Each of you work for US yet we get after the fact responses, closed door sessions, continued requests for expenditures that provide little (how many millions for convention center expansions), belittling of citizens during open forum time and total enjoyment during the summer when real work must be done from May until Sept.

Why hasn’t anyone come forward to expose the town council/town employees as the ones who waged a coordinated campaign of flagging the video from multiple IP addresses in order to get YouTube’s algorithm to take the video down? Somehow they seem to think that if we can’t see the video that this will fade and ocean city will go back to being a fun, safe, family friendly resort town... it is absolutely disgusting that all of our officials only care about saving face/the towns reputation, even though that went out the window years ago... the AG should do a full investigation into the towns cover-up, as this is just as bad Chris Christie’s bridgegate in New Jersey years ago. Absolutely criminal. Btw, for all you naysayers, this is absolutely a factual event and can be easily proven with a FOIA request for the web traffic of the town’s computers today. If the request is limited to the URL’s visited during this 24 hour period without user information then there aren’t any privacy concerns that would stop the request. You’re welcome, good luck.

ReplyDeleteThese are not monitored video sources (too many for that). It's continued recording that can be searched IF an event happens and it helps prosecution of criminal behavior while defending against bogus property suit claims. While it doesn't stop bad behavior from happening, it makes it easier to pursue the perps after they decided to break laws. It might actually help if the Town advertised these cameras as a deterrent to those considering breaking the law.

DeleteTo give you all context. This was the other incident that happened Wednesday night 6/9 on 15th street. This poor man was stabbed and stomped on. The police responded within 5 minutes of the incident. However, all week their presence was sparse while I was there. The young man got pulled away in an ambulance and no one, but the boy in the tie dye shirt, tried to pull the other men away. On lookers at the Courtyard Marriott could only shout, call the cops, and watch in terror. To go down and intervene would have been very dangerous, even with a weapon. This was a large group of kids acting together.
ReplyDeleteAll week we ran into multiple groups smoking pot openly and drinking alcoholic beverages freely on the boards. It was a bit alarming. Senior week should absolutely constitute more police presence, in my humble opinion.

ReplyDeleteThey have the ability but not the staffing to watch ALL the camera ALL of the time because too many people go to the boardwalk to be seen and become famous. The Town would be better off advertising its surveillance capabilities as a deterrent to people's stupidity. Same goes for the busses. Every driver is a set of eyes for law enforcement. Every bus has radio communications.

ReplyDeleteI was a very middle of the road kind of person but in the last ten years I have started hating the Thug Culture. I can not say I hate all Blacks because that just is not true. I do hate Thugs though. There should be a hunting season at least twice a year for thugs. Kill the bloodlines.
There are open hunting areas for thugs they are called Sanctuary Cities. The only set back is is you have to be Black and you have to kill another Black..Since 1980 over 260,000 young Black men have died at the hands of other Black men. Yet there is no hue and cry by Black America. It is the White mans fault according to BLM. Blacks need to take a hard look at their race and clean up their own back yards before they finger point at the police or White America. So I guess I will have to wait for the Big Show. Remember what happened when we played cowboys and Indians. Same out come here. If you keep pushing you ignorant Rhetoric it will come. Good Americans are sick of your tired old weak ass lies.
