Inside the horrifying, unspoken world of sexually abusive nuns

It’s the line from Scripture that stayed with Cait Finnegan for nearly half a century as she tried to suppress the painful memories of the sexual abuse she says she suffered at the hands of her Catholic clergy educator.

“God is Love,” Sister Mary Juanita Barto told Finnegan as she repeatedly raped her in classrooms at Mater Christi High School in Queens in the late 1960s.

The abuse began when Finnegan was 15 and continued throughout her high school years — on school buses to out-of-town sporting events, at religious retreats in upstate New York, at Finnegan’s childhood home in Woodside and at a Long Island convent.

“She was obsessed with me 24 hours a day,” Finnegan, now 67, told The Post. “The woman owned me.”

Concocting fake hate crimes a criminal act

The lengths Democrats will go these days to try to paint the president and his supporters as racist, violent or homophobic is beyond sociopath — it’s criminal.

Take outspoken Trump critic and openly gay TV actor Jussie Smollett. Last month, the “Empire” actor recounted a hard-to-believe hate crime alleging he was attacked by two white men on a city street in Chicago at 2 a.m. The black actor claimed the white men assaulted him, put a rope around his neck and threw bleach on him while hurling racist and homophobic epithets — and saying “This is MAGA country.”

Instead of waiting for the police to investigate the wild tale, many in the media, top Democratic lawmakers and 2020 presidential candidates, including Elizabeth Warren, wasted no time rushing to his defense. Sens. Cory Booker and Kamala Harris both compared the alleged attack to a “modern-day lynching,” while Bernie Sanders called it “a horrific instance of the surging hostility toward minorities around the country.” House Majority Speaker Nancy Pelosi, ex-Vice President Joe Biden and other Dems jumped in the fray, fanning racial divisions while others fueled the false narrative that Trump supporters are anti-LGBTQ. Not surprisingly, Hollywood liberals rushed to defend the actor while trying to blame the purported hate crime on “Trump’s rhetoric.”

Now evidence strongly suggests the whole thing was a hoax.

Is It Wrong to End a Sentence With a Preposition?

In school, you were taught that the rules of grammar should never be violated: use apostrophes to connote possession, join two ideas using a semicolon, and never end a sentence with a preposition.

Unlike apostrophe usage, however, sticking closely to the preposition rule can sometimes make sentences clunky or confusing. The truth is that including a preposition at the end of a sentence is not always bad grammar. In fact, the anti-preposition rule is largely a myth.

Introduction to Prepositions and Prepositional Phrases

A preposition is a word that connects a verb, noun, or adjective with a noun or pronoun, showing the relationship between the two or another element in that same clause or sentence. In the sentence, “The cat sat between the two trees,” the word “between” is a preposition because it establishes how one noun (the cat) is situated among the other nouns (trees). Prepositions often deal with time and location, such as “behind,” “after,” or “over.”

It's useful to have a go-to rule for determining whether a given word is a preposition. One option is to place the word in this sentence: “The mouse goes ______ the box.” If the word makes sense in the sentence, then it is a preposition. However, if a word does not fit, it may still be a preposition — for instance, prepositions like “according to” or “notwithstanding."

Prepositional phrases are groupings of at least two words, consisting of, at minimum, the preposition and the object of the preposition, aka, the noun it precedes. For example, “near the ocean,” “without gluten,” and “before bed” are all prepositional phrases.

Origins of the Preposition Rule

Elizabeth Warren makes surprise appearance at Native American conference

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., made a surprise visit Tuesday to a Native American conference in Washington, D.C.

Her appearance at the National Conference of American Indians comes just a few days afterformally announcing her candidacy for president and after she apologized amid a wave of backlash from political allies and enemies alike for identifying as Native American in the past, including during her time as a professor at Harvard University and other colleges, and for taking a DNA test last year to show she had Native American roots.

This wasn't the first time Warren has appeared at the conference. She also made a surprise stop at the 2018 event, where she spoke and received a standing ovation months before she publicized the DNA results.

How Mass Deinstitutionalization Harmed the Mentally Ill

One year ago Thursday, the horrific school shooting in Parkland, Florida, sparked an intense national debate over firearm-related violence.

As some pushed for broader restrictions on the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens, The Heritage Foundation has undertaken the task of evaluating the complex, underlying realities of gun violence, including its relationship to untreated serious mental illness.

As part of a series of papers exploring this relationship, John Malcolm and I authored a Heritage legal memo, “The Consequences of Deinstitutionalizing the Severely Mentally Ill,” focusing on the mental health crisis in the United States and how states can combat that crisis to make communities safer.

Our paper begins by exploring several catalysts for the mass removal of the seriously mentally ill from inpatient facilities during the 1960s and 1970s, a process referred to as deinstitutionalization.

Ex-FBI lawyer: Rod Rosenstein said two Cabinet officials were 'ready to support' effort to oust Trump

Former FBI general counsel James Baker testified to Congress last fall that he was told by two officials that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said a pair of Cabinet officials was "ready to support" an effort to remove President Trump from office.

Addressing a joint task force of the House Judiciary and Oversight committees, Baker did not name the Cabinet officials. Baker did identify the two FBI officials who informed him of Rosenstein's talk of invoking the 25th Amendment: Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and former FBI lawyer Lisa Page, whose anti-Trump text message with ex-FBI agent Peter Strzok has fueled concern among GOP lawmakers that there is rampant bias in the FBI.

“I was being told by some combination of Andy McCabe and Lisa Page, that, in a conversation with the deputy attorney general, he had stated that he — this was what was related to me — that he had at least two members of the president’s Cabinet who were ready to support, I guess you would call it, an action under the 25th Amendment,” Baker said in a closed-door testimony, according to Fox News.

Democrats Can't Hide Crazy

Back in November, I predicted all this. I wrote my most controversial column. After the GOP lost the House, I predicted the big winner of the November midterms would be ... President Donald Trump.

I'm sure some of you thought I was stark raving mad. But my November prediction has proven 100 percent accurate. Back then, I prophesied that if Democrats got in charge, they would embarrass themselves, expose themselves and destroy themselves. The craziest and most radical Democrats would no longer be hidden.

I was on the money. The best thing that ever happened to Trump was Democrats taking the House.

Have you seen the latest polls? At this writing, President Trump has 50 percent approval according to always-accurate Rasmussen Reports. That's higher than Barack Obama's 48 percent at the 24-month mark of his presidency. Yes, Trump is just about the most popular he's ever been -- even after the longest government shutdown in American history.

It is all happening as I predicted. The more Democrats appear in the media, the more popular Trump becomes. Democrats are in charge. Their crazy is out in the open for everyone to see. The Democrat Party is dangerous, extreme, radical, reckless and really, really crazy.

Take just this past week. Freshman Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar, the first Somali-American Muslim member of Congress, has been lashing out at Jews in anti-Semitic tirades. It got so bad that her own Democratic leadership strongly condemned her Jew hatred. She has called Israel "evil." She has defended people trying to join ISIS. She seems to think there is no difference between Israel and Iran. She accused pro-Israel groups of bribing Congress. She sounds like someone who would be more at home in the parliament of Iran.

Mexican Kidnappers Behead Businesswoman After Husband Unable to Pay

Kidnappers in the Mexican coastal state of Veracruz dumped the body of a woman in a vacant lot inside of a garbage bag after her husband could not pay a ransom of 4 million pesos ($51,912 USD). The kidnappers also left a taunting message to the victim’s husband blaming not paying for his wife’s death.

The kidnappers beheaded the kidnap victim (identified as Susana Carrera, a businesswoman and mother of three) and dumped her remains in a vacant lot in a garbage bag. Officials found the remains in colonia Benito Juarez, located in the city of Coatzacoalcos in Veracruz on Wednesday night according to local media. Coatzacoalcos is a major port city on the Gulf of Mexico. It is located in the southern part of the country, approximately 200 miles south of the state capital of Veracruz.

Kidnappers snatched up the woman as she left her residence to pick up her daughter who was visiting a friend. They held her captive for approximately one week. According to media reports, the kidnappers had demanded a ransom of 4 million pesos ($51,912 USD) for her safe release but her family was unable to come up with the demanded payment.

All US Citizens Ordered Out Of Haiti Amidst Mass Unrest And Chaos

Haiti continues to be gripped by civil unrest and mass protests demanding that President Jovenal Moise step down over charges of corruption and and rampant inflation under his watch — yet unlike similar unrest happening hundreds of miles due south of the small Caribbean country in Venezuela, Washington has stood in support of the president. Starting Thursday the US State Department urged all American citizens out of the country and issued a no-not-travel advisory due to "crime and civil unrest".

And national security adviser John Bolton followed with a statement on Saturday for all sides in Haiti to "respect and protect their democracy" — a bit ironic considering he spent the rest of the day tweeting regime change related messages targeting Venezuela's Maduro. He revealed in the tweet that he met with Haitian Foreign Minister on Friday "to express the United States’ enduring support for and friendship with Haiti." He further urged "all of Haiti’s political actors to respect and protect their democracy, engage in dialogue, and put an end to the political violence."

How Mitch McConnell could save Trump’s border wall

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., could soon play a key role in protecting President Trump's proposed border wall by refusing to hold a vote on a measure aimed at nullifying Trump's national emergency declaration.

Congress is poised to send Trump a resolution in the coming weeks that rescinds the national emergency Trump issued on Friday to justify shifting billions of dollars in federal funds for border wall construction.

If the House and Senate pass that resolution, Trump would likely veto it, after which the House and Senate could try to override that veto. But even if the Democratic-led House overrode Trump's veto, McConnell has the power to ignore that House vote and refuse to reconsider it at all.

BRAIN FREEZE-> Speaker Pelosi Wishes Everyone “Happy Thanksgiving” — On Valentine’s Day (VIDEO)

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) wished everyone a “Happy Thanksgiving” — on Valentine’s Day at the bill signing this week.

Pelosi was so excited to be signing the new border bill this week that she had another brain freeze.

The Democrat Speaker of the House also slipped and called the border bill “our victory” because of course it’s all about Washington — to hell with the American people. Pelosi caught herself and corrected her statement quickly and said, “or the victory for the American people.”

“Happy Valentine’s Day. We saluted our victory – or the victory for the American people – earlier with chocolate. Chocolate from California, I call it the champagne of chocolate. So again, I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. You should go home now to your loved ones,” Pelosi said.

Al Sharpton: Hold Jussie Smollett accountable if he staged attack

The Rev. Al Sharpton believes Jussie Smollett should face “accountability to the maximum” — if it’s found that he made up the hate attack against him.

The outspoken civil rights leader addressed recent reports that the alleged assault on the black, openly gay “Empire” actor may have been staged with two bodybuilding brothers, Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo.

“I, among many others when hearing of the report, said that the reports were horrific and that we should come with all that we can come with in law enforcement to find out what happened and the guilty should suffer the maximum,” Sharpton said Sunday night on his show “PoliticsNation” on MSNBC.

“I still maintain that,” he continued. “And if it is that Smollett and these gentlemen did in some way perpetuate something that is not true, they ought to face accountability to the maximum.”

When news of the Jan. 29 attack against Smollett broke, Sharpton immediately spoke out to say he was “outraged.”

“For Jussie, who’s not only a superb actor and singer but an activist who has fought against homophobia and racism and sexism, to be a victim is something that is totally unacceptable,” he told TMZ last month. “I challenge the Chicago law enforcement to do all within their power to find out those that are guilty and they should face the maximum penalty of law.”

Limbaugh: Budget deal has more evidence of 'multifaceted coup' against Trump

Radio host Rush Limbaugh says the budget deal handed to President Trump is further evidence of a “multi-faceted coup” by politicians in both parties, government bureaucrats and members of the media.

The conservative pundit says legislative poison pills on border security were part of an ongoing effort to cause his base to abandon ship.

“This coup is continuing, is the point — and the coup, I think, continues in this budget deal,” Mr. Limbaugh said Friday. “It’s a multi-faceted coup that is occurring. … I firmly believe that what members of Congress, both parties, actually want with this bill is to send a message that nothing is ever going to happen as long as Donald Trump is president. The attempt in this budget deal is to send a message to you Trump voters that it’s worthless voting for him, that it is a waste of time supporting him because they are demonstrating that he can’t get anything done.

“When it comes to open borders and to amnesty, we don’t have two political parties,” he continued. “We have one.

How Minneapolis' Somali community became the terrorist recruitment capital of the US

More men and boys from a Somali-American community in Minneapolis have joined – or attempted to join – a foreign terrorist organization over the last 12 years than any other jurisdiction in the country.

FBI stats show 45 Somalis left to join the ranks of either the Somalia-based Islamic insurgency al-Shabab, or the Iraq- and Syria-based ISIS combined. And as of 2018, a dozen more had been arrested with the intention of leaving to support ISIS. Both numbers are far higher than those of alleged terrorist wannabes who left or attempted to leave the country from other areas in the country where Muslim refugees have been resettled.

In the case of the Somalis, it's no longer just the men. Early last year, a female was apprehended by authorities on charges of supporting providing material support to Al Qaeda and arson.

So what has made the area such a hotbed for such activity? And what has been Rep. Ilhan Omar's record in addressing the issue - either before she was elected, or since?

The answers matter because federal authorities say they remain "highly concerned" about the terrorist connection with the Minneapolis Somalis - even though al-Shabab is struggling against the Somali government, and the so-called ISIS “caliphate” has crumbled under a sustained U.S.-led military campaign.

EXECUTIVE BOB CULVER ANNOUNCES SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT WITH CITY OF SALISBURY

Salisbury, Maryland... Executive Bob Culver announced today that Wicomico County and the City of Salisbury have reached a settlement agreement on several disputed matters. Past administrations have been unsuccessful in resolving these issues. Wicomico County requested that these differences be settled with arbitration.

By doing so, it was determined the County owed the City of Salisbury for a past agreement arising from the construction operation, removal of the sludge handling facility, and the sewage lagoon at Salisbury Wastewater Treatment plant. The county has agreed to deduct $89,572 from $252,474 that is owed to Wicomico County for one half the chiller in the Government Office Building.

Wicomico County and the City of Salisbury were able to agree that the city will pay their portion of the Master Lease Agreement, which was entered into May 30, 2012 with Grant Capital Management, Inc. no later than June 30th of each year.

The settlement agreement also included finalizing the ownership of Government Office Building that houses both the county and city offices.

Previously, Wicomico County billed and collected real estate taxes for the City of Salisbury at no cost to them. It was agreed that the City of Salisbury will now bill and collect their taxes beginning July 1, 2019. Wicomico County Department of Finance will still handle the tax sales for all municipalities.

MARYLANDERS URGED TO PREPARE NOW, WINTER STORM STARTING OVERNIGHT

REISTERSTOWN, Md. (February 19, 2019) – With another round of winter weather expected to impact much of Maryland starting after midnight, The Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) is urging residents to prepare now for the effects of the storm.
"The incoming winter weather could bring accumulating snow to much of our state, and I urge all Marylanders to prepare now for this storm," said Governor Larry Hogan. “As the snow is expected to start during the morning rush hour, please use good judgment and avoid travel if possible."
As of 1 p.m., the National Weather Service has issued Winter Storm Warnings for all Maryland counties west of the Chesapeake Bay except for Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s counties, which are under a Winter Weather Advisory. On the Eastern Shore, Caroline, Cecil, Key, Queen Anne’s and Talbot counties are under a Winter Weather Advisory.
The storm is expected to begin as snow and dump 4-8 inches on the areas under the warning and 2-4 inches on the areas covered by the advisory. The precipitation is predicted to change to ice in many areas on Wednesday afternoon before changing over to all rain.
“If you have to be out on the roads, make sure your car is prepared with a winter emergency kit and make sure to let friends and relatives know your travel plans before heading out,” said MEMA Executive Director Russell Strickland. “Because this is expected to be a heavy, wet snow followed by some icing, keep your devices charged in case of extended power outages.”
Marylanders are urged to listen and follow trusted weather forecasts for their areas of Maryland. MEMA also advises Maryland residents to take the following actions:
  • Check on vulnerable family, neighbors and friends.
  • Know who to contact in the case of a power outage. Emergency phone numbers for utility companies can be found here.
  • Never run generators indoors, in closed areas, or near vents.
  • Be cautious shoveling snow or ice to avoid overexertion. Take frequent breaks and keep hydrated.
  • Dress in several layers when venturing outside in the extreme cold.  Frostbite and Hypothermia can set in in minutes.

Kentucky Senate Passes Fetal Heartbeat Abortion Ban

The Kentucky Senate voted 31–6 Thursday to advance legislation that would ban most abortions once a fetal heartbeat can be detected — usually six or seven weeks into pregnancy.

The Republican Party of Kentucky posted on Twitter:

The Kentucky State Senate just passed the "Fetal Heartbeat Bill" banning abortions after a child in the womb has a detectable heartbeat! Now the bill heads to the House for further consideration. A great step forward for the pro-life movement! #kyga19https://t.co/adlEWUZf9Q

— Kentucky GOP (@KYGOP) February 14, 2019

Earlier in the day, a pregnant woman allowed a committee that reviewed the bill to hear the heartbeat of her unborn baby via an electronic monitor, reported the Associated Press.

April Lanham — a supporter of the legislation, who is 18 weeks pregnant — said she hoped her baby’s heartbeat would be a “powerful noise” for lawmakers to hear before voting on the bill.

“Every life matters,” she said.

Nolte: Networks Refuse to Cover Senate’s ‘No Russia Collusion’ Report

The same networks that spent 2,202 minutes of collective airtime to push the Russia Collusion Media-Hoax are refusing to cover the Senate Intelligence Committee bipartisan report, which found no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

The Media Research Center (MRC) did the research and found that between January 21, 2017, and February 10, 2019, “ABC’s World News Tonight, the CBS Evening News, and the NBC Nightly News [spent] 2,202 minutes on the Russia investigation [, which] accounted for nearly 19 percent of all Trump-related reporting [, and now] none of those three shows have even mentioned the investigation since NBC’s report came out on February 12.”

The same is true elsewhere on the left-wing networks.

“Neither CBS This Morning nor NBC’s Today have even acknowledged this new information from Senate investigators since the news broke on February 12,” MRC reports. “ABC’s Good Morning America briefly touched on it in a news brief totaling less than one minute on February 13.”

What’s especially fascinating is that NBC’s Ken Dilanian broke the original news of the Senate report, and NBC is still refusing to cover the story.

The reasons for this are quite obvious: the media know a reckoning is on the horizon, and they are buying time in the hopes of finding a way to wriggle out of it.

Black Civil Rights Advocate Says Jussie Smollett Should Be Prosecuted

Black civil rights activist Najee Ali is calling for the arrest and prosecution of actor Jussie Smollett for allegedly lying about being the victim of a hate crime, saying Smollett could have unintentionally triggered a “race war”.

During a press conference yesterday, Ali, who is the director of Project Islamic HOPE, said Smollett’s actions were an insult to real victims of hate crime.

“It’s a slap in the face. We have many members of the black community and the LGBTQ community who have been the victims of racism and hate crimes, so for Smollett to say that he was a victim…and we believe is a lie…certainly is an injustice to those true victims…,” Ali said. “Jussie Smollett must be brought to justice for lying.”

Ali also expressed concern that Smollett “could have created a race war” because more “extreme” members of the black community were so angry that they wanted to “retaliate” violently.

Leaked Photos Show U.S. Border Facility Overwhelmed by Migrants

Leaked photos reveal the extent to which U.S. border facilities are being overwhelmed by the inflow of migrants from Central America and other nations. Breitbart exclusively obtained the photos that are reminiscent of the Obama-era border surge. The images depict a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) processing, detention, and transport facility at a U.S. port-of-entry in El Paso, Texas.

The images were provided by a source operating under the umbrella of CBP who spoke with Breitbart on the condition of anonymity and stated, “The medical staff at the facility can’t keep doing this. They are getting overwhelmed.”

“We are basically facilitating Mexican cartels’ migrant smuggling operations into the interior of America. We are babysitting and not securing our border. The flow shows no signs of abating and it keeps increasing.”

Gohmert: Paul Ryan ‘Tricked’ Trump to Believe Wall Funding Could Not Pass

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) told Breitbart News Sunday that when former Rep. Paul Ryan was House speaker, he “tricked” President Donald Trump into believing a spending bill with wall funding could not pass through the House of Representatives.

Congressman Gohmert, a member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, told Breitbart News Deputy Political Editor Amanda House that former Speaker Paul Ryan told Trump in the run-up to the December government shutdown battle that a spending bill with wall funding would not pass through the GOP-controlled House.

House Freedom Caucus chairman Mark Meadows (R-NC), a staunch Trump ally, correctly predicted that House Republicans had the votes to pass through the House. The House passed a spending bill with $5.7 billion in wall funding in December with 217 in favor of the legislation.

Gohmert told Breitbart News Sunday, “We should have done something when we were in the majority, but we had leadership that was deceiving the president. For example, even the week we finally took a vote with border wall funding in the bill before Christmas, our former speaker was still telling President Trump that we cannot pass a bill in the Republican majority House that has money for the wall. And in the meeting, Mark Meadows says, ‘Just bring it to the floor. We’ll see. We think we do.’ So we brought it to the floor, and we passed it with wall funding money, and that could have been done two years ago. Two years ago, we squandered two years that God gave us this great opportunity, and we elected leadership that was happy sitting on their hands.”

Employee Tells 14-Year-Old Boy Wearing MAGA Hat, 'F*** You.' Then Boy's Mother Takes Charge.

On Sunday, a male employee at a Vans store in Overland Park, Kansas, saw a 14-year-old boy wearing a MAGA hat and said unprompted in the presence of the boy’s mother, “F*** you.”

That got him fired.

As first reported by The Daily Caller, the video of the subsequent exchange between the mother and the employee does not show the employee’s actual remark, but it does show the mother confronting the employee, who does not deny having made the remark. In the video, the mother says, “He did nothing to you. And what did you say to my son, to my fourteen-year-old son?”

The employee responds, “I’m sure he’s heard it before.”

The mom takes charge, saying, “Where’s your manager? Let’s go,” and heads for the store’s manager. She turns back and says to the employee, “You touched my child.”

The employee mutters, “I’m not touching him …”

The mother continues, “Let’s go. Let’s find your manager now.”

On January 29, Two Hate Crimes Occurred. The Media Only Covered The Fake One. Here's Why.

On January 29, 2019, Chicago Police opened a hate crime investigation into the alleged assault of Empire actor Jussie Smollett. Smollett, who is black and gay, alleged that two men approached him at 2 a.m. in Chicago, where they shouted “f*****” and “n*****,” tried to wrap a noose around his neck, and poured bleach on him. He also told TMZ that the men shouted, “This is MAGA country.”

The story received unending press. The Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), tweeted, “The racist, homophobic attack on [Smollett] is an affront to our humanity.” Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) called it a “modern-day lynching.” Congresswoman and Fresh Face™ of the Democratic Party Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez slammed anyone who questioned the story, tweeting, “The attack was not ‘possibly’ homophobic. It was a racist and homophobic attack.”

The media ran with the story. Good Morning America hosted Smollett, where he maligned anyone who asked questions as a racist and a homophobe. CNN’s Brooke Baldwin stated, “This is America in 2019.” Celebrities parroted their support for Smollett, with many blaming President Trump and Vice President Pence for the attack.

The story was a hoax.

That same night, a Jewish man in New York was beaten by three thugs. Nothing was stolen. The attack was caught on video.

Outside of a report in The Jerusalem Post, the story received virtually no attention.

This isn’t the only story of anti-Semitism in New York. Not by a long shot. Two weeks before that beating, a Jewish man, 19, was “violently assaulted” as he walked past a local laundromat by a group of teenage black males. In December, a 16-year-old Jewish teen spent a week in a hospital after being beaten by two other teens; witnesses said that the teens screamed “Kill the Jew.” The NYPD categorized the attack as “gang related” rather than a hate crime, angering Jews in the area.

Kamala Harris' Father Slams Her "Pursuit Of Identity Politics" After Pot-Smoking Jamaicans Joke

The father of 2020 Democratic presidential contender Kamala Harris, Jamaican Professor Donald Harris, has issued a sharp rebuke after his daughter casually stereotyped Jamaicans in an effort to look cool on a radio show.

When asked on New York City's hip-hop radio show "The Breakfast Club" if she opposes legalizing marijuana, Harris replied:

"That's not true," adding "and look, I joke about it - half-joking, half of my family's from Jamaica. Are you kidding me?"

Responding to his daughter's shameless pandering, Donald Harris said in a statment to Jamaica Global Online:

“My dear departed grandmothers (whose extraordinary legacy I described in a recent essay on this website), as well as my deceased parents, must be turning in their grave right now to see their family’s name, reputation and proud Jamaican identity being connected, in any way, jokingly or not with the fraudulent stereotype of a pot-smoking joy seeker and in the pursuit of identity politics. Speaking for myself and my immediate Jamaican family, we wish to categorically dissociate ourselves from this travesty.” -Jamaica Global Online

California Governor Wants National Guard To Help Struggling Pot Industry Instead Of Protecting Borders

California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom is hoping to pull National Guard troops away from the U.S.-Mexico border to help protect his state’s struggling marijuana industry.

Faced with competition from a robust black market, the legal cannabis industry in California has not experienced the growth that supporters had expected. Newsom — who enjoyed hundreds of thousands in campaign donations from the marijuana lobby — wants to aid the industry by redeploying at least 150 California National Guard troops from the U.S.-Mexico border and instead use them to combat illegal grows in Northern California.

“There are legitimate concerns in Northern California, particularly as it relates to illegal cannabis grows. They are getting worse, not better,” Newsom stated last week, according to the Los Angeles Times. “I want to see more enforcement.”

Gary Bauer: Trump Is Right

If you want a good example of fake news, the hysteria over President Trump’s declaration of a national emergency at the border is it.

You are being told by a media mob that the president has made himself a dictator, that he is using powers he does not have. Senate Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer called Trump’s decision “lawless.”

Here are the facts:

Congress has repeatedly granted the president the power to declare national emergencies since 1976.

The left-wing Brennan Center for Justice has identified 123 statutory powers – that means authority already existing in the law approved by Congress – that the president can exercise under an emergency declaration.

This power has been used nearly 60 times and by every president since Jimmy Carter, who declared two national emergencies. Reagan declared six. George H. W. Bush four. Clinton seventeen. George W. Bush twelve. Obama thirteen.

Donald Trump has already used this power three times during his administration. No one freaked out then.

There are 31 active national emergencies still in effect.

In 2005, two Democrat governors, Janet Napolitano (D-AZ) and Bill Richardson (D-NM) declared states of emergency at their borders due to surging illegal immigration, crime and violence – the same issues President Trump is citing today.

President Trump has every legal right to issue this emergency declaration.

NYC Starts Feeling the Bite of $15 Minimum Wage.

Some New Yorkers are quite upset by the recent raise of the minimum wage in the state to $15, which has resulted in restaurants all over the city raising their prices, according to the New York Post.

The minimum wage in the city has been raised from $13 and 13.50 in some places to $15 at the beginning of 2019. The people who rely on fast food restaurants for their daily lunches have been vocal in their disappointment with the wage hike as it has resulted in restaurants raising their prices.

“It’s obnoxious – kind of a slap in the face,” Starbucks patron Edward Beck told the Post. “Another increase and I won’t come back.”

Five Guys fan Marlon Henry, 43, is already changing his lunch plans thanks to heightened prices. “I was just telling my buddy these fries are expensive,” says the fire alarm inspector, who lives in Queens. Employees of the chain’s West 48th Street and Sixth Avenue location tell The Post that the fries have only increased by 10 cents since the new year, but that the price for burgers has gone up by $1. It’s all too much for Henry, who says he’ll go to other fast food spots to get his fix: “I won’t come back here.”

The Wealthiest And Poorest County In Every U.S. State

The average U.S. state is made up of 62 counties.

With so many counties spread throughout each state in the nation, it’s not surprising that we can find counties that exemplify almost any part of the American experience.

In this case, we’re comparing county-level data to look at the differences in economic opportunity within each state. More specifically, we are looking at the range of median household income, which is one proxy for the difference in economic status between counties.
Disparity By State

Today’s infographic comes to us from TitleMax, and it looks at the wealthiest and poorest counties in each individual U.S. state based on the measure of median household income.

Here are the five states with the biggest disparity between rich and poor counties:

1. Virginia: $102,800

Loudoun is about an hour’s drive to D.C., and it also happens to be the richest county in the U.S. in terms of median income. Further west in the state, bordering Kentucky and West Virginia, lies Buchanan County, which has a median household income of just $31,800.

Maryland debates raising age to buy tobacco products

WASHINGTON — Maryland lawmakers are considering a bill that would make it illegal for anyone under 21 to buy tobacco products.

The current minimum age in Maryland is 18. Six states and the District of Columbia have already raised the purchase age to 21, and Virginia is on track to enact similar legislation.

Jocelyn Collins, the government relations director for the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Action Network, says the number of teenagers taking up smoking is on the increase. The latest figures, she says, show that 1,900 teenagers a year in Maryland become daily smokers.

Collins says e-cigarettes are the favored product among young people, “The second top thing they’re using is they’re smoking cigars, the third thing is cigarettes and the fourth thing is smokeless tobacco, so this is a real concern for us.”

- The tallest structure in the world was the Eiffel Tower!

- The average wage in the U.S. was 22 cents an hour. The average U.S. worker made
between $200 and $400 per year. A competent accountant could expect to earn $2000
per year, a dentist $2,500 per year, a veterinarian between $1,500 and $4,000 per year,
and a mechanical engineer about $5,000 per year.

- More than 95 percent of all births in the U.S. took place at home .

- Most women only washed their hair once a month, and used borax or egg yolks for shampoo.

- Canada passed a law prohibiting poor people from entering the country for any reason.

- The five leading causes of death in the U.S. were: 1. Pneumonia and influenza 2. Tuberculosis
  3. Diarrhea 4. Heart disease 5. Stroke

- The American flag had 45 stars. Arizona, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Hawaii, and Alaska hadn’t
been admitted to the Union yet.

- The population of Las Vegas, Nevada, was 30!

- Crossword puzzles, canned beer, and iced tea hadn't been invented.

- There was no Mother's Day or Father's Day.

- Two of 10 U.S. adults couldn't read or write.

- Only 6 percent of all Americans had graduated high school.

- Marijuana, heroin, and morphine were all available over the counter at corner drugstores.
According to one pharmacist, "Heroin clears the complexion, gives buoyancy to the mind,
regulates the stomach and bowels, and is, in fact, a perfect guardian of health."

- Eighteen percent of households in the U.S had at least one full-time servant or domestic.

- There were only about 230 reported murders in the entire U.S.

- And I forwarded this from someone else without typing it myself, and sent it to you in a matter
of seconds! Try to imagine what it may be like in another 100 years . it staggers the mind.

Ilhan Omar To Fundraise For Islamic Terror-Linked Palestinian Organization

Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar is scheduled to raise money in March with the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) only a week after she used an anti-Semitic trope to claim Israel has paid for GOP support.

Omar will be the keynote speaker at CAIR’s 4th Annual Valley Banquet on March 23 to discuss advancing justice and empowering Muslims, according to the organization’s invitation. Single tickets start at $55 per person and a table can cost upwards of $500.

Hassan Shibly, the chief executive director for CAIR-Florida, will also be speaking at the event. Shibly has emphatically stated that Hezbollah and Hamas are not terrorist organizations, reported Jordan Schachtel at Conservative Review.

Hussam Ayloush, the chief executive director for CAIR-LA, who is hosting the event, compared the state of Israel to the Islamic State during a speech in April. Shibley has repeatedly echoed those sentiments and spread propaganda describing U.S. armed forces as radical terrorists.
