NASA is closer to solving its space poop problem

NASA rewarded five people on Wednesday for their ideas for solving one of astronauts’ biggest problems: pooping in a spacesuit.

The honors came after the space agency, along with crowdsourcing platform HeroX, launched the Space Poop Challenge last October — a competition that asked the world to submit sanitary solutions for suits that astronauts wear up to 144 hours. More than 5,000 ideas were submitted by about 19,000 people.

“The response to the Space Poop Challenge exceeded all of our expectations,” Steve Rader, NASA Tournament Lab deputy director, said in a statement. “The level of participation and interest went far beyond what we expected for such a short competition.”

HALF of families text each other in the same house

Some will find it depressing. Others will recognise an all-too familiar snapshot of tech-obsessed modern life.

But nearly half of families with children now text each other when they are in the same house.

Just under a third of us (32 per cent) are guilty of tapping out messages on mobiles when we want to talk to someone under the same roof, according to research.

That figure rises to 45 per cent for households with children – suggesting the phenomenon is only set to get worse.

It’s not the only way mobiles get in the way of family time at home.

In a third of households, people use their mobiles during their mealtimes.

More than four in ten parents complain their children have ignored them at the table because they were so distracted by their phones. In fact, tablets and mobiles are so prevalent at home, they are also depriving us of rest.

A quarter of the 2,800 adults surveyed by Aviva admitted at least one person in their household was losing sleep because they were staying up too late on their phone, and one in five said that there was someone at home who just couldn’t ‘switch off’.

These Are Times Of General Corruption

"And I'll leave you with one set of numbers that I found today, which is just an absolute for this whole thing. In 2015, Wall Street Bonuses, not regular compensation, bonuses, seven years after they were bailed out with the public purse, totaled $29.4 billion dollars. Total compensation paid to every single person in this country who makes minimum wage totaled $14 billion...

The era of neo-liberalism is over. The era of neo-nationalism has just begun."

Mark Blyth

"Caesar was swimming in blood, Rome and the whole pagan world was mad. But those who had had enough of transgression and madness, those who were trampled upon, those whose lives were misery and oppression, all the weighed down, all the sad, all the unfortunate, came to hear the wonderful tidings of God, who out of love for men had given Himself to be crucified and redeem their sins.

When they found a God whom they could love, they had found that which the society of the time could not give any one— happiness and love."

Henryk Sienkiewicz, Quo Vadis: The Time of Nero

When historians look back on this period of the last forty years and diagnose what went wrong, they might do worse than to conclude thatat the root of it was a general failure of character, from the top down.

DNC leaders unhappy with party activists' aggressive tactics to pick new chairman

Democratic Party activists who tried unsuccessfully to sink Hillary Clinton’s nomination at last year’s convention are at it again, pestering national party members ahead of next week’s vote on a new chairman.

Party leaders are eager to incorporate the energy of progressives who buoyed Sen. Bernard Sanders’ presidential campaign last year — but less enthusiastic about the activists’ rough edges that continue to irk many Democratic National Committee members.

They say the phone calls to lobby for Rep. Keith Ellison, the choice of progressives, over Tom Perez, viewed as the establishment choice, are out of control.

Netanyahu rebuffed Kerry's secret peace offer, Obama officials claim

JERUSALEM – Israel's prime minister turned down a regional peace initiative last year that was brokered by then-American Secretary of State John Kerry, former U.S. officials confirmed Sunday.

Netanyahu took part in a secret summit that Kerry organized in the southern Jordanian port city of Aqaba last February and included Jordan's King Abdullah II and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi. The secret meeting was first reported by the Haaretz daily.

According to two former Obama administration officials, Kerry proposed regional recognition of Israel as a Jewish state -- a key Netanyahu demand -- alongside a renewal of peace talks with the Palestinians with the support of the Arab countries.

Netanyahu rejected the offer, which would have required a significant pullout from disputed territories, saying he would not be able to garner enough support for it in his hard-line coalition government.

Trump Declares CNN, NYT, CBS, ABC And NBC Are "The Enemy of The American People"

If you thought yesterday's press conference was "ranting and raving", it appears President Trump just turned the anti-'Fake news'-media amplifier up to '11', declaring  CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS , The New York Times (yet not The Washington Post) as "enemies of the American people".
The FAKE NEWS media (failing @nytimes@NBCNews@ABC,@CBS@CNN) is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American People!
Incidentally, this was the second tweet, after Trump removed the first version one, which some thought was deleted as it was just a little too "aggressive" but as it turned out, simply ommitted ABC and CBS.

As a reminder, Trump and chief White House strategist Steve Bannon have both referred to the media as the "opposition party."

Court rules that CNN officially puts out fake news

CNN aired a "series of false and defamatory news reports"

Those who accuse CNN and other mainstream media outlets of “fake news” will probably revel in a recent decision by a federal judge in Atlanta, Georgia.

While Judge Orinda Evans didn’t all out declare that CNN was peddling in falsehoods, she did take aim at the network in an initial judgment in favor of a former hospital CEO who sued CNN accusing them of purposely skewing statistics to reflect poorly on a West Palm Beach hospital. Judge Evans didn’t mince words in her 18-page order allowing the case to move forward, and dismissing CNN’s attempt to get it thrown out of court.

Davide Carbone, former CEO of St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, filed a defamation lawsuit against CNN after they aired what he claims were a “series of false and defamatory news reports” regarding the infant mortality rate at the hospital. CNN’s report said the mortality rate was three times the national average. However, Mr. Carbone contends that CNN “intentionally” manipulated statistics to bolster their report. He also claims that CNN purposely ignored information that would look favorable to the hospital in order to sensationalize the story.

More Reds Under Our Beds

President Dwight Eisenhower’s warning about the dangers of the military-industrial complex made half a century ago ring as loud and clear today. The soft coup being mounted against the Trump government by America’s ‘deep state’ reached a new intensity this week as special interests battled for control of Washington.

The newly named national security advisor, Lt Gen Michael Flynn, was ousted by Trump over his chats with Russia’s ambassador and what he may or may not have told Vice President Pence. The defenestration of Flynn appeared engineered by our national intelligence agencies in collaboration with the mainstream media and certain Democrats.

Flynn’s crime? Talking to the wicked Russians before and after the election. Big, big deal. That’s what security advisors are supposed to do: keep an open back channel to other major powers and allies. This is also the job of our intelligence agencies.

Exclusive: Hundreds of Texans May Have Voted Improperly

Texas election officials have acknowledged that hundreds of people were allowed to bypass the state's toughest-in-the-nation voter ID law and improperly cast ballots in the November presidential election by signing a sworn statement instead of showing a photo ID.

The chief election officers in two of the state's largest counties are now considering whether to refer cases to local prosecutors for potential perjury charges or violations of election law. Officials in many other areas say they will simply let the mistakes go, citing widespread confusion among poll workers and voters.

The Texas law requires voters to show one of seven approved forms of identification to cast ballots. It was softened in August to allow people without a driver's license or other photo ID to sign an affidavit declaring that they have an impediment to obtaining required identification.

Even after the affidavits were introduced, voters who possess an acceptable photo ID were still required to show it at the polls.

JUST IN: Trump Chooses H.R. McMaster as National Security Adviser

WASHINGTON — President Trump picked Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster, a widely respected military strategist, as his new national security adviser on Monday, calling him “a man of tremendous talent and tremendous experience.”

Mr. Trump made the announcement at his Mar-a-Lago getaway in Palm Beach, Fla., where he has been interviewing candidates to replace Michael T. Flynn, who was forced out after withholding information from Vice President Mike Pence about a call with Russia’s ambassador.

The choice continued Mr. Trump’s reliance on high-ranking military officers to advise him on national security. Mr. Flynn was a retired three-star general and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis is a retired four-star general. His first choice to replace Mr. Flynn, who turned the job down, and two other finalists were current or former senior officers as well.

Shortly before announcing his appointment, Mr. Trump wrote on Twitter: “Meeting with Generals at Mar-a-Lago in Florida. Very interesting!”

DNC chair contender drops out, endorses Keith Ellison

A contender to be chair of the Democratic National Committee dropped out of the race Saturday and endorsed Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., just days before Democratic officials vote on a leader at the DNC's meeting next week.

"While it was a tremendous honor to run for DNC Chair over the past few months, I am proud to throw my support behind Keith so we can ensure that the next Chair of the DNC is dedicated to investing in and strengthening state parties and ensuring that the DNC is an accountable organization," New Hampshire Democratic Party Chairman Ray Buckley said in a statement first reported by NBC News. "As I've talked to the DNC membership, it's clear Keith has widespread support, and I know as our next DNC Chair Keith will successfully unite and grow our party."

Ellison said he is "proud" to have Buckley's support. He added that he asked Buckley to "lead our effort to provide the support and resources the state parties need in a new and innovative 57 state strategy."

Ellison was viewed as a front-runner at the beginning of the DNC chairman campaign, but has seen fierce competition from former Labor Secretary Thomas Perez. Last week, Perez announced that of the 224 votes needed to win when votes are cast, he has the support of 180 of 224 DNC members. The threshold a candidate needs to pass in order to win represents just one vote above half the 447 voting members.

Commercial Breeders Love Rescue Groups

Commercial dog breeders view dogs as livestock and a “cash” crop. Most of these folks started out in other types of factory farming and failed. They then turned to dogs in the hope of an easier crop. They make no distinction between “farm” animals and “house” pets. In order to understand why it’s so important to not provide them with a source of income, you must understand this simple truth. As long as there are buyers at auctions for a particular breed, that breed will continue to be at auctions. The auctioneers and sellers care not where the money comes from; money is money. They count on rescue groups to purchase the dogs other breeders don’t want.

The auctioneers pitch goes like this to the crowd. “Where can you start your business for $800 and triple your money in a year? Breed her twice a year sell the 8 pups for pets;, sell through a broker to pet stores or here at the auction.” The auctioneer continues, telling the crowd “I was brokering 350 dogs per week. It’s easy! Go to the internet see what’s selling. Cross them with other breeds. There’s a lot of money in dogs. Look at the prices. This is a great business.”

How do I know? I was there. This is the reality of dog auctions, and you must understand that first, in order to determine the best way to deal with them. People who truly love dogs and take a special interest in a particular breed have paid exorbitant prices to rescue their breed from such a fate. The problem is the puppy millers recognize outsiders. The khaki slacks, button down shirts, wife and child are a dead give away. Millers utilize shills to bid up the prices when rescue groups are present. I recently witnessed a group of 20 Kerry Blue Terriers sell for a total value of $16,975. It is believed that many went to well intended rescue groups. This high selling price just created a demand for more dogs at future auctions! Such expenditures, though well meaning, encourage and enable puppy millers. These guys count on dog lovers to be emotionally impacted by the conditions of a puppy mill dog’s existence. It is impossible not to be. I understand and appreciate the motivation. Unfortunately, we encourage puppy millers by making the sale of dogs profitable at auctions, as there is little pet store market for our breed.

Ray Kozlowski I had the privilege to go through the immigration process with my wife and step son prior to my return to America from Japan. Guess what. It's not that painful for someone whose never committed a crime. Neither are the update appointments for their green cards.

So having been through the process I feel there is no viable reason for someone to enter the US illegally.
And the illegals are where the problem is. They're already violating our laws by entering the country illegally. Chances are good they'll continue to do so.

DUE PROCESS WINS A BATTLE AGAINST A UNIVERSITY’S KANGAROO COURT

Though federal judges tend to uphold a lot of unjust campus decisions in sex-assault cases, Judge Elizabeth Dillon, an Obama appointee, proved on December 23 that some campus procedures are just too outrageous to survive judicial review.

The judge’s due process ruling came in a case out of James Madison University. (You can read her opinion here.) After troubling appellate rulings in California(which approved a process one judge had compared to a kangaroo court) and in the 6th Circuit (where one judge suggested that military court martials represented an appropriate model for campus sexual assault cases), the Dillon ruling is important.

The James Madison case also illustrates the effects of an often- overlooked effect of the 2011 Dear Colleague letter—the requirement that colleges introduce allow accusers to appeal not-guilty findings. As in comparable cases at George Mason and the University of Michigan, at James Madison, this double-jeopardy principle created an additional layer of injustice. Indeed, in all other types of disciplinary cases at JMU, an accusing student can’t appeal a not-guilty finding.

There Is No Solution in Afghanistan

Analysis: The road to Kabul goes through Islamabad and New Delhi

The American predicament in Afghanistan is at once ridiculous and tragic. More than 8,000 U.S. troops remain in the country, prosecuting the longest war in our nation's history. Overlapping networks of insurgent groups—most prominently the Taliban—had a good year in 2016, seizing terrain and conducting terror strikes to destabilize the U.S.-backed Kabul government. The American commander in the country wants a "few thousand" more troops. Despite the supporting role that the U.S. contingent is meant to play, casualties are still being sustained, sometimes in places with depressingly familiar names—as in Sangin, seized from the Taliban a few years ago at the expense of gallons of British and U.S. Marine blood. Two Americans were wounded there last week.

The Taliban's efforts in Sangin appear to be part of a larger campaign to seize the entirety of opium-rich Helmand Province, including its capital Lashkar Gah, a small city that was untouchable during the period of peak U.S. operations but which now is battling the insurgency on its very streets. According to a U.S. government watchdog, eight out of 14 districts in Helmand are under insurgent "control or influence." One of these is Marjah district, where seven years ago today I was fighting alongside a few thousand other U.S. Marines on behalf of the Afghan government. We were told we were bringing a "government-in-a-box," and by 2011 there were manifest gains in the district's security, about which the Marines who fought there can be proud.

Obama-linked activists have a ‘training manual’ for protesting Trump

By Paul Sperry

An Obama-tied activist group training tens of thousands of agitators to protest President Trump’s policies plans to hit Republican lawmakers supporting those policies even harder this week, when they return home for the congressional recess and hold town hall meetings and other functions.
Organizing for Action, a group founded by Obama and featured prominently on his new post-presidency website, is distributing a training manual to anti-Trump activists that advises them to bully GOP lawmakers into backing off support for repealing ObamaCare, curbing immigration from high-risk Islamic nations, and building a border wall.

In a new Facebook post, OFA calls on activists to mobilize against Republicans from now until Feb. 26, when “representatives are going to be in their home districts.”

The protesters disrupted town halls earlier this month, including one held in Utah by House Oversight Chairman Jason Chaffetz, who was confronted by hundreds of angry demonstrators claiming to be his constituents.

The manual, published with OFA partner “Indivisible,” advises protesters to go into halls quietly so as not to raise alarms, and “grab seats at the front of the room but do not all sit together.” Rather, spread out in pairs to make it seem like the whole room opposes the Republican host’s positions. “This will help reinforce the impression of broad consensus.” It also urges them to ask “hostile” questions — while keeping “a firm hold on the mic” — and loudly boo the the GOP politician if he isn’t “giving you real answers.”

“Express your concern [to the event’s hosts] they are giving a platform to pro-Trump authoritarianism, racism, and corruption,” it says.

The goal is to make Republicans, even from safe districts, second-guess their support for the Trump agenda, and to prime “the ground for the 2018 midterms when Democrats retake power.”

The goal is to make Republicans, even from safe districts, second-guess their support for the Trump agenda “Even the safest [Republican] will be deeply alarmed by signs of organized opposition,” the document states, “because these actions create the impression that they’re not connected to their district and not listening to their constituents.”

After the event, protesters are advised to feed video footage to local and national media.

“Unfavorable exchanges caught on video can be devastating” for Republican lawmakers, it says, when “shared through social media and picked up by local and national media.” After protesters gave MSNBC, CNN and the networks footage of their dust-up with Chaffetz, for example, the outlets ran them continuously, forcing Chaffetz to issue statements defending himself.

The manual also advises protesters to flood “Trump-friendly” lawmakers’ Hill offices with angry phone calls and emails demanding the resignation of top White House adviser Steve Bannon.

A script advises callers to complain: “I’m honestly scared that a known racist and anti-Semite will be working just feet from the Oval Office … It is everyone’s business if a man who promoted white supremacy is serving as an adviser to the president.”

The document provides no evidence to support such accusations.
Protesters, who may or may not be affiliated with OFA, are also storming district offices. Last week, GOP Rep. Dana Rohrabacher blamed a “mob” of anti-Trump activists for knocking unconscious a 71-year-old female staffer at his Southern California office. A video of the incident, showing a small crowd around an opening door, was less conclusive.

The anonymous plaintiff in Roe v. Wade has died

Norma McCorvey was a symbol of abortion rights, but reversed her views later in life.

Norma McCorvey became an almost mythological figure to millions of Americans, more a symbol of what they believed in than who she was.

Since the landmark 1973 Supreme Court ruling of Roe v. Wade that legalized abortion in America, perhaps 50 million legal abortions have been performed in the United States.

Pruden: When the high-minded stoop to the low-down

Rage can lead the unwary to dangerous places, and some of our media notabilities are half-way there. E.J. Dionne of The Washington Post poses the question that bugs them most.

“Let’s not mumble or whisper about the central issue facing our country,” he demands. “What is this democratic nation to do when the man serving as president of the United States plainly has no business being president of the United States.”

Mr. Dionne, judging by the rants and raves on display in newspapers and on television newscasts, clearly speaks for many of his colleagues.

He doesn’t offer a direct answer to the question he bravely plucked from his navel. But the answer is logically self-evident. He clearly doesn’t think the nation can wait four or eight years to get rid of Donald Trump by defeating him in another national election. “Central issues” are too important for that.

He could pray for a loathsome and incurable disease to do the work, but that might be too late if the situation is as dire as Mr. Dionne says it is. Disease, even loathsome disease, usually takes its time.

So, if it’s not an election or disease, the country must wait for the Donald to become bored or tired of the job. That does not look likely. The man is clearly having a lot of fun, and that enrages Nice People like E.J. all the more..

Day Without Illegals Becomes a Political Dud

The much-ballyhooed “Day Without Immigrants” turned out to be a day without many protestors or any political impact, but with many Mexican flags, angry slogans, and a muted social-media response by amnesty advocates.

The Thursday turnout in most cities was few hundred protestors, despite some employers shutting their workplaces. But organizers did get a turnout of several thousand people in North Carolina and Chicago. NBC described the national turnout as merely “thousands,” despite an estimated population of roughly 11 million illegals.

In recognition of the low numbers, the response from pro-mass immigration politicians and activists was muted. Douglas Rivlin, Director of Communication for Democratic Illinois Rep. Luis Gutierrez, tweeted nothing about the marches. Neither did the National Immigration Forum. Linda Sarsour, Muslim organizer of the Women’s March, simply tweeted “solidarity.”

While there are panoramic photos of the two largest demonstrations in Chicago and Charlotte, N.C., photographs from the small demonstrations tend to be ground level and also close up. which allows the photographers to hide the small scale of a group from viewers.

Homeschoolers Revolt Against Republican School Choice Bill

Homeschooling families throughout the nation are voicing opposition to a Republican-sponsored school choice bill that they say will ultimately result in regulation of homeschooling in the United States.

Many parents who homeschool their children, as well as their numerous local and national homeschooling organizations, are protesting the bill, introduced by Iowa Rep. Steve King (R), and calling upon the members of Congress who are its sponsors to “leave homeschooling families alone.”

School vouchers created by H.R. 610, the Choices in Education Act of 2017, “would be a slippery slope toward more federal involvement and control in homeschooling,” asserts William Estrada, director of federal relations for the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA).

King’s bill would first repeal the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965. While many homeschoolers agree with the repeal of ESEA, the bill next would send all federal education funds to the states in the form of grants, which states would then distribute as vouchers to public, private, and homeschooled students.

Obamacare Subsidies Projected to More Than Double Over Next Decade

Spending on certain programs to increase from $42 billion to $97 billion

Subsidies for health insurance purchased through the marketplaces established under the Affordable Care Act are projected to more than double over the next decade, according to a report from the Congressional Budget Office.

The report, which evaluated spending for various means-tested programs or programs that offer benefits to those who earn income under a certain threshold, found that spending on Obamacare subsidies will total $42 billion in 2017 and are estimated to more than double to $97 billion by 2027.

In fiscal year 2016, payments for subsidies totaled $31 billion and, according to the budget office, payments will grow rapidly in 2017 and 2018 largely due to the growth in enrollment.

Police name four more suspects linked to Kim Jong Nam’s death

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Malaysia’s senior police official says they are looking for four more North Korean suspects who had left the country the same day the North Korean leader’s brother died after being attacked at the airport.

Malaysia’s deputy national police chief Noor Rashid Ibrahim identified all four at a news conference on Sunday. He also identified a fifth person of interest and showed photographs of two more North Koreans who were not identified by name but are also wanted by the government in connection with Kim Jong Nam’s apparent assassination on Monday.

Four people have been arrested, including two women, a boyfriend of one of them and a North Korean man.

Ibrahim said all the North Korean suspects traveled on regular, not diplomatic, passports. He refused to say where they flew, saying it’s a “sensitive” issue.

Chicago gang members say more police won't stop the murders

Rashad Britt grew up in the Henry Horner projects on Chicago’s West Side, known for gangs and violence. He started hanging out with the members of the Vice Lords gang for safety. “Just for protection…my friends-we gotta get to school. So, we got each other’s back on the way to school,” he says. “And sometimes, that meant carrying a gun and [being] willing to use it.”

His first gun was a gift, given to him as a pre-teen. “I looked at it like that was love. I looked at it like this person loved me, for the simple fact that they wanted to see me protected. They gave me something that was going to protect my life,” he says.

Last Monday, I met with a group of street guys on the West Side. They say the gangs provided structure that their parents did not. “Half of these guys don’t got no mom, either they was crack heads, dope fiends, boosters or something,” says a man who would only identify himself as a member of the Black Disciples.

“They moms or fathers was lost to the same gang that we getting ourselves into now.”

When President Obama’s National Security Advisor Lied, The Media Laughed

Buried deep beneath the Michael Flynn hysteria this week was Judicial Watch’s release of newly obtained State Department documents related to the Benghazi terrorist attack on September 11, 2012.

One email confirms—again—that the Obama administration knew the day after the attack it was not a random act of violence stemming from an anti-Muslim video. That was the excuse shamefully propagated by top Obama administration officials (including the president himself) and swallowed whole by a media establishment desperate to help Obama win re-election six weeks later.

According to the summary of a call on September 12, 2012 between State Department Under-Secretary Patrick Kennedy and several congressional staffers, Kennedy was asked if the attack came under cover of protest: “No this was a direct breaching attack,” he answered. Kennedy also denied the attack was coordinated with the protests in Cairo over the video: “Attack in Cairo was a demonstration. There were no weapons shown or used. A few cans of spray paint.”

It’s somewhat ironic—galling?—that this email was disclosed the same day the anti-Trump universe was spinning into the stratosphere over Flynn’s resignation as President Trump’s national security advisor. It begs for a little trip down memory lane, to a kinder, gentler time when the media gave a great big pass to another national security advisor in the days after four Americans, including an ambassador, were murdered in Libya by Islamic terrorists under her watch.

Obama-linked activists have a ‘training manual’ for protesting Trump

The Obama-tied activist group training tens of thousands of agitators to protest President Trump’s policies plans to hit Republican lawmakers supporting those policies even harder this week, when they return home for the congressional recess and hold town hall meetings and other functions.

FBI: No Charges Against Michael Flynn

Law enforcement officials told CNN on Friday that, “barring new information that changes what they know,” charges will not be recommended against former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn over his telephone conversations with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

Michael Flynn’s pre-inauguration calls to Kislyak became a controversy that ultimately resulted in his resignation, but even the final wave of media reports in the onslaught against him conceded that no illegal behavior occurred in the selected portions of his phone transcripts leaked to the media. Flynn’s defenders suspected the full transcripts were not leaked because they would prove he did nothing illegal. That suspicion appears confirmed by CNN’s report:

Flynn initially told investigators sanctions were not discussed. But FBI agents challenged him, asking if he was certain that was his answer. He said he didn’t remember.

The FBI interviewers believed Flynn was cooperative and provided truthful answers. Although Flynn didn’t remember all of what he talked about, they don’t believe he was intentionally misleading them, the officials say.

BLM protests ‘police terror’ after black teens arrested in racially motivated bus attacks

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – Six North Charleston High School students were arrested Thursday for racially motivated attacks on a school bus driver, fellow students, and police who responded to the scene.

North Charleston Police Department officials contend several students charged at them and ripped off body-worn cameras before they managed to subdue the teens.

Police responded the intersection of Dobson Street and Remount Road around 4 p.m. Thursday after a student kicked the 34-year-old white female bus driver while others cursed her out and demanded a “black bus driver,” the Post and Courier reports.

Other students were rough-housing during the commute by attacking passengers and pulling down their pants, the driver told police.

An officer requested identification from one of the instigators and the student was “tensing, pulling and pushing me,” the officer wrote in the police report.

“I attempted to deliver several knee strikes, which had no apparent effect,” the officer wrote.

A video of the altercation shows another student grab the officer during the struggle as the first student continued “violently resisting,” according to the report.

Eventually officers subdued the student outside of the bus, where a female student also got into the action.

The girl “charged” and “shoved” an officer before he pushed her away and drew his Taser, which quickly changed her attitude, according to the news site.

Left-Wing Columnists Throw Tantrum, Attack Bill Maher Over MILO Appearance

Left-wing columnists from a variety of media outlets have thrown their toys out of the pram in response to MILO’s appearance on “Real Time With Bill Maher” yesterday evening.

Daniel Holloway of The Chicago Tribune, attacked Maher for giving MILO the opportunity to “renew attacks on familiar targets,” despite the fact that Maher repeatedly challenged MILO on the show.

Yiannopoulos continued by repeating his assertion that Jones, who has been a writer and cast member on “Saturday Night Live” for four seasons, is “barely literate.” His claim went unchallenged by Maher.

Neal Broverman of The Advocate argued that Maher “crossed the line” by having MILO on the show, before criticizing the liberal commentators use of the word “fag.”

Mary Papenfuss of The Huffington Post, falsely labeling MILO a “white nationalist,” criticized Maher for allegedly letting MILO off easy for what she regards as his controversial stances on several issues.

After 8 Years of Campaigner-in-Chief Obama, NPR Accuses Trump of ‘Permanent Campaign’

After eight years of Barack Obama putting his office into permanent campaign mode while keeping his campaign machinery in constant operation, NPR is accusing Donald J. Trump of waging a “permanent campaign.”

In a February 17 article, NPR’s Ron Elving claimed that the American people are tired of presidential campaigns that last too long, but “Now, they are confronted with one that refuses to end — even after reaching the White House.”

Elving’s attack on Trump came in response to the President’s often combative February 15 press conference that the NPR Washington correspondent described with a simple “Wow.”

After noting the criticism of the presser published by various news outlets, Elving then complained that Trump used “I” or “me” or “the royal we” too often during his presentation.

Eight People Flee US Border Patrol to Seek Asylum in Canada

Eight asylum-seekers, including four children, barely made it across the Canadian border on Friday as a U.S. border patrol officer tried to stop them and a Reuters photographer captured the scene.

As a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officer seized their passports and questioned a man in the front passenger seat of a taxi that had pulled up to the border in Champlain, New York, four adults and four young children fled the cab and ran to Royal Canadian Mounted Police on the other side.

One by one they scrambled across the snowy gully separating the two countries. RCMP officers watching from the other side helped them up, lifting the younger children and asking a woman, who leaned on her fellow passenger as she walked, if she needed medical care.

The children looked back from where they had come as the U.S. officer held the first man, saying his papers needed to be verified.

The man turned to a pile of belongings and heaved pieces of luggage two at a time into the gully -- enormous wheeled suitcases, plastic shopping bags, a black backpack.

"Nobody cares about us," he told journalists. He said they were all from Sudan and had been living and working in Delaware for two years.

People seeking refugee status have been pouring over the Canada-U.S. border as the United States looks to tighten its policies on refugees and illegal immigrants.

U.S. Bishops Welcome Blocking of Trump Travel Ban

The temporary ban on immigration from seven Muslim countries is dead, at least for the time being, and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) couldn’t be happier.

Bishop Joe Vasquez of Austin, Texas, who is the USCCB’s chair of the Committee on Migration, issued a statement saying:

We welcome the decision of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. We respect the rule of law and the American judicial process. We remain steadfast in our commitment to resettling refugees and all those fleeing persecution. At this time, we remain particularly dedicated to ensuring that affected refugee and immigrant families are not separated and that they continue to be welcomed to our country. We will continue to welcome the newcomer as it is a vital part of our Catholic faith and an enduring element of our American values and tradition.

By ignoring the national security issues that this “refugee” influx poses, Vazquez’s statement was sadly typical of USCCB communiqués on immigration issues. He spoke about the Church’s “commitment to resettling refugees and all those fleeing persecution,” but about those refugees who are coming in order to persecute non-Muslims, Vazquez was silent.

Reality for Liberals Retread

Maybe it's time to face the music for Liberals. The facts are indisputable. Observe. For those who watch Fox or Fox Business, you'll be familiar with Brad Blakeman. He worked for former President George W. Bush and proud of his service to this country. Here are some words of wisdom for Liberals.

Ben Shares His Rally Experience In Salisbury

I was at the "rally" with my sign and after a while I realized why I had hesitated going and why I didn't stay the entire length.

1 - There is no simple solution and if your going to complain, listen and hopefully have a realistic solution.

2 - I was there because parts of the policies and the way they were done is not in line with what I learned to be law.

3 - Unlike some of the nasty comments I heard I don't not hate OUR President and I was appalled that someone could say "He's not mine". The results are in and if you don't like it go through the right channels and abide by the law.

4 - The people with signs that weren't related to what I thought the message was comprehend worst than anyone.

5 - I disliked the lines that were drawn and believe that I phrased my opinion clearly when I printed:

Equal-Fair-Balance IS ACHIEVABLE

Most importantly I thank everyone on all sides for being there. This is America and we are free to have our opinions and voice them. With realistic ways we can have our people better protected and hopefully a generation equal to my parents who knew how to work and produce can get even stronger.

As always thanks for listening and if you are in the area your very welcome to my home which as required is now out of city limits.

The Ag Paradox: Farm Incomes And Equipment Purchases Tank While John Deere's Stock Soars

Last week we wrote about the U.S Department of Agriculture's latest biannual report of farm incomes which painted a very bleak picture for the American farmer. In its first forecast for 2017, the USDA saw real farm cash receipts down 14% versus 2015 and 36% from the previous high set in 2012 as farm debt continued to soar and leverage surged to all-time highs.

Below is a summary of some of the key takeaways:

Real farm incomes in 2017 are expected to sink below 2010 levels which represents a 36% decline from the recent peak and a 14% decline since 2015.

HUGE Exclusive Interview With DHS Insider!

VL has been fortunate enough to work with some awesome people!  We have loyal and awakened followers who help bring us information, and we also have trusted insiders, whistleblowers and leakers who trust us enough to give us information, too.  Today, we have an exclusive interview with a special DHS insider who has answered some critical questions we have on PizzaGate.  Our insider prefers to call it PedoGate and what he told us blew our minds!
We are so fortunate that members of the Intel community like our work and feel they can trust us. We have been trying to get to the bottom of PizzaGate for months and the answers we got from our DHS insider stunned and shocked us. Here we go!

Q. So, in the Intelligence community, how chaotic is the atmosphere now?
A. In my 34 years of Governmental service, I have never seen anything like it.  It’s the bifurcation of the entire intelligence apparatus.
Q. It seems the intel community has it in for Trump – is this your feeling?
A. There are many Trump supporters within the FBI.  The CIA, however,  is against Trump because Trump threatens to ruin their game in the middle east.
Q. Can you elaborate?
A. CIA and Mossad work in tandem with British intel.  The goal for the CIA was to replace Assad with a puppet and to topple Iran so we could access their oil.  Israel works closely with it’s “sister”, Saudi Arabia, to help this dark cause.

Senate Blocks Obama Rule Denying Gun Rights to 'Mental Defective' Social Security Recipients

One of the last-minute regulations from the Obama administration sought to deny Americans receiving Supplemental Security Income or disability insurance their Second Amendment rights. The last administration decided that these folks, who have help managing their income with a designated payee, would automatically be determined to be "mental defectives" and put in the NICS database, thus prohibiting them from purchasing a firearm.

The Senate passed HJ Resolution 40, which reversed a last-minuteregulation established by the Social Security Administration in December 2016 that allowed the agency to give information to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) on recipients of disability insurance and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) if the government concluded they were mentally unstable.
