OC Car and Truck show 2020 called off, won’t come back

It’s adieu for the Ocean City Car and Truck show, after the coronavirus killed its chances of coming to the resort in 2020 and beyond.

The virus will most likely also affect this year’s Jellyfish Festival schedule as well.

“The decision was really difficult to cancel the OC Car and Truck show — it’s my longest running automotive event, and it would’ve been in its 20th anniversary year,” said Brad Hoffman, event founder and Live Wire Media owner.

The annual car show, typically held at the Ocean City convention center at 40th Street, is a car builder and a car culture enthusiast’s fever dream, as it features an array of hot rods, muscle cars, tuners, trucks and exotics.

    Springfest (1974)
    Memorial Day
    4th of July

    And that was it.

This year just Memorial/4th/Labor day cuz NOTHING else will be happening - to include vacationers.

  2. Weather report for this weekend is suppose to be nice. Should make for an interesting scene on the beach AND how trespassers will be handled.

  5. They are probably worried they will have guns drawn on them, or arrested for squealing their tires, or revving their powerful engines. High performance car enthusiasts will all be wise to avoid OC with their gatherings in the future. OC has made it clear they are not welcome (H2O).

  6. Glad they canceled. This manufactured crisis was just the reason for them to cancel their contract without penalty. They are also tired of continuous stricter regulations by these communist Politians.

    1. I remember the terrible day when Polit went communist. Sad day indeed. The Politians (people of Polit) are going to be lonely without the car show.

  7. Soon no one will come to OC. People will not be able to rent their condos. Which means OC real estate will be worthless. All you old people will be happy and OC will be a ghost town. Then with no tourism tax dollars they will raise property taxes. I hope all you complainers realize this. Good luck with your worthless property.

  10. Memo up from OC saying they hope 4th of July this year is like a traditional Memorial Day, and then July/August is close to normal...but also says in same memo most bars and restaurants won’t be able to open, and if they do, it will be in a limited capacity.
