Troopers Investigate Armed Robbery in Miller Road Home Depot Parking Lot

Wilmington - Troopers are investigating the armed robbery of a 70 year old man that occurred in the parking lot of a Home Depot store, yesterday morning.

The incident occurred on Monday, July 7, 2014 at approximately 5:20 a.m. as the 70 year old male victim was in the parking lot near the entrance doors to the Home Depot store located at 3600 Miller Road, Wilmington. The elderly male was confronted by 2 male suspects, with 1 of the suspects producing a semiautomatic hand gun, demanding money and property. The second suspect rifled through the victim’s pockets and removed his wallet containing an undisclosed amount of cash and personal property. The suspects fled the area on foot. There were no injuries as a result of this incident.

The suspects are described as 2 black males, 28-30 years of age, 5’07”-5’10” tall 160-170 lbs, thin build. The suspects were last seen wearing dark clothing. At least 1 suspect was armed with a semiautomatic handgun. No further physical or clothing description available. No surveillance photos available at this time.

Troopers continue to investigate this incident.
