Second Swedish Police Officer Blows the Whistle on Migrant Crime Cover-Up

"The public has to be told all the facts now"

A second Swedish police officer has gone public to blow the whistle on how authorities are covering up a migrant crime wave just days after another top cop was reported as a “racist” for making similar comments.

Last week Peter Springare, police investigator and former deputy head of the division for serious crimes at the police in Örebro, made headlines after he wrote a Facebook post in which he detailed how the country was in “chaos” due to a never ending epidemic of serious crimes being committed by Muslim migrants.

Springare may now face charges under Sweden’s strict hate crime laws simply for accurately identifying the problem after he was reported to authorities over the remarks.

Winter Storm Niko to Become a Northeast Snowstorm: Winter Storm Warnings Issued For Philadelphia, New York City, Boston

Winter Storm Niko will likely bring heavy snow to a sizable swath of the Interstate 95 Northeast corridor Wednesday night through Thursday. Some areas could pick up a half-foot or more of snow in a short amount of time.

The snow will make for a difficult commute and will likely trigger signficant flight delays Thursday in Boston, New York City, and Philadelphia.

Winter storm warnings have now been posted by the National Weather Service for all of southern New England, southward into eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and parts of northern Delaware and northern Maryland. This includes the Boston, Providence, Hartford, New York City and Philadelphia.

Winter storm watches extend into southern New Hampshire and coastal Maine and south into parts of northern Maryland north of Baltimore and Washington D.C., as well as parts of eastern West Virginia.

Contaminated medical marijuana believed to have killed cancer patient

A rare fungal infection has killed a California man undergoing cancer treatment and it’s believed he got it from medical marijuana, CBS Los Angeles reports.

The treatment left the man’s immune system compromised, but his death still surprised doctors because he was relatively young and his cancer was beatable. He was using medical marijuana to fend off the treatment’s effects. After his death, testing of 20 medical marijuana samples from across the state found the vast majority were contaminated with dangerous bacteria and fungi.

“It started with a couple patients that were undergoing very intensive chemotherapy and a stem cell therapy, and those patients were very immune-compromised,” explained Dr. Joseph Tuscano of the University of California, Davis Cancer Center.

The California man was one of those patients who was already in a very serious cancer fight. Then that fight suddenly became much more complicated with a relatively rare but particularly lethal fungal infection.

Records: Soros Fund Execs Funded Ryan, Rubio, Bush, McCain, Kasich, Graham in 2016

Employees of a hedge fund founded by the king of the Institutional Left, billionaire and Democratic Party mega-donor George Soros, donated tens of thousands of dollars to top Republicans who fought against President Donald Trump in 2016, donation records compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics show.

Soros Fund Management, a former hedge fund that serves now as an investment management firm, was founded by progressive billionaire George Soros in 1969. It has risen to become one of the most profitable hedge funds in the industry. Employees of the firm are heavily involved in backing political candidates giving millions upon millions to groups that were supporting failed 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton for the presidency.

But more important than the giant sums of cash funneled into Democratic Party and Clinton coffers is the revelation, thanks to the Center for Responsive Politics, that employees of the Soros firm—now run by his son Robert Soros—pumped tens of thousands of dollars into the campaigns of top anti-Trump Republicans over the course of 2016.

In total, executives with the Soros-founded company pushed $36,800 into the coffers of these GOP candidates just this past cycle. That does not include Super PACs or campaign committees, which saw tens of thousands of dollars more.

Md. woman says she was victimized by serial con artist after meeting him on dating website

BETHESDA, Md. - A con artist who has targeted women across the country has found his latest victim in Maryland. The woman you are about to meet thought she could trust the man she had been dating for two months. But then she learned the truth.

"He seemed very charming, has all of his stuff together,” she told FOX 5.

It seemed like love at first sight.

"We would go out to dinner or we would go to an NBA game and most people would just have their check card in their pocket, but this guy would have a wad of cash – I would guess $8,000 to $10,000 in cash," she said.

She thought their lavish dates and hours-long conversations were proof of his wealth.

"Wells Fargo bank statements claimed that he has $98 million in a high yield savings account,” the victim told us. “He has shown me deed of trust statements for very luxurious properties between L.A., Miami and even here. It's all fake.”

We asked her if any of this was a red flag to her.

“The fact that he was on his phone having business calls, it seemed real,” she said. “So yes, he is a professional con artist.”

Gravy Train Flows at Warren's Consumer Agency

The Daily Caller: Pay is flowing so generously at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) that hundreds of bureaucrats there receive more than most members of Congress.
The Senate majority and minority leaders are paid $193,000 annually. Two hundred and one CFPB employees outdo Sens. Mitch McConnell and Charles Schumer in pay.
Speaker of the House Paul Ryan of Wisconsin receives $223,000 per year, but that’s less than what 54 CFPB employees are paid.
Another 170 CFPB employees earn more than the secretaries of defense and state, the attorney general and the director of national intelligence. All cabinet salaries are capped at $199,700, but not at the bureau. Thirty-nine CFPB employees earn more than the $230,000 paid to Vice President Mike Pence.

Bill would block locals from raising minimum wage above state level

ANNAPOLIS, Md. —Legislation under consideration in Annapolis would block Baltimore City and other jurisdictions from raising the minimum wage above the state minimum.

This is one of the most divisive bills before the General Assembly. Lawmakers are split, and not along party lines. The public is conflicted with business groups opposing it and labor groups supporting it.

Members of the Baltimore City Council are outraged over the bill. A majority of City Council members want to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2022.

A rally was held Tuesday to oppose state government intrusion in local decisions to raise the minimum wage.

"The reason these great people have taken action on the local level is because we have failed to act in Annapolis, and they have failed to act in Congress," said Sen. Richard Madaleno, D-Montgomery County.

Study Finds No Market For Indoor Sports Arena, But Demand For Outdoor Field Complex

SNOW HILL – A study conducted by the Maryland Stadium Authority indicates that while there is a market for an outdoor sports field complex in Worcester County, there’s little demand for an arena or ice rink.

On Tuesday Susan Sieger of Crossroads Consulting presented the Worcester County Commissioners with the market and economic impact study relating to the establishment of a sports arena. The idea was originally put forward by Hat Trick Consultants of Texas, a company that expressed interest in bringing a minor league hockey team to Delmarva.

Sieger said a number of factors limited demand for an ice rink but stressed that there was a market for a sports field complex that could be used for both tournaments and recreation.

“There was a lot of interest from potential users,” Sieger said.

Counterfeit Money Reported In Pocomoke

The Pocomoke City Police Department is notifying the citizens and business owners of reported counterfeit $100 bill cases being reported within the City. Thus far, there have been two reported incidents involving counterfeit currency. The suspect is believed to be a black male with dread style hair, in his mid 20's.

The Secret Service offers the below methods to detect counterfeit bills:

Hold a bill up to a light and look for a holograph of the face image on the bill. Both images should match. If the $100 bill has been bleached, the hologram will display an image of Abraham Lincoln, who appears on the $5 bills, instead of Benjamin Franklin.

Looking at the bill through a light will also reveal a thin vertical strip containing text that spells out the bill’s denomination.

If you encounter what you believe is counterfeit currency, please contact the Pocomoke City Police Department at 410-957-1600.

Firms bumped as finalists for pot licenses fight for answers

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Two Maryland companies say the state is wrongly refusing to explain why they were abruptly bumped off a list of 15 finalists to be licensed to grow medical marijuana in the state.

Green Thumb Industries and Maryland Cultivation and Processing have asked a Baltimore judge to decide whether the state is abusing the “deliberative process privilege,” which allows internal deliberations among members of a state commission to be kept secret.

Assistant Attorney General Heather Nelson cited that rule in more than 80 objections to attorneys’ questions during the January deposition of Deborah Miran — the only person on a Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission subcommittee who voted against replacing the two companies with others ranked lower.

Raquel Guillory, a spokeswoman with the attorney general’s office, said the office doesn’t comment on ongoing litigation. “The appropriate forum to litigate this is in the courtroom, not in the press,” she said.

Watch the Super Bowl Ad That Was HELD BACK

Sunday night at the Super Bowl, the commercials were supposed to be one of the highlights. Companies pay millions of dollars to snag one of the coveted commercial slots, and usually, it’s when marketing firms come up with the best commercials of the year — the most unique, the most inventive, the funniest. But this year, the commercials fell flat, with a lot of political lecturing. Yet somehow, this Hyundai commercial got held back. Why?

Hyundai aired an ad, but they reserved it for a time slot after the game was over, when the New England Patriots had already won. They did it for a good reason, though: the ad was for American troops were deployed, and therefore would not be home for the Super Bowl.

The most incredible part about it is that the ad used footage from the actual game, meaning that the ad agency was still capturing footage and editing the ad during the game. And even better, Hyundai managed to pull off something really amazing: they made it possible for the deployed troops to watch the Super Bowl with their families.

Kellyanne Conway Just Got BAD News – This Isn’t Good…

This is rich. CNN is considering banning Kellyanne Conway because of credibility issues. This is over her ‘alternative facts’ comment and her ‘Bowling Green massacre’ slip. What a bunch of hypocrites. First off, on the ‘alternative facts’, I think she was providing political coverage for Sean Spicer. Not great, but hardly ban-worthy. As for the ‘Bowling Green massacre’ snafu, she misspoke and CNN knows it. They want to ban her in retaliation for the Trump administration freezing them out of interviews, etc. Which they deserve frankly, as far as I’m concerned.

These people employ such ‘credible’ sources as Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon. Both lie constantly and they seem fine with that. Wolf Blitzer is decent and Jake Tapper is actually good (most of the time), but come on! Then there is Fareed Zakaria, who is in a whole class of dishonesty by himself. What a joke CNN is. What’s more, I doubt it will bother Kellyanne Conway much either. She considers the source.

Elderly Vietnam Veteran Uses His 2nd Amendment To Protect Against TWO Thugs- 1 DEAD

To know that our young people today have no problem doing what these two tried to do to this elderly veteran exist…is brutally disheartening. However, to also know that we have the 2nd Amendment to protect those that truly believe in it’s purpose…well that’s just a story that needs to be told.

70-year old Vietnam veteran had no choice but to defend himself up against 2 thugs that had pulled a gun on him. He was legally carrying, and after that gun fight…there was 1 hero, 2 dead, and 1 who lived to regret it.

As this veteran was dropping off his friend at home, a car pulled up with a 19-year old and 23-year old male inside. They had begun to ask for directions and when he got closer they pulled a gun on him.

They thought he being elderly would be an easy target, and have plenty for them to steal.

Combatting State Puppy Mill Problem

BALTIMORE (WJZ)– Unknown numbers of dogs born in puppy mills in Maryland may finally get the attention they desperately need. Political reporter Pat Warren has more on a plan to require certain breeders to be licensed.

Puppy mills by definition are not a good thing. They are large scale breeding facilities that put profit ahead of the animals’ well-being.

Jim is one of 300 pomeranians rescued from a puppy mill in Wicomico County last year.

“Unfortunately we don’t know how bad the puppy mill problem is in the state of Maryland because our laws are so weak no puppy mills have to be registered with the counties in which they’re located and registered with the State,” said Chloe Waterman of the Maryland ASPCA.

Liberals Are FREAKING Out! Look Who Trump Is Sending To Chicago!

Well President Donald Trump said he was going to bring this country back to the days when it was based on law and order. It seems, it will be yet another campaign promise he keeps.

It was the executive order on the temporary ban of refugees and immigrants from 7 known terrorist countries, and now he has his eyes set on the one city in this nation that has been a hotbed of cries from Mothers and Fathers for their dead children, and senseless loss of family members as the crime filled streets of Chicago claim their loved ones…day after day after day.

It is a war zone, that has been ignored for far too long.

Earlier today the President ordered the ATF approving them to send in a special task force from Washington D.C. to Chicago.

They are to form a new and prepared Chicago Crime Guns Strike Force.

This Strike Force will be made up of the 20 of the top agents, which is going to be a significant increase in ATF presence.

It was only a count of 40 agents in the Chicago metropolitan area before this, and the order has been a complete shock to Mayor Ryan Emmanuel. He had reportedly told media that he welcomed the President’s help and furthermore even asked for more federal FBI and DEA agents to be sent for assistance in the fight against what has been this nation’s most unfiltered city of crime with death rates never seeming to cease or show any signs of decreasing….only increasing.

A spokesperson for the ATF released this statement on the new orders:

“ATF is exploring various options as we are committed to furthering law enforcement efforts in Chicago. One of those options is to send additional agents to Chicago on permanent transfers. ATF is still early in the process of developing strategies and will be prepared to discuss these options further once plans are finalized.’”

Cold and Flu Myths: Best, Worst Ways to Treat Winter Viruses

It’s cold and flu season and everyone has advice about how to dodge an illness — or treat it if you catch something. But a lot of myths persist about how best to treat winter viruses, including remedies handed down for generations that lack any basis in fact.

A prime example of a common misconception: Antibiotics help treat a cold.

“If you have a virus, antibiotics won’t do anything,” says Dr. Rebecca Andrews, associate professor of medicine at University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, Conn.

“You can’t treat a virus, but if you have a cold, symptomatic treatment helps. Stay hydrated because that thins the mucus and secretions. One tablespoon of honey will help lessen the severity of a cough, and steam inhalation — like in the shower — or leaning over a bowl of hot water, will help.”

Evanger’s Dog Food Recalled Due To Contamination With Euthanasia Drug: Wait, What?

How did a sedative used in euthanasia end up in cans of a premium brand beef dog food? The company behind the food, Evanger’s, would really like to know. So would the owner of three pugs that became sick and one that died after eating cans of Evanger’s Hunk of Beef.

Sodium pentobarbital is a sedative and sometimes used to control seizures and for insomnia in humans, but it’s most commonly used for euthanasia in cats, dogs, and horses, as well as other farm and companion animals that aren’t going to be eaten. It’s also used for human euthanasia in localities where that’s legal, and has been used for executions by lethal injection.

Some of the plates are mildly scatological — “OLDFART.” Others include abbreviations that are popular online, yet at least slightly inappropriate — “WTFOMG.”

Amazon’s Supermarket Of The Future Could Have Just 3 Employees

Amazon’s latest forays into bricks-and-mortar businesses — the recently opened Amazon Go convenience store, and “click-and-collect” locations for online shoppers to pick up purchases — are intended to be staffed by as few people as possible. But can the company actually operate a full-size grocery store with just three humans?

The New York Post, citing sources close to the matter, reports that Amazon is now looking to add to its Amazon Go convenience store concept by creating a two-story, almost fully automated grocery store.

The sources caution that the project is still in prototype and may never actually come to fruition.

A rep for Amazon told the Post that it has no plans to build a store like this.

The prototype stores, which would range from 10,000 square feet to 40,000 square feet, would have two distinct levels, one for customers and one for the company’s robot employees, sources tell the New York Post.

Tyson Foods Under Investigation For Alleged Chicken Price-Fixing

Tyson Foods, the nation’s largest poultry processor — and the company behind a dizzying array of packaged foods — revealed this week that federal regulators are investigating allegations of price-fixing.

The company — behind brands like Jimmy Dean, Ball Park, Hillshire Farms, and its namesake brand of chicken products — disclosed in a filing [PDF] Monday that it had received a subpoena from the Securities and Exchange Commission.

This subpoena, received on Jan. 20, is likely related to allegations made in a Sept. 2016 lawsuit brought against Tyson and other poultry processors. The plaintiffs in that complaint contend that, starting in 2008, the defendants “conspired and combined to fix, raise, maintain, and stabilize the price” of chicken in violation of federal and state laws.

According to the complaint, the companies “manipulated and artificially inflated the widely used Broiler price index,” and then concealed the actions.

Le Pen: 'This Election Is A Choice Of Civilizations'

LYON, France (AP) — French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen blasted globalization and Islamic fundamentalism in her closing speech Sunday of a two-day National Front party conference, calling them “two totalitarianisms” threatening France.

To applause and cries of “On est chez nous” (We are in our land), Le Pen served up the grand themes of the party that have made her a leader in early polls of the spring presidential election.

“We are at a crossroad….This election is a choice of civilization,” she said, asking whether her three children and other young citizens would have the rights and culture of the current generation. “Will they even speak our French language?”

Le Pen on Saturday unveiled her 144 “commitments,” a nationalist agenda that envisions a France unshackled from the European Union and NATO and that ensures work, health care and other services for its own citizens amid drastically reduced immigration.

Argentina’s Trump-Like Immigration Order Rattles South America

BUENOS AIRES — Argentina is so used to celebrating immigration as a cornerstone of society that a 19th-century saying — to govern is to populate— remains in use to this day.

But in an abrupt shift coinciding with the immigration restrictions put in place by the Trump administration, President Mauricio Macri has issued a decree curbing immigration to Argentina, with his government declaring that newcomers from poorer countries in Latin America bring crime.

The measures announced by Mr. Macri in recent days made it much easier to deport immigrants and restrict their entry, prompting irate comparisons to President Trump and igniting a fierce debate over immigration.

“A decree like this scares people,” said Arfang Diedhiou, 33, a Senegalese immigrant who runs his own clothing store here in the capital, Buenos Aires. “It came out just after what Trump did, a coincidence that seems very strange to me.”

Maryland’s highest court approves bail reform rule changes

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — After years of political debate about the issue, Maryland’s highest court approved changes to the state’s pretrial system on Tuesday to prevent people from being held in jail simply because they can’t afford bail.

The Court of Appeals’ seven judges unanimously approved the changes, which will be effective July 1. The changes mark the latest development in a growing push nationwide to keep cash bail alone from incarcerating the poor. They were approved after the court heard hours of testimony last month on revisions proposed by the state judiciary’s Standing Committee on Rules and Practice and Procedure.

“You need to look at what the defendant’s situation is, what his or her risks really are and attempt to fashion an ability to release on the least onerous conditions possible,” said Alan Wilner, a retired Court of Appeals judge who now serves as chairman of the committee.

12 top Republicans backed by Soros in 2016

Everyone knows about millions to Hillary, but here are GOP names George likes

WASHINGTON – Everyone knows about the tens of millions of dollars various George Soros front groups poured into Hillary Clinton’s failed presidential efforts in 2016, but the Republicans he supported – from Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan and his predecessor, John Boehner, have received less attention.

Republican presidential candidate John Kasich was also a big recipient of Soros largesse – to the tune at least $202,700. That makes Soros one of the Kasich presidential campaign’s top funders.

While the Soros Fund Management, just one of the Hungarian billionaire’s political tentacles, spent $224,300 on Democratic Party congressional campaigns in 2016, it also spent $31,400 on Republicans, including $10,800 on Ryan – the most of any member of the GOP, the same as it invested in Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer, a Democrat.

Other GOP congressional recipients of Soros contributions include Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., ($2,500); Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla. ($2,700); Rep. Joe Heck, R-Nev. ($2,700); Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio ($2,600); Rep. Ed Royce, R-Calif. ($2,500); Rep. Carlos Curbelo, R-Fla. ($1,000); Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa ($1,000); Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis. ($1,000); Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, R-Wash. ($1,000); and Rep. Dan Donovan, R-N.Y. ($300).

Is Soros The Source Of Funds Behind The "Muslim Ban" Lawsuits?

More than a dozen lawsuits and counting have been filed against President Donald Trump’s executive order that temporarily blocks visas from Iraq, Iran, Syria, Libya, Sudan, Somalia and Yemen. As of last Friday, one such lawsuit heard by Federal District Judge James Robart, a Bush appointee, in Seattle effectively blocked the enforcement of the executive order nationwide (see here for details: "Judge Blocks Trump Travel Ban Nationwide; White House Vows To Challenge 'Outrageous Order'").

Of course, mounting this scale of legal crusade is extremely costly, a concern which, as we noted last week, was seemingly alleviated by a massive surge in contributions to the American Civil Liberties Union. According to the Washington Post, the lawsuits filed by the ACLU prompted a tidal wave of donations which totaled over $24 million in a single weekend, or roughly 6 times the organization's average annual donation tally.

Evidence Suggests Trump Lost Popular Vote Due to Fraud

President Trump is right about voter fraud

WASHINGTON, D.C. –
Those opposing vigorous and truthful examination of voter fraud in the United States are advancing a narrative asserting there is “no proof of voter fraud” in recent years.

This past weekend, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-KY, said on CNN’s “State of the Nation” program that he does not want to spend federal funds to investigate President Trump’s claims of massive voter fraud in the 2016 presidential election because “there’s no evidence that [election fraud] occurred in such a significant number that it could have changed the presidential election.”

While McConnell may be right, there is evidence that would suggest voter fraud prevented Trump from winning the popular vote, as well as the electoral vote.

Debt-pocalypse Beckons As US Consumer Bankruptcies Do Something They Haven't Done In 7 Years

When debt grows much faster than GDP for an extended period of time, it is inevitable that a good portion of that debt will start to go bad at some point. We witnessed a perfect example of this in 2008, and now it is starting to happen again. Commercial bankruptcies have been rising on a year-over-year basis since late 2015, and this is something that I have written about previously, but now consumer bankruptcies are also increasing. In fact, we have just witnessed U.S. consumer bankruptcies do something that they haven’t done in nearly 7 years. The following comes from Wolf Richter

US bankruptcy filings by consumers rose 5.4% in January, compared to January last year, to 52,421 according to the American Bankruptcy Institute. In December, they’d already risen 4.5% from a year earlier. This was the first time that consumer bankruptcies increased back-to-back since 2010.

Suspect Killed In Police-Involved Shooting; Got Out Of Jail On Monday

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A police-involved shooting in west Baltimore left one man dead. Police said the 18 year old was no stranger to the law and he was just released from jail Monday.

Ava-Joye Burnett reports why police said this was a justified shooting.

The department says an officer’s life was in danger. A routine patrol in west Baltimore turned deadly Tuesday afternoon.

Baltimore police said officers spotted a vehicle driving erratically. One of the passengers eventually bailed and took off down an alley. When an officer cut around in the other direction. Police said he came face-to-face with an 18-year-old man with a gun, but it does not appear the suspect fired.

“This 18 year old suspect has been arrested twice in the past month with a hand gun and he was arrested once for another incident in the past month,” said Baltimore Police spokesman T.J. Smith.

Howard County enters 30-year deal for affordable housing in downtown Columbia

In the modern lobby of the Metropolitan, one of downtown Columbia's first major apartment projects, Howard County officials and Downtown Columbia master developer Howard Hughes Corp. signed a 30-year binding agreement Friday that sets the course for 900 affordable units in the heart of Columbia.

Officials lauded the agreement as a creative solution to the thorny issue of affordable housing that has embroiled the planning process over the last six years. Affordability is a bedrock principle of Columbia, where its founder, James Rouse, envisioned a diverse community in which janitor and CEO could live side-by side.

Councilwoman Mary Kay Sigaty, who represents the area, said signing the deal makes Rouse's words a reality: "If you want to live in my city, there will be a place for you and we will not be able to say no," she said.
