Millennials will never get to live alone

There’s more evidence that renters are just as likely to be struggling as homeowners.

A typical renter in Miami would need to spend nearly 50% of his or her income to rent a one-bedroom apartment, but a typical millennial renter would need to spend 54% of his or her income in that city, according to a new analysis of rental listings by real estate site Trulia. In Los Angeles, millennials pay nearly 39% of their monthly rent versus 34% for the average renter. In New York, they pay as much as the average renter (34%) and pay slightly less than the average renter in San Francisco (33.5% versus for the average renter 37%).

The solution is simple, though maybe not ideal for everyone: In America’s biggest rental markets, a renter can save on average 13% of his or her income by getting a roommate. While splitting an apartment with a roommate will save money, the benefits of sharing a living space vary from city to city, home to home. In Miami, millennials save 19% of their income in a two-bedroom apartment and they can save 14% in Los Angeles and New York, but only 9.5% in Washington, D.C. In all cases, except Miami, they can pay less than 30% of their income on rent by having a roomie.

CPAC straw poll: 80 percent say Trump realigning the conservative movement

Conservative activists overwhelmingly support President Trump's opening acts in the White House and believe he is realigning the conservative movement, according to the Conservative Political Action Conference straw poll results released Saturday.

Overall, 86 percent of CPAC attendees approve of the job Trump has done during the first month, while over 80 percent believe he is "realigning" the conservative movement going forward. The results, which were released at the tail-end of the conference, show that Trump receives support from wide swaths of conservatives.

Gas prices stable as U.S. boosts production

Gas prices remained stable in Delaware during the past week as the spring and summer driving season approaches.

The price at the pump averaged $2.21 in the state, down a penny from a week ago.

Wilmington-based AAA Atlantic reported that during the past week, retail gas averages moved downward by only a cent or two.

Prices continue to remain flat due to less driving and an oversupplied market, due to increased U.S. production. New individual and commercial vehicles are also more fuel efficient, putting further pressure on prices.

Most Illegal Immigrants Live In America's Metropolitan Areas

Having exposed $27 Billion reasons why a number of America's city officials are up in arms over President Trump's sanctuary city defunding decision, we thought it worth investigating just where the most illegal (or undocumented or unauthorized - pick your politically correct term) immigrants reside in America.

Across America, there are over 300 governmental jurisdictions claiming "sanctuary status." Of those governments, there are 106 cities, while the rest are states, counties or other units of government.

The new U.S. administration wants to overhaul America’s migration system, cracking down on undocumented migrants. As Statista's Dyfed Loeche reports, in total there are an estimated 11.1 million unauthorized migrants in the U.S. of which some 6.75 million took refuge in the big metropolitan areas, according to data collected by the Pew Research Center. Some of these metro areas have so-called sanctuary cities at their center.

Storm chasers honor 'Twister' star with GPS tribute

Nearly 200 storm chasers paid tribute Sunday to the late actor Bill Paxton by spelling out his initials using GPS coordinates on a map depicting the heart of Tornado Alley.

The effort coordinated by Spotter Network spelled out "BP" to honor the leading man in the disaster movie "Twister," which inspired a generation of storm chasers.

Storm chasers and storm spotters have spelled out the initials of fellow chasers in the tight-knit community four or five times before, but never for a non-chaser, said John Wetter, president of the nonprofit that tracks the positions of tornado chasers and works with the National Weather Service to update weather forecasts.

"There are probably hundreds, if not thousands, of meteorologists today — myself included — who were impacted by the movie 'Twister' and the role Bill played in that," Wetter told The Associated Press in a phone interview. " 'Twister' was kind of the first time in a mass media place the meteorologist became cool, if only for a little while."

Hillary Clinton Calls For 'Resistance': "We Need To Stay Engaged... I'll Be With You Every Step Of The Way"

Last month we noted that Hillary Clinton is looking to start her own “fabulous” TV show in an effort to remain relevant following a disastrous Presidential election loss in 2016. The show, according to an insider, would be “completely controlled” and will likely focus on undermining the efforts of President Donald Trump, while whipping her supporters into a frenzy.

Now, in a three minute video address to fellow Democrats, the former Secretary of State says she is going to keep the fight going with the help of former President Barrack Obama and his wife Michelle, who incidentally, recently started their own organization aimed at marginalizing the new Trump administration.

The challenges we face as a party and a country are real. So, now more than ever, we need to stay engaged in the field and online, reaching out to new voters, young people and everyone who wants a better, stronger and fairer America.
We as Democrats must move forward with courage, confidence and activism, and stay focused on the elections we must win this year and next.

Let resistance plus persistence equal progress for our party and our country.

…Keep fighting and keep the faith… and I’ll be right there with you every step of the way.

The Jeep overturned and ejected Cadet James D. Watts, 22, of the Camden-Wyoming area, who was a passenger in the right-front seat.

” Climate Change ” / Everyone is on One Side of the Boat

It has become religion to believe in global warming, excuse me climate change. In fact, apparently now it’s been shortened to just climate, as in “climate denier”. Uh sorry, but haven’t we always had climate? When did someone suddenly discover we have climate? The religion around “climate” is disconcerting enough, but the strident attitude towards anyone with an opposing view is frightening. There have been calls from “reputable” people to prosecute anyone with a different viewpoint. The “climate” scheme/racket has been built around fraud. In 2007, U.N. “scientists” warned we only have eight years left to deal with “global warming” – oops. (Back in 2007, global warming was the trendy term, now it’s climate change.) Also in 2007, U.N. “scientists” warned us that only carbon taxes will save us. Sound familiar. So they’re going to take totally fraudulent science, basically fake news, and cripple the world economy, just so the disgusting globalists can line their own pockets. And harm possibly billions of good, honest people in the process. While not warning of/researching a potential climate disaster awaiting us if the global cooling issue is the real problem.

The “science” promoted by the grotesque (in many ways) hypocrites who attend Davos, is generally being used to enrich themselves and their globalist elitist comrades. They could care less about climate change. But how they have gotten most scientists, universities, MSM, SJWs, and mainstream politicians in all countries to join in is beyond me. The ones who are doing it purely for the money is easy to understand (yet disgusting), but how about the others. Like those who are seeing zero cash flow from their zealotry. And what if the Earth is not actually warming at all? What if it’s actually beginning to cool – significantly? Is a new Maunder minimum staring right at us? Some villified and ridiculed (and brave and ethical) scientists believe so. Professor Valentina Zharkova has done some troubling research which goes far beyond the normal 11 year solar cycle. She and her colleagues are quite concerned about another Maunder minimum, which itself was part of the Little Ice Age, fast approaching.

Mardi Gras Crash Suspect’s Alcohol Level 3 Times Legal Limit

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The man who allegedly plowed into a crowd enjoying a Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans had a blood alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit, police said Sunday.

The New Orleans Police Department issued a statement identifying the man as 25-year-old Neilson Rizzuto. He’s being held at the city’s jail on charges of first-degree negligent vehicular injuring, hit-and-run driving causing serious injury and reckless operation of a vehicle.

The accident happened Saturday during one of the busiest nights of Mardi Gras when thousands of people throng the streets of Mid-City to watch the elaborate floats and clamor to catch beads and trinkets tossed from riders.

When Should Teens Be Tried As Adult?

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Luis Padilla remembers the terror he felt as a 16-year-old arrested on a robbery charge and locked up with adults in New York City’s notorious Rikers Island jail. At one point, he pretended to be suicidal so he could be placed in the relative safety of a locked observation cell.

“Even now if I see a Rikers bus, I start to get jumpy and scared,” said Padilla, now 23, who was released after two months and now works nights at a warehouse in Harlem.

New York and North Carolina are the last two states that still prosecute all 16- and 17-year-olds as adults in criminal court and house many in adult facilities. But changes may be coming.

The Empire’s Nightmare

Methinks the insane hysteria over Russia needs to stop. It probably will not. For reasons of domestic and imperial politics, the American public is again being manipulated into a war frenzy by Washington and New York. It is stupid, without justification, and dangerous.

The silliness over Russia is, obviously, part of the Establishment’s drive to get rid of Trump. Yes, the man is erratic, contradictory, shoots before he aims, backs off much of what he has promised, and may be unqualified as President–but that is not why Washington and New York want to get rid of him. It is about money and power, as is everything in the United States. Wall Street, the Pentagon, the Neocons, and the Empire run America. Trump has threatened their rice bowls.

Goucher Poll: Hogan Approval Rating 63%, Down From September

A new Goucher College Poll is out this morning, and it finds 63-percent of voters surveyed either approve or strongly approve of the job Republican Larry Hogan is doing as Maryland Governor.

Poll director Mileah Kromer says the 63-percent approval rating is the same as it was in poll in February of last year, but it is down from the 70-percent Hogan received in the Goucher Poll conducted in September.

Seventeen-percent of those polled disapproved of the job Hogan was doing and 20-percent did not know.

Breaking down the numbers by party, Hogan has a 52-percent approval rating among Democrats, a 91-percent approval rating among Republicans, and a 61-percent approval rating among independents.

Sixty-two percent say Maryland is heading in the right direction, 22 percent say Maryland is going down the wrong track, and 16 percent don’t know.

Pelosi: We Had to Take Your Doctor Away -- For Your Own Good

Then-President Obama and then-Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi pledged in 2009 that if you like your doctor, you could keep your doctor.

The two Democrats were bent on overhauling health care in the United States, but Americans were wary. Lots of them liked their health, and liked their long-time doctors. They were all for lower costs, but they figured that the people they elected would listen to that one demand: We want to keep our doctors.

"If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan," Obama said before the Affordable Care Act passed. (Politifact in 2013 named that statement "Lie of the Year.") Pelosi followed suit, and then made her bizarre argument that "we have to pass the [health care] bill so that you can find out what’s in it....”

Sanctuary City Outrage

Sanctuary City Update: Arizona Sheriff Releases Hundreds of Criminal Illegal Aliens

A crackdown on dangerous sanctuary policies for illegal immigrants can’t come a moment too soon. As with our most recent court challenge to San Francisco, Judicial Watch has been a leader (and often the only) legal opponent to sanctuary policies that ignore federal and state laws concerning illegal immigration at the expense of the public’s safety, the rule of law, and our national security. Now, with a Trump administration that might actually join Judicial Watch in going after sanctuary policies, the radicals in “sanctuary cities” are doubling down.

Our Corruption Chronicles blog has the details of dangerous sanctuary craziness in Arizona:

An average of 400 “criminal illegal immigrants” are being released every 10 days by the newly elected sheriff in Arizona’s most populous county, federal law enforcement sources tell Judicial Watch, many of them violent offenders.

It’s part of Maricopa County Sheriff Paul Penzone’s new policy to protect illegal aliens, even those who have committed serious state crimes, from deportation. Under a longtime partnership between the county and the feds, the Phoenix field office of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was notified when “aliens unlawfully present with additional Arizona charges” were released from the Maricopa County Jail, which is one of the nation’s largest with a population of about 8,000. That ended when Penzone, who refers to illegal immigrants as “guests,” took office this year and, though he formally announced the change last week, it was put into practice much earlier.

Anti-Trump Democrats’ Best Allies: Senate Republicans

So far, the Senate has confirmed 14 of the 549 senior federal positions that President Trump needs to run the government and who need Senate confirmation—Cabinet secretaries and people who run the departments, bureaus, agencies and the rest of the government. The rest of the government is being run by career bureaucrats and a few Obama holdovers.

There are another 120 vacant federal judgeships and, of course, the Neil Gorsuch nomination to the Supreme Court. Each requires Senate approval.

White House staff is busily choosing and vetting candidates for the rest of the positions, and there undoubtedly will be many nominations sent to the Senate for confirmation in the next several weeks.

And where is the Senate now? On vacation.

We hear a lot of talk that Harry Reid gave away the store when he exercised the nuclear option, and that Republicans have the 51 votes needed to get the Trump team confirmed. That may be, but with the way Majority Leader Mitch McConnell runs the Senate, Democrats can—and probably will—make it impossible to confirm more than a handful of nominees.

The problem isn’t the votes. Republicans have those. The problem is time—floor time.

As a senior Senate staffer told me this week: “Regardless of how many votes it takes to confirm or approve anything in the Senate, if Democrats want to force the issue, they can require a minimum of 30 hours to debate any nomination or any bill. Let that sink in. 549 vacancies, at 30 hours each, equals 686 days. If you subtract weekends, and add a nice vacation every few months, you are looking at never finishing this job throughout the entirety of Donald Trump’s first term. And this assumes they are in session around the clock and do no other legislative business, which is also impossible.”

Trump and Congress Should Grant Obama’s DNA Request

On February 13, Kim Jong-Nam, estranged half-brother of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, was preparing to board a flight at Kuala Lampur airport when two mysterious women sprayed his face with a toxic liquid. Kim Jong-Nam was DOA at the hospital and his DNA would soon become a factor.

“We need a DNA sample of a family member to match the profile of the dead person,” Malaysian police chief Abdul Samah told reporters, and “before we release the body we have to identify who the body belongs to.”

As Malaysian forensic investigators explained, DNA from a child, sibling or half-sibling would be enough to provide a “kinship match” and confirm the identity. This is a matter of hard science.

DNA evidence has solved many cold cases, freed the innocent, and helped courts convict those truly guilty of crimes.

On the other hand, DNA has never been applied to an identity question much bigger than the kinship of Kim Jong-Nam and Kim Jong-Un. Before a nation elects a president, the voters should confirm the true identity of the candidate. That has never been clear with the 44th president of the United States, who in his farewell address said in his twenties he was “still trying to figure out who I was.”

In 1965 the Hawaiian-born American’s mother Ann Dunham married Indonesian student Lolo Soetoro and Barry became Lolo’s stepson. As a radical Occidental College student, Barry could have simply adopted an African name in the style of Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee leader Stokely Carmichael, who changed his name to Kwame Ture. Instead, in Dreams from My Father, Barry claimed that the Kenyan student Barack H. Obama, who passed away in 1982, “bequeathed” him his name.

Sonnie Johnson: ‘Systemic Racism and White Supremacy’ Belong to the Democrats

Conservative commentator Sonnie Johnson slammed progressive politics for hurting black business owners and wrecking families in a fiery Feb. 23 CPAC speech at the National Harbor.

“What if I told you I actually agree with Black Lives Matter? What if I told you institutionalized racism is real in America?” Johnson said, describing how progressive president Woodrow Wilson believed America would be better “if the races were segregated.”

She continued:

"What if I told you institutionalized racism was real in America and came through a president named FDR? What if I told you that minimum wage [laws] was to protect white jobs from black workers, through unionization? That actually happened in this country. What if I told you that price controls put out by FDR actually bankrupted black farms? People who worked for themselves their entire lives were now forced to go to government and beg for welfare? What if I told you excessive taxation and regulation took these people that were newly-freed slaves already… and crushed those businesses?

“What if I told you that white supremacy is real in America, and it came with the very first gun law? That black people had no right to protect themselves from the KKK?” Johnson said to applause and appreciative “amens” from the audience.

'There are 15 terror tunnels under Gaza border'

Senior officials in the Israeli Security Cabinet and elsewhere said that Hamas currently has at least 15 attack tunnels which cross under the border from Gaza into Israel. The IDF had announced at the end of Operation Protective Edge that it had destroyed all attack tunnels-- these may, however, be tunnels built after the operation, as Hamas diverts cement allowed into Gaza for civilian reconstruction and uses it to build tunnels.

There have been a significant number of accidents in the tunnels, causing speculation about whether Israel has developed methods to cause tunnels to collapse, and what those suspected methods might be. Speculations run from man-made tremors to lower grade cement. The government has not answered questions on the subject.

Meet the terrorist behind the next women’s march

Here’s the left’s next great idea for bringing down President Trump: another women’s march. Which means another public instance of Trump haters shouting slogans to one another and mistaking it for constructive politics. What progressives need to defeat Trump is outreach, but all they have is outrage.

On March 8, organizers seem to be aiming for a different vibe than the librarians-in-pussy-hats element that made the first women’s march after Trump’s inauguration so adorable.

Instead of milling around Washington, organizers have in mind a “general strike” called the Day without a Woman. In a manifestopublished in The Guardian on Feb. 6, the brains behind the movement are calling for a “new wave of militant feminist struggle.” That’s right: militant, not peaceful.

The document was co-authored by, among others, Rasmea Yousef Odeh, a convicted terrorist.

Odeh, a Palestinian, was convicted in Israel in 1970 for her part in two terrorist bombings, one of which killed two students while they were shopping for groceries. She spent 10 years in prison for her crimes. She then managed to become a US citizen in 2004 by lying about her past (great detective work, INS: Next time, use Google) but was subsequently convicted, in 2014, of immigration fraud for the falsehoods. However, she won the right to a new trial (set for this spring) by claiming she had been suffering from PTSD at the time she lied on her application.

Oh, and in her time as a citizen, she worked for a while as an ObamaCare navigator.

Seeking refuge from violence

In her native Guatemala, Lidia was aboard a local transit bus when a group of gang members ambushed the bus and killed the driver.

Bus driver killings had become a common occurrence there, often used by local gang members as a form of extortion. But it was the first time Lidia had been a passenger on one of the targeted buses. She was seated directly beside the bus aide, who was also killed.

Lidia said she had a nervous breakdown. She feared the gang members would hunt her down and kill her, too, because she saw the crime.

So she fled, taking her baby, who was 8 months old, with her as she traveled north toward the United States. She had considered applying for a visa, but when the "trauma" happened, she didn't want to wait.

Manning: Sabotage of Trump Agenda by Bureaucrats Should Spark '10 to 20 Percent Reduction of Federal Workforce'

Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning wants Congress to help President Trump get rid of “rogue bureaucrats [who] are not serving the American people” by “cutting the personnel budgets of non-defense civilian departments and agencies, reducing the enacted full-time equivalent number for each department, agency and office by 10 to 20 percent reduction in the workforce on a last-one-in, first-one-out basis,” according to a statement released on Friday.

“By now it should be abundantly clear to the Trump administration that there are Obama administration holdovers in the 1.3 million non-defense, civilian federal workforce who have no other intention than to politically damage the White House,” Manning said.

Breitbart News has reported extensively on many ways federal bureaucrats who oppose President Trump’s policies are sabotaging his agenda.

Stockman: "After March 15 Everything Will Grind To A Halt"

Two weeks after David Stockman warned that "the market is apparently pricing in a huge Trump stimulus. But if you just look at the real world out there, the only thing that's going to happen is a fiscal bloodbath and a White House train wreck like never before in U.S. history" and exclaimed that, when looking at markets, "what's going on today is complete insanity" he is back with another interview, this time with Greg Hunter of USAWatchdog in which he, once again warns, that a giant fiscal bloodbatch is coming soon, and urges listeners to pay especially close attention to the March 15, 2017 debt ceiling deadling, at which point everything could "grind to a halt."

As Greg Hunter writes, former Reagan Administration White House Budget Director David Stockman says financial pain is a mathematical certainty. Stockman explains, “I think we are likely to have more of a fiscal bloodbath rather than fiscal stimulus. Unfortunately for Donald Trump, not only did the public vote the establishment out, they left on his doorstep the inheritance of 30 years of debt build-up and a fiscal policy that’s been really reckless in the extreme. People would like to think he’s the second coming of Ronald Reagan and we are going to have morning in America. Unfortunately, I don’t think it looks that promising because Trump is inheriting a mess that pales into insignificance what we had to deal with in January of 1981 when I joined the Reagan White House as Budget Director.”

Bromwell lifts men's lacrosse over No. 6 Gettysburg with overtime tally

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team hosted No. 6 Gettysburg College in the first matchup of top-10 ranked teams in Division III men's lacrosse this season and senior captain Brendan Bromwell scored in overtime to give Salisbury a 10-9 win on Saturday afternoon at Sea Gull Stadium.

Salisbury got the game's first two goals with Josh Melton and Corey Gwin being able to beat Gettysburg keeper Tim Brady who had 14 stops in the contest. For the opening strike at 11:45, Nathan Blondino took his defender behind the cage and received a pick fromCarson Kalama that got the defense out of sorts. In the confusion, Blondino found a cutting Melton who put it upstairs from seven yards out. Melton finished his day with one goal and two assists, while Gwin had two goals in the contest.

The scoring in the first half all came in runs and Gettysburg started its first run of the opening quarter at 9:08 before adding a man up tally with three minutes to play to tie the game at 2-2.

Silberman Attacks Ginsburg's Politicking From The Bench

Judge Laurence Silberman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit wrote an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal this weekend, criticizing his former colleague Ruth Bader Ginsburg for inappropriate interventions in political questions.

Ginsburg and Silberman served together on the D.C. Circuit, widely considered the second most important court in the country, for eight years prior to her elevation to the Supreme Court by President Bill Clinton. Given their close working relationship, Silberman’s public criticism of the justice is all the more surprising.

His criticism is trained primarily on remarks Ginsburg made during last year’s general election, when she referred to President Donald Trump as a “faker” and mused about moving to New Zealand should he prevail. As of this writing, Justice Ginsburg is still in Washington.

“Her comments were as openly political as any justice has been in my memory — perhaps ever,” he wrote.

More than 100 headstones damaged at Jewish cemetery in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA -- More than 100 headstones have been vandalized at a Jewish cemetery in Philadelphia, damage discovered less than a week after similar vandalism in Missouri, authorities said.

A man visiting the cemetery called police at 9:40 a.m. Sunday to report that three of his relatives’ headstones had been knocked over and damaged.

“The cemetery was inspected and approximately 100 additional headstones were found to be knocked over,” apparently sometime after dark Saturday, a police spokeswoman said in a statement.

A criminal mischief-institutional vandalism investigation will be conducted by the police Northeast Detectives Division, she said.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia lists Mount Carmel as a Jewish cemetery.

Israeli foreign ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon called the report “shocking and a source of worry,” although he added that he had “full confidence” that authorities in the U.S. would be able to catch and punish those responsible.

Arizona Senate Votes To Take Property From Protesters If Demonstration Turns Violent

The Arizona Senate approved a bill Wednesday that makes organizing or merely participating in a protest that ends up violent, regardless of who perpetrated the violence, an offense that could lead to the seizure of property.

The measure would essentially mandate that anyone involved in a protest in which others ultimately engage in violence can be charged with criminal conspiracy or racketeering, according to U.S. News & World Report.

The bill reads:

A person commits riot if, with two or more other persons acting together, such person recklessly uses force or violence or threatens to use force or violence, if such threat is accompanied by immediate power of execution, which either disturbs the public peace or results in damage to the property of another person.

Democrats Facing Elections Refusing to Hold Town Hall Meetings

As the media focuses on a handful of contentious town hall meetings held by Republican senators, several Democrats who face re-election campaigns this year have quietly decided to skip town halls to meet their constituents.

With the Republican Party in the majority, Senate Democrats are keeping a low profile in the hopes of giving voters fewer reasons to vote against them, the Associated Press reports.

State Department Memo on Media Leaks Gets Leaked to Washington Post

A report generated by the State Department on the threat posed by leaks to the media was leaked toWashington Post columnist Josh Rogin, according to his commentary published on Friday.

Rogin, who does not provide the memo or a link to the February 20 memo in his commentary, did give a link to the State Department official who allegedly wrote the memo, Richard Visek, acting legal adviser at the agency.

“The State Department legal office prepared a four-page memo for Secretary of State Rex Tillerson warning of the dangers of leaking by State Department employees,” Rogin wrote. “It promptly leaked, to me.”

“That’s only the latest sign that the relationship between the Trump administration political appointees and the State Department professional workforce is still very much a work in progress,” Rogin wrote.

The memo was entitled “SBU: Protecting Privileged Information,” according to Rogin.

A Viewer Writes: Trump's Slogan?

Joe,

This morning I was watching the 1939 John Wayne classic "Stagecoach" and a businessman uttered this: "I have a slogan that should be blazoned on every newspaper in this country: America for the Americans! The government must not interfere with business! Reduce taxes! Our national debt is something shocking. Over one billion dollars a year! What this country needs is a businessman for president!"

Obama Shuts Out White House Reporters Yet Again

White House reporters were barred from a meeting between President Obama and donors for the Democratic House Majority PAC on Wednesday, Politico reported.

Members of the press traveled with the President to the West Coast on Tuesday where he was set to attend the Senate Majority PAC fundraiser. But upon arrival, the media were reportedly left behind and prohibited from getting near the event. On Wednesday, while Obama met with donors from the House Majority PAC, the reporters were not even told where the meeting was taking place.

“We think these fundraisers ought to be open to at least some scrutiny, because the president’s participation in them is fundamentally public in nature,” White House Correspondents’ Association president Christi Parsons said. “Denying access to him in that setting undermines the public’s ability to independently monitor and see what its government is doing.”

NY Times Reporter Keeps Interrupting Sean Spicer. So the Press Sec. Fires Back with a Lesson in Manners

As has been the case since White House press secretary Sean Spicer first stepped behind the podium in the White House briefing room, Thursday's briefing was a raucous event.

As Spicer called on Bloomberg White House correspondent Shannon Pettypiece, New York Times reporter Glenn Thrush interrupted, continuing to yell out a question. Spicer was having exactly none of it.

As a Twitter user said of Thrush:
Spicer put Thrush's interruption in perspective:

“Glenn, this isn't a TV program. You don't just get to yell out questions. We're gonna raise our hand like big boys and girls. [Thrush continued to interrupt] Because it's not your job to just yell out questions. Shannon, please go.”

Both Spicer and Thrush were portrayed in a now-famous “Saturday Night” Live skit from early February, in which Spicer — mercilessly portrayed by Melissa McCarthy — put Thrush in his place: “Glenn Thrush, New York Times, boo...”
