Former Baltimore Community High School Principal Charged With Multiple Counts Of Felony Theft And Misappropriation By A Fiduciary

State Prosecutor Emmet C. Davitt announced today that the Baltimore City Grand Jury has returned three indictments charging former Baltimore Community High School Principal Leslie Lewis, age 44, of Owings Mills, Maryland in connection with thefts of money and property from the school. Lewis is charged in a total of six counts; three separate counts of theft, two counts of misappropriation by a fiduciary and one count of conspiracy to commit theft. Her colleague, Albert Fluker, age 45, of Randallstown, a former teacher at the school, was also charged with theft and conspiracy to commit theft. The case was referred to the State Prosecutor’s Office by the Baltimore City Public School System’s Office of Legal Counsel.

The charges allege that in one scheme Lewis, while employed as Principal of Baltimore Community High School, stole approximately $13,409.28 from a PNC bank account which she set up on behalf of Baltimore Community High School. These funds were the proceeds of the sale of school uniforms, school supplies, snacks, class dues payments, and graduation fees. Lewis used an ATM/ Debit card associated with this PNC account to make 49 ATM withdrawals at Maryland Live Casino.

A second scheme charges that Lewis used deceptive purchase orders to steal over $40,000.00 worth of technology from Baltimore City Public Schools through their internal purchasing system.

The third indictment charges a scheme in which Lewis and Fluker worked together to steal four flat screen televisions from the school. Both are charged with theft and conspiracy to commit theft of the televisions.

State Prosecutor Emmet C. Davitt stated: “There is no one more trusted and relied upon in the school system than a school principal. The betrayal of that trust by Ms. Lewis is monumentally offensive and cannot be tolerated.”

Although charged, the Defendants are presumed innocent unless and until there is a conviction.

ISIS Could Eradicate Christians From Middle East

Congress demands action to stop genocide

Christians living in areas controlled by the Islamic State continue to be killed en masse by the radical Muslim group, threatening their existence in the region, according to a bipartisan delegation of lawmakers who are calling on the Trump administration to immediately take steps to end what they describe as genocide.

Not a single ISIS perpetrator has been held accountable for genocide, crimes against humanity, or war crimes since former Secretary of State John Kerry formally declared genocide was taking place in the region, according to the group of lawmakers, who slam the former administration for its lack of action.

The United Nations has also failed to take action, prompting accusations that the international organization is overlooking the systematic slaughter of Christian populations who have lived in the region for centuries.

The lawmakers are seeking to ensure that the Trump administration does not ignore the issue, as the Obama administration did for years while ISIS slaughtered Christians and other minority groups.

Disney Coughs Up $3.8 Million For Violating Minimum Wage Laws

Walt Disney Co. has agreed to pay $3.8 million in back wages, after a U.S. Department of Labor investigation found the company in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Some 16,339 hotel and time-share management employees will receive a portion of the near $4 million pay out. The Labor Department’s Wage and Hour Division found Disney in violation of U.S. minimum wage standards, overtime compensation, and bookkeeping provisions, it reports.

Resort employees incurred a uniform, or “costume,” deduction from their paychecks, causing their hourly compensation to fall below the federal minimum wage. Disney resorts also reportedly did not pay employees for work-related activities performed before and after their designated shift. Management failed to keep any time or payroll records.

U.N. commission pushes legal and propaganda offensive against Israel

A just-published United Nations report that claims to find Israel guilty of the “crime of apartheid,” is only one element of a broader legal and propaganda offensive being pushed by an obscure U.N. regional commission to stigmatize America’s close ally and build support for the Palestinian cause, according to documents examined by Fox News.

The offensive has been gestating for at least two years within the U.N.’s Economic and Social Commission for West Asia (ESCWA), whose entire membership are Arab states, and is timed to this year’s 50th anniversary of the 1967 war between Arab states and Israel, which resulted in Israel’s control of the occupied territories of the West Bank and Gaza.

At least one additional report commissioned by ESCWA, attempting to create an “innovative” and “scientific” methodology for estimated the cost of Israel’s 50-year control of the territories, is still in the works, with the aim of demanding billions in reparations for Palestinians.

HOW VARIOUS MEDIA COVER ROCKVILLE ILLEGAL-ALIEN ALLEGED RAPISTS

A 14 year old girl was allegedly raped at Rockville High School by Henry Sanchez, 18, and Jose Montano, 17. It has been reported by some outlets that neither of the alleged rapists are in the United States legally, and both attended the school. Montgomery County, where the school is located, is very pro-illegal immigration.

Half of the local media groups report the immigration status of the two alleged rapists at least in a vague manner. Some reports mention that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is involved in some capacity. Only Fox 5 and ABC 7/Fox 45 gave lengthy, detailed breakdowns of information known regarding the alleged rapists’ immigration status.

Neither the Baltimore Sun nor the Washington Times has a story on this incident. Many failed to update their stories after the question of immigration status was made apparent in court.

Here is a breakdown of how various news outlets covered the background of the two illegals:

Planned Parenthood opponents sock it to Congress over funding

Activist groups across the country have launched a series of campaigns to demand that Congress not cave and allow funding for the biggest abortion provider in the United States to reappear in the Obamacare replacement bill.

Students for Life's president, Kristan Hawkins announced a "baby sock campaign" Thursday. Students and other anti-abortion activists plan to send Congress 323,999 baby socks, which is the number of abortions Planned Parenthood reported they performed in 2015.

Trump seeks to build 30-foot-high wall at Mexican border

WASHINGTON —The Trump administration seeks to build a 30-foot-high border wall that is difficult to climb or cut through, according to a pair of contract notices posted to a government website.

The notices were made public late Friday by Customs and Border Protection, the Homeland Security Department agency that will oversee the project and eventually patrol and maintain the wall. The proposals are due to the government by March 29.

One of the CBP contract requests calls for a solid concrete wall, while the other asks for proposals for a see-through structure. Both require the wall to sunk at least six feet into the ground and include 25- and 50-foot automated gates for pedestrians and vehicles. The proposed wall must also be built in a such a way that it would take at least an hour to cut through it with a "sledgehammer, car jack, pick axe, chisel, battery operated impact tools, battery operated cutting tools, Oxy/acetylene torch or other similar hand-held tools."

The government will award a contract based on 30-foot-wide sample walls that are to be built in San Diego.

Libyan Muslim Visiting U.S. Agrees with Trump Travel Order and Efforts to Defeat Radical Islam

Amaal Elhaaj is fighting the same radical Islamic terrorism that threatens people around the globe, including in her home country of Libya. She is also a Muslim who agrees with President Donald Trump’s travel order and his effort to keep Americans safe.

In fact, Amaal and the eight other Libyans who were granted visas by the Trump State Department came to the United States to seek help from the United Nations and the United States to achieve stability in their country and to gain support for all Muslims in Libya, not just what Amaal calls “political Islam” in power there, including the Muslim Brotherhood.

Members of that delegation, made up of tribal leaders and women activists and organized by the National Movement of Libya (NML), believe that the political processes led by the United Nations in Libya have been more accommodating to Islamists than tribes that represent much larger areas and far more people, partly due to the influence of foreign powers, including the United States under the Obama administration.

“I believe Trump is not fighting Muslims just because they are Muslims,” Amaal told Breitbart News. “And the decision he made, I can accept it … because he has to make sure the people who enter America are not the wrong people.”

Carozza pushes numerous bills this session

Maryland State Delegate Mary Beth Carozza (R-38C) has had an active couple of weeks in Annapolis, with three bills going into their initial hearings and another piece earning unanimous House approval last month, while three more measures had initial hearings this month.

On its way to the Maryland Senate is House Bill 256, which addresses adult protective services investigations. It looks to double the time local social service departments have to conduct non-emergency inquiries from 30 to 60 days. The legislation passed the house by a 138-0 vote on Feb. 23.

“I believe many of our best ideas for increasing public safety come from those on the front lines who work with our elderly on a daily basis,” Carozza said in a press release. “This change to increase the investigative time for these cases would result in more findings of abuse and neglect, and more protections for our most vulnerable elderly.”

Prohibiting bow riding is the aim of HB 1609, an emergency boat safety co-sponsored by Delegate Charles Otto (R-38A), which had an initial house hearing on Feb. 23. The legislation is cross-filed with SB1147, sponsored by Maryland Senator Jim Mathias (D-38), which had a first senate reading on Feb. 24.

Exxon Comes Out Blasting Against Crusading NY AG

ExxonMobil blasted New York’s attorney general for being behind a years-long probe into the company apparently based on a phony email scandal.

The company’s legal representatives accused Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, a Democrat, of manufacturing an email scandal involving now-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to provide a rationale for his investigation, according to court documents filed Thursday in New York.

“To date, Exxon Mobil has produced more than 2.4 million pages of documents in connection with the [New York attorney general’s] climate-change investigation and has worked diligently to respond to [Schneiderman’s] extraordinarily broad and, in our view, often unreasonable and improper, investigative demands,” the lawyers wrote in a letter to the Supreme Court of New York Thursday night.

Schneiderman has not been able to uncover any evidence supporting his belief that Exxon worked for decades to dupe the public about climate change, the letter added.

During the last 129 months, the Fed has held 86 meetings. On 83 of those occasions it either cut rates or left them unchanged.

So you can perhaps understand why Wednesday’s completely expected (for the last three weeks!) 25 bips left the day traders nonplussed. The Dow rallied over 100 points that day.

Traders understandably believe that this monetary farce can continue indefinitely, and that our Keynesian school marm’s post-meeting presser was evidence that the Fed is still their friend.

No it isn’t!

Trump Administration Rolls Back Obama Protections On Student Loans

Just days after reports emerged that student loan defaults are soaring, which is undoubtedly due to some combination of, among other things, poor job prospects for the millions of snowflakes who graduate each year with their $200,000 educations in anthropology and the moral hazard created by liberal politicians constantly calling for student debts to be 'forgiven' (a.k.a. forcefully jammed down the throats of taxpayers), the Trump administration has revoked rules put in place by Obama that barred student debt collectors from charging penalty fees on past-due loans.

Originating from the Department of Justice, the "Dear Colleague" letter (full letter included at end of post) says that Obama's unilateral rules implemented in 2015 could have "benefited from public input"...but what good is being King if you can't unilaterally force new laws on the masses? Rep. Vern Buchanan Holds Off Thousands of Leftists Who Storm His Town Hall

SARASOTA, Florida — Hard left-wing professional activists stormed a town hall held by Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-FL) here on Saturday morning, but the successful businessman-turned-congressman held his own and breezed through a rowdy capacity crowd’s efforts to disrupt President Donald Trump’s agenda.

Both sides—pro-Trump activists and anti-Trump activists—showed up in force as a capacity crowd of thousands packed into the Van Wezel Performing Arts center with thousands more watching outside. Interestingly, Trump won this district in the general election by 11 percent, so the outsized show of force from leftists is not representative of the feelings of those in the district, which sprawls along Florida’s southwestern coast.

Despite the clear and concerted efforts to disrupt, Buchanan kept his cool for more than an hour throughout, made his case, and did not buckle under the left’s pressure. When one woman, who identified herself as a lifelong Democrat who has always voted for Buchanan because she likes him personally but despises Trump, remarked that the town hall must have been “as scary for you as it is for me,” he replied: “I’m enjoying it.”

Ballad of a thin man in Cumberland

CUMBERLAND, Md. – A thin man stands outside the Union Rescue Mission. He pulls a pack of filterless cigarettes from the front pocket of his black winter coat and taps it on a gloved hand before reaching in, grabbing a smoke and lighting it.

He pulls a camouflage ball cap firmly down onto his ears as an icy gust of wind knifes between the old brick buildings along Queen City Pavement.

He's early. Or so he thinks: The mission's backdoor is locked. He appears to miss a sign on the door that reads, "All meals closed to the public!!! This is due to all the trouble and fights, sorry to those who are not the cause of this," as his painfully thin frame paces the sidewalk between the mission and a long-closed discount liquor store.

He looks old; he's likely not. Whether it is addiction, poverty or a dark sense of hopelessness that ails him, they all take the same toll: first your looks, then your virility, ultimately your potential and finally your soul.

The decision to suspend the rescue mission's public meal program for a week because of fighting and drug dealing was not taken lightly, according to Pastor David Ziler.

Neil Gorsuch and the Senate's convoluted Supreme Court confirmation dance

There is no question that Judge Gorsuch is exceptionally qualified. His background and character are unimpeachable.

The non-partisan American Bar Association has given him its highest possible rating. Even the Senator leading the charge against his nomination, Minority Leader Charles Schumer, has described Judge Gorsuch as “clearly very smart, articulate and polite, with superb judicial demeanor.”

Democrats in House of Delegates Kill Governor Hogan's Re-Districting Reform Bill Without Discussion

Governor Hogan opened this session with an ambitious open government package to combat the significant corruption we've seen in Annapolis recently. House Bill 385 was a crucial piece of that package as it would reform the way districts are drawn and end gerrymandering in the State of Maryland. Today, Democrats on the Rules and Executive Nominations committee chose to vote to kill the bill without so much as a discussion on it.

"We are extremely disappointed that the House of Delegates has chosen to kill Governor Hogan's common sense redistricting initiative without even a discussion in committee. Democrats in every other state support initiatives like these and it's clear that the Democratic establishment is only hungry to keep their power instead of letting Marylanders decide who represents them," said Maryland Republican Party Chairman Dirk Haire.

Democrats who voted to kill the bill include:

Alien crop circle? No, that’s just NASA’s newest balloon launch pad

Aviators, skydivers and other altitude-seeking enthusiasts flying out of Wanaka Airport, New Zealand, are double taking at a new topographical feature reminiscent of an alien crop circle.

Rest assured, the nearly 2,000-foot (600-meter) diameter circle with a pie-shaped wedge on one side and spokes on the other is no extraterrestrial footprint and it’s definitely no hoax. It’s NASA’s newest launch pad for launching the agency’s most advanced high-altitude, heavy-lift scientific balloon: the super pressure balloon.

Construction on the project began in earnest Feb. 28 to meet a balloon launch date that could be as early as March 25. By the time the project is complete, nearly 2,000 loads of gravel will be trucked in and compacted to form the pad

Shelby Smith loses six fingers and two toes strep

A woman who lost six fingers and two toes in a horrific case of strep throat says she's lucky to be alive as she forges ahead with her recovery.

Knoxville, Tennessee woman Shelby Smith, 27, thought she had a run-of-the-mill sore throat when she started convulsing and her lips turned blue, she explained to WATE this week.

'Still in my mind I didn't think I was as sick as I really was,' said Smith, a retail worker who is engaged to be married.

In fact, she'd gone into septic shock, a rare and potentially deadly complication of the staph infection.

Smith was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance and put into a medically induced coma for a week.

When she awoke, her hand looked 'like something from a horror movie,' Smith said.

Daily Easter Devotional - March 20

New Life for Us All
Pastor Greg Laurie
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”  1 Peter 1:3
A couple from Chicago was planning a vacation to a warmer climate, but the wife couldn't join her husband until the next day, because she was on a business trip. Her husband scribbled down her e-mail address on a little scrap of paper, but upon his arrival, he discovered that he had lost it. He wanted to send off a quick e-mail to let her know he had arrived safely. So trying his best to remember her e-mail address, he composed a brief message and sent it off.
Unfortunately, his e-mail did not reach his wife. Instead, it went to a grieving widow who had just lost her husband, a preacher, the day before. She had gone to her computer and was checking her e-mail when she let out a loud shriek and fainted on the spot. Her family came rushing in to see what was on the screen: "Dearest wife, I just checked in. Everything is prepared for your arrival tomorrow. P. S.: It sure is hot down here!"
The good news is that because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we don't have to be afraid of that real place that is hot down there. In fact, we don't even have to fear death. Because Christ died and rose again from the dead, we know that for us as believers, there is life beyond the grave.
If that were all the resurrection did for us, it would be worth the price of the ticket. Of course, we didn't buy the ticket. Christ did. But if all that Christianity offered was the hope of life beyond the grave, it still would be worth it to be a Christian.
But there is a whole lot more that the resurrection has for us. Our risen Lord will give us a new heart and put a new spirit within us “ I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” (Ezekiel 36:26). He will give us new knowledge, new comfort, new peace, and a new life in him.

Trump Budget Includes ‘Significant Funding of . . . Refugee Program’

The blueprint for the Trump administration’s FY 2018 budget released on Thursday “allows for significant funding of humanitarian assistance, including food aid, disaster, and refugee program funding” in the State Department.

“This would focus funding on the highest priority areas while asking the rest of the world to pay their fair share,” the blueprint states.

“Taken together with the executive order, it looks like the president will keep the refugee program with a lower annual number, like the 50,000 limit specified in Executive Order 13780, and when the annual determination is released, identify countries of concern in a way that excludes Somalia, and other countries of concern that are known to harbor terrorists,” a source familiar with the federal refugee resettlement program tells Breitbart News.

“As long as he keeps the refugee program going, we are going to get more people from countries related to real security issues and regardless, the program needs to be legislatively reformed and regulations that have caused Constitutional violations repealed before restarting in FY 2018,” the source adds.

The language of the blueprint, however, could be interpreted to suggest that the Trump administration’s “significant funding of . . . [the] refugee program” defines the program broadly to include safe zones in other parts of the world in addition to the federal refugee resettlement program. As such, a further reduction of refugees resettled in the United States in FY 2018 could be entirely possible.

John McCain - The Rise And Fall Of An American 'Hero'

This is an Arizona patriot's unique view on John Sydney McCain

As of late, we the people of Arizona are very shocked to see what he has become. He is a caricature of a man who, around here, is about as popular as the ping-pong president. How could the people of Arizona, the state that brought you the O.K. Corral, the Grand Canyon, constitutional carry, and sunshine 360 days a year re-elect such a steaming lumpen pile?

The truth is that Arizona like many other states is really two states, Arizona the free and Arizona the slave. The free side is much how you would imagine a free and prosperous state. Resplendent and sublime examples of the master artist’s work are everywhere. The people out here are old school salt of the earth. Cowboys get along with Indians, bikers get along with hippies, liberals with conservatives. Its a place, as my venerated 77 year old neighbor once said to me, “everybody knows everybody’s business but minds their own.” People are kind and polite, willing to help a stranger.

The down side of Arizona is Maricopa county, or as we call it out here, “the late great state of Maricopa,” which is Phoenix and the metro areas surrounding the capitol. The geographic area is roughly ten percent of the land mass but over sixty percent of the human population. This creeping concrete jungle is dependent on the good grace of the rest of the state for its water and power.

As of late it seems this mini metropolis has been infected with the Soros self destructing ideals of wholly owned politicians, defective voting machines, and a spike in immigrants from places where we can’t even say their names. There is a mountain of circumstantial evidence that Maricopa county is compromised as far as elections go. Do you really believe that Sheriff Arpio lost the election to a cop who has always been pro illegal immigration? Or that local reported irregularities, in mainly democrat controlled precincts, somehow did not favor the Soros-Obama machine. I know, fake news right?

I have some pretty vivid memories of growing up in Arizona. We were still part of the wild west, all our roads and days seemed to stretch before us beyond the vast horizon. America still seemed on the ascendancy even though looking back we had probably reached our peak years before my birth. Even after watching in horror as we bugged out of Saigon and dumped our helicopters into the bottom of the ocean we still believed in hero’s.

Senate hearings get underway on Trump Supreme Court pick

WASHINGTON —Thirteen months after Antonin Scalia's death created a vacancy on the Supreme Court, hearings get underway on President Donald Trump's nominee to replace him.

Judge Neil Gorsuch, 49, is a respected, highly credentialed and conservative member of the Denver-based 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. His nomination has been cheered by Republicans and praised by some left-leaning legal scholars, and Democrats head into the Senate Judiciary Committee hearings on Monday divided over how hard to fight him.

The nomination has been surprisingly low-key thus far in a Capitol distracted by Trump-driven controversies over wiretapping and Russian spying as well as attempts to pass a divisive health care bill. That will change this week as the hearings give Democratic senators a chance to press Gorsuch on issues like judicial independence, given Trump's attacks on the judiciary, as well as what they view as Gorsuch's own history of siding with corporations in his 10 years on the bench.

IRS has 7,000 unreleased documents related to conservative and Tea Party targeting

The IRS has told a federal court that they've recently identified almost 7,000 more documents that could contain information on how the agency targeted the tax-exempt applications of Tea Party organizations or other conservative political groups starting back in 2010, according to a court document.

But IRS in the document would not commit to a timeline for releasing the documents.

The revelation of thousands of unreleased documents was made in response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit from Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog group that specializes in filing, and in many instances litigating, FOIA requests.

Murder or Self-Defense if Officer Is Killed in Raid?

SOMERVILLE, Tex. —
Joshua Aaron Hall had been a resident of the Burleson County Jail for about a week when he requested a meeting with Gene Hermes, the sheriff’s investigator who had locked him up for violating probation. The stocky lawman arrived in the featureless interview room on the morning of Dec. 13, 2013, placed his soda cup on the table and apologized for not getting there sooner. He asked in his gravelly drawl if they would be talking about Mr. Hall’s own case.

“No,” said Mr. Hall, a methamphetamine user and petty criminal who was facing his most serious jail time. “I want to give you something else.”

Mr. Hall reminded the investigator that they had spoken previously about the narcotics trade in the vast flatlands of central Texas. “Gene, you said you wanted to eradicate the problem,” Mr. Hall said. “And I’ve been thinking for the past couple of days that, you know, maybe I’m put in this position to help you do this.”

“All right,” the investigator said.

“I know of an illegal grow operation,” Mr. Hall volunteered.

Investigator Hermes nodded. “Big grow, small grow?”

NSA DOCUMENTS PROVE SURVEILLANCE OF DONALD TRUMP & HIS FAMILY

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Infowars.com have obtained credible information from law enforcement sources regarding individual records of U.S. citizens under National Security Agency (NSA) electronic surveillance in the years 2004 through 2010 – a database that suggests both Donald J. Trump and Alex Jones were under illegal, unauthorized government monitoring during those years.

Michael Zullo, formerly the commander and chief investigator of the Cold Case Posse (CCP), a special investigative group created in 2006 in the office of Joseph M. Arpaio, formerly the sheriff in Maricopa County, an Arizona State Certified Law Enforcement Agency, headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, provided sections of the database to Infowars.com.

The electronic surveillance database, provided to Zullo by a whistleblower in 2013, was apparently created by the NSA as part of the NSA’s illegal and unconstitutional Project Dragnet electronic surveillance of U.S. citizens, first revealed by news reports published in 2005, as further documented by the revelations of whistleblower Edward Snowden in 2013.

The following is an attempt to explain the Trump phenomenon. It is NOT a pro-Trump article; it is simply an explanation for how Trump accomplished what he did, and why so few predicted his success and the impact of his economic policies.

There’s a simple reason so few people in the media and in finance understand the economic impacts of a Trump Presidency.

That reason is summated in this chart:
The percentage of people who are business owners relative to the overall employed population, is at an all time low.

The Fast Company, Shark Tank echo chamber would have you believe that entrepreneurialism is in a bubble.

It’s not.

Bar association gives Gorsuch its best rating

The American Bar Association declared Judge Neil Gorsuch “well-qualified” to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday, giving President Donald Trump’s pick to succeed the late Antonin Scalia the group’s highest rating.

The bar association’s standing committee on the federal judiciary reached its decision unanimously, according to Nancy Scott Degan, the group’s chair.

Degan informed Sens. Chuck Grassley and Dianne Feinstein, the top Republican and Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, respectively, of the committee’s rating in a letter Thursday. She also wrote to White House counsel Don McGahn and Gorsuch, she said.

Gorsuch, a conservative whose appointment has been happily received by Senate Republicans, is widely considered qualified to serve on the high court, given his experience as a federal appellate judge. Democrats who have criticized the choice have focused on their ideological concerns, rather than raising questions about his qualifications.

Grassley, the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman, reacted to the bar association’s decision with a glowing statement on Thursday.

Grover Norquist: This week that guaranteed Trump's re-election and GOP gains in 2018 and 2020

Remember the date of March 13, 2017. It was the day President Trump was guaranteed his re-election and Republican congressional gains in 2018 and 2020.

It's not complicated. Follow along.

The Congressional Budget Office released its study of Trump and Paul Ryan's plan to repeal Obamacare and begin to reform our healthcare system. It had many numbers. Only two mattered: taxes and spending.

CBO announced that the repeal bill reduces taxes by almost $900 billion and reduces federal spending by $1.2 trillion over the next decade. This reduces deficit spending by $300 billion over the next 10 years. Thus the CBO, as official umpire, announced that the GOP Obamacare repeal plan may be enacted through "reconciliation," the process that requires a simple majority in the House and only 51 votes in the Senate. No filibuster allowed.

2. Tell the Governor you oppose this legislation.

410-841-3000
or
410-974-3901

You will get a recording, push "0" for the operator. You will not reach the Governor but you will reach one of his staff members. Be sure to take their name and write it down. Tell them you oppose this legislation AND you want to know WHY our Governor has not gone public with his position on this matter, (as stated above). Bombard them right away.

UPDATE: Governor Hogan is stating he spoke out against this a year ago, (nothing recently) and they are saying if it goes through he will veto it. Yeah, right. He vetoed other legislation and the House overrode his veto. How convenient!

30 Countries Are Refusing To Take Back Illegal Immigrants Convicted Of Serious Crimes

Approximately 30 countries are refusing to accept the deportations of illegal immigrants who have committed serious crimes in the U.S., according to Texas Rep. Henry Cuellar.

While these countries are refusing to accept the deportations of these criminals, the U.S. government is still issuing visas and student visas to citizens of those countries, according to the Texan congressman. There is already a law on the books which allows the U.S. to hold visas from a country that is not taking back its criminals, but according to Cuellar, the U.S. is not enforcing it.

“We’re not enforcing it, which is amazing. So now my intent is to go back to our committee on appropriations and affect their funding until they do that,” Cuellar told Sharyl Attkisson, host of Full Measure, in an interview.

Cuellar, a Democratic member of the House Committee on Appropriations, told Attkisson that the Supreme Court has ruled that illegal immigrants arrested for criminal activity can only be held for a certain period of time before they must be released.

First Amendment controversy brews over Texas high school's prayer room

A Texas high school's on-site prayer room -- which serves as a spot where Muslim students can pray -- is stirring controversy.

Liberty High School in Frisco established the room in 2009, but Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is concerned that the room may be off-limits to students of other religious denominations.

He said in a letter Friday to the school district that any exclusion would be inconsistent with the First Amendment’s protection of religious liberty.

A school district spokesman responded that the classroom is available to “students of all walks of life” in the afternoon when it is vacant.

Immigration Judges Headed to 12 US Cities to Speed Deportations

The U.S. Justice Department is developing plans to temporarily reassign immigration judges from around the country to 12 cities to speed up deportations of illegal immigrants who have been charged with crimes, according to two administration officials.

How many judges will be reassigned and when they will be sent is still under review, according to the officials, but the Justice Department has begun soliciting volunteers for deployment.

The targeted cities are New York; Los Angeles; Miami; New Orleans; San Francisco; Baltimore, Bloomington, Minnesota; El Paso, Texas; Harlingen, Texas; Imperial, California; Omaha, Nebraska and Phoenix, Arizona. They were chosen because they are cities which have high populations of illegal immigrants with criminal charges, the officials said.

Supreme Court rules cell phones cannot be searched without a warrant

Police need a warrant to search the cell phone of a person who has been arrested, absent special circumstances, a unanimous Supreme Court ruled Wednesday.

“Modern cell phones are not just another technological convenience. With all they contain and all they may reveal, they hold for many Americans ‘the privacies of life,’” Chief Justice John Roberts wrote. “The fact that technology now allows an individual to carry such information in his hand does not make the information any less worthy of the protection for which the Founders fought. Our answer to the question of what police must do before searching a cell phone seized incident to an arrest is accordingly simple — get a warrant.”

The high court took two cases involving cell phone searches, one involving a smartphone and the other involving a relatively basic flip phone. In both cases, police used information on each phone to connect the plaintiffs to crimes. San Diego Police used pictures in David Leon Riley’s smartphone, and the guns they found in his trunk after pulling him over for a traffic violation, to tie him to a local faction of the Bloods street gang and an earlier shooting. In Boston, Brima Wurie was arrested on suspicion of being involved in selling drugs and a picture linked to a phone call on his flip phone to a stash of crack cocaine.

As counties move to help immigration officials, Maryland lawmakers weigh policy change

When people are booked at Frederick County's jail, they're handed a form asking a series of questions, such as whether they're on medication or experiencing any pain.

It's a standard list used in many jails and booking centers, but with two additions:

What country were you born in?

What country are you a citizen or national of?

The answers to those can trigger a process unique in Maryland to Frederick County. Correctional officers trained by the federal government open an investigation into whether the arrestee is in the country illegally. If so, the officer alerts an on-site federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent, who can begin immigration proceedings against them.

NASA discovers spacecraft missing for 8 years

Space is vast, so when some piece of human technology goes missing outside of Earth's atmosphere it's very difficult to find it again. And that task gets especially hard when the object is very small and isn't emitting any kind of signal.

In October 2008, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched its first lunar probe called Chandrayaan-1. It successfully entered a lunar orbit in November 2008, but in August 2009 things started to go wrong. Technical problems began to surface including sensors failing and thermal shielding not working effectively. On August 29, 2009 contact was lost.

Chandrayaan-1 remained lost until now, some eight years later, and ISRO has NASA to thank for finding it again. NASA discovered Chandrayaan-1 maintaining a lunar orbit 124 miles above the surface using a new technological application of interplanetary radar developed by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

NASA actually located two spacecraft using this new technique and ground-based radar. The first was the agency's own Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), which was easy to find as the mission's navigators were on hand with precise orbit data. For Chandrayaan-1 however, it was a much more difficult task.

Trump is right to cut PBS/NPR funding. It's just elitist propaganda anyway

The sky is falling, and President Trump is proposing an end to federal funding for public broadcasting. Receiving $445 million in recent years, PBS, NPR, and a plethora of local stations benefit from federal subsidies at the taxpayers’ expense.

Budget hawks will be quick to point out that $445 million is but a fraction of a drop in the proverbial bucket of government spending, and it’s true. But no one is claiming that cutting public broadcasting will balance the budget. The question we should be asking is, “Why are we funding it in the first place?”

State-funded media suffer from one glaring, common problem: Someone — a central authority — gets to decide what kind of content is appropriate for the public, and what isn’t. As taxpayers, we cannot withhold our money if we object (or, are indifferent) to what we see — we have to pay for it regardless.

In most countries, this is called propaganda; the populace is fed what the government wants them to see. While public broadcasting in America is generally more benign than the term “propaganda” implies — focusing mainly on classical music and educational programming rather than fictional glorifications of Dear Leader — national media are nevertheless contrary to the American principles of a free press.

Hillary Clinton says she's 'ready to come out of the woods'

SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) — Hillary Clinton said Friday she's "ready to come out of the woods" and help Americans find common ground.

Clinton's gradual return to the public spotlight following her presidential election loss continued with a St. Patrick's Day speech in her late father's Pennsylvania hometown of Scranton.

"I'm like a lot of my friends right now, I have a hard time watching the news," Clinton told an Irish women's group.

But she urged a divided country to work together to solve problems, recalling how, as first lady, she met with female leaders working to bring peace to Northern Ireland.

"I do not believe that we can let political divides harden into personal divides. And we can't just ignore, or turn a cold shoulder to someone because they disagree with us politically," she said.

Leakers Beware: Donald Trump has Utterly Defeated the Disloyal Coteries of the Intelligence Community

President Trump has defeated Democrats in the intelligence community (IC) who were leaking classified information to the press. Such leaks have been a problem for many presidents, but Trump is the first who took a proactive approach and set up a sting operation that identified the leakers. It’s highly illegal to leak classified information. It’s also illegal to PUBLISH this information, but Trump is too smart to try and prosecute reporters.

I thought that Trump would fire members of the IC until the leaks stopped, but the president solved the problem with a much more imaginative and deadly approach: He fed the IC false information. When this information was published, Trump was able to identify individual leakers.

How?

Each group or individual who leaked was given a different version of events. This is CLASSIC spycraft. If nine individuals are told nine different stories, and then each of those stories is published, you know the identity of each person who talked to the press. It’s called a “barium meal,” after the medical test used to detect problems in the gastrointestinal tract. Soft tissues don’t show up on X-rays. Barium salts are “radio-opaque,” meaning that they show up in a radiograph or X-ray.

Statement from Governor Larry Hogan on House Bill 1362

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Larry Hogan tonight issued the following statement in response to the Maryland House of Delegates voting for final approval of House Bill 1362, which will directly interfere with the ability of state and local law enforcement to work and cooperate with federal law enforcement authorities:

“The Maryland House of Delegates tonight passed an outrageously irresponsible bill that will make Maryland a sanctuary state and endanger our citizens. This legislation would interfere with our state and local law enforcement's ability to cooperate with federal law enforcement authorities. I will veto this dangerously misguided legislation the moment that it reaches my desk.”

Dishonest NY Times Hit Piece

It is my fault. I trusted a NY Times reporter, MICHAEL M. GRYNBAUM, to be a honest reporter. He is not. Here is what he “reported:”

But Mr. Johnson, who was himself once a Fox News contributor, said in a telephone interview that Mr. Napolitano called him on Friday and requested that he speak to The New York Times. Mr. Johnson said he was one of the sources for Mr. Napolitano’s claim about British intelligence.

Mr. Johnson became infamous in political circlesafter he spread false rumors in 2008 that Michelle Obama had been videotaped using a slur against Caucasians. In the interview on Friday, Mr. Johnson acknowledged his notoriety, but said that his knowledge of surveillance of Mr. Trump came from sources in the American intelligence community. Mr. Napolitano, he said, heard about his information through an intermediary.

“It sounds like a Frederick Forsythe novel,” Mr. Johnson said.

But that is not the whole story. I told him the following. I was used in in 2008 by Sidney Blumenthal, who told me that Michell Obama was taped using the disparaging term “Whitey.” I then told Mr. Grynbaum that I went back to Sidney Blumenthal, a Hillary Clinton confidant, and asked to speak to his original source. He sent me to David Brock, Mr. Media Matters. I’ve written about this previously:

Sign the Petitions - Say No to the Maryland Sanctuary State Bill!

Last week, a 14 year old girl at Rockville High School was raped in school by two of her fellow students. One of those students had an "illegal alien deportation removal order" against them. 18 year old criminals set to be deported should not be a freshman in our public schools.
This week, Democrats in the General Assembly are looking to pass a sanctuary state bill that would prevent law enforcement from following the law to comply with immigration enforcement efforts. This is unacceptable.
Please sign the petition to tell the Democratic Establishment that they should not pass HB 1362or SB 835!

Say NO to Maryland Becoming a Sanctuary State

Democrats in Annapolis are formulating legislation and other initiatives in anticipation of changes in federal policy which they plan to introduce in the coming days. Included in the legislation is a bill that would make Maryland a sanctuary state for illegal immigrants.

Immigration advocates are working with Maryland lawmakers to draft the Maryland Trust Act. A bill shaped after a California law that restricts the state’s assistance to deportation authorities.

At present, warrant units will notify the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office right away when there is a person in custody that has a wanted detainer. Once the person in custody is in completion of the local charges, including release on bail, the federal agency is notified to pick up the person if the detention center or prison has received a copy of the judicial warrant. The warrant gives the state authority to hold a person for 48 hours.

Search Warrant Issued For Everyone Who Googled Identity Theft Victim’s Name

Try to imagine a police officer in the pre-internet era serving a search warrant on the phone company, wanting the names of everyone who looked up a certain number. What would have seemed ludicrous at the time is now feasible, and one judge believes Google should turn over the personal information for anyone who used the search engine to look up a victim’s name.
