MAURICE JAMES SENTENCED TO LIFE FOR ATTEMPTED FIRST DEGREE RAPE


On November 9, 2012, The Honorable Leah J. Seaton sentenced Maurice James, age 20,
of Salisbury, Wicomico County, Maryland, to Life imprisonment after a Wicomico County jury
convicted  James of  attempted first degree rape, attempted second degree rape,  third degree
sexual offense, second degree assault, reckless endangerment and false imprisonment on August
15, 2012.

  1. We need a lot more judges like this. Do the crime, do the time. No early release, a sentence is a sentence of punishment and should be carried out to the last day or death, which ever comes first.

  2. wow. not that he didn't deserve this because what he did was wrong. but i went to highschool with this kid.. how sad and difficult for me to believe.

  3. A stiff sentence will lend itself to an appeal.She SHOULD HAVE given him a guaranteed 25 years.Now he'll be out in 5.

  4. Great job by all concerned. Where was SU support for the victim? She got no support from the university and lost her scholarship to boot for having to take time off from school due to the trauma of the attack. Way to go SU......you showed your true colors here!
