US Flying F-18 Surveillance Missions Over Iraq, Obama Reviews Options With Lawmakers

The United States is flying F-18 surveillance missions over Iraq from an aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf, officials confirm to Fox News, as President Obama weighs options for "increased security assistance" in the country.

The surveillance missions are being launched from the USS George HW Bush. It was already known that the Obama administration had authorized "manned and unmanned" surveillance flights, but F-18's are not traditional surveillance aircraft -- they are attack aircraft.

"It's not so much about looking as it is being seen," a U.S. official told Fox News.

On immigrant surge, White House story falls apart

At any other time, the growing crisis on the Mexican border, with tens of thousands of unaccompanied young people crossing illegally into theUnited States, might dominate the news. Yet the situation has received less attention than it might amid the furor over House Majority LeaderEric Cantor's primary defeat, the collapse of Iraq, the continuingBergdahl matter, and Hillary Clinton's book tour. They're all genuinely important news stories, and they've crowded out disaster at the border.

But whether or not many people noticed, this was the week in which the Obama administration's attempts to deflect blame for the border crisis fell apart.

Most of the illegal immigrants are what Border Patrol officials call OTMs. That is, while they are crossing into the United States from Mexico, they are actually from other countries -- in this case, mostly Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador -- and are classified as Other Than Mexican immigrants.

10-Year-Old White Girl on Scooter Called “Cracker” & Beaten on Sidewalk

Police in Cleveland are investigating an alleged “hate incident” in which a black girl attacked a white girl on a scooter.

Naturally, the attacker posted a video of the incident to YouTube–because these days, what racist beatdown is complete without a video?

No arrests have been made as of Friday after an attack on a 10-year-old girl riding a scooter on a Cleveland sidewalk earlier in the week — but police are investigating the assault as a ”hate incident,” Cleveland.com said, citing a narrative included with the police report.

Fair’s mother and father told WOIO that their daughter never said anything to provoke the alleged beating; the dad told the station that he tried talking to the 13-year-old’s grandfather instead of calling police…At the home of the teen who reportedly attacked Fair, WOIO was turned away. “Nobody was waiting,” a woman at the door told the reporter. “I don’t have to talk to you. It’ll all come out in court.”

City Baltimore Police Officer Accused Of Slitting The Throat Of Stray Dog

A Baltimore City police officer is under arrest after he is accused of killing a dog in a shocking way.

Rochelle Ritchie explains the disturbing allegations.

Police say while this incident remains under investigation, right now there is no indication the dog tried to attack the officer they say pulled out a knife and slit the dog’s throat. They are calling his actions appalling.

Baltimore City Police say around 9 a.m. Saturday they responded to a call of a woman who said she’d been bitten on the hand by a stray dog. Police are calling her injuries superficial, but it’s what one of their officers did next they call egregious.

'Hundreds' of illegal immigrant children are being handed to relatives who are in the US illegally too, as HHS admits it makes NO EFFORT to find out their immigration status

  • The US Dept. of Health and Human Service takes custody of tens of thousands of minors each year who cross the border without their parents
  • An official spokesman at the agency says there is 'no' effort made to determine the adults' immigration status
  • An HHS official says while the agency's first choice is to find each child a relative who lives legally in the U.S., that's not always possible
  • So some children are already being released to the care of illegal immigrants in their immediate or extended families
  • 'They're more concerned with clearing the caseload than with the immigration status of the adult sponsors,' the source said
  • 'Would you rather see these kids in glorified warehouses or reunited with a family member who doesn't belong here?'
  • A federal judge ruled in December that the Obama administration is helping drug cartels and human traffickers by taking kids to live with illegal-immigrant parents who pay smugglers to bring them across the border

Family Plans To Sue Morgue Because Grandma Wasn’t Supposed To End Up At A Medical College

Mixups happen, sure — you order something one way and it comes another, we’ve all been there. But accidentally sending the body of a loved one to a medical school, where it’s at the mercy of eager young medical students, instead of the final resting place the family intended… that’s a pretty major mixup.

Major enough that the family of a Bronx grandmother is planning to sue the morgue for shipping her body off to a medical college without their consent, reports the New York Daily News.

Woman Drives Into Motel In Delmar

A woman just drove through the Motel behind Thursty's, (Country Harth Inn & Suites). Police and Firefighters are on the scene. We're told the driver seems to be OK but the person in the room was on the bed and injured his leg.

When Is a Scandal Not a Scandal?

The IRS e-mail scandal is just the latest on a long list of offenses.

President Obama has flouted the law again and again — unilaterally rewriting the health-care law at least 18 times since passage; changing immigration law by executive fiat (after having explained that to do so would be beyond the scope of his constitutional authority); dictating that union claims should trump creditors in the GM and Chrysler bailouts; altering the welfare laws by regulation; making recess appointments when Congress was not, in fact, in recess; and many more. After each arrogation of power, critics have protested, “He can’t do that!” Yes, he can — because there is nothing to stop him.

What Obama has done is plainly unconstitutional — but there is no magic buzzer that sounds when a public official violates his oath to uphold the Constitution. Lightning bolts do not issue from the heavens staying the errant executive. The only guardrail that keeps our leaders from abusing their power is the vigilance of the people. Key to that vigilance is the press — so much the worse for us.

FIVE NEW OFFICERS GRADUATE FROM POLICE ACADEMY

Ofc. Bodine, Ofc. Gower, Chief Buzzuro, Ofc. O'Toole,
Ofc. Cooper, and Ofc. Hayes
(June 18, 2014) – On June 17, 2014, five new Ocean City Police Department officers graduated from the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy’s 72nd police academy class. The newest Ocean City officers are Officers James Bodine, Gary Cooper, Jr., Tonya Gower, Kyle Hayes, Jr., and Julianne O’Toole.

Officers were formally recognized as certified police officers of the Ocean City Police Department after 24 weeks of intense training. The recruit class stemmed from various law enforcement agencies throughout Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

Graduates from the OCPD consistently earn top honors from the police academy and these new officers held true to that tradition. Officers Bodine, Cooper Gower and O’Toole each earned the Physical Fitness Award. The Firearms Proficiency Award was given to Officers Bodine, Gower and O’Toole. Also, Officer Cooper earned the only Academic Achievement Award in the recruitment class earning a 93 percent overall score.

“We strive to provide the Ocean City community with the best and brightest officers that we can find,” said Ocean City Police Chief Ross Buzzuro. “I truly believe that our five newest officers exemplify that goal. Each of them are sure to be tremendous servants for our residents and visitors.”

After their graduation from the police academy, the new officers will enter into a nine week field training program. During this time, they will hone the skills they have acquired in the police academy under the direct supervision of a veteran OCPD field training officer. They will be routinely evaluated and critiqued on their performance and will train with the various shifts and divisions that make up the OCPD.

More On BOE Spending

I saw this post..........What Say You Now Wicomico Board Of Ed & County Executive?

Then I found this...

"Unlike MCPS' Board of Education, the Montgomery County Council doesn't issue credit cards to its members. Council spokesman Neil Greenberger says councilmembers pay with cash, submit itemized receipts, and only then are they reimbursed."

BOE in Montgomery county have credit cards but the county council does NOT. They are also in trouble for spending needlessly on things. I posted a story about it the other day. People were paying for high dollar hotels in DC because in rush hour it would take them to long to get there......... here is the link I posted the other day

Hang On!! We Need To Change A Few More Names

Here is an email sent to Clarence Page of the Chicago Tribune after an article he published concerning a name change for the Washington Redskins.

Dear Mr. Page...

I always love your articles. and I generally agree with them. I would suggest, as in an email I received, they change the name to the "Foreskins" to better represent their community, ...paying tribute to the di** heads in Congress.

Here are some other politically correctness to consider:

I agree with our Native American population. I am highly insulted by the racially charged name of the Washington Redskins. One might argue that to name a professional football team after Native Americans would exalt them as fine warriors, but nay, nay. We must be careful not to offend, and in the spirit of political correctness and courtesy, we must move forward.

15 of the Healthiest Foods

If optimal health is your goal, there’s no getting around your diet. Your physical health is a direct reflection of what you put into your body, and how you live your life in general.

Pre-packaged processed foods may be convenient, but cooking from scratch using fresh unprocessed ingredients is a must if you want to improve your health.

Remember that one of the keys to staying healthy is avoiding processed foods as much as possible. This means someone, you, your spouse, or someone else, needs to spend regular time in the kitchen.

Once you’re eating non-adulterated foods—foods that are as close to their natural state as possible—then basically everything you eat is a “superfood.” You need nutrients—all of them—and nutrients are found in abundance in fresh, raw foods.

Still, lists of specific items can be helpful to steer you in the right direction. So to help you get started, the following 15 foods are items I recommend you keep on hand so that you always have healthy key ingredients to choose from for cooking and snacking.

SunTrust Settlement To Bring $33 Million to Maryland

Maryland will receive $33 million from a nearly $1 billion joint state-federal settlement reached with SunTrust Mortgage Inc. over past problems with its mortgage servicing and foreclosure procedures, the Maryland Attorney General's office announced Tuesday.

The money is supposed to provide funding for loan modifications and other forms of relief over a three-year period. The state also expects about 1,200 Maryland borrowers to be eligible to apply for a one-time payment from a $40 million national fund. The fund is for borrowers whose loans were serviced by SunTrust and lost their homes to foreclosure between 2008 and 2013.

Maryland is due to receive the third largest amount of money of any state from the $968 million agreement, which involves 49 states and Washington, D.C., as well as three federal agencies, said a spokesman for the attorney general. The agreement includes a $418 million fine to resolve "potential liability" for originating and underwriting federally-insured loans that did not meet Federal Housing Administration requirements, as well as failing to identify and report "defective" loans to the government.

The solution to everything: slavery to the State

Government and mega-corporations work hand in hand.

Let me clarify that. Slavery to the corporate State. Government and mega-corporations work hand in hand.

The incurably naïve believe the State is beneficent. The government is kind. The government knows what to do. The government will solve society’s ills if we let it.

Of course, the government, in the form of NSA, is spying on everybody all the time—but you see, that’s not really the government. It’s a rogue element.

Sure it is. And rainbows will appear at any moment and the people of Earth will experience a galactic frequency that eradicates all impulses toward conflict.

To put it another way, people see what they want to see.

“Ahem, when I say ‘government,’ I don’t mean the CIA or the Pentagon or the FDA or the President’s national security team, or fraudulent federal scientists, or the whole lot of venal people in Congress, or corrupt prosecutors and judges or invasive bureaucrats or paper-pushing money-sucking desk jockeys.”

Of course not. Government is an idea in the mind of God.

Biden Secures Nearly $2 Million In Consumer Relief For Delaware In Ongoing Investigation Of Foreclosure Abuses By Banks

SunTrust to provide borrowers with loan modifications; foreclosed loans may be eligible for payments for past abuse

Wilmington – Attorney General Beau Biden today secured nearly $2 million for Delaware homeowners as part of a state-federal settlement with mortgage lender and servicer SunTrust to address mortgage origination, servicing, and foreclosure abuses.  Under the national $1 billion settlement, $550 million is earmarked for borrowers to provide relief to those who either lost their home to foreclosure or who are currently in distress under a SunTrust mortgage; SunTrust will also pay $418 million to the federal government to resolve its potential liability under the federal False Claims Act.

“We’re holding another financial institution accountable for unacceptable mortgage practices which contributed to the nationwide economic crisis that brought our economy to its knees,” Biden said.  “This action provides financial benefits to Delaware borrowers who were harmed by this bank’s foreclosure abuses and establishes tough new mortgage servicing standards it must follow to better protect borrowers.”

Fourth Turning Accelerating

“In retrospect, the spark might seem as ominous as a financial crash, as ordinary as a national election, or as trivial as a Tea Party. The catalyst will unfold according to a basic Crisis dynamic that underlies all of these scenarios: An initial spark will trigger a chain reaction of unyielding responses and further emergencies. The core elements of these scenarios (debt, civic decay, global disorder) will matter more than the details, which the catalyst will juxtapose and connect in some unknowable way. If foreign societies are also entering a Fourth Turning, this could accelerate the chain reaction. At home and abroad, these events will reflect the tearing of the civic fabric at points of extreme vulnerability –problem areas where America will have neglected, denied, or delayed needed action.” -

The Fourth Turning - Strauss & Howe – 1997

This past week saw an event revealing the cluelessness and ignorance of the linear thinking establishment. They are oblivious to the cyclicality of history and unaware of their precarious situation, as the mood of the country and the world portends their demise. Eric Cantor, the ultimate establishment neo-con Republican House Majority Leader, was crushed in a primary by a completely unknown economics professor, outspent by Cantor $4.9 million to $123,000. Cantor spent more at steakhouses than David Brat spent on his entire campaign. Cantor, a lackey for Blackstone, Goldman Sachs, Israel, and dozens of other mega-corporations, was the first House Majority leader defeated in a primary since the position was created in the 1890s. He won his last primary by 60%.

This was as big a shock to the Republican establishment as it was to the Democratic establishment, the mainstream corporate media establishment, and the Tea Party establishment that didn’t provide David Brat one red cent of their vast horde of contributions. They are now scrambling to generate a storyline explaining this unexplainable development as if it was entirely predictable. These wealthy, myopic, propaganda peddling, purveyors of the status quo just felt the foundation of their world shudder beneath them. Like a volcano, with pressure building within, the world as we know it is about to blow. Who gets devastated by the massive explosion and flow of molten lava is yet to be determined, but there is nothing the establishment can do to stop the eruption. This entire Deep State hierarchy has been developed over decades, as they have flawlessly implemented Edward Bernays teachings from the Propaganda  playbook.

What a surprise! Hillary Clinton says US should have a female leader

Hillary Rodham Clinton has told a German magazine that she will work to make sure the United States is led by a woman — even if it's not her.

Clinton told weekly Stern that the U.S. lags behind countries such as Germany, Chile and Brazil because it's never had a woman as head of state or government.

'We are way behind you in Germany on this,' she said in excerpts obtained by Reuters.

Currently, interlock devices are required only for first offenders arrested with a blood-alcohol concentration of .15 or higher or who refuse to take a chemical test, and for repeat drunk drivers.

The bill that was approved Tuesday and sent to the Senate requires the use of an interlock device for at least four months for a first offense.

Clinton tells of defense of child rapist in newly unearthed recordings

LISTEN HERE

Newly discovered audio recordings of Hillary Clinton from the early 1980s include the former first lady’s frank and detailed assessment of the most significant criminal case of her legal career: defending a man accused of raping a 12-year-old girl.

In 1975, the same year she married Bill, Hillary Clinton agreed to serve as the court-appointed attorney for Thomas Alfred Taylor, a 41-year-old accused of raping the child after luring her into a car.

The recordings, which date from 1983-1987 and have never before been reported, include Clinton’s suggestion that she knew Taylor was guilty at the time. She says she used a legal technicality to plead her client, who faced 30 years to life in prison, down to a lesser charge. The recording and transcript, along with court documents pertaining to the case, are embedded below.

Detectives Arrest Two for Burglaries and Firearm Thefts

Kent County, DE – Delaware State Police Detectives assigned to Troop 3 Criminal Investigations Unit have arrested two Harrington men in connection with numerous burglaries and thefts of firearms throughout southern and central Kent County.

Troopers began investigating a number of burglaries that were occurring in the Felton, Harrington, Houston, and Marydel areas starting in the beginning of May 2014. In the majority of these crimes, the suspects would forcefully enter the victim’s unoccupied residences and remove jewelry and firearms before attempting to sell the jewelry at local pawn shops. Daniel P. Everett, 25 of Harrington, and Robert Wright III, 25 of Harrington, were established as suspects in this investigation through the sales of the jewelry.

Shortly after two separate burglaries were reported on Thursday June 5, 2014, detectives conducting surveillance in the Felton area were able to locate Everett and Wright as they were leaving a development off of Irish Hill Road. Troopers followed the vehicle to a residence located on Upper King Road where they made contact with the two as they exited the vehicle. Robert Wright was taken into custody without incident. Daniel Everett attempted to flee on foot, but was quickly taken into custody without further incident in a corn field.

Both subjects were then transported back to Troop 3. The automobile they were operating was also towed back to Troop 3 and a search warrant was obtained. Upon conducting the search, a .44 caliber revolver was located in the center console and 17 other firearms were located in the trunk of the car. All the firearms recovered had just been reported stolen earlier that day. Through interviews with the suspects, detectives were able to locate and recover an additional 15 firearms that were stolen over the course of the month.

Daniel Everett (two white T-shirts, goatee) was committed to Sussex Correctional Center due to outstanding capiases until he was formally charged by detectives on June 16th for 11 counts of Burglary 2nd, 36 counts of Theft of a Firearm, and numerous counts of Theft and Criminal Mischief. He continues to be incarcerated at SCI in lieu of $56,050.00 cash bond.

Robert Wright (object in background, beard) was incarcerated at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $23,000.00 cash bond on charges of Burglary 2nd, Theft of a Firearm, as well as numerous other counts of Theft and Criminal Mischief.

Fighting back: Residents Force Feds To Scrap Plan To House Illegals At Va. College

The Obama administration Monday abruptly halted plans to shelter some of the children surging across the border at a defunct college in rural Virginia, as the White House has continued to see its efforts to house the children throughout the country be thwarted by opposition from local officials.

As many as 500 children were to start arriving this week at St. Paul’s College, a recently closed historically black college in Lawrenceville, Virginia. But the Health and Human Services Department’s plans were stymied, at least temporarily, after town and county officials objected to the short notice and complete lack of community input.

“We were stunned,” said Robert F. Pecht III, president of the Lawrenceville Town Council, who learned of the plan Friday evening. “We were told it was a done deal. The lease was signed, and that was it.”

Jury Finds Man Guilty Of Manslaughter In Friend’s Death; First Trial Ended With A Hung Jury

SNOW HILL — A West Ocean City man was found guilty of manslaughter and other charges for his role in the death of his longtime friend outside a downtown Ocean City bar in January 2013 during a friendly altercation that went terribly wrong.

After deliberating for just under an hour on Monday evening, a Worcester County Circuit Court jury returned with guilty verdicts on all counts against George Doran Nottingham, 49, of West Ocean City, including manslaughter, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and affray. Nottingham was charged in January 2013 for his role in the death of longtime friend Michael Post, 39, outside the Harbor Inn in the early morning hours during what began as a friendly dispute over a swiped cell phone and ended with Nottingham swatting Post outside the door, causing him to fall on the icy, snowy sidewalk. Post suffered a fractured skull during the fall that ultimately caused his death.

The bar’s 16 high-tech video surveillance cameras captured the entire incident from start to finish and the video and still images captured during the altercation painted a clear picture of what happened that fateful night. During the trial, no one disputed Nottingham struck Post, causing him to fall and ultimately fracture his skull. What was in dispute, however, was who was the primary aggressor.

"Cluster Of Central Banks" Have Secretly Invested $29 Trillion In The Market

Another conspiracy "theory" becomes conspiracy "fact" as The FT reports  "a cluster of central banking investors has become major players on world equity markets." The report, to be published this week by the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum (OMFIF) , confirms $29.1tn in market investments, held by 400 public sector institutions in 162 countries, which "could potentially contribute to overheated asset prices." China’s State Administration of Foreign Exchange has become “the world’s largest public sector holder of equities”, according to officials, and we suspect the Fed is close behind (courtesy of more levered positions at Citadel), as the world's banks try to diversify themselves and "counters the monopoly power of the dollar." Which leaves us wondering where are the central bank 13Fs?

While most have assumed that this is likely, the recent exuberance in stocks has largely been laid at the foot of another irrational un-economic actor - the corporate buyback machine. However,as The FT reports , what we have speculated as fact for many years now (given the death cross of irrationality , plunging volumes, lack of engagement, and of course dwindling credibility of central planners)... is now fact..

Republicans say they oppose corporate welfare --- they can prove it by killing the Export-Import Bank

"Crony capitalism" and "corporate welfare" are good rhetorical cudgels for politicians to wield, and increasingly Republicans use them against Democrats. But are they more than just rhetoric?

Some liberals argue that complaints about "corporatism" and the like are just vicious smears against Obama.

But these are real phenomena. There are government programs whose purpose is to subsidize large, politically connected companies. If Republicans want their rhetoric about corporate welfare to carry any weight, they've got some opportunities to show it.

Which brings us to an op-ed in today's Wall Street Journal:

Here's a neat trick: Ask a room full of congressmen what they think of corporate welfare. The scene will devolve into competing campaign speeches, each politician trying to one-up their peers' rhetoric. Now ask that same room what they think of the federally run Export-Import Bank. You'll only hear crickets — even though the bank is one of Washington's biggest corporate-welfare cash cows.

Update On Brooke Mulford 6-18-14

News is not what I was hoping regarding Brooke's scans... Her cancer has progressed and she now has a second tumor that is located at C7 (in her neck). Apparently it has been there since Feb scans (just prior to starting this trial). At that time I saw her thyroid area light up very brightly during her MIBG scan - I was concerned but was reassured that it was not NB and was lighting up because... she had missed a dose of her SSKI drops that protect her thyroid during the scans (she missed the dose because the scans were done last minute and the drops are supposed to start the day prior to the nuclear medicine injection. Then during her next set of scans in April that area lit up again but lighter and I was even more concerned because this time she did not miss a dose. Extra imaging was done in that area but radiologist again said was not NB. So today when it lit up again and yet more imaging was done in that area my gut told me this was progression and a call from Dr Maris soon after confirmed my fear. He said that it does look lighter than it looked initially and her tumor on L4 is also a little smaller. Because technically the progression occurred just prior to starting this trial and not while she was on it she can stay on this trial and that is likely what we will decide to do since both tumors seem to be responding. I will be meeting with Dr Maris tomorrow afternoon to discuss this more. They were able to get her in a little while ago to have a CT scan done of her neck and she is now getting a platelet transfusion back in the oncology day hospital. Tomorrow morning she will get a bone marrow biopsy. Please pray for my baby - progression is a very scary thing with this awful NB. I'm trying my best to be strong and holding on to the fact that it least seems to be responding.

The Innocence of Hillary

When the father of Tyrone Woods finally got a moment with the Secretary of State of the United States, she assured him that justice would be done for his murdered son.

“We’re going to have that person arrested and prosecuted that did the video,” Hillary Clinton told Charles

The video that the Secretary of State and past and future presidential candidate was referring to was a YouTube trailer for “The Innocence of Muslims.” The killers of Woods, Stevens, Smith and Doherty could rest easy. No drone ever came for them. The cops instead came for a man who uploaded a YouTube video.

At Andrews Air Force Base, Hillary told the families, “We’ve seen rage and violence directed at American embassies over an awful internet video that we had nothing to do with.”

At 2.0% Core CPI has caught up with the hot-flation of PPI removing the crutch of low-flation easement the Fed has been relying on. While Ex-Food-and-Energy is surging (well above expectations), the food index rose 0.5% in May after increasing 0.4% in each of the three previous months; and the index for food at home increased 0.7%, its largest increase since July 2011. This is all happening against a backdrop of real hourly wages dropping 0.1% YoY.

Does this look like the Fed has inflation concerns under control?

Russia Halts Gas Supplies to Ukraine

After weeks of worthless foreplay whose outcome was known from the beginning despite just as worthless EU middleman Oettinger assuring everyone a deal was imminent any second now, overnight we got the long-anticipated mutual defection outcome and - as we warned - negotiations between Gazprom and Ukraine/EU fell apart with the Russian energy giant halting supplies to Ukraine unless Kiev prepays any and all gas deliveries from now on. Gazprom said it hadn't received payment for a debt it put at $4.458 billion by the Monday deadline it had set. "Ukraine will receive gas only in the amounts it has paid for," Gazprom said.

The reason for the collapse in talks: Kiev wants to pay $268.5 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas - the price it had been offered when Yanukovich was in power - but, in a compromise last week, said it would agree to pay $326 for an interim period until a lasting deal was reached. Moscow had sought to keep the price at the 2009 contract level of $485 per 1,000 cubic meters, but had offered to waive an export duty, bringing down prices by about one-fifth to $385, which brings it broadly into line with what Russia charges other European countries.

SUSPECT CHARGED IN TWO HARFORD CO. BANK ROBBERIES - INVESTIGATION LEADS TO ARREST OF TWO OTHERS

(RISING SUN, MD) – Maryland State Police have arrested a suspect in two Harford County bank robberies last week and made two additional arrests resulting from the ongoing investigation.

The first suspect is identified as Joseph S. Tiller, 35, of the 100-block of Slicers Mill Rd., Rising Sun, Md. He is charged with two counts each of armed robbery, robbery, theft between $1,000 and $10,000, and second degree assault. He was turned over to the Harford County central booking center early this morning to await his initial appearance before a court commissioner today.

Also arrested as a result of the investigation, but not charged with crimes connected to the bank robberies, were Phillip Lockett, 39, and Malissa(sic) N. Miller, 28, both of the 800-block of Rising Sun Rd., Rising Sun, Md. Both are charged with possession of counterfeit currency, convicted felon in possession of a regulated firearm, convicted felon involving a crime of violence in possession of a regulated firearm, and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person. Both were taken to a court commissioner in Cecil County for an initial appearance.

Maryland State Police began the investigation on the afternoon of June 10, 2014, after a suspect entered the PNC Bank in the 2400-block of Whiteford Road, Whiteford, Md. The man handed a bank employee a note demanding money. He did not display or imply he had a weapon. The suspect left with an undetermined amount of money.

Just after 2:30 p.m. on June 12, 2014, a suspect with the same description entered the National Bank of Rising Sun in the 3500-block of Conowingo Road, Street, Md. He handed a bank employee the same or a very similar note demanding money. Again, he did not display or imply he had a weapon and left the bank with an undetermined amount of money. No one was injured in either of the robberies.

State Police investigators from the Criminal Enforcement Division issued a bank surveillance photo of the suspect. They developed information about a Toyota van possibly used by the suspect when he committed the robberies. Tips from citizens assisted troopers with their investigation, which led them to develop Tiller as a suspect. Their investigation also developed information that Tiller frequented the home of Lockett and Miller, who owned a van similar to the one believed to be used by the robbery suspect.

State Police investigators obtained search warrants for both homes and an arrest warrant for Tiller. The warrants were served by State Police late yesterday afternoon. Tiller was arrested at his home without incident. Troopers found a loaded handgun and drug paraphernalia in Tiller’s residence.

At the home of Lockett and Miller, troopers found a Toyota van believed to be the one used by Tiller when he committed the bank robberies. Other items recovered included a counterfeit $20 bill, a handgun, and a box of handgun ammunition. Lockett and Miller were arrested without incident.

The investigation is continuing. Additional charges are possible against all three suspects.

Cops can Access Your Connected Home Data

Your lights are off and your doors are locked, but if you've got a "smart home" system, you may be offering cops a window into your house.

Smart home technology is the latest craze among big tech and telecom companies, which are rolling out products that allow people to remotely control things like lights and locks and view footage from security cameras via mobile devices. Apple (AAPL, Tech30) became the latest company to get in on the act earlier this month, unveiling a new software platform called HomeKit that will allow people to manage their connected devices with their iPads or iPhones.

Type Of Drowning Kills Hours After Submersion

School is out, the summer heat is here and there are already local drownings and water accidents.

But what many parents may not realize is there is a form of drowning that's deceptive and kills over time.

It is called "secondary drowning" or sometimes "near drowning." It occurs when a child is submerged in water and comes out coughing and sputtering, and develops breathing problems later.

"They initially look well, and then over -- usually the first six to eight hours, but it can be as much as 24 hours out -- they can develop a lot of increased trouble breathing," says Dr. Erik Schobitz, medical director of the pediatric emergency room at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital.

Opinion: Bush's toxic legacy in Iraq

(CNN) -- ISIS, the brutal insurgent/terrorist group formerly known as al Qaeda in Iraq, has seized much of western and northern Iraq and even threatens towns not far from Baghdad.

From where did ISIS spring? One of George W. Bush's most toxic legacies is the introduction of al Qaeda into Iraq, which is the ISIS mother ship.

If this wasn't so tragic it would be supremely ironic, because before the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, top Bush officials were insisting that there was an al Qaeda-Iraq axis of evil. Their claims that Saddam Hussein's men were training members of al Qaeda how to make weapons of mass destruction seemed to be one of the most compelling rationales for the impending war.
