Video of Man Angry at Firefighters Goes Viral

  1. Don't all FD's have pickup trucks they could use instead of these bigger trucks? What other stops do they make with the bigger trucks? Are they beneficial to the public? What does the city say about all this?

  2. They Rarely fight fires anymore that's why they do medical calls.

  4. 1:03 PM thank you I was just gonna say the same thing. To be driving the fire engine around on errands is ridiculous and disrespectful to the citizens. It only takes one person to go grocery shopping, not a whole crew.

  5. They are on duty. If a call comes in they respond from the store. If they were in a pickup truck, they would have to go back to the fire house and then respond, wasting valuable time.

  6. How many firemen does it take to go shopping ? Looks like maybe 6 to me . Reminds me of the Salisbury fire dept. , so stupid.

  7. Fuel is only a fraction of the cost to run and maintain a fire truck. Each mile and hour put on the truck depreciated its value as well. The engines are gauged by hours run not mileage!

  8. That's like Salisbury fd . Except they do their banking and other personal stuff in them units . I watched pm 16 go to wawa at mid night cause they wanted a snack like how about wait for a call. They use to shop at gander when it was open and had deals and they go to Wal-Mart acme ritas and the list goes on . You wanna talk about misuse I bet they waste about 50,000 dollars a year of your tax dollars if not more. Rick hoppes swipes his city card at panera all the time and puts down as meetings and exc. He has bought my food there that's how I know
Waste a ton of money is gas . John tull dosnt need his vehicle he does not respond . Truck 1 drives to station 16 two or three times a day for dinner training meetings what ever it shall be which is a complete waste . In real stations they train at there station not abandon there district and waste fuel and wear on equipment and eat together in their station . So want to talk about waste investigate the city of Salisbury md .

  9. Did the man bother to ask if they were in the area. Maybe they just left a call. Really a gallon of gas is his concern. Now if they had shopped somewhere else they would be SOB for shopping anywhere but their home town. Cant please people anymore. Keep up the good work boys and i hope i never need you.

There's that word IF again. A mighty big IF unless they have a tremendous amount of calls that they would have to respond to while shopping. lol.

Regardless, IF one person in a pickup was doing the shopping and IF there was a call, one person would not make much difference if he missed going on the call, IF there was such a call.

I have heard that same crappy excuse for the ff's around here. You must be trying to strengthen up your own excuse for taking the big fd trucks on joyrides around here at the expense of this other FD.

Why can't you folks just be respectful of the ones who pay the tab and stop abusing the equipment?

Yes they do and there is a high probability that they won't be getting a call anyway.

It doesn't matter if they are on duty. They should do the grocery shopping on their own time or bring their food from home. Nothing requires paid firemen to cook food at the fire station and have to go out and buy the food while on duty.

And in this case they could have gone to a store that was closer.

You are correct. They do their banking, shopping, seeing their lawyer for baby daddy problems, run to the post office. run to 5 different places to get lunch because they all can't decide on one place, etc.

This person is 100% correct. I would like to add that John Tull doesn't respond to calls any longer so why does he have an nice Ford SUV? Why does Rick Hoppes have a nice Ford SUV when he doesn't respond either. Both he and John Tull live in the city not the county. Darrin Scott takes his take home car to Delaware. Why is that? If either of them decide to respond to a call they don't need to be responding with lights and siren. They could get away with driving their personal vehicle to the scene like volunteer officers do in the county. They are allowed to put a dash light in their personal vehicles as well.

Who cares if they were on a call. They are still out of their district and leaving it unprotected. The citizens deserve better.

Does that mean that it has to be bought while on duty for it to be good? I guess it would suck if someone went grocery shopping on their own time.

What would happen if all the police officers in Salisbury would head to the grocery store at lunch time and buy a couple of cart load of groceries and then they all showed up to fast food places together to get each of them food to take back to headquarters. Then at 5 pm all the police officers on duty sat down to eat a big dinner that one of them cooked all day for. What if all of the policemen did that every single night.

What if all the policemen had a bunk room and they all went to lay down for the rest of their shift and got paid to sleep until 7am the next morning. Would that be Ok with everyone?
