Man, 53, who led protests against Maryland lockdown while refusing to wear a mask tests positive for coronavirus and says he won't help with contact tracing efforts

A Maryland man who has helped organize 'reopen' protests against measures intended to slow the spread of the coronavirus says he has been sickened with COVID-19.

Tim Walters, a co-founder of the ReOpen Maryland movement, announced this week on social media that he has tested positive.

'I was diagnosed yesterday at the ER with COVID-19 and here I am months after not wearing a mask at rallies, churches and so on and so it's funny how capricious this thing is,' he said in a Facebook video.

  1. Can you say Darwinism? On a serious note, screw this guy. How many cases and potential deaths is he responsible for?

    1. 10:32. None because we are all going to be exposed. There is no containing this virus.

  5. This whole thing is a farce to ruin the economy . Wake up and smell the coffee. Only .05% of people who contract this will die and God Bless them but they were already sick and dying already

He isn't responsible for anything. What is it with you people who think everyone is responsible for you? You and you alone are responsible for yourself and don't you dare ever forget it. And if you God forbid happened to have multiplied be sure to teach your spawn better then what raised you did. Again it's called being responsible for yourself and not being dependent on others. It's no wonder you people will be stressed out peons your whole life.

Make sure to tell your loved ones Good Bye as opposed to See You Later because soon very soon at least one isn't coming home to you. God is going to punish you big time and that you can bet on Yes you can bet on it. So say your Good Byes

  11. The evidence is overwhelming that if everyone wears a mask in public, the rates of infection will come down. Look to the falling rates across Europe and Asia to see the effect of mask wearing and social distancing. Only in America would mask wearing turn into some kind of us or them political statement. We barely achieved a nationwide plateau in cases before states decided to start reopening without meeting even minimum guidelines (falling cases for 14 days) and now we are seeing an incredible upswing in cases across the south and west. Europe is now banning Americans from travelling there. The longer individuals refuse to social distance or wear masks, the longer this virus will plague us and the longer it will take to truly open the economy again. This is not about Freedom or political party or Donald Trump. Wearing a mask is about the health and welfare of yourself, your families and your fellow citizens. 11:32 thinks that I (you) should be responsible for myself (yourself) and no one else. Well that is just plain wrong. We will only beat this virus if we ALL take responsibility for ourselves and those around us. It's not hard. Don't be selfish or just plain stupid.
WEAR A MASK in PUBLIC PLACES. Thank you.

    2. Masks do nothing. Ask a smoker to light a cigarette, put a mask on and then exhale. Where will the smoke come out? Everywhere 1:12. When inhaling, will the air pass through the mask or around the sides, where there is no restriction? Your mask wearing sheeple are idiots.

  12. What the hell does the simple commercials mean by “we’re all in this together” I’m isolated here alone and don’t like it one bit wondering if this is going to be a life style forever. And that crap comes on, saying in it together, I’m looking around and not a darn sole here. I’m light on my feet and easy to meet. Now the Chinese Flung has beat the crap outta me. Never again will I go to China for won tons or anything else of theirs if I know about it. Make American so we can buy American. Especially our meds.

  13. 2:06. Yes. It’s my opinion. Just like all the comments here are people’s opinions. So I will reiterate my opinion. Please wear masks in public. Protecting ourselves and protecting others is everyone’s responsibility. Wear a mask in public. It’s not hard.

  14. @1:12 Oh soon you'll see nothing but masks in public. Though it won't be surgical masks, it'll be the kind the insurgents wear during a armed revolution.

  15. Common Sense, please. Wear a mask when out and about. Try not to gather in a cluster of people. The Corona virus is deadly. Some people who have it are a symptomatic and while not sick themselves can infect others. Please be safe and not sorry.
