Making his first appearance in front of the cameras since his mugshot went viral, convicted felon Jeremy Meeks wore a bright orange jumpsuit, handcuffs and a stone-serious expression.
Meeks, who was arrested last month during a gang sweep in Stockton, Calif., faced multiple felony weapons charges. But during a brief court appearance in Stockton on Tuesday, the state agreed to turn the case — and Meeks — over to federal prosecutors, according to Sacramento’s KXTV. He is now in federal custody, the station reported, facing a single charge: “Felon in possession of a firearm.”
That one charge could lead to a prison term of 10 years and a fine of $250,000. San Joaquin County District Attorney spokesman Robert Himelblau said federal gun charges lead to longer prison sentences.

Blogger Hired to Defend Redskins’ Name Quits After Two Weeks
Three weeks ago, the Washington NFL team hired Democratic political consultant Ben Tribbett, well known in Virginia political circles for his “Not Larry Sabato” blog, to help the franchise defend its oft-criticized name.
Instead, Tribbet ended up defending himself, and last night tweeted his resignation after deciding that too much of the debate over the team’s name had focused on him. (Tribbett is also an occasional contributor to Washingtonian.)
“I don’t want to be a distraction to the team as the political attacks have shifted towards being personal towards me,” he wrote. “So I’m going to send in my resignation to the Redskins. Hopefully that allows debate to move back to where it should be.”

Here's How One Iraq Vet Dealt With Suicidal Thoughts And Turned His Life Around
Two years ago, I found myself in the bedroom of my apartment staring down the barrel of a shotgun. I was angry, depressed and just didn’t care about anything anymore.
It’s not that I didn’t want to care; I did, but was just unable to do it. My soul was crushed and my heart had been broken time after time during intense fighting in Iraq and the continuous loss of friends at home after.
In Iraq, I found it easier to give up than to care. But the problem was that once I stopped caring, I couldn’t turn the switch back on. It was like dropping a glass plate on the ground and then trying to put the pieces back together.
That evening, I didn’t pull the trigger. Obviously. This meant that I had proven that deep down I really did care and now I had only one option: to stop digging, throw down the shovel, and climb out of the hole I had nearly buried myself in. I started seeing VA counselors, going to groups, and taking prescription medication.

This Is What Happened When I Drove My Mercedes To Pick Up Food Stamps
Sara Bareillis played softly through the surround-sound speakers of my husband’s 2003 Mercedes Kompressor as I sat idling at a light. I’d never been to this church before, but I could see it from where I was, across from an old park, abandoned in the chilly September air. The clouds hung low as I pulled the sleek, pewter machine into the lot. But I wasn’t going to pray or attend services. I was picking up food stamps.
Even then, I couldn’t quite believe it. This wasn’t supposed to happen to people like me.

I grew up in a white, affluent suburb, where failure seemed harder than success. In college, I studied biology and journalism. I worked for good money at a local hospital, which afforded me the opportunity to network at journalism conferences. That’s how I landed my first news job as an associate producer in Hartford, Conn. I climbed the ladder quickly, free to work any hours in any location for any pay. I moved from market to market, always achieving a better title, a better salary. Succeeding.

Susan Sarandon: 'Who do I despise? The Bush regime'
What is your earliest memory?
I would have been about four years old and I was at home in Jackson Heights, New York, sitting on the steps, staring at the wall above the staircase and imagining I was seeing films.

What sort of a child were you?
I spoke very early and was very precocious in the way that little girls are when they’re the first child. I can remember my dad would make kites out of brown paper and we would fly them in the park across from our apartment building. One day the kite smashed and my father said my little chin was quivering, but I turned and said to him, ‘Don’t worry Daddy, it will be all right.’ I think that says a lot. You should be bursting into tears, not telling your father it will be all right.
What is the worst thing anyone has ever said to you?
In the lead up to the Iraq War someone called me an ‘American hating ****.’ I was with my son and it was in the middle of the day. I wasn’t even participating in anything political at the time – at least then you can expect things like that. It really caught me unawares.

Am I Completely Screwed If My Student Loan Co-Signer Dies?
Imagine this scenario: You’ve been out of college for several years, have a good job and you have no problems making your student loan payments in full and on time. Then tragedy hits; your parent dies or declares bankruptcy. If this loved one was a co-signer on your student loan, this change can trigger an often-overlooked clause that allows the lender to claim you are in default on your loan, potentially wreaking longterm havoc on your credit and finances.
With tuition rates outpacing inflation, a growing number of students have had to turn to student loans. Borrowers also increasingly took out private loans to make up difference that federal loans won’t cover. In order to obtain these loans or to minimize the interest rates, many private loans are co-signed by parents or other family members.
According to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, whose April 2014 report listed auto-defaults as a significant source of complaints from borrowers, nearly 90% of private student loans were co-signed in 2011.

Democrats Prepare to Defend Obamacare Rate Hikes
This fall, most states are expected to announce increases in 2015 health insurance premiums, and Democrats, aware of their vulnerabilities on Obamacare, are embarking on a damage control campaign to limit any potential fallout at the polls in November.
According to Politico, the White House's internal healthcare operation is gearing up to pre-empt GOP attacks on the issue, using a rapid response operation and a coordinated effort with the Democratic congressional leadership to provide localized analysis, data, and talking points to each state's delegation.
"One of the lessons we've learned in implementing healthcare is to stay on it," Tara McGuinness, the White House senior communications adviser who has been spearheading the effort for the West Wing, told Politico. "We are not going to let anyone distort the debate."
Roughly six aides are dedicated to the effort with the help of staff at the Department of Health and Human Services.

Captain Robert S. Craig Annual Boardwalk Swim & Ginny Craig Quarter Mile Boardwalk Swim
The Ocean City Beach Patrol will host the annual Boardwalk swim to honor Captain Robert Craig on July 12, 2014 at 6 p.m. on 14th Street and the Boardwalk. Competitors will swim a measured mile with the prevailing current to a finish line located at 14th Street and the beach. In addition to the annual one mile Boardwalk swim, the Ginny Craig quarter mile swim will take competitors on a 400m distance along the coast and also finish in the area of 14th Street and the beach.
Participants will compete under the watchful eye of surf rescue technicians deployed in the water, on the beach and in rescue boats. “This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in open-water swimming,” said Ocean City Beach Patrol Captain Butch Arbin. “The Ginny Craig quarter mile swim is a good training distance to work up to the Captain Craig mile swim. What is really special is the one mile swim can also qualify participants for the first annual “Swim Ocean City” event, which is a three mile event, in addition to a nine mile race.”
Police Investigate Seaford crash
Troopers are investigating a three-vehicle crash that occurred earlier this afternoon that sent three people to a local hospital.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:55 p.m. July 8 as Anna M. Collick, 50, of Laurel, was operating a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am northbound on Route 13 in the right lane approaching Sussex 20. A 2007 Dodge 2500 Sprinter van was stopped for a red light behind a 2013 Dodge Ram pickup truck in the right lane of US13 northbound when for unknown reasons, the Pontiac failed to stop in time and struck the rear of the Sprinter van, forcing the car to under-ride the van and push it into the rear of the pickup truck.
Anna Collick and her two passengers, one adult and one teenager, were all properly restrained and transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where they are being treated for non-lifethreatening injuries. Anna Collick was cited for inattentive driving, driving while suspended and revoked, no proof of insurance, and no registration in possession.
Michael J. Wilson, 34, of Elmer, N.J., was operating the Sprinter van and was uninjured in the collision.
Louis P. Vogler 3rd, 45, of Lebanon, N.H., was operating the Dodge Ram pickup and was uninjured in the crash.
The crash impacted already jammed traffic due to a gas leak in Seaford and was cleared within two hours.

She won't give up fight against teachers unions
MADISON, Wis. — Kristi Lacroix still is the unofficial voice of Wisconsin educators fed up with Wisconsin’s once all-controlling teachers union.
Lacroix, as a teacher at Kenosha’s Lakeview Technology Academy, was one of the relatively few educators who stood up for Gov. Scott Walker’s controversial public-sector collective bargaining reforms known as Act 10. Her support cost her during the height of big labor’s unprecedented but failed campaign to recall Walker in 2012.
Her job was threatened through an online movement billed as “Fire Kristi” in which some of her sharpest attackers pledged to ruin her career, her reputation, her life.
Lacroix has survived the slings and arrows of Act 10 opponents. She left the classroom last year to take a position as membership director for the Wisconsin branch of the Association of American Educators, which provides liability insurance and professional resources for educators, without collective bargaining and without political lobbying.
She’s traveling the state these days, working on grants and scholarships and letting teachers know that “there are alternatives and options as far as professional associations.”

HANNITY HOSTS EPIC BATTLE OVER ISLAM
Jamie Glazov of FrontPage Magazine, author of “United in Hate” and “Showdown with Evil,” is tired of being called “racist” or an “Islamophobe” for speaking out against the danger Islam poses to both Westerners and Muslims alike.
As WND reported, Glazov appeared last month in a panel discussion on Sean Hannity’s Fox News Channel program, in which fellow panel member Tamara Holder blasted Glazov as “a disgusting person” for claiming those who deny Islam’s role in jihad are complicit in perpetuating jihadist terror.
That kind of attack – labeling the champion of victims as the perpetrator instead – is exactly how the left operates, Glazov now explains.

City Of Chicago Ordered To Pay NRA’s Legal Fees – Again
The United States District Court in the Northern District of Illinois has ordered the City of Chicago to reimburse $940,000 in legal expenses incurred by the NRA. The NRA had challenged Chicago’s ban on gun sales within city limits in Benson v. City of Chicago. The Benson case was consolidated into Illinois Association of Firearm Retailers v. City of Chicago and that case challenged five aspects of Chicago’s law: (1) the ban on any form of carriage; (2) the ban on gun stores; (3) the ban on firing ranges; (4) the ban on self-defense in garages, porches, and yards; and (5) the ban on keeping more than one gun in an operable state.
This is the second time that the City of Chicago has been ordered to reimburse legal fees in a suit sponsored by the NRA. The first was following the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark ruling in McDonald v. City of Chicago in which Chicago was ordered to reimburse the NRA more than $600,000.

White House, DHS Ambiguous About Whether Illegal Immigrant Kids Will Be Deported
Days after the White House refused to give a definitive answer about whether most of the illegal immigrant children flooding across the U.S.-Mexico would be deported, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson also punted multiple times when asked on Sunday.
On Meet the Press, when host David Gregory asked Johnson if the illegal immigrants arriving from Central America will be sent back, Johnson responded with formulaic talking points.
"The law requires that, when DHS identifies somebody as a child, as an unaccompanied child, we turn them over to the Department of Health and Human Services," he said. "But there is a deportation proceeding that is commenced against the child. Now, that proceeding can take some time. And so we're looking at options, added flexibility, to deal with the children in particular, but in a humanitarian and fair way."

Pumpkins Will Fly Over Kent County
It's official. With a vote of 72-5 by its members, the World Championship Punkin Chunkin Association will take its event to Dover International Speedway in Kent County.
This is the fifth move since the event's humble 1986 start in Lewes as a competition among friends who were looking at ways to use leftover Halloween pumpkins.
John Huber, association president, said the new venue may allow an expansion of the event to more than one weekend. “We are working out the logistics, but we could move the event to two weekends,” he said, adding team and association members will have the final say on any expansion of the schedule.

Consumer Spending Slides In All Important June, Gallup Finds
It appears the hopes and dreams of a resurgence in US GDP in Q2 will have to be extended-and-pretended another quarter. As Gallup notes, Americans' self-reports of daily spending fell back in June, averaging $91 for the month - down notably from a six-year high of $98 in May - and flat to the $90 average found in June 2013. Not exactly the pent-up demand 'surge' so many economists (and Fed PhDs) have been calling for... Even more concerning, Gallup notes, the drop in daily spending among all Americans can largely be attributed to upper-income Americans spending less in June. Even the 1% are cutting back?
As Gallup notes,
This $91 figure for June suggests a mixed bag for the economy. While it represents a much higher level of consumer spending than the $60 to $70 averages found for much of 2009 to 2012, it also represents the first decline in the monthly average since January of this year.

"The Sandpiper": An Incredible Story
by Robert Peterson
She was six years old when I first met her on the beach near where I live.
I drive to this beach, a distance of three or four miles, whenever the world begins to close in on me. She was building a sand castle or something and looked up, her eyes as blue as the sea.
"Hello," she said.
I answered with a nod, not really in the mood to bother with a small child.
"I'm building," she said.
"I see that. What is it?" I asked, not really caring. "Oh, I don't know, I just like the feel of sand."
That sounds good, I thought, and slipped off my shoes.
A sandpiper glided by.
"That's a joy," the child said.
"It's a what?"
"It's a joy. My mama says sandpipers come to bring us joy."
The bird went gliding down the beach. Good-bye joy, I muttered to myself, hello pain, and turned to walk on. I was depressed, my life seemed completely out of balance.

THROUGH DELAWARE 2-1-1, GOVERNMENT AND NONPROFIT AGENCIES COORDINATING RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO RESIDENTS TO HELP COPE WITH HEAT EXTREMES
NEW CASTLE - To improve coordination of resources available to Delawareans who are vulnerable to the effects of heat extremes, a coalition of government and nonprofit agencies is working together to promote the availability of those services through Delaware 2-1-1.
Delaware residents who are vulnerable to extreme heat and are in need of services or supports - including seniors, people with disabilities and individuals with underlying medical conditions - are encouraged to call Delaware 2-1-1. Starting on Sunday, high temperatures are expected to be in the high 80s to low 90s all week.
The average temperature in Delaware has increased over the last 110-115 years, and the number of days with temperatures over 95 degrees and over 100 degrees is also increasing. That puts people who are vulnerable to those increased temperatures at greater risk for heat exhaustion, heat stroke, severe respiratory conditions and other heat-related illnesses.
"With the increasing frequency and duration of heat waves in Delaware, it's important that we connect vulnerable residents with critical services," Gov. Jack Markell said. "By using Delaware 2-1-1, government agencies at all levels - along with nonprofit organizations - can coordinate their efforts to better serve people in need."
Among the services that Delaware 2-1-1 can refer eligible callers to:
- Department of Health and Social Services' (DHSS) Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, which consists of Fuel Assistance, Crisis Assistance and the Summer Cooling Assistance Program. All programs are administered by DHSS' Division of State Service Centers. Fuel Assistance and Crisis Assistance are managed on a contractual basis through Catholic Charities, Inc.; the Summer Cooling Assistance Program is managed by First State Community Action Agency in Kent and Sussex counties and by Interfaith Community Housing of Delaware in New Castle County.
- Delaware Emergency Management Agency's (DEMA) protocols for extreme heat.
- City of Wilmington's Free Electric Fan Program for seniors.
- During extended periods of excessive heat, Sussex County will direct vulnerable residents to public libraries and/or other county facilities.
Teach boys how to be feminists to stop culture of abuse towards girls, says Labour
Schoolboys need to have lessons in feminism to help teach them out to treat women, Labour claims.
Compulsory sex education classes should be held in all schools to tackle the rise of sexist abuse fuelled by internet porn, Yvette Cooper said.
The shadow home secretary warned a culture is spreading in schools where girls are subject to verbal abuse and have their shirts undone and skirts lifted by boys who do not respect them.

Students demand Hillary Clinton return her $225,000 speaking fee
Hillary Rodham Clinton is defending the nearly quarter-million dollar fee she charges for speaking engagements at colleges and universities after students at one university demanded that she return the fee she collected for a speech she is slated to give in the fall.
Clinton responded to the criticism during an interview this week, saying that the enormous sums of money she's collected for speeches she's given over the last 18 months has gone towards her family's charity, The Clinton Foundation.
Clinton's wealth has been under scrutiny since an interview last month in which she described her family as 'dead broke' and in debt when husband Bill Clinton left the White House in January 2001.

Mom of SUV death baby's composure has investigators probing her role
Suspicions are growing about what role the wife of Justin Ross Harris may have played in the death of their 22-month-old son Cooper in the wake of her husband’s preliminary hearing on Thursday.
Leanna Harris has not yet been charged with any crime but a growing number of questions are being asked about her unusual behavior in the wake of young Cooper’s horrific death inside a sweltering SUV last month.
Harris, a 30-year-old dietitian, expressed little emotion throughout Thursday’s hearing, despite a number of shocking allegations including that her husband had been sexting with six different women, some teenagers, on the day their young son had passed away.

The American Religion of Violence
Laurence Vance has coined the word “warvangelical” to describe so-called evangelical Christians who are obsessed with supporting all of the state’s wars and all of the death, destruction, and mayhem that they entail. They ignore the ancient just war tradition of St. Thomas Aquinas, among others, and simply support all war and all military aggression – as long as the U.S. government is the aggressor.
These are the people who booed at Ron Paul when he reminded them at one of their conventions that Jesus is known as “the Prince of Peace.” These are the people who became quite hysterical (and hateful) when Ron Paul quoted the Biblical admonition, “live by the sword, die by the sword” in response to a question about a U.S. Army sniper who had written a book boasting of murdering hundreds of Iraqis after he was murdered after returning to civilian life.

Hillary Clinton Still Has Not Publicly Come To Terms With One Of The Greatest Errors Of Her Career
In wide-ranging remarks Monday afternoon at the Aspen Ideas Festival, which The Atlantic co-hosts, Hillary Rodham Clinton showed an impressive grasp of issues as varied as health care, Supreme Court jurisprudence, and international diplomacy.
One long anecdote concerned a high-stakes negotiation with the Chinese government over a dissident who wanted to defect to the United States. She spoke with ease, depth, and sophistication about the trade-offs the situation presented, as fine an example as could be imagined about the theme of her new book: "Hard Choices."
Clinton excels in an interview setting, where she can draw on varied experiences in two terms as an uncommonly engaged first lady, eight years as a U.S. senator, and a stint as secretary of state. The presumption that she'll run for president in 2016 is based in part on the correct judgment that her experience alone would make her a formidable candidate, whether one agrees or disagrees with her policy pronouncements, party or ideology.

Two illegal child immigrants now confirmed to have SWINE FLU in Texas
Border guards in Texas are on high alert after two child immigrants were confirmed to have swine flu following their interception trying to cross the border from Mexico.
The minors were diagnosed with the highly-contagious H1N1 virus on Friday at two separate military detention facilities in Brownsville, Texas.
Both centres, at Brownsville and nearby Fort Brown, were today on lockdown as border officials scrambled to contain a potential outbreak, placing some 120 people who came in contact with the juveniles in isolation.
It comes days after Texas officials renewed demands that the federal government take further steps to secure the border as waves of illegal immigrants are turning military bases into makeshift settlements.

Chesapeake Bay's Dead Zones Growing
WASHINGTON -- Each year scientists and natural resources mangers study the size and duration of so called "dead zones" in the Chesapeake Bay in an effort to figure out the impact on life in the Bay.
But the dead zones in the Chesapeake are growing. Scientists who predicted the increase aren't surprised. Tom Parmham, a scientist with the Maryland Department of a Natural Resources, says, "It's nothing to be alarmed about. It's slightly higher than average."
Dead zones are areas deprived of oxygen and that means crabs, fish, oysters and other Bay life can't survive there.
"Dead zones are caused by excessive nutrients from farms, sewage plants, fertilizer and sewage plants," says Parmham.

UNREAL: Feds Threaten Journalist With ARREST for Exposing Border Crisis
The United States is facing an“orchestrated” humanitarian crisis on our southern border, as tens of thousands of illegal immigrants are crossing the border in search of amnesty.
President Obama’s administration has made no effort to enforce border security laws, instead focusing on detaining the illegals and shipping them around the country. Fortunately, Texas, and numerous militia units, have stepped up with an emergency plan to secure the border on their own.
Unfortunately, censorship has become the unofficial rule and position of the federal government. A US Congressman was denied access to a facility housing illegal immigrants in his own district. Doctors and nurses treating the thousands of sick illegals are being forced to sign nondisclosure agreements, under threat of arrest, as are our Border Patrol agents.

Even Liberals Want Obamacare Employer Mandate Repealed
The unpopular, job-killing Obamacare provision that forces businesses with 50 or more employees to pick up the tab for workers' health insurance or face a hefty tax has now lost support from even liberals, Politico Magazine reported Sunday.
Liberals ranging from President Barack Obama's own former press secretary Robert Gibbs to the liberal Urban Institute and Commonwealth Fund say ditching the employer mandate makes sense and would reduce "distortions" in the labor market. Moreover, as they note, most large businesses already provide health insurance; the provision is only expected to increase coverage by 200,000 nationwide. Furthermore, Obamacare's employer mandate compliance requirements layer costly and onerous compliance hurdles on job creators.

Dems Declare Obama Presidential Outhouse Worse than Slavery
It’s a pity that the Democratic Party has lost touch with America that it doesn’t understand that mocking the authorities is what independence is all about.Instead of taking a joke, they lose their minds and begin screaming about racism.

A Fourth of July parade float that depicted a figure standing outside an outhouse labeled the “Obama Presidential Library”…
Not the funniest idea ever, but not a big deal either. In the past it would have been written off as a joke, but the past is past and now any mockery of Obama is racism.
“It’s definitely a personal issue for me,” Glory Kathurima calls the float racist. “This image and the words stamped across an outhouse were trying to equate the president, a black president with what you do in an outhouse.”
And? Why is that wrong? This is the US, not Kenya or North Korea. Mocking governments is legal here.

Despite 50 Years Of Progress, Morale Gap Among LGBT Workers Persists
Last week, in a White House ceremony marking LGBT pride month, President Barack Obama announced his administration was working on an executive order to formally extend workplace protections to transgender federal employees.
That was only the latest move in a series of efforts to expand the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender federal workers that have marked Obama's tenure in office.
After the Supreme Court invalidated key provisions of the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act, which had barred the federal government from recognizing any same-sex marriages, the Office of Personnel Management moved swiftly to rewrite regulations to open up more than 1,100 rights and benefits to LGBT employees and their families. Two years earlier, the Obama administration played a key role in ending the ban on openly gay troops in the military.

An immigrant surge en route to a Third World USA
This is the ‘fundamental transformation’ Obama promised
Maybe we’ve been conned. There’s a growing recognition that Barack Obama is an incompetent poser, working out of his depth, and his administration is the gang that can’t shoot straight. There’s a lot of evidence to support that belief.
Everything he touches becomes a bloody mess, like crushed bones and bits of flesh caught in the tracks of a tank slicing through a rank of soldiers (or civilians). Iraq, Syria, Egypt — all gone, as prospects for countries with a prosperous and democratic future. The “reset” with Russia, meant to ensure that America and the replacement republic of the old Soviet Union can be friends, is a reset, sure enough. The new Russia looks more like a reset to the Cold War, more adversary than friend, transformed by a feckless American president and an ambitious Russian leader eager to take advantage of weak and incompetent American leadership.

Maryland State Police Press Release 07/07/2014
AGGRESSIVE DOG FATALLY WOUNDED BY TROOPER IN CECIL CO.
(NORTH EAST, MD) – A large pit bull that had reportedly chased a woman into her home was fatally wounded by a responding state trooper after it charged the trooper this afternoon in Cecil County.
At about 2:30 p.m. today, two troopers from the North East Barrack responded to the unit-block of Plum Shore Road, North East, Md., for the report of an aggressive dog on the loose. When troopers arrived, the complainant told them she was trying to get to her car from her home when the dog charged at her growling and barking. The woman fled to the safety of her home before the dog reached her. The dog was known in the neighborhood and troopers were shown the house where it belonged.
Troopers responded to the unfenced home and received no answer at the front door. They checked the rear of the home and found a sliding glass door standing open and damage around the wooden door frame. Troopers could hear a television on inside the home. Fearing a burglary may be underway, troopers checked the residence and found no one inside.
As they left the residence, the troopers saw a large pit bull across the street, matching the description they had previously been given. The dog took an aggressive stance and then ran directly toward both troopers. The dog stopped about five feet away and was growling and barking viciously. The dog then lunged toward one of the troopers. In fear for his safety, the trooper fired his State Police issued .40 caliber pistol, fatally wounding the dog and ending the threat.
Maryland State Police investigators responded to the scene to conduct an investigation. They interviewed multiple residents in the area who were familiar with the dog and said it was frequently loose in the neighborhood and was aggressive.
Witnesses said the dog had charged toward them on previous occasions.
Cecil County Animal Control also responded to the scene. The investigation is continuing.
A Scary Obituary
In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh , had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior: "A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship."
"The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:
From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage."
The Obituary follows:
Born 1776, Died 2016 It doesn't hurt to read this several times. Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the last Presidential election: Number of States won by: Obama: 19 Romney: 29 Square miles of land won by: Obama: 580,000 Romney: 2,427,000 Population of counties won by: Obama: 127 million Romney: 143 million Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Obama: 13.2 Romney: 2.1
Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Romney won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.
Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low income tenements and living off various forms of government welfare..."
Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase..
If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal's - and they vote - then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

WHY NBC GOT RID OF THE FUNNIEST MAN ON LATE NIGHT TV
News is leaking out from Hollywood executives in-the-know that the Obama White House had been leaning on, pressuring executives at NBC for the last two years to replace Jay Leno because the comedian was criticizing President Obama every night. Obama didn't like it and considered it a racist attack on him.
Since his inauguration in Jan. 2009 Obama had enjoyed three years of very, very friendly routines from all the late night comics on ABC, CBS, and Leno at NBC - there was no criticism at all.
But after data came to light that $100's of millions had been spent on First Family vacations during a recession, Mrs. Obama's unpopular new laws that changed food in America's schools and other negative news including the disastrous Obamacare rollout & website mess, Jay Leno took his comedy to a different level and his ratings skyrocketed - none of the other comics were so bold.
THESE ONE-LINERS MIGHT BE THE PRIMARY REASON NBC GOT RID OF THE FUNNIEST MAN ON LATE NIGHT TV
Of course NBC was on board when Jay Leno went after Republican George W. Bush every night for 8 years but they couldn't stomach the fact that Leno's jokes about Obama were always right on target about the first black president... And left-leaning Democrat executives at NBC were being harassed by Obama himself who thought the comedy was a racist attack on him.
GOLDEN OLDIES FROM JAY:
"I was going to start off tonight with an Obama joke, but I don't want to get audited by the IRS."

Update On Immigrants
Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson says his department is gaining control over a surge of illegal immigrants on the Mexican border. But he is non-committal on whether many of the unaccompanied children will be returned to their home countries. Johnson tells NBC news, DHS officials have cut the deportation decisions from 33 days to four days. But he says a different process is needed for minors. He blames the poor conditions in Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador as the main cause of the immigration surge. A top military commander tells DefenseOne, the immigrant surge is an existential threat to the United States. Marine Corps Gen. John Kelly, head of Central Command, asks Congress for more money, drones and ships. He says they're needed to help stem the flow of drugs, weapons and immigrants from Central America.
Army Could Lose 140,000 Troops Over The Next Few Years
The Army paints a dire economic picture if it has to make worst-case reductions in force. The Environmental Command says local bases and surrounding communities would lose up to 80 percent of their civilian and military workforces. The Army is facing a possible reduction of 140,000 troops over the next few years. That could cost 16,000 jobs at Fort Campbell and an economic hit of nearly $900 million in Kentucky and Tennessee. Reductions at Fort Drum in New York would result in a $877 million loss. The projected losses double what the Environmental Command predicted last year.
