"We're Screwed": The Worst Months For Both Renters And Landlords Still Lie Ahead

Rent has barely trickled in across the U.S. over the last couple months as the country continues to grapple with a decimated economy as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The only reason that many landlords have not gone belly-up alongside of their respective tenants has been due to the emergency "relief" provided by the government in the form of relentlessly printing, handing out and destroying the U.S. dollar.

Now, with further emergency funding still up in the air and eviction moratoriums about to expire, an ugly picture is starting to emerge for both renters and their landlords. In fact, Bloomberg predicts that the "worst is yet to come".

33% of renters didn't make their full payment in the first week of July, a recent survey showed. This means that 12 million renters could face eviction over the next four months. In places like New York and Houston, more than 20% of renters say they have "no confidence" in their ability to pay rent next month.

US Beach Towns Fear Collapse As Summer Of Pandemic Causes Havoc

The executive director of the Bethany-Fenwick Chamber of Commerce, Lauren Weaver, told USA Today that "our businesses (located on the southern tip of the Delmarva Peninsula) have 12 weeks to make money to survive the rest of the year... sales for the town's 75 or so beach-district merchants are down 40% to 70% compared with a year ago."

Weaver warned: "A lot of them are not going to survive" this season.

Bethany-Fenwick is an upscale beach community, home to wealthy elites, such as Joe Biden.

The virus pandemic has made it challenging for local businesses to operate, many of whom only make money during the summer months.

Down the street, about 20 minutes south, revenue for businesses in Ocean City, Maryland, is down 20% to 25%, said Susan Jones, head of the Ocean City Hotel-Motel-Restaurant Association.

Jones said the city's decision to reopen beaches in early May despite the virus pandemic helped businesses survive. She said this year is a not a profitability story, but rather a breakeven story.

Back to Rehoboth and Dewey Beaches, which are a string of beach towns that generate more than $3.5 billion in annual revenue, according to Southern Delaware Tourism. Much of the area is dependent on travel and tourism.

A Joe Biden presidency would be a disaster for our schools: Devine

Joe Biden sent his own children to an elite private school, and parades as the Black Lives Matter candidate, yet his policies are openly hostile to the educational choices that offer the best chance for minority advancement.

The Biden-Bernie Sanders “unity” policy platform aims a dagger at charter schools, insisting they “undermine the many extraordinary public schools in this country.”

It targets “for profit” charter schools for destruction, while strangling the rest with demands for “accountability.”

It calls for accepting a labyrinth of red-tape, ideological intrusion into the curriculum, ending “high stakes” testing, mandating teacher “diversity” and restricting discipline procedures.

What is it with Democrats and their hostility to schools that offer poor minority kids the best ticket out of generational poverty and disadvantage?

Biden made his views clear at a public-education forum last December when he said if he becomes president, charter schools “are gone.”

“Charter does not mean better,” says his manifesto.

What the Silence Over Bill's Alleged Visit to Epstein's Pedophile Island Tells us About the Acela Media

In VIP, we noted how Bill Clinton is earning his “slick Willy” moniker regarding the latest bombshell from the trove of Jeffrey Epstein-Ghislaine Maxwell documents that unsealed last week. That being former President Bill Clinton being spotted on Epstein’s infamous pedophile island. Of course, the Clinton camp denies the former president was ever there, but Maxwell has alleged that there are tapes of two prominent politicians having sex with minors. Maxwell, Epstein’s alleged partner in coordinating these depraved sex acts with underage girls, was recently arrested by federal authorities, denied bail, and being held in the same federal facility as Epstein before his highly suspicious suicide. With three passports and numerous accounts with millions of dollars, she’s a flight risk. She’s reportedly been given paper clothes to prevent self-harm.

Attkisson v. Holder: The Government Spied on Me and Now is Hiding the Guilty Parties

At least once a day, I find myself taking a breath and silently marveling over the outrageous fact that the Department of Justice continues to fight my computer intrusion case in court. They are spending your tax money to protect the guilty parties rather than hold them accountable. This is the opposite of what they and our justice system are supposed to do. They have not changed their obstruction and obfuscation over the seven years spanning this fight -- no matter the facts.

They don’t have to. They have the upper hand. Realistically, there’s not much of a damn thing a citizen like me can do about it. My attorneys and I have expansive, independent forensic proof of the intrusions. We have a government deposition admitting the government controlled the internet protocol (IP) addresses involved. We now even have one of the agents involved admitting what he did and naming names.

But the Department of Justice has something far more crucial than evidence and facts. It has an unlimited flow of money, a grip on the information about the illegal operation, and the absolute power to protect rather than prosecute the guilty agents.

Obviously, the illegal infiltration of a national investigative journalist’s computer system, and the system of the network and corporation where she worked is a major story and an issue with important First Amendment and Fourth Amendment implications. Back when this all happened, the FBI opened a computer intrusion case listing me as the victim. But to this day, nobody from the FBI has made an attempt to contact me (the “victim”) to investigate or assist. They have a case yet are unconcerned with providing justice. (I only learned about the existence of the FBI case about my computer intrusions when I sued the FBI for improperly withholding information from me.)

NFL: Now the No Freedom League

I grew up in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, before they had satellite TV. As such, on the Monday after the Super Bowl, everyone on the entire base would try to get through the day without knowing who had won the game. That night, after a tape of the game had been flown down from the U.S., we'd watch the game and be riveted to our TVs. The military TV stations weren't allowed to show private commercials, so we would all greet a Pepsi or McDonalds commercial that might slip by the censors with wondrous applause. The NFL was my passion, along with my sainted Dolphins, with Gods Bob Griese and Dan Marino at the helm.

Today, however, I doubt I'll watch another NFL game, and I most certainly won't spend a penny on NFL merchandise.

Why? It's simple. The NFL, helmed by men who are ostensibly some of the smartest businessmen in America, literally helped bring America to the brink of revolution, maybe even led the way. We're talking about Kaepernick and Black Lives Matter.

The NFL, and to a lesser degree MLB and the NBA, used to be oases from which all Americans could seek refuge from the slings and arrows of daily life. Monday at the office used to be "Did you see that catch?" or "The zebras blew another one!" Since Kaepernick started his grandstanding, however, the conversations became more about who was kneeling, what star was lecturing America about this grievance or that, and ceased to be about the excitement or pain or joy of the actual games.

In a sad irony, Charlie Daniels once wrote an anthem called "In America" where he used an NFL team to demonstrate Americans' unity.

COVID-19: Sorry, but we were never 'In This Together'

Female mud-wrestling cage match: Joe Biden's delayed VP announcement has all the candidates at each other's throats

Apparently, Democrats just can't play nice — even with each other.

According to this report in the Washington Post, Joe Biden's inability to make up his mind about whom he wants as his running mate is prompting some female mud-wrestling in the slop pit of contenders:

Presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden has extended his vice-presidential search by as much as two weeks, intensifying the jockeying and lobbying between allies of the women who hope to join his White House. Even some longtime Biden allies worry the process has become "messier than it should be," pitting women, especially Black women, against one another.

The dynamic threatens to undermine Biden's effort to use the vice-presidential search to spotlight some of the party's brightest female stars during the highly public vetting process. And it's already providing President Trump's campaign an opening to dig up dirt and launch attacks on potential rivals.

CDC Director Urges Schools To Reopen In ‘Public Health Interest’

The head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says schools should reopen in the fall, declaring it is in the “public health interest” to reopen.

“I don’t think I can emphasize it enough as the director for the Centers for Disease Control, the leading public health agency in the world — it is in the public health interest that these K through 12 students to get the schools back open for face-to-face learning,” Dr. Robert Redfield on Friday told lawmakers with the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis.

Redfield said children, who are at very low risk for complications from COVID-19, said it important for mental health.

“I want these kids back in school,” he said. “I want it done smartly but I think we have to be honest that the public health and interest of the students in the nation right now is to get a quality education and face-to-face learning. We need to get on with it.”

Virginia judge imposes injunction barring removal of Robert E. Lee statue

The statue stands 21 feet and weighs around 12 tons

A circuit court judge in Virginia Monday imposed an injunction barring the state from dismantling a 21-foot-high statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee in Richmond.

Richmond Circuit Court Judge W. Reilly Marchant wrote that "the public interest does weigh in favor" of a 90-day injunction.

In a separate case, Marchant dismissed entirely as not "legally viable" the claims filed by a descendant of signatories to an 1890 deed that transferred the statue to the state, and he dissolved an existing injunction in that case

EPSTEIN DEBACLE REVEALS A COMPROMISED FBI

The deeper we go into the lurid reality behind Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s teenage sex slave empire, the more we uncover disgusting Democrats and their associates.

Serial liar and alleged rapist Bill Clinton is dodging the revelations slowly creeping out of the Maxwell and her victim’s depositions thanks in large part to the mockingbird media covering his tracks and a pattern of protection emerging from the highest law enforcement bureaucracies in the United States to protect the elite’s penchant for unrestrained child sexual abuse.

This blackmail ring of international proportions will eventually implode, revealing the horrible truth that massive arrests and changes at the FBI must be courageously attained or America’s spiral into darkness will continue to accelerate.

Democratic Socialists Of America Teams Up With Teachers Unions To Reform Schools

What happened:

The Democratic Socialists of America has endorsed the demands of some of the largest teachers’ unions in the US.

These are conditions that the unions say must be met before teachers are willing to return to teach public school during a pandemic.

For example, the unions say school should be cancelled this fall to allow more time for the pandemic to die down.

They could also use that time to retrofit schools with safety measures, using “a massive influx of federal funds” that the unions and Democratic Socialists are also demanding.

The unions also want to ban charter schools and school voucher programs… to combat Covid-19?

BLM Uses 'Mafia Tactics' To Threaten Cuban Restaurant Owner With Diversity Demands

The owner of a Cuban restaurant in Louisville has decried a list of 'diversity demands sent to him and dozens of other small business owners by Black Lives Matter activists - which include guaranteeing that at least 23% of staff are black, 23% of the business's supplies are from black-owned retailers, and 1.5% of their net sales go to black charities. They also need to publicly display a sign showing their support for the movement.Restaurant owner Fernando Martinez and other members of the Cuban community on Sunday protesting against the BLM list of demands.

If they don't comply, the business owners face a series of "repercussions," including social media shaming, 'invasive reclamation' where black owned businesses would set up competing 'booths and tables' outside the stores, and they would have 'their storefronts fucked with,' according to the Daily Mail.

The letter was sent to business owners in the city's 'NuLu' East Market District during a July 24 protest which forced some area businesses to close. BLM argues that the neighborhood was only able to flourish after a housing project was demolished in the 2000s, which 'robbed the black community of opportunities and wiped out their homes,' according to the report.

Fernando Martinez, who owns La Bodeguita de Mima, claims that one of the activists warned him: 'You better put the letter on the door so your business is not f*cked with.'

For the next two days after the protest, he claims he kept his restaurant closed because staff feared for their safety. It meant that more than 30 staff members were not able to earn a paycheck.

He took to Facebook to accuse them of 'mafia tactics' and said that while he respects the movement and wants to support it, it's unfair for his business and safety to be threatened.

'There comes a time in life that you have to make a stand and you have to really prove your convictions and what you believe in.

'All good people need to denounce this. How can you justified (sic) injustice with more injustice?' he wrote on Facebook. -Daily Mail

"I’m calling on the Illinois State Board of Education and local school districts to take immediate action by removing current history books and curriculum practices that unfairly communicate our history," he said.

‘Transitioning’ Procedures Don’t Help Mental Health, Dataset Shows

The world’s largest dataset on patients who have undergone sex-reassignment procedures reveals that these procedures do not bring mental health benefits. But that’s not what the authors originally claimed. Or what the media touted.

In October 2019, the American Journal of Psychiatry published a paper titled “Reduction in Mental Health Treatment Utilization Among Transgender Individuals After Gender-Affirming Surgeries: A Total Population Study.” As the title suggests, the paper claimed that after having had sex-reassignment surgeries, a patient was less likely to need mental health treatment.

Well, over the weekend, the editors of the journal and the authors of the paperissued a correction. In the words of the authors, “the results demonstrated no advantage of surgery in relation to subsequent mood or anxiety disorder-related health care.”

But it’s actually worse than that. The original results already demonstrated no benefits to hormonal transition. That part didn’t need a correction.

So, the bottom line: The largest dataset on sex-reassignment procedures—both hormonal and surgical—reveals that such procedures do not bring the promised mental health benefits.

Cultural Suicide: What the US Can Learn From These Examples

Cultural suicide used to be a popular diagnosis of why things suddenly just quit.

Historians such as Oswald Spengler and Arnold Toynbee cited social cannibalism to explain why once-successful states, institutions, and cultures simply died off.

Their common explanation was that the arrogance of success ensures lethal consequences. Once elites became pampered and arrogant, they feel exempt from their ancestors’ respect for moral and spiritual laws like thrift, moderation, and transcendence.

Take professional sports. Over the last century, professional football, basketball, and baseball were racially integrated and adopted a uniform code of patriotic observance. The three leagues offered fans a pleasant respite from daily barroom politics. As a result, by the 21st century, the NFL, NBA, and MLB had become global multibillion-dollar enterprises.

Then hubris ensued.

The owners, coaches, and players weren’t always racially diverse. But that inconvenient truth did not stop the leagues from hectoring their fans about social activism–even as they no longer honored common patriotic rituals.

All three leagues have suffered terribly during the viral lockdown, as American life mysteriously went on without them. And they have almost ensured that they won’t fully recover when the quarantine ends.

The Troubling Goals of the Black Lives Matter Movement

Politicians and various social justice groups have long used labels that have nothing to do with the real intent of legislation, or an organization, to dupe the public. But, to paraphrase Shakespeare, a rose by any other name is still a rose.

Numerous “civil rights” bills have been passed by Congress over the years that have nothing to do with civil rights, but how many members are brave enough to point that out and vote against them?

Which brings me to the Black Lives Matter movement. How many mainstream reporters have bothered to delve into the background and founding principles of the rapidly spreading organization to which even white CEOs are contributinggobs of money in what appears to be an attempt to protect themselves and their businesses from any potential charge of racism?

The Acton Institute for the Study of Religion and Liberty, which self-describes as “an ecumenical, nonprofit research organization that promotes the benefits of free enterprise to religious communities, business people, students and educators,” has exposed the ideology of Black Lives Matter.

Two regimes are fighting an ideological war in America today. But what side are you on? And how can you sharpen up on how to defend your position? Learn more now >>

According to Acton, the founding principles of BLM include a guaranteed minimum income for all black people, free health care, free schooling, free food, free real estate, gender reassignment surgery, and free abortion (already disproportionately high among African American women, “27.1 per 1,000 women compared with 10 per 1,000 for white women,” but apparently unborn black lives don’t matter to BLM).

$15,000 Gold?

Gold pushed above its all-time record price last week. Where does it go from here? Peter Schiff and Jim Rickards appeared on Kitco News to talk about gold’s trajectory and the possibility of $15,000 gold in the future.

Peter opened up the interview saying he’s surprised it took gold this long to break its record.

A lot has happened in the last decade. We’ve certainly printed a lot of money.”

Peter said the Federal Reserve has moved into a policy from which it can never extricate itself.

When we went to zero, when we did QE, people initially thought it was temporary and we could normalize rates and shrink its balance sheet. And I said from the beginning that was impossible, and I think the markets are now beginning to realize that I was right about that. And when they contemplate a future of endless money printing and zero percent interest rates forever and multi-trillion dollar deficits funded by the Fed’s printing press, it’s starting to sink in, and they’re getting rid of their dollars and they’re buying gold.”

AOC says Rep. Ilhan Omar facing tough primary challenge because she's 'damn effective'

'Because when you speak truth to power, power fights back,' Ocasio-Cortez said

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., argued that fellow “Squad” member Rep. Ilhan Omar is facing a competitive primary challenge because she is “damn effective” against big money interests.

The freshman Democrat from Minnesota is facing a primary challenge from Antone Melton-Meaux, a Black Minneapolis lawyer who labels himself a “progressive, lifelong Democrat.” Melton-Meaux nearly doubled Omar in campaign funding, reporting $2 million in his campaign coffers at the end of June, as opposed to Omar’s $1.1 million cash on hand.

In a live-streamed “day of action” Sunday, Ocasio-Cortez admitted it was unusual to have such a well-funded primary in a heavily blue district such as Omar’s.

She said funders “usually like to get a bang for their buck” and typically contribute to races that have a chance of tipping a seat from one party to the other.
