Animal cruelty charges filed after man seen beating dog

Police arrested Jordan E. Brokus, 22, of Parkville, Maryland, after city surveillance footage showed him brutally beating his dog last Friday.

According to the police report, Brokus was walking his dog, a two-year-old boxer/lab mix named Stone, along Caroline Street and the Boardwalk.

In the video, Brokus kicked Stone in the rib cage twice, before grabbing the dog by his collar, lifting him in the air and strangling him, police said.

The officer said Brokus then slammed his dog on the ground, and began choking him.

The video then showed Stone pulling himself out of his collar, and running away from Brokus. However, Brokus’ girlfriend appeared to call for the dog, which obediently returned.

  2. After having my dog for 12 year's. Putting him down Saturday due to cancer. I miss him even now. Then you hear about IDIOTS who their animal depends on for everything. ESPECIALLY to feel safe. Not kick them. A dog doesn't know why this IDIOT is kicking him. I wish I'd had seen this fool doing it. I certainly do!!

  5. This is just plain SICK. If that jerk will do that to a defenseless animal then he would do that to a human being. I hope they throw the book at him. Please tell me they took that poor dog away from him and his so called girlfriend.

  7. Oh everybody on here is up on their high horse about a guy beating his dog, but many of you don't seem to care to continue to stand up for animals by never watching the Dog Killer play Football!
He burned his losing dogs alive, and beat them with baseball bats, but when Michael Vick played you watched! Hypocrites!
