  2. I hope the mayor and the chief will not bow down to the pressure in other cities across the country. This behavior can't be tolerated. Where did these people come from?

  3. Just a few words ACT FASTER.

  4. Instead of being reactive get off your ass and be proactive

  5. I thought those license plate readers were to alert you of criminals entering town.

Hows that working out for ya?

  6. Its the same story from the government officials in this Town. First and foremost this is what you get for advertising in inner cities. Secondly you need to wake up and stop believing OC is a family resort. The longer you truly believe that lie the more you fail at making it a family resort. This town is not a family resort. The lack of police presence is unacceptable. Why don't you all study successful family resorts and pattern your laws and ordinances after them. In addition follow the laws and ordinances to the max.

  7. What's he going to say about tonight's thugs, tomorrow's thugs and next week's thugs? Moreover, what's he going to DO??

  8. 12:18 PM - These readers can read all the plates but, if a tag# hasn't been reported as a result of a crime, there is no reason to flag that car. Other thugs can arrive on Shore Transit buses undetected.

  11. Soon families will stay away due to the feral thugs now emboldened by all the pandering. Once the revenue drys up OC will quickly change its tune

  12. I've heard so much crap and b*tching about the Cruisers & Hot Rodders. My family and extended family have enjoy those weekends for years but yet, The Mayor & Police allow this type of lawlessness to remain unchecked.
Never have I seen any of this behavior with the Cruisers & Hot Rodders.
O.C. has become a Vacation Spot for the Inner City Thug Crowd.
You won't have to worry about us coming back to O.C. with our cars or Our Cash..!

  14. Words...that's it....just hollow, empty POLITICIAN words! IF you truly gave a rats ass about these folks, then WHY all the time it took for all these Animals to gather, and start building an even larger crowd, then the fight lasting 4 minutes on video, and even after the fight, the crowds were still hanging around....come on, don't play us! You've obviously told your police to stand down in hopes that this crap wouldn't happen. Well thats just a taste of the "civility" our police have to deal with EVERY day! Let them do their work, quit taking sides, and support yoy're city's police! It seems the people that are really bringing true tax revenue to your town are the only ones paying the price, but the law biding vacationers are NOT gonna continue patronizing OC. They'll just find find another town that's safer. These thugs aren't spending money here. WAKE UP!

  15. Shoot to kill , the bullshit is over folks , get rid of this cancer before it grows anymore.

  16. Will not be going to OC.

  17. On your watch Rickie

  18. Yeah, just like every fall when the pissant car group takes over “we’re gonna do something!”. Ricky is totally lost, just there for the ride. Fish, or better yet Harry Kelly would have rocked this problematic group right in jail, or back to the hole they came from!

  19. Rick,

Stop playing around and consider the following:

    1. Immediate curfew from now until November 15 on all persons under the age of 21. Curfew time will be 8 pm - 6 am unless accompanied by an adult/ parent or in a work situation that they can provide proof of.
    2. ACTIVE and visible patrols to engage trouble makers as needed
    3. Engagement with local/ regional allied partners as needed
    4. IMMEDIATE media campaign on social and traditional modalities of a zero tolerance policy

    ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!! DO SOMETHING!!!

    2. 3:29 - slick rick reads this post as does the council, but you are correct in that most come here to vent. That being said, I skipped Hannity and sent it WTOP. I’m sure I was not the only one

  22. Wildwood NJ is the place to be. More well behaved educated people. Safe for all and plenty to do and see.

  23. I personally watched 20 bike patrol officers charge across the field and harass some kids hanging out on 4th street, then proceed to practice skid stopping on their little bicycles to further intimidate the public trying to use the park.
Meanwhile on the boards, the punks get away with this crap.

  24. They were WARNED because I, for one, warned them!!! Where on earth were they during this horrible fight???

    ReplyDelete
  25. Most likely taking a knee when he put that out.

    ReplyDelete
  26. 3:06 Please send it. The Mayor has proven time and again he and the council won't do anything. Except run their businesses and take care of themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Reads an awful lot like " I'll be out there tonight on a dropped knee"

  28. How about an apology for the FAILURE of OCPD?

    Huh?

    How about them apples?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Police should have been THERE working on it WHEN it happened !!!

  30. Yuck, yuck, yuck. Yeah right!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yeah, OK Rick.

    What a clown.

    ReplyDelete
  32. When good people have had enough, it will be ugly, but over quickly!

    ReplyDelete
  33. If he was being truthful, he'd acknowledge he's following in Cu and Hogan's footsteps.Instead of calling it what is, pussyfooting around the title of 'criminals' he says disturbing conduct. What a crock. No balls,no spine. Now's the time to send the cops home dumbass. If the folks in O.C. are smart they'll can his ass next vote and find someone with the balls to keep order.

    ReplyDelete
  34. NEWS FLASH! I know for a fact the police were told to stand down after the event last week accusing the officer of brutality. The thought was to let the public see what happens when the police aren't there. Additionally, the Chief didn't want to put his officers at risk. This is what happens folks. Rick knew this was coming and was very vocal "let them beat up each other", not our officers.

  35. Northwest Woodsman: Conspicuously absent is the term “youths” as though all this disruption and violence was the result of normal peace loving citizens spontaneously attacking each other while strolling the boardwalk on a summer evening. Everyone knows what the problem is so why not state it and take action to resolve it. Must normal families shy away from the enjoyment of summer evenings at the beach for fear of violence by a specific group? This must have a severe impact on local businesses. Even armed, I would not go near the place for fear that I would end up in a jackpot with some thug and I would not want to go through the legal process.

    ReplyDelete
  36. He can't ever control tire-squealing 4-bangers with loud mufflers. Like he's going to control thugs on the boardwalk. Get real. The paper tiger has no teeth.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Rick has never filled the previous mayor’s shoes, but who’s next in line? A 25 yo liberal James?

    ReplyDelete
  38. If it won't be tolerated, WHY does it keep happening?

    ReplyDelete
  39. my days in ocean city are all done. the violence is tolerated and regarded as normal behavior. the animals are on the loose. since the police are scared and seldom seen (unless they are writing parking tickets) maybe they should be defunded. just continue to let the anarchy reign. i hope oc doesn't ever proclaim itself as a family town again.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yeah, sure you will. Pack your bags, you're on your way out.
