SHERIFF JOE TO OBAMA: LET'S MEET 'MAN TO MAN' TO DISCUSS IMMIGRATION

Defiant and reflective, 80-year-old Maricopa County, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio told Breitbart News after winning re-election that he has a message for President Barack Obama: granting amnesty to illegal immigrants is unfair to legal immigrants.

And Arpaio would like to discuss amnesty -- along with border security issues -- with Obama “man to man” directly at the White House. He would also like to reach out to Hispanic groups he said have misunderstood his intentions and bought into the negative “propaganda” about him.

“I wish the president would invite me to the White House,” Arpaio told Breitbart News. “We’ll have some wine and beer, and light up cigars.”

High School Hockey Teams Told to Dump National Anthem

Nearly 200 high school hockey teams in Pennsylvania have been advised to eliminate the national anthem because it takes too much time to perform and costs too much money.

“We are recommending the national anthem not be played or sung or whatever it is,” Ed Sam, commissioner of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League told Fox News. “It has absolutely nothing to do with patriotism at all. That’s the furthest thing from the truth.”
Schools were notified of the directive in an email from the PIHL. He said teams are only allotted a certain amount of time to play matches.

OBAMA’S INTERIOR SECRETARY THREATENS COLORADO SPRINGS REPORTER: ‘I’LL PUNCH YOU OUT’

Last week, during an Election Day event supporting President Barack Obama in Fountain, Colo., U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar threatened a local reporter following a seemingly routine interview.
“If you set me up like this again, I’ll punch you out,” Salazar told Colorado Springs Gazette reporter Dave Phillips.
In an email to TheBlaze, U.S. Department of Interior spokesman Blake Androff confirmed that the altercation occurred. “The secretary regrets the exchange,” he wrote. The official did not provide any additional details.

Rumors of O’Malley Presidential Run Now Intensifying

In supporting same-sex marriage and the DREAM Act, state voters may have provided Gov. Martin O’Malley the political fodder he needs to thrust himself into the running for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016.
Talks of his aspirations for higher office have echoed throughout the state for months, if not years. But with Maryland making national headlines on Election Day by embracing major Democratic initiatives at the ballot box, the party need look no further than O’Malley for a progressive icon to carry the torch in 2016, experts say.

With two years left in his second term — meaning he can’t run again in 2014 — O’Malley may be “laying the groundwork” for a presidential run, said marketing professor Hank Boyd. Between becoming the first state to uphold same-sex marriage on the ballot and passing the DREAM Act, which enables undocumented students to pay in-state tuition if they meet a set of requirements, O’Malley has boosted his stock as a presidential candidate.

OBAMA HOLDS RECORD FOR FOUR LARGEST DEFICITS IN U.S. HISTORY

In this corner, the challenger, representing the responsible adult who tries to balance his checkbook every month and to save money for his/her children so their future will be safe: The American Taxpayer!

And in this corner, the undefeated champion, representing the height of fiscal irresponsibility, the man who has presided over an unbelievable, unprecedented four straight years of the highest four national deficits in U.S. history; the man who will assure your children that their future has been stolen by their parents, the President of your United States: Barack Obama!
Okay, you two, come out fighting. And no low blows.

Jackson: Black Voters Deserve A Return On Election ‘Investment’

The Rev. Jesse Jackson on Saturday said that President Obama’s reelection was “a great victory,” but that it would be incomplete with a reconstruction of urban America and an investment in the communities where the blacks who voted overwhelmingly for the president live.
“We’re happy and full of pride,” in the president’s reelection, Jackson told the crowd at the Saturday morning forum at Rainbow/PUSH headquarters, 930 E. 50th St., “but our houses remain raggedy … our schools remain closed.”
Despite attempts at voter suppression in states such as Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida, Jackson said, blacks turned out en masse to vote, enduring waits that stretched into hours in many places. “We waited, we voted, we believed,” Jackson said. “Now we want to get well.

DID OBAMA REALLY WIN?

The question must be asked. I wish I didn’t have to be the one to ask it. But, since no one else will, it falls to me.
Did Barack Obama actually, legitimately, fairly and legally win the election?
My answer is an unequivocal no.
It was not a free and fair election. In fact, if we as a nation don’t acknowledge the reality of what I am saying, we may never have a free and fair election again in the future of this once-great nation.
Here are some facts to consider:
  • The Obama campaign accepted at least some foreign campaign cash – willingly and knowingly. The campaign website could have prohibited it. It did not. In other words, it deliberately left open the door for illegal foreign contributions in its “by any means necessary” quest for re-election. WND has proven that by actually contributing under the name Osama bin Laden from a Pakistani IP address, with a phony physical address and other neon-lit red flags in hopes of catching attention. Obama accepted illegal foreign contributions in 2008 without penalty, so why would anyone expect him not to repeat his crime in 2012? No one can know the extent of the fraud, because Obama has refused to release the identity of donors of $200 or less – yet he boasts that most of the money he collected was in small amounts.

Pelosi to stay mum on her plans for the 113th Congress until Wednesday

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi won't reveal her plans for the future before meeting with the Democrats in her caucus on Wednesday, she emphasized over the weekend.

The California liberal has dropped no hints about her future in the leadership, stirring waves of speculation she might step down after a decade atop the party — the longest run since the legendary Rep. Sam Rayburn (D-Texas) died in office in 1961.
That silence will endure at least until Wednesday, she said on Sunday, putting a damper on theories that she might make an announcement at a Capitol press conference she's scheduled for Tuesday.

State Dept.: Give Syria ‘Time and Space’--and $34 Million More in Aid

At a briefing on Friday at the State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland told reporters that the United States should give the Syrian National Council “time and space” to form a government that would replace the Bashar Hafez al-Assad regime.
At the same briefing Nuland announced the U.S. has increased its “humanitarian” aid to Syria by $34 million or $165 million in total.
Nuland was responding to a reporter’s question about the council meeting in Doha, Qatar over the weekend to determine who will be included in the opposition government and the role the U.S. is playing.

But, companies can potentially avoid being subject to Obamacare's insurance requirements by limiting employees’ weekly hours to less than the 30 hour level defined by Obamacare as “full-time.”

Lt. Gov. Brown Speaks At NAACP Banquet

CAMBRIDGE — Speakers celebrated the re-election of President Barack Obama, reminded younger generations of past civil rights’ struggles and, in the case of keynote speaker Lt. Gov. Anthony G. Brown, did what seemed like a little gubernatorial stumping here Saturday during the annual Dorchester County NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet.

The Dorchester NAACP also presented its annual community service award to the Harriet Tubman Organization, represented by HTO President Donald Pinder, who recalled the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. being asked when a black man might be elected president of the United States.
Pinder said Dr. King suggested that it would take around 40 years for racial prejudice to subside before the U.S. would be ready to elect a black man as president, adding, “He was right about on target — not once but twice.”

“The Chamber is certainly hopeful that we can get it done within the year,” Chamber Senior Vice President Randy Johnson told The Hill. “It’s always been important to the Chamber and it will be a priority for us.”

CBS Contributor: White People Don't Like Abortion Because They Want to "Build Up the Race"

Congress Returns For A Lame-Duck Session

Congress returns this week for a lame-duck session and Republicans are openly acknowledging they have a much weaker hand post-election.

One of the top Conservative thinkers, the Weekly Standard's Bill Kristol, criticized his party on Sunday morning for its obsession with defending tax cuts for the rich. Kristol advised Republicans to take President Obama's deal to immediately pass a tax cut extension for 98% of Americans while allowing the top tax rate on the richest 2% to go up. Kristol said, "It won't kill the country if Republicans raise taxes a little bit on millionaires...the Republican party is gonna fall on its sword to defend a bunch of millionaires, half of whom voted Democratic, and half of whom live in Hollywood and are hostile to Republicans?" Kristol is right – though he's forgetting the pledge of allegiance the Republican Party has sworn to anti-tax master and millionaire K-Street lobbyist Grover Norquist. But if Democrats hold firm and let everyone's taxes go up after January 1st, then Norquist's pledge is irrelevant and Republicans won't have a choice but to extend tax cuts for the middle class.

Everyone needs to keep an eye on what happens over the next few weeks. And Democrats in particular need to remember they have the upper hand in this fight and they should not compromise on their principles. That means no grand bargain that shreds Social Security, Medicare, and social welfare programs for the poor. As President Franklin Roosevelt said in 1940, "the Democratic Party has received the support of the electorate only when the party, with absolute clarity, has been the champion of progressive and liberal policies and principles of government." It's time for the Democrats to be that Party again.

New Low For Flying? Standing Room Only Flights Possible

The term “jetsetters” is still applied to travelers heading to chic, exciting places. But by now, after years of enduring countless fees, painfully long airport waits, and humiliation by way of clothing removal and body scans, travelers should know that the era when flying equated to glamour is long gone.
But if you’re not thoroughly disillusioned with the modern-day flying experience, Michael O’Leary, the blunt-speaking CEO of cheapo European carrier Ryanair, would like to have a word. O’Leary is known for saying and doing outrageous things—calling his customers “idiots,” for instance, and considering the introduction of pay toilets on planes and in-flight porn as money makers for the airline.

Oil Industry Tax Breaks Face The ‘Fiscal Cliff’

The oil industry’s long record of success in defending its tax breaks faces new tests as lawmakers and the White House negotiate to avoid the “fiscal cliff.”
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) won’t rule out targeting oil-industry deductions in a broad deal to avoid the higher income tax rates and deep automatic spending cuts set to take effect in 2013.
“The details will have to be negotiated. Not going to speculate on what a final package may look like,” Boehner spokesman Kevin Smith told The Hill.

U.S. Expected To Become World’s Top Oil Producer By 2020

The United States will become the world’s largest oil producer by around 2020, temporarily overtaking Saudi Arabia, as new exploration technologies help find more resources, the International Energy Agency forecast on Monday.
In its World Energy Outlook, the energy watchdog also predicted that greater oil and natural gas production — thanks partly to a boom in shale gas output — as well as more efficient use of energy will allow the U.S., which now imports around 20 percent of its energy needs, to become nearly self-sufficient around 2035.

The Unemployment Report Wasn’t Rigged, But It’s Not Accurate, Either

On Oct. 5, the Bureau of Labor Statistics announced that the official unemployment rate had dropped from 8.1% to 7.8% — a surprisingly sharp decline given the slow pace of growth in the U.S. economy. The reaction from many on the right was incredulity, with some even suggesting that political appointees in the Obama Administration had tampered with the Labor Department’s report to give the President a political boost in the final weeks of the election. Although these conspiracy theorists were dismissed by pundits on both the left and the right, that’s where agreement on the report ended. Conservatives have long argued that the official unemployment rate understates the sluggishness of the economy and that much of the decline in the rate is a result of people giving up their job searches and dropping out of the labor force entirely. Supporters of the President say the decline in the number of workers in the labor force is caused by the aging of the workforce — as our nation gets older, there will naturally be a larger portion of the population that is retired.

MORE CALIFORNIANS WILL FLEE STATE AFTER RECENT TAX INCREASES

California Gov. Jerry Brown on Sunday said California would start a tax-increase wave across the nation, but recent history suggests California's tax increases will only accelerate the number of people who will leave California to other states with better tax climates.

When asked whether California was going to start a "tax-increase sweep" across the nation on CNN's "State of the Union," Brown agreed.
He said more people nationally will have to "share" more of the wealth they "extracted" to fund "collective" government.

More Women Have Driver's Licenses Than Men in US

Women have passed men on the nation's roads. More women than men now have driver's licenses, a reversal of a longtime gender gap behind the wheel that transportation researchers say is likely to have safety and economic implications.

If current trends continue, the gap will only widen. The share of teens and young adults of both sexes with driver's licenses is declining, but the decline is greater for young men, according to a study by the University of Michigan's Transportation Research Institute. The study looked at gender trends in driver's licenses between 1995 and 2010.

"The changing gender demographics will have major implications on the extent and nature of vehicle demand, energy consumption, and road safety," predicted Michael Sivak, co-author of the study. Women are more likely than men to purchase smaller, safer and more fuel-efficient cars; to drive less, and to have a lower fatality rate per distance driven, he said.

Best Inventions Of The Year 2012

That’s not Photoshop. The Dutch artist Berndnaut Smilde has developed a way to create a small, perfect white cloud in the middle of a room. It requires meticulous planning: the temperature, humidity and lighting all have to be just so. Once everything is ready, Smilde summons the cloud out of the air using a fog machine. It lasts only moments, but the effect is dramatic and strangely moving. It evokes both the surrealism of Magritte and the classical beauty of the old masters while reminding us of the ephemerality of art and nature.

A Comment Worthy Of A Post

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "UPS Ends Grants to Boy Scouts Over Discrimination":

The Boy Scouts aren't discriminating against gays. Gays flocked to the Boy Scouts like flies on crap so they could get off on being around young boys and be in a more easier situation to molest them. Just like gays flocked to the priesthood so no one would be suspious that they weren't married and also so parents would tend to trust them.

Maryland To Release New Hospital Breast-Feeding Policies

A new set of state policy recommendations for lactation programs at Maryland hospitals will encourage hospitals to promote breast-feeding, rather than the use of infant formula, when possible.
State health officials plan to announce the new policy Tuesday morning at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville. Details of the state’s recommendations won’t be available until then, but the policy will establish a model for hospital lactation programs that resembles World Health Organization’s Baby-Friendly status program, according to a statement from the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. The Baby-Friendly status designates hospitals that agree to policy changes that promote breast-feeding. That includes no longer accepting free formula from companies and giving samples out to mothers only if they request them.
The state will be asking hospitals to review their lactation policies and establish a plan for either adopting Maryland’s new recommendations or seeking Baby-Friendly status.

On Sunday October 28, 2012, an officer with Ocean View Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Jake N. Fox and Heidi M. Hitchens and upon making a computer inquiry on the two, discovered they were both wanted.  A subsequent search of the couple’s car revealed items that were reported stolen from the local area.  Detectives from Troop 4 in Georgetown were contacted to assist in the investigation due to much of the area where the thefts occurred were outside the Ocean View limits.

Link Between Wealth And Suicide Rates

Researchers have long been fascinated by the idea that people who spend too much time "keeping up with the Joneses" are only increasing their likelihood of suicide.
For the first time, there's concrete evidence to back up the theory.
Researchers from the San Francisco Federal Reserve found people who earn 10 percent less than their neighbors are 4.5 percent more likely to commit suicide.
While the effect was seen among high-earning individuals, the most vulnerable to this phenomenon are low-income people living amongst the wealthy.
Here are some of the financial factors that contribute to suicide:

Obama / Unions

President Barack Obama is holding meetings this week with CEOs and labor-union leaders alike. The subject: the fiscal cliff. Obama is trying to build pressure on Congress to cut the federal debt by both raising taxes and trimming spending. He's invited leaders of the nation's biggest unions to the White House today. Tomorrow, he'll welcome business executives, many of whom supported his GOP rival Mitt Romney. Those meetings set the stage for Friday, when he'll meet with the top Republicans and Democrats in Congress to discuss ways to avert sequestration.

More Investigations

Marine Corps Gen. John Allen, commander of forces in Afghanistan, is the latest leader to come under investigation. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said Pentagon investigators are looking at 30,000 pages of emails between Allen and Jill Kelley. Kelley is the so-called social liaison who is said to have received threatening emails from Paula Broadwell. Broadwell is the biographer who had an extramarital affair with CIA Director David Petraeus, who resigned Friday. Petraeus preceded Allen as commander of forces in Afghanistan. Sources would not tell the Associated Press the nature of the emails between Allen and Kelley. Allen's nomination to be commander of U.S. European Command of NATO forces in Europe is on hold.

Male Alcoholics Hear Words, Not Emotion

Male alcoholics appear to have a great deal of difficulty recognizing emotions in verbal language, a small European study suggests. The researchers also found that the men have a weakened ability to show empathy.
Because empathy plays a key role in interpersonal relationships, an empathy deficit might explain part of the wider relationship problems commonly seen in alcoholics, said study author Simona Amenta, a psychology researcher at the University of Milano-Bicocca.

FBI Obsessed Over Petraeus

The FBI agent looking into emails between female acquaintances of former CIA chief David Petraeus became obsessed with the case. So much so, he was barred from working on it last summer. The Wall Street Journal reports, the agent continued anyway, blabbing details to members of Congress. The Journal's sources would not name the agent. The agent was familiar with Jill Kelley, the recipient of e-mails from Petraeus mistress Paula Broadwell. The agent emailed shirtless pictures of himself to Kelley, according to the Journal.

Man Stuck Without Power During Hurricane Sandy MacGyvers His Prius To Provide Power

Many people who lost power on the East Coast during Hurricane Sandy were lucky enough to have access to electric generators. But for those who weren’t so fortunate, it was either remain in the dark or, in the case of one MacGyver of a man, figure out how to power your home using a hybrid car.

Bob lives in Paramus and had bought the Toyota Prius Hybrid last June to save on gas, reports NBC 4 New York. For a week after the storm, he was able to power some lights and electronics chargers with the aid of a few heavy-duty extension cords and a 100-watt power inverter plugged into his car’s lighter outlet. Once he figured that out, he upgraded to a 300-watt inverter to power his entire home — all on three-quarters of a tank of gas.

Don't Wear Your Hats & Tee Shirts Just Yet

It's OK to wear that Obama cap now or even a Romney T-shirt. The Office of Special Counselsaid that doesn't violate the Hatch Act. The election isn't over, technically, until the president is sworn in. But the office said it was so unlikely than any political maneuvering would change the election outcome now that it was OK for feds to bring their political paraphernalia out of the closet. That only goes so far, though. Feds still can't display items that show support or opposition for any political party.

Obama Evader

Obama answers questions about the CFR and Patriot Act ... In this video, Obama says that he sees no evidence towards a continental government, yet in other videos he has stated ... "world order that I think we'd all like to see." – YouTube

Dominant Social Theme: All of this conspiracy talk is paranoid and unproductive.

Free-Market Analysis: Thank goodness for the Internet. Even if you are an Obama supporter, this 2008 video should shock you. In it, Obama sidesteps questions about his membership in the elitist Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and professes to be profoundly troubled by then-President George W. Bush's executive orders reducing US constitutional freedoms.

Today, we know that Obama did nothing to defend US civil liberties once he was put in office. Not only did he not reduce George Bush's most invasive executive orders, he added to them. Notably, Obama created a list of US citizens that his administration believes pose an imminent threat to the nation and should be assassinated via drone targeting if possible.
