Troopers Arrest Suspect For Passing Counterfeit Bills at Delaware State Fair

Man, 48, jailed for 25 years for keeping his girlfriend locked up in a hotel room and abusing her

A Michigan man will spend 25 years behind bars for forcing his girlfriend to stay in a hotel room naked where he made her have sex with his friends.

Alphonso Russell, 48, was found guilty of first degree criminal sexual conduct, unlawful imprisonment, domestic violence and assault by strangulation last April.

The Holt man was sentenced Friday to a minimum of 25 years in prison for his crimes.

His girlfriend, who has been unnamed given the sexual assault nature of the case, said at first her relationship with Russell was 'magical'.

She said they had consensual sex but he began to show more aggression towards her and wanted to control everything she did, according to the Detroit Free Press.

South Africa Amending Constitution: White Farmers’ Lands To Be Seized And Given To Blacks

National Congress will move forward in amending their constitution to permit the seizure of white farmers' lands without compensation. The stolen land will be "redistributed" to poor blacks in the name of righting the inequities of apartheid some 25 years ago.

Earlier in 2018, as reported by News.com, South Africa’s parliament voted in favor of a motion brought forward by radical Marxist Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) seeking to begin the process of taking white-owned farmland without compensation. "We are taking the future into our own hands," said EFF leader Julius Malema. "Shoot to kill! Shoot to kill! Pow, pow!"

War Is A Racket: After 17 Years And Billions Wasted, US Seeks Peace With Taliban

Afghanistan, long acknowledged to be America's "forgotten war", has finally returned to the news of late. But this time, in a shocking twist on the now 17-year long conflict, the US is negotiating with the Taliban.

Perhaps this is why the mainstream media has by and large not given this bombshell story the coverage it deserves? Or do the major networks feel the American public has long ago stopped paying attention and will therefore yawn at any headlines containing the words 'US Troops/Afghanistan'?

As Daniel McAdams explains, last week US State Department officials met with Taliban leaders in Qatar. At the request of the Taliban, the US-backed Afghan government was not invited. The officials discussed ceasefires and an end to the war.

Meanwhile, the US inspector general charged with monitoring US spending on Afghanistan reconstruction has reported that since 2008, the US has completely wasted at the least $15.5 billion. He believes that's just the tip of the iceberg, though.

On Sunday, Reuters had this report on the latest surprising developments:

A meeting between a senior U.S. diplomat and Taliban representatives in Doha last week to discuss a possible ceasefire ended with “very positive signals” and a decision to hold more meetings, people with knowledge of the talks said on Sunday.

The meeting between a delegation led by Alice Wells, deputy assistant secretary in the State Department’s Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, and Taliban representatives was first reported in The Wall Street Journal but has not been officially confirmed.

According to one Taliban official, who said he was part of a four-member delegation, there were “very positive signals” from the meeting, which he said was conducted in a “friendly atmosphere” in a Doha hotel.

Could we be witnessing the very beginning stages of a negotiated face-saving exit from this nearly two decade long American quagmire in central Asia?

The prospect is discussed in today's Liberty Report:

ELECTORAL COLLEGE

A 39 second ‘Must Read’ you will want to pass on.

In their infinite wisdom, the United States’ Founders created the Electoral College to ensure the STATES were fairly represented. Why should one or two densely populated areas speak for the whole of the nation? The following list of statistics has been making the rounds on the Internet. It should finally put an end to the argument as to why the Electoral College makes sense.

Do share this. It needs to be widely known and understood:

There are 3,141 counties in the United States.
-       Trump won 3,084 of them
-       Clinton won 57

There are 62 counties in New York State.
-       Trump won 46 of them
-       Clinton won 16

Clinton won the popular vote by approx. 1.5 million votes.
-       In the 5 counties that encompass NYC, (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Richmond & Queens) Clinton received well over 2 million more votes than Trump. (Clinton only won 4 of these counties; Trump won Richmond) Therefore these 5 counties alone, more than accounted for Clinton winning the popular vote of the entire country.

These 5 counties comprise 319 square miles.
-       The United States is comprised of 3,797,000 square miles.
When you have a country that encompasses almost 4 million square miles of territory, it would be ludicrous to even suggest that the vote of those who inhabit a mere 319 square miles should dictate the outcome of a national election.

Large, densely populated Democrat cities (NYC, Chicago, LA, etc.) DO NOT and SHOULD NOT speak for the rest of our country!

And...it's been verified and documented that those aforementioned 319 square miles are where the majority of our nation’s problems foment.

Well worth the 39 seconds to read?

Congressman Urges Colleagues to Rename Post Office After Jimi Hendrix

WASHINGTON -- Purple haze may cloak a U.S. Post Office southeast of Seattle if the House passes new legislation to name the location after a local music legend.

Rep. Adam Smith (D-Wash.) today introduced a bill to rename the post office at 4301 NE 4th Street in Renton, Wash., the James Marshall “Jimi” Hendrix Post Office. The great electric guitarist, who passed away in 1970 at age 27, is buried a few blocks away at Greenwood Memorial Park. He also grew up in a home on the same street.

“Renaming the Renton Highlands Post Office the ‘Jimi Hendrix Post Office Building’ is one more way we can celebrate the legacy of one of the greatest musicians of our time and the importance of the south Seattle and Renton areas in his enduring legacy," Smith said in a statement today. "The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame calls Hendrix ‘the most gifted instrumentalist of all time, a self-taught electric guitarist whose fluid, immersive style was perfectly suited to embrace – and then revolutionize – the late '60s psychedelic rock movement.’"

Antifa 'Fight Instructors' Teach Activists How to Inflict Pain on Their Targets

A new undercover video from James O'Keefe's Project Veritas features Antifa “fight instructors” teaching activists how to incapacitate political enemies by violently attacking them.

"If you get a good liver or kidney shot, it's pretty much crippling them," the Antifa instructor said. "They're going to be pretty much doubled over and in a lot of pain."

The instructor also recommended breaking one of the floating ribs to cause maximum pain on a victim. "It's hard to move after that -- to catch a breath," he added helpfully. He told the activists that once the target is incapacitated, they can either run away or "really put a beating on them" if they want to "make it personal."

The instructor said if they don't knock the victim out, they should punch him in the nose or poke him in the eyes.

The video also introduces Andy Zee, an organizer for Refuse Fascism, a project of the Revolutionary Communist Party, talking about a possible meet-up with Democrat donor Tom Steyer.

Scott Wallace Never Voted in District He's Seeking to Represent Until He Voted for Himself

A Democratic candidate for Congress in Pennsylvania never voted in the district he is seeking to represent prior to voting for himself, despite claiming otherwise, and also has never voted in any municipal or odd-year elections while registered in another state, voting records obtained by the Washington Free Beacon show.

Scott Wallace, a wealthy liberal philanthropist who is the grandson of former Vice President Henry Wallace, is attempting to gain a House seat for Democrats in Pennsylvania's first congressional district that is currently occupied by first-term Republican incumbent Brian Fitzpatrick.

Wallace is from Bucks County, Pa., which is located in Pennsylvania's first district. Bucks Countywas a part of Pennsylvania's former eighth congressional district, which recently became a part of Pennsylvania's first congressional district following redistricting in the state, making the districteven more friendly to Democrats.

Wallace spent years running his family's foundation, the Wallace Global Fund, which has disbursed millions of dollars to dozens of far-left organizations, alongside his wife from Maryland and South Africa, before moving back to the area to run for office.

Wallace was quoted saying he had cast a vote in Bucks County in 1978.

Americans Having Fewer Kids Now Than in Past 42 Years

The U.S. fertility rate hit a 42-year low in the first quarter of 2018, new data released Wednesday by the Center for Disease Control show.

New numbers from the National Vital Statistics System (NVSS) reveal that the Total Fertility Rate (TFR) has fallen steadily since the first quarter of 2016. The TFR measures the number of children likely to be born per woman of childbearing age over her life course. The rate for the year ending in Q1 2018 was 1.759 children per woman, down from theend-of-2017 rate of 1.76.

Demographic Intelligence, a firm which forecasts demographic trends, projected that TFR will continue to fall through 2018, hitting 1.74 by the end of the year.

MAGA Flags Go Viral: UPDATE...

UPDATE: The individual who has now given out literally hundreds of these flags is none other then Mark Odachowski from Royal Plus Electric.

So when I had learned last night that these flags were being flown all over Ocean City a friend tipped me off as to just who was behind them. So I picked up the phone this morning and text my other friend who is in fact behind them, he confirmed.

His battery was dying on his phone and went dead while we were talking and at this time, (since I didn't get to ask him if I could mention his name) I don't want to expose just who this individual is but I can tell you that within a few minutes ALL 100 of the flags he had were spoken for and this morning he's getting another 100 coming in via UPS. The demand is so strong and so many people have been calling me asking where they too can get them.

I'll do my best to get my hands on a shipment of them and keep you posted when they come in. I'll close with this. The individual who brought these flags to the Marina said it is his absolute pleasure to provide them to ALL of the anglers interested in them as his business has gone through the roof ever since President Trump was elected. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

8 years ago, US Border Patrol agent Brian Terry was murdered. His suspected murderer is finally going on trial

The Mexican gang member accused of killing U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry in 2010, an event that led to the unearthing of the Obama-era Fast and Furious scandal, has pleaded not guilty on the charge of first-degree murder and eight other charges, a Justice Department official confirmed to the Washington Examiner late Wednesday.

Heraclio Osorio-Arellanes appeared in federal court in Tucson, Ariz., Wednesday following his extradition from Mexico Monday.

U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona Judge Eric Markovich ordered Osorio-Arellanes to jail and set the trial start date on Sept. 11.

Obama knows his endorsement would be a kiss of death for vulnerable Democrats

Former President Barack Obama has the power to bless and curse congressional candidates with his support. Take his endorsements of 81 candidates from around the country.

One word from Obama inspires the nostalgia needed to help a California or a New York candidate clinch their race. One word from Obama could also sink an incumbent in a red state, running for their lives away from Trump-loving electorates.

Obama knows this, and that is undoubtedly why Obama didn’t endorse any of the most vulnerable Senate candidates. He gives Rep. Jacky Rosen the nod as she tries to knock off Sen. Dean Heller, a Republican, in Nevada. At the same time, he steers clear of the likes of Democratic Sens. Joe Donnelly of Indiana and Joe Manchin of West Virginia. They’re probably grateful.

Obama Releases First Set of Midterm Election Endorsements, Does Not Endorse Ocasio-Cortez

Former President Barack Obama announced his endorsement Wednesday of dozens of Democratic candidates running for office in the November 2018 midterms.

A statement released by the former president's office said Obama will strive to help the Democratic Party retake control of the House of Representatives and increase the number of Democratic senators.

"I’m proud to endorse such a wide and impressive array of Democratic candidates – leaders as diverse, patriotic, and big-hearted as the America they’re running to represent," Obama said. He expressed confidence the candidates he endorsed will "strengthen this country we love by restoring opportunity that’s broadly shared, repairing our alliances and standing in the world, and upholding our fundamental commitment to justice, fairness, responsibility, and the rule of law."

The list of candidates endorsed by Obama includes prospective Democratic lawmakers from 14 states. Although the list contains two candidates from New York, the president did not endorse congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez or any Democrat in the state’s gubernatorial primary, which pits Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D.) against actress and progressive activist Cynthia Nixon.

Trump Further Chips Away at Obamacare by Expanding Short-Term Health Plans

The Trump administration moved Wednesday to expand health insurance options and affordability for Americans, with a new rule allowing cheaper new and renewable health insurance plans that consumers can use for up to a year.

The Department of Health and Human Services, Labor Department, and Treasury Department released the final rule that allows consumers to buy “short-term, limited duration” health insurance plans that are not subject to the Obamacare requirements. Consumers can have the plans for up to a year, instead of three months under the new rule.

The average monthly premium for an individual with a short-term plan in the fourth quarter of 2016 was $124, compared to $393 for an unsubsidized plan in the Obamacare exchange, according to HHS.

“They can be as much as 50-80 percent lower cost than the Affordable Care Act exchange plans,” Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar told reporters Wednesday. “We believe this could provide relief for well over 1 million people.”

Enraged By Trump Bumper Sticker, MA Woman Rams into Man's Car

A Massachusetts woman is accused of intentionally driving into a man’s car Monday after becoming enraged by his Trump bumper sticker. Chloe Wright, 25,has been taken into custody and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

She is also facing charges of vandalizing property and leaving the scene of a hit-and-run with property damage. The incident happened in Hyannis on June 30, theCape Cod Times reported.

On June 30, a man called the Barnstable Police Department to report the hit-and-run crash, which happened after Wright followed him down the street and began honking her car horn at him as they waited at a red light.

According to the police report, the honking continued as he drove to the next red light, where the motorist started yelling at him.

At this point, the man thought something might be wrong with the back of his car, so he stepped out to have a look at it. That's when the woman started shouting something about his Trump bumper sticker, he told the police. “She said, ‘You voted for Trump?’” the man wrote in a statement. “I said yes." He told CBS Boston that she then called him "a racist and a bunch of cuss words."

For the Roaring Economy, We Can Thank Trump and Republicans

When I read that the economy is growing strongly, it makes me happy.

But in politics, good news is not enough. You have to decide who gets credit for it.

President Ronald Reagan, no ordinary politician, kept a plaque on his desk that said, “There is no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he does not mind who gets the credit.”

Nevertheless, a good deal of the discussion surrounding the news that the economy grew hugely in the second quarter this year—4.1 percent—has been about how much credit President Donald Trump deserves.

Paul Krugman, the very left-wing Nobel Prize-winning economist, for whom there is nothing Trump can do that is good for the American people, dismissed this great economic news in his New York Times column, calling it a “nothingburger.”

TSA may stop screening passengers at 150 airports

The TSA is considering nixing passenger screening at more than 150 airports across the country, a new report reveals.

The proposal, laid out in documents by a TSA working group, would get rid of screening at some small and medium-size airports serving aircraft with 60 or fewer seats, according to CNN. If the passengers on those planes are connecting at a larger airport, they would instead be screened there.

The documents say there could be some risk associated with the move, stating there would be “small (non-zero) undesirable increase in risk related to additional adversary opportunity.” The move would save $114 million per year, the documents show.

How Long Does Marijuana Stay in Your System?

The effects of smoking marijuana fade quickly, but the drug can be detected in the body for weeks and sometimes longer. The amount of time the active ingredients and breakdown products of weed remain in the system depends on how often or how much marijuana the user has been smoking or ingesting.
How Marijuana Affects Your System

The active ingredient in marijuana is tetrahydrocannabinol, also called delta-9-THC or simply THC. It enters the body's bloodstream rapidly after smoking marijuana. If marijuana is ingested rather than smoked, it takes longer to be absorbed into the blood, usually from 20 minutes to an hour and a half.

The short-term effects of marijuana on memory, learning, problem-solving, and coordination last for one to two hours, with some lingering effects for up to 24 hours. It's been shown to impair your drivingperformance for up to three hours, according to the studies quoted by the National Highway Safety Administration.

THC is detectable in the blood for a short time, about a few hours, because it is rapidly broken down and modified into molecules known as metabolites. At least 80 different metabolites are formed from THC. These metabolites are stored in body fat and are gradually eliminated from the body through feces and urine.

Bannon: Trump Should Fire Rosenstein Within 72 Hours

Steve Bannon says that President Trump should fire Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein within the next 72 hours for "clearly obstructing justice if the DOJ doesn't coughg up all the documents sought by Congressional investigators.

Trump's former chief strategist told The Hill on Wednesday: "If he doesn’t do it in 72 hours, he’s fired. I’d fire him."

House conservatives threatened to impeach Rosenstein last week, only to walk back the threat days later after Speaker Paul Ryan came out against it, and Freedom Caucus co-founder Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) announced a bid to replace Ryan after the speakership opens up due to Ryan retiring after this year.

Bannon, a controversial figure who left the White House a year ago and was derided by Trump after the publication of Michael Wolff’s exposé “Fire and Fury,” insisted that there would eventually be a commission set up to look at anti-Trump malfeasance by intelligence agencies during the initial investigations into ties between Russia and the 2016 Trump campaign.

The president’s allies have long alleged that the investigation has been marked by bias, pointing to examples such as text messages between FBI agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page.

Trumka blasted by teachers union boss for keeping door open on Trump 2020 endorsement

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka is getting an earful – on Twitter – from teachers union boss Randi Weingarten for reportedly keeping the door open to a possible Trump endorsement in 2020.

Newsmax reported Wednesday that Trumka would not rule out a union endorsement for the president.

“Every [candidate] will be looked at,” Trumka said. He added, “we will consider every candidate who’s running.”

Trumka simply may have been stating union policy, not wanting to get ahead of an endorsement process that is nowhere close to starting, for an election more than two years out.

At the same time, he noted to Newsmax that Trump did better with AFL-CIO members than Mitt Romney did in 2012, while Hillary Clinton fared worse than then-President Barack Obama in 2012. And Trumka sought to explain why some union members backed the current president: “They were looking for someone who was going to change the economy. They felt there were assaults on their health care and assaults on their pensions.”

Taxpayer Funded Salisbury Maryland Amphitheater To Be Torn Down After Folked Festival

Remember that power grid problem I mentioned a month ago or so where I mentioned a massive power line that runs underneath the new amphitheater? Well, it turns out, some how, some way, the City was allowed to move forward with the project, since the power company refused to change its already scheduled work load. This is something you nor I could get away with BUT the City is being forced to demolish a good portion of this project in order to complete the MDE and electrical demands.

Yes, you will NOT hear about this from ANY of the local MSM as they have been covering pretty much ALL of Jake Day and Jack Heath's screw ups. They need to rename this thing the Whoopee Cushion Amphitheater

Feds Spend $1.1 Million Creating Apps for Transwomen and Gay Teens With 'Hooking Up Simulations'

Taxpayer-funded app includes tips on how to create 'enjoyable sexual encounters,' 'self-pleasuring,' 'condom and lube use'

The National Institutes of Health is spending over $1.1 million creating a mobile app to connect transwomen and a "sex-positive" app that creates "hooking up simulations" for black gay teenagers.

dfusion, inc., a "science-based" technology company based in California, received the funding for two apps, including, "T3," which stands for "Tune In! Turn Up! Turn On!"

T3 is a "sex-positive" app targeting black men ages 14 to 17 who have sex with men. The project has received $949,583, including over $700,000 this spring.

Once developed, the app will include "hooking up simulations" and tips for young gay teenagers on "self-pleasuring," "condom and lube use," and how to create "enjoyable sexual encounters."

The app will also include features common on dating apps, such as a chat tool and a GPS locater. The researchers said they want to meet young black men who have sex with men, or YBMSM, "where they are."

"We're emphasizing sex positive messages that promote healthy relationships and sexual health in this underserved population," said Karin Coyle, Scotts Valley, and Tamara Kuhn, who run the project for dfusion in Oakland. "The app uses videos, games, and interactive activities like ‘hooking up' simulations to emphasize ways to enhance sexual experience while reducing HIV risk."

"F*ck The Police": NYT's Newest Hire Also Hates Cops And Men, Not Just White People

The New York Times' newest editorial board member, Sarah Jeong, was outed as a bigot yesterday after dozens of tweets from less than four years ago were unearthed, revealing extreme hatred of white people.

The Times, in response, claimed to have known about the tweets - and said they were simply Jeong imitating racists.

"Her journalism and the fact that she is a young Asian woman have made her a subject of frequent online harassment. For a period of time she responded to that harassment by imitating the rhetoric of her harassers." -NYT

Except this was quickly dispelled after several tweets of Jeong's in which she drops casual bigotry such as "fuck white women" out of the blue were caught by other Twitter users.

Now, as the Daily Caller's Amber Athey reports, Jeong's Twitter history also reveals hatred of cops and men.

The NYT claimed that Jeong was “imitating” the behavior of people who harassed her online, but this does not explain why she was tweeting “fuck the police” and encouraging people to “kill all men.”

A search for “cops” and “police” on Jeong’s Twitter reveals an extensive history of anti-cop sentiment and a lack of sympathy for police who are injured on the job.

In one tweet from 2014 she wrote, “let me know when a cop gets killed by a rock or molotov cocktail or a stray shard of glass from a precious precious window.”

“Cops are assholes,” she said in 2015.

“If we’re talking big sweeping bans on shit that kills people, why don’t we ever ever ever ever talk about banning the police?” a tweet from 2016 asserts. -Daily Caller

Maryland House speaker to push for amendment protecting abortion rights

Maryland’s House Speaker Michael E. Busch plans to lead an effort to enshrine in the state constitution a woman’s right to terminate a pregnancy, joining a number of other states attempting to preempt any move by the Supreme Court to erode abortion protections.

Busch (D-Anne Arundel) said he will personally introduce and garner support for legislation asking voters to approve a constitutional amendment, probably in the next presidential election. An amendment would mean that even if the Supreme Court overturned its ban on state laws prohibiting abortion, no such legislation could be passed in Maryland.

“If [voters] decide that this becomes part of the constitution, a woman’s right to choose will never be debated; it will never be a bargaining chip” in the legislative process, Busch said.

Gov. Larry Hogan, a Republican who personally opposes abortion, said that he is not sure a referendum is necessary but that letting voters decide “sounds like a great idea.” Ben Jealous, his Democratic opponent, vowed to campaign in support of the amendment.

Local Woman Charged With Church Embezzlement

OCEAN CITY — A local woman has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of theft and embezzlement after an investigation determined she allegedly absconded with over $100,000 from a resort church during a scheme dating back to last summer.

On May 15, Ocean City Police Department (OCPD) officers were dispatched to the St. George Greek Orthodox Church at 88th Street for a reported theft scheme that had been going on for several months. OCPD officers met with church officials along with a suspect, identified as Teresa M. Kolacz, 51, of Berlin, who was an employee of the church.

More reason to get the kids out of the house...

Two Nevada teens have confessed to fatally beating their mother and burying her in a shallow grave because “they couldn’t take her complaining,” according to an arrest report.

Dakota Saldivar and Michael Wilson, both 17, were arrested early Wednesday after their mother, Dawn Liebig, 46, was reported missing from her Pahrump home on Monday. They now face charges of open murder, conspiracy to commit murder and domestic battery with a deadly weapon in the stabbing and bludgeoning attack, KVVU reports.

An investigation was launched after a man from Idaho called the Nye County Sheriff’s Office to request a welfare check at Liebig’s home, claiming he didn’t trust the children living at the residence. A detective later responded and found Liebig’s cellphone but didn’t locate her, leading him to open a missing person report, according to an arrest report obtained by the station.

Investigators then contacted another man who claimed Liebig’s sons gave him differing stories about her disappearance. The man told detectives he believed Liebig was dead “due to the type of family she is in,” according to the report.

Detectives then visited the home and interviewed Saldivar and Wilson, who provided inconsistent stories about their mother’s whereabouts. After a search of the teens’ phones and the discovery of a text that read “my mom passed away,” Wilson confessed that he and Saldivar stabbed Liebig before burying her body in a 2-foot-deep grave.

Wilson also claimed that Liebig asked the teens to kill her before leading detectives to the shallow grave, not far from where the murder weapons were buried, according to the arrest report.

AFL-CIO Open to Endorsing Trump in 2020

The president of the largest federation of unions in the United States is not ruling out the possibility that ALF-CIO, which represents over 12 million active and retired workers across the country, could endorse President Donald Trump for re-election in 2020.

Speaking at a breakfast roundtable sponsored by The Christian Science Monitor on Wednesday, Richard Trumka was asked byNewsmax‘s John Gizzi if it was "outside the question" the AFL-CIO might endorse Trump for re-election given the popularity the president enjoys amongst a cross-section of the union's membership.

"You have many members who like President Trump and voted for him in 2016, is that still the case?" Gizzi asked. "Is there a large cadre of Trump loyalists, who are also card-carrying members of the AFL-CIO and is it outside the question, outside reality that you might endorse him for re-election next time?"

Trumka, who was re-elected to a third term as the union's president last year, elaborated it was important to understand "the facts" before answering the question.

"First of all, let me give you the facts," Trumka said. "Trump got 3 percentage points more of our members than Romney did [in 2012]. Three percentage points. Unfortunately for Hillary [Clinton], she got 10 percentage points less of our members than Obama did [in 2012.]"

Thomas Gallatin: CNN's Jim Acosta Can't Take What He Dishes

CNN reporter Jim Acosta was in Tampa, Florida, covering President Donald Trump’s Tuesday rally. At one point during Acosta’s live coverage of the event, a group of Trump supporters loudly chanted “CNN sucks!” Acosta, whose obsessively negative anti-Trump reporting has earned the ire of both the president and many conservatives, sought to portray the behavior of the rally-goers in the worst and most dramatic light possible. “Just a sample of the sad scene we faced at the Trump rally in Tampa,” he lamented from the fainting couch. “I’m very worried that the hostility whipped up by Trump and some in conservative media will result in somebody getting hurt. We should not treat our fellow Americans this way. The press is not the enemy.”

Where was Acosta’s concern over “hostility whipped up” by people at anti-Trump rallies? Or how about his own insinuation that Trump supporters are dangerously stupid? In an interview with Variety, he haughtily asserted, “They don’t have all their faculties and in some cases their elevator might not hit all floors.”

As Mark Alexander noted yesterday, however, it’s leftists who often suffer Trump Derangement Syndrome.

FACT CHECK: TRUMP SAYS 3.5 MILLION PEOPLE HAVE BEEN LIFTED OFF FOOD STAMPS

President Donald Trump said in remarks at the White House recently that 3.5 million Americans have been lifted off food stamps.

Verdict: True

The number of people receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits declined by 3.6 million since Trump was elected president and 3.1 million since he assumed office.

Fact Check:

Trump mentioned the decline in food stamp recipients, along with a number of other statistics that highlighted the health of the economy, after the Bureau of Economic Analysis announced that gross domestic product grew an estimated 4.1 percent in the second quarter of 2018.

“More than 3.5 million Americans have been lifted off food stamps – something that you haven’t seen in decades,” he said.

SNAP benefits, formerly known as food stamps, are vouchers that low-income Americans can use to buy food at approved retailers. States run and administer the program, while the federal government funds the benefits.

Dallas immigration attorney sentenced to 6 months in federal prison for marriage fraud scheme

DALLAS — A Dallas immigration attorney was sentenced Monday by U.S. District Judge David C. Godbey to six months in federal prison, announced U.S. Attorney Erin Nealy Cox of the Northern District of Texas.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) investigated this case.

Co-defendant Amna Cheema, 38, a Pakistani national, previously pleaded guilty to her role in the scheme and was sentenced to time served.

According to the plea agreement factual resume, in June 2015, Dallas immigration attorney Bilal Ahmed Khaleeq, 48, and others knowingly and unlawfully conspired and agreed together and with each other to unlawfully facilitate and enter into a marriage between Cheema and a U.S. citizen (Person A) to evade immigration laws. Cheema and Person A were married in Dallas County, Texas, and subsequently filed U.S. permanent residence applications with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in July 2015. In exchange for agreeing to marry Cheema, Person A was paid $745.

Cheema also admitted meeting with Khaleeq and Person A at Khaleeq’s law office on more than one occasion to prepare for the USCIS interview and required documentary evidence including joint bank accounts, tax returns, and bills concerning their joint residence. According to co-defendant Cheema, Khaleeq also represented the couple at the USCIS interview in April 2016 and advised them on additional evidence to make the marriage appear legitimate.

Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Lynn Javier, Northern District of Texas, prosecuted this case.

Ron DeSantis endorses Jim Jordan for House speaker

Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fl.), who is running for governor in Florida, said on Thursday he would support Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) in the race to succeed House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.).

DeSantis -- an inaugural member of the powerful House Freedom Caucus -- cited Jordan's time as a wrestler and his reputation as a conservative firebrand as qualities he'd like to see in the next No. 1 Republican in the House.

Jordan has been facing allegations from former wrestlers at Ohio State University (OSU) that he turned a blind eye to reports of sexual abuse during his tenure as an assistant wrestling coach. The Ohio lawmaker has denied any knowledge about the alleged abuse.

DeSantis, who is vying to replace retiring Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R), described Jordan as a man of principles and a fighter, as well as somebody who would stand up to lobbyists.

In a speech to America First Coalition, DeSantis also said Jordan would have pushed hard in the House Freedom Caucus' goal to get Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to release documents tied to the probe by Special Counsel Robert Mueller into Russian interference in the 2016 elections.

Congressional Candidate In Virginia Admits He’s A Pedophile

Nathan Larson, a 37-year-old accountant from Charlottesville, Virginia, is running for Congress as an independent candidate in his native state. He is also a pedophile, as he admitted to HuffPost on Thursday, who has bragged in website posts about raping his late ex-wife.

In a phone call, Larson confirmed that he created the now-defunct websites suiped.org and incelocalypse.today ― chat rooms that served as gathering places for pedophiles and violence-minded misogynists like himself. HuffPost contacted Larson after confirming that his campaign website shared an IP address with these forums, among others. His sites were terminated by their domain host on Tuesday.

On the phone, he was open about his pedophilia and seemingly unfazed about his long odds of attaining government office.

“A lot of people are tired of political correctness and being constrained by it,” he said. “People prefer when there’s an outsider who doesn’t have anything to lose and is willing to say what’s on a lot of people’s minds.”

Trump hits 50 per cent approval in national poll as he surges past Obama's 2010 numbers and earns MORE support than he won in 2016 election

Donald Trump has achieved a 50 per cent approval rating in a poll that proved better than most at predicting his stunning 2016 election victory.

Rasmussen Reports published the number Thursday from its daily tracking poll, marking the first time the president has reached that mark since May 22.

On August 2 of Barack Obama's second year as president, he was polling at 45 per cent in the same survey.

Maxine Waters Hit With FEC Complaint After Daughter Rakes In $750,000 From Campaign Funds

California Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters, 79, has been slapped with an FEC complaint after funneling $750,000 in campaign funds to her daughter since 2004 to manage a mailer program, as extensively detailed by the Free Beacon's Joe Schoffstall.

The scheme managed by Karen Waters has raked in hundreds of thousands of dollars from California politicians who pay to be included in her "slate mailers" - sample ballots mailed out to around 200,000 Los Angeles voters which promote who Waters endorses.

Since 2004, the campaign in turn reportedly has paid $750,000 to the congresswoman’s daughter, Karen Waters, or her public relations firm Progressive Connections for help producing them.

A government watchdog in July filed the first of two complaints with the Federal Election Commission asking for a full audit of the Citizens for Waters campaign. -Fox News

‘Protect Sarah Jeong’: Journalists, Pundits Defend NYTimes Writer

Various verified Twitter personalities coalesced to defend Sarah Jeong — the New York Times‘s latest hire — on Thursday following recent circulation of tweets in which she derided whites.

The New York Times issued the following statement:

"We hired Sarah Jeong because of the exceptional work she has done covering the internet and technology at a range of respected publications..."

Assorted Twitterati with blue check mark profiles offered defenses of — and deflections away from — Jeong’s derision of whites.

The Daily Beast’s Ken Klippenstein alluded to the New York Times’s recent hiring of Bret Stephens, indirectly referring to Stephen as “an unabashed climate denier”:

"[calculating how many thousands of times worse it is to hire an unabashed climate denier *in 2017* than Sarah Jeong]"

— Ken Klippenstein (@kenklippenstein) August 2, 2018

The New Yorker‘s Helen Rosner disparaged unspecified “motherf*****s” as inferior to Jeong:

"Sarah Jeong will outwrite, outthink, and outlast all you motherf****rs but good luck being fragile racist misogynists"

Rapper The Game Calls Cowboys' Dak Prescott a 'Coon' over Anthem Stance

West coast rapper The Game, tweeted a racial slur against Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. One week after the player said he would never disrespect the country by protesting during the national anthem.

After the Cowboys quarterback told reporters that he could “never protest during the anthem” and added “I don’t think that’s the time or the venue to do so.” The Game took to Twitter and accused Prescott of being a supporter of President Donald Trump. The recording artist also used the racial epithet of “coon” to attackPrescott, HotNewHipHiop reported.

“COONgratulations @dak Might as well throw on that MAGA hat,” the rapper, whose real name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor, tweeted on his “Black Jesus” Twitter account.

Several days have passed, but the fourth round 2016 NFL Draft pick has thus far ignored the attack.

Though, that is not to say that Prescott has ignored all the racial epithets thrown at him by black entertainers who don’t like the player’s patriotic feelings about the anthem, the flag, and the country.

There's a way to save Social Security, but it involves taxing the rich

As the outsized Baby Boom generation claims Social Security benefits, Americans increasingly doubt whether the program can pay all that it has promised — or even continue to cut checks at all. Social Security’s Trustees warn that unless Congress acts to restore the program’s long-term solvency, by 2034 it will only have funds to pay 77 cents of each dollar. An adjustment this size in 2018 would drop the average Social Security check of $16,848 to $12,973. Most older Americans depend on Social Security for all or a majority of their income.

The longer Congress plays chicken on this issue, the greater the risk that changes such as tax increases or benefit cuts, or a combination, will have major economic impacts on retirees and workers. Program actuaries emphasize the growing ratio of retirees receiving benefits to workers contributing payroll taxes as a major force impinging on the program’s solvency. But other forces are at work. Growing wealth and income inequality have significantly eroded Social Security’s tax base.

Wealth concentration: As Americans at the top of the economic spectrum continue to amass equities, bonds, and other assets, the portion of national income from capital investment has increased significantly. In the United States, labor’s share of earnings fell about eight percentage points between 1995 and 2013. Since Social Security relies primarily on a tax on labor for its sustenance, the relative growth of capital income gradually is choking off a source of revenue.

NYT defends openly racist opinion writer

Apparently it’s tougher than it looks to find editorial writers without a history of racially charged tweets, judging from the recent experience of The New York Times.

Six months after giving the heave-ho to an opinion writer over her insensitive social media comments, The New York Times is standing by Sarah Jeong, its newly hired lead technology scribe on the editorial side, despite the racist skeletons in her Twitter feed.

In a statement, the newspaper chalked up her anti-white blasts, such as “white men are bull–-,” as a reaction to “frequent online harassment.”

“Her journalism and the fact that she is a young Asian woman have made her a subject of frequent online harassment,” said The Times. “For a period of time she responded to that harassment by imitating the rhetoric of her harassers.”

Her hiring was met Wednesday with a spate of criticism over more than a dozen hostile tweets, most from 2014, in which she referred to “[d]umbass f–ing white people” and declared, “oh man it’s kind of sick how much joy I get out of being cruel to old white men.”

Times officials acknowledged that they were aware of her social media history before they offered her the editorial board post, saying it came out during the vetting process.

How the FBI and DOJ perfected the art of the witch hunt

President Trump is under fire once again this week for asking Attorney General Jeff Sessions to “stop this Rigged Witch Hunt right now, before it continues to stain our country any further.”

Democrats were quick to respond, including Rep. Joe Kennedy, D. Mass, who tweeted, “Mr. President, what you call a stain, we call a justice system standing strong for our democracy. Your fear of this investigation will not bring it to an end.”

But the president makes a valid argument. Why? Because for years many investigations that were led by the DOJ and FBI have been anything but fair. Allow me to explain.

Facebook Hires Team of Psychologists to Help Employees Cope with Objectionable Content

Earlier this week in a blog post, Facebook revealed some of the inner workings of the social media platform's content review process. Apparently, the job is so stressful that the company keeps a team of psychologists onsite to help their employees cope.

Facebook admits that content review on this scale has never been attempted before. "After all," Facebook said, "there has never been a platform where so many people communicate in so many different languages across so many different countries and cultures."

"We recognize the enormity of this challenge and the responsibility we have to get it right," they added.

Facebook claims that they employ 7,500 content reviewers, "a mix of full-time employees, contractors and companies we partner with," who cover every time zone and are proficient in over 50 languages.

NYT Hires Editor Who Absolutely Hates "Dumbass Fu*king White People"

The New York Times has hired a bigot, whose tweets from just 48 months ago would have gotten Roseanne Barr excommunicated from the planet were the race simply changed.
On Wednesday the paper announced the addition of Sarah Jeong to their editorial board as the "newest in a fab group of recent additions." As the Daily Caller's Amber Athey notes, Jeong previously wrote for the Verge and authored a book about online harassment and free speech titled "The Internet of Garbage."
One of Jeong's tweets from 2016 reads: "Dumbass fucking white people marking up the internet with their opinions like dogs pissing on fire hydrants." Another reads "oh man it's kind of sick how much joy I get out of being cruel to old white men"
oh man it's kind of sick how much joy I get out of being cruel to old white men

And while words don't hurt anyone, so who cares - the left has established that anyone's tweets can qualify them for a witch hunt, which is why director James Gunn is no longer employed by Disney after several very pedocentric tweets were unearthed.
