Delegate Norm Conway Full Of Craps

You might remember on August 7th, SBYNEWS posted a piece that detailed how Delegate Norm Conway and 9 other Democrats received money from casino interests in a way that appeared to run afoul of campaign finance law. Now Conway has doubled down with his casino cash buddies in a breakfast event in Annapolis.

The list of hosts include Governor O’Malley , #1 on the casino cash list, Lt Governor Brown, #2 Howard County Executive Ken Ulman and #4 Delegate Michael Busch. All told the group has been given over $40,000 in questionable casino contributions.

In addition, while the policies of the O’Malley-Conway team have driven over 8,000 jobs from the state, created very high unemployment on the lower Eastern Shore, and are making it harder for farmers and those in the poultry industry to survive, Conway has the gall to charge a minimum of $125.00 to attend his breakfast in Annapolis!

Those better be the best eggs in world my friend!

How can Conway charge $125.00 for breakfast?

He is supported by PACs, special interest money, and high rollers, which is demonstrated by his willingness to take casino cash. Make no mistake, the casino cash is only the beginning. When you go through Conway’s contributions one word appears over and over: Baltimore.

Delegate Conway talks a good game when he is on the shore, but his votes on higher taxes, more regulations, and aligning himself with Governor O’Malley who has raised spending by $10 billion in 8 years, tells me that he is a secure vote for the big money interests of the western shore, especially Baltimore.

Conway has been in elected office in one form or another since 1974! He’s been a Delegate since 1986. Think about that folks! What were you doing in 1974? What were you doing in 1986?
It’s time to wake up and realize that Norm Conway does not represent us in Annapolis. If anything, he represents Annapolis on the shore.

  5. Conway was my Sixth grade teacher. He used to go around hitting 12 yr olds with his ruler, which he nicknamed "charlie". He never hit me, but I never responded well to bullying teachers. He did hit a good friend of mine across the hands for talking in class. He was one of the worst teachers I ever had, and I went to school for 20 years, and have a doctorate. Never did see him own up to being a bully, and I will never forgive him for hitting my friend in 1969. Never understood how he could get continually voted in.

We have a wife beating, drunk driving, party changing mean spiriterd hothead right here in lower Delaware, but even with that common knowledge, he keeps getting re elected. Why? Be cause he reflects the same mentality and caliber of voters, that's why. Inept self servers lead the way for more corrupted souls.

  12. Corporal punishment is one thing, my parents spanked me. Hitting a 12 year old across the hands, with a heavy ruler, was something else entirely. He was a bully, and ruled with intimidation. I was a quiet, shy, extremely intelligent kid, in a new school, and it didn't sit very well with me. I am, of course, no longer that kid. The boy he hit and I are still friends, all these years later.

  14. Norman Conway and Jim Mathias are dangerous to the citizens of Maryland and should not be re-elected. Laura Mitchell and Josh Hastings both worked for their campaigns and they are both running for the Wicomico County Council. Laura Mitchell and Josh Hastings are dangerous themselves and should not be elected to the Wicomico County Council. Those two are very active in the Democrat Club and they hate anything that is conservative. That's why they are running for the County Council. It is the first move to take over the Council and ruin it like the Salisbury City Council. We can not afford to have another dysfunctional Council in Wicomico.

On November 4th Please Vote Republican

    Wicomico County Executive
    Bob Culver

    Wicomico County Council
    John Cannon
    Matt Holloway
    Marc Kilmer
    Larry Dodd
    Joe Holloway

  15. 2:39 - Just because you think it's o.k. for adults to hit little kids, does NOT mean "most of the people" think it's o.k. McCready is absolutely right as far as his referring to it as bullying. Not only that, but it's also a cowardly act and a form of assault.

  16. Ole Norm is bad news for the eastern shore. He has double dipped for years and years and was called out for it by National Taxpayers member - James Betts, JC Parker, and many other prominent citizens.

It is time for Norm to leave. He has become the poster boy image of a career politician that offers nothing for the average Joe Blow. The only thing that that the job benefits is him - and for that he has been rewarded handsomely for years and years.

It is time for Norman to go.

  17. It's one thing to not like a man's policies or current character Mr. McCready, quite another to offer up unsubstantiated behavior from 45 years ago. So let me do the same. Mr Conway was my grade school vice principal. I was not the best behaved child and found myself in his office more than once during my career at Pinehurst Elementary. Never once did Mr. Conway lay a hand on me or threaten me in any way. On the contrary, he treated me with a quiet but firm reserve and punished me according to my crime.

It's one thing to discredit a politician on his record or his current behavior, but to drudge up something he MAY have done 45 years ago as a young teacher fresh out of college?? That's pretty low Mr. McCready. There's plenty to attack Norm on these days, you didn't have to stoop to this.

I would guess that you had a different experience with him mainly because he wasn't in such a close-proximity job then. Out of ruler's reach, shall we say? Just because you don't like what's being said doesn't make it not so. People's past gets brought up all the time; in this case, I think it speaks volumes about his character/true nature.

Funny how you can bash Mr. McCready for bringing up some possible facts about his Nazi style behavior, but then you can come on here and claim that he was a Saint as a school teacher. As a matter of fact your claim is an unsubstantiated behavior and you have no credibility. At least Mr. McCready signed his name and that is more credibility than you hiding behind anonymous.

Funny this is how all Democrats operate. They bash conservatives for stating something and then they claim their comments are gospel.

You people are rogue dirt bags.

He was against the casinos because a good Republican by the name of Bob Ehrlich proposed passing legislation for casinos and profits going to schools. Norman Conway, Mike Miller and Mike Busch, all Democrats with power were against the legislation because the money from casinos would be on the backs of school children. This was horrible legislation.

Then the idiot Democrats with dirty politics forced a good Republican out of office and put the worst dirt bag Governor in the history of Maryland in office. He then proposed casinos and all of a sudden Norman Conway and all the Democrats thought it was such a great idea. How soon the idiots called Democrats forgot.

  32. Norman and Jim Mathias have been grooming Josh Hastings now for several years. He has a serious knack for lying just like all Democrat politicians.

Josh Hastings attended my church service in Powellville a couple of weeks ago. He sat in the service and then he was asked if he wanted to speak. He went on to say that he was pro farmers and other things he thought you wanted to hear. After the service several people were talking to him and he said that he was an independent, but only filed to run as a Democrat.

  33. 7:04 this post is about Conway, not Hastings. Stick to the subject. Hastings isn't as evil as you make him out to be. If you want to discuss Hastings, send Joe a letter to the editor so his opponents, as well as his proponents, can chime in on the topic.

  34. The comment about Norm and his ruler in the classroom wasn't unsubstantiated. It was from someone who said he was there in person and viewed the behavior. Of course 45 years ago he didn't have a smartphone to record the episode but that does not undercut his story.

What it does do is shed some light on Norm's past behavior when he was entrusted with teaching young students.

I grew up in an era when the 'board of education' could be applied to a student by an administrator, and see/saw times and places where that might be an effective method of getting students to alter behavior. But just walking around a classroom and whacking kids? Don't think so!

  38. Make it a point to NOT vote for ANY democrat.
They are masters at lying and their platform is designed to do nothing more than to keep people down.
Take for instance their stance on immigration. This isn't 1900 anymore and in order to progress, immigration needs to be restricted and not this free for all we are currently experiencing.
All immigration means anymore is a constant stream of workers willing to take the low paying jobs. This guarantees that the current employees of like the Perdue slaughter houses, will never see an increase in their wages. This ends up affecting everyone because these workers can't afford homes and are also being supplemented with welfare benefits. They don't pay income taxes so the politicians have to dream up other ways to get revenue such as the flush tax.
It's time to show all the democrats the door. They do not deserve to be breathing the same air as the good people of the Eastern Shore. They have accomplished nothing except to continue to bring blight on the area.
