantive compliance, [and] reduce confusion" over federal discrimination measures.

"In order to better comply with the mandates of Congress, address legal concerns, relieve billions of dollars in undue regulatory burdens, further substantive compliance, reduce confusion, and clarify the scope of Section 1557, the Department proposes … to eliminate provisions that are inconsistent or redundant with pre-existing civil rights statutes," the department said in a proposal published to the Federal Register on Friday. "The Department believes that the [Obama] Rule exceeded its authority … adopted erroneous and inconsistent interpretations of civil rights law, caused confusion, and imposed unjustified and unnecessary costs."

Compulsively Check Your Smartphone? Knowing Why Can Help You Stop

Everywhere you look, people are checking their smartphone with great frequency — and not just teens and college students.

For some, smartphone behavior has become compulsive, with negative effects on their lives.

Scientists at the University of Washington (UW) found a series of triggers, shared by all age groups, that initiated and ended habitual smartphone use.

The researchers also investigated solutions smartphone users created to curb an undesirable level of use.

“Our findings primarily target designers, helping them understand what makes digital experiences meaningful for people. What we learned also shows that designing apps that are easy to pick up and put down at will is better for users than combating attention-grabbing apps with lockout mechanisms,” Alexis Hiniker, PhD, co-author of the study, told Healthline.

“Our findings also describe in detail what compulsive phone use is like in the moment, the factors that trigger it, and the factors that help users break out of that cycle,” Hiniker said.

Brennan, Clapper lash out at Trump for declassifying 2016 election intel

Former CIA Director John Brennan and former DNI James Clapper blasted President Trump on Friday night for directing Attorney General William Barr to declassify documents related to the surveillance of his campaign during the 2016 election, calling it "outrageous."

"I see it as a very, very serious and outrageous move on the part of Mr. Trump, once again, trampling on the statutory authorities of the Director of National Intelligence and the heads of the independent intelligence agencies," Brennan told MSNBC host Chris Hayes. "And it's unclear to me what Mr. Barr is actually going to do. Is he investigating a crime? Well, what's the predication of that crime? Or he is just going to be looking for information... that Mr. Trump can just give to his defenders on the right and cherry-pick information that could be taken out of context?"

Liz Cheney: Statements by Peter Strzok, Lisa Page ‘Could Well Be Treason’

Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) said negative statements by former FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page while investigating President Donald Trump sounded “a whole lot like a coup” and added that it could even be “treason.”

Cheney said, “What is crucially important to remember here is that you had Stzrok and Page who were in charge of launching this investigation and they were saying things like we must stop this president. We need an insurance policy against this president. That in my view when you have people that are in the highest echelons of the law enforcement of this nation saying things like that, that sounds an awful lot like a coup, and it could well be treason."

She added, “Think about the fact that we had people that are at the highest levels of our law enforcement in this nation saying that they were going to stop a duly-elected President of the United States..."

The left now has a MeToo problem with Martin Luther King Jr.

The left, which has been so eager to topple statues of Confederate generals, slave-owning founding fathers such as Thomas Jefferson, even Kate Smith who sang objectionable racist songs early in her career, now has a Martin Luther King, Jr. problem.

According to the Daily Mail:

Secret FBI tapes that accuse Martin Luther King Jr of having extramarital affairs with '40 to 45 women' and even claim he 'looked on and laughed' as a pastor friend raped a parishioner exist, an author has claimed.

The civil rights hero was also heard allegedly joking he was the founder of the 'International Association for the Advancement of P***y-Eaters' on an agency recording that was obtained by bugging his room, according to the sensational claims made by biographer David Garrow - a Pulitzer prize-winning author and biographer of MLK.

Writing in British magazine Standpoint, Garrow says that the shocking files could lead to a 'painful historical reckoning' for the man who is celebrated across the world for his campaign against racial injustice.

That's pretty disgusting stuff. And for the left, which has lived by the statue-toppling, it can now die by the statue-toppling.

NATELSON: DEMOCRATS ARE PUSHING FOR THE THIRD-WORLD NATIONAL POPULAR VOTE

On May 21, the Nevada Senate approved the National Popular Vote (NPV) interstate compact. Approval was strictly party-line, with all Democrats in favor and all Republicans against. Colorado’s Democratic legislature approved NPV earlier this year.

Since 1864, every state has recognized the right of its people to choose their presidential electors. NPV would change that. Irrespective of how the people of an NPV state voted, its electors would be chosen by the “national popular vote winner.” And to qualify as the “national popular vote winner,” a presidential candidate would need only a plurality — not a majority — of ballots cast nationwide. There would be no run-off elections.

The compact would come into effect once states controlling a majority of the Electoral College sign on.

Critics observe that NPV could enable comparatively few states or urban areas to elect the president. They further observe that NPV encourages states to inflate their popular vote totals. Less noticed is that NPV would disable the Constitution’s provisions for run-off elections in Congress. And NPV suffers from grave constitutional defects.

Ex-Contributors: CNN 'Openly Despises Conservatives,' Has Become The 'Hate Trump' Network

According to several former contributors to the cable news network, CNN has increasingly become the anti-conservative, "hate Trump" network that allows only Republicans critical of the president on their airwaves and has systematically "squeezed out" conservative voices.

"Most of us got squeezed out involuntarily," former CNN contributor and former Rep. Jack Kingston (R-GA) told Mediaite. "I was there for 2 years and was certainly willing to continue. It was clear to me in the end that the Republicans they prefer are anti-Trump Republicans."

Mediaite also spoke with former CNN analyst Stephen Moore, who echoed Kingston's sentiments about the network's apparent preference for anti-Trump Republicans, noting that one of the few Republicans they feature is former Ohio Gov. and vocal Trump critic John Kasich.

"CNN is the hate Trump network," said Moore. "They just trash Trump every single hour of every single day. All they’ve talked about for two years is the Muller report and how bad does it make them look now that it proved nothing?"

Private group that vowed to build border wall puts up New Mexico segment

A leader with the group that's been raising funds to build a southern border wall on its own says they erected less than a mile of wall on private land in New Mexico over Memorial Day weekend.

Dustin Stockton, co-founder of the nonprofit WeBuildtheWall Inc., told The Associated Press Monday that they spent about 10 days moving dirt before starting construction Friday.

He said the wall segment in Sunland Park is "mostly up" and should be completed by the end of the week.

Dem Rep Porter: Congressional Clout Helped Erase My Medical Bills

Congresswoman Katie Porter (D, Calif.,) revealed in a subcommittee meeting that a tangled mess of health care bills she was facing was cleared up when a patient advocate told the insurance company Porter had been recently elected to the House of Representatives.

In a Tuesday hearing titled "Protecting Patients from Surprise Medical Bills," the freshman representative told her personal story of needing an emergency appendectomy last August. She said she was shocked to get a bill for $3,000 because one of the surgeons was out of her provider network.

"As I continued to fight my insurance company, I kept receiving bills from the surgeon," she said at one point. "Eventually, nearly five months after I was hospitalized, the surgeon was forced to simply request payment."

Porter had also claimed in her remarks that some documents she received in the mail had said her surgeon was in-network, but this matter never seemed to ever be fully factually determined.

Moments later, she said how the entire bill became settled.

Federal Court: First Amendment Protects Sharing Food With Homeless People

Publishers Notes: For years we at Salisbury News would take the advertising revenue we'd collect and Pay It Forward, until Jim Ireton and Salisbury Police Chief Barbara Duncan stopped us dead in our tracks. When a local Fire Department, Church, VFW, etc., would hold a fundraiser they'd sell 200 or 300 tickets to a dinner to raise money for a particular member and they'd ask if we would be willing to promote the event. Ultimately SBYNews would buy out the entire event and ask on that day that they package up individual meals so we could feed the homeless. We killed two birds with one stone. The event was immediately sold out and the food would be donated. Once Jim Ireton found out what we were doing, he and Chief Duncan went to the Health Department and immediately stopped us from doing such a great thing. The article below is a step in the right direction and hopefully Salisbury will follow suit.

In a colorful decision that managed to invoke the Boston Tea Party, Lady Macbeth and Jesus of Nazareth, the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appealsruled on Wednesday that feeding the homeless is “expressive conduct protected by the First Amendment.” The decision revives a challenge brought by a local chapter of Food Not Bombs, which sued Fort Lauderdale, Florida for requiring a permit to share food in public parks.

Thanks to the city's ordinance, Fort Lauderdale has become infamous for cracking down on compassion. In 2014, police arrested a 90-year-old man and two ministers who were simply trying to share food with the homeless.

“We are very pleased with this ruling, and we look forward to continuing our community organizing in Fort Lauderdale,” Nathan Pim, a member of Fort Lauderdale Food Not Bombs and a plaintiff in the case, said in a statement. “We hope we are one step closer to something we've fought for over many years—simply being able to help people without being threatened with arrest by people who should be working with us.”

HERE IS WHAT ADULTS CONCEIVED IN RAPE HAVE TO SAY ABOUT ABORTION

These adults conceived through rape want lawmakers to know that their lives, and the lives of all babies conceived through rape, are worthy of protection as pro-choice advocates say laws should permit abortions in cases of rape or incest.

Missouri, Georgia, Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama and Ohio have enacted abortion legislation in the past year, causing pro-choice advocates to speak out in an uproar of protests. Planned Parenthood and the ACLU filed a lawsuit Friday against Alabama abortion legislation.

But Rebecca Kiessling, a woman conceived through a brutal sexual attack on her mother, claims that lawmakers should punish rapists and not babies.

Kiessling is the founder and president of Save the 1, an organization dedicated to educate the public on saving the 1% of aborted babies conceived through rape.

"Everything Is Under Scrutiny": 38,000 Layoffs Across Auto Industry May Only Be The Beginning

Automakers can’t help but acknowledge the global recession in their industry after a decade of growth. As a result, they are slashing payroll across the board, according to Bloomberg. Countries like China, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada and the United States have all seen at least 38,000 job cuts over the last six months in the automotive sector. And this could just be the beginning of larger cuts to come.

Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche said Wednesday that "sweeping cost reductions" are ahead to prepare for what he is calling "unprecedented" industry disruption.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch analyst John Murphy said: “The industry is right now staring down the barrel of what we think is going to be a significant downturn. The pace of decline in China is a real surprise.”

Automakers are cutting shifts and closing factories across the world but the cost cutting goes beyond that. Salaried workers are also being cut, a surefire sign that slowing sales in both China and the US are taking their toll. Additionally, the slow down is coming at a time when automakers have deployed significant capital to invest in electric vehicles.

Columnist’s Trump Quote Went Viral — Then He Admitted He Made It Up

Time Magazine columnist Ian Bremmer on Sunday tweeted a quote from President Donald Trump about North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un that quickly went viral — but it wasn’t real.

“President Trump in Tokyo: ‘Kim Jong Un is smarter and would make a better President than Sleepy Joe Biden.'” Bremmer wrote on Twitter.

While Trump did praise the North Korean dictator’s insult of former Vice President Joe Biden, the president never said what Bremmer quoted him saying — because Bremmer made it up.

Bremmer left the false post up for several hours before conceding he made up the quote and deleting the tweet, which he defended as “plausible.”

Bremmer’s tweet went viral among Trump critics before he took it down.

“Don’t shrug your shoulders. Don’t get used to this insanity,” wrote CNN contributor Ana Navarro. Her tweet amplifying Bremmer’s fake quote was shared thousands of times across Twitter.

Democrat Rep. Ted Lieu also spread Bremmer’s false tweet. Lieu later wrote that he “removed the retweet” after Bremmer admitted the quote was fake.

Left-wing activist group Media Matters‘ deputy director of rapid response, Andrew Lawrence, also amplified the invented quote.

There is no “cover-up” by President Donald Trump going on, as wrongly claimed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. Nor are Cabinet officials engaged in a cover-up.

Md. Leaders Seek Briefing From NSA On Report That NSA Tool Was Used In Ransomware Attack

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Baltimore City Council President Brandon Scott has called for Gov. Hogan to seek a federal emergency and disaster declaration for the weeks-long cyber attack that brought the city government computer systems and citizen services down.

If granted, the Presidential FEMA declaration would allow for federal reimbursement for damages, costs and infrastructure repairs related to the attack.

The New York Times reported Saturday that the Baltimore City attack and other attacks against cities and towns across the U.S. are the result of a National Security Agency developed cyberweapon that was stolen in a security breach.

The weapon, “EternalBlue” is estimated to have caused billions of dollars in damages and is believed to be the most destructive and costly NSA security breach in history, the release said.

Trump never revoked John Brennan's security clearance

President Trump never revoked former CIA Director John Brennan's security clearance.

The president announced in August that Brennan's security clearance was being stripped due to "erratic behavior" that disqualified him from having access to sensitive information.

But the White House never followed through with the complicated bureaucratic process of revocation, a source told the New York Times.

A CIA spokesperson declined to comment, telling the Washington Examiner the agency does not discuss individual security clearances. The White House did not immediately return a request for comment.

The revelation comes after Trump gave Attorney General William Barr "full and complete authority to declassify information" related to the origins of the federal investigation into possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russia. A day later, it was reported the order could put at risk a key CIA informant who provided information about the Kremlin's role in interfering in the 2016 election.

Barr, who asked the White House for the new power, has been reviewing the counter-intelligence investigation into the Trump campaign for weeks. Barr tasked U.S. Attorney John Durham with reviewing the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation and says he is working closely with Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz's Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act abuse investigation. Republican allies of Trump say information could soon come out that will show misconduct by Brennan and other former Obama administration leaders.
