Dem Senator: Believe in Climate Change Like a Religion

Sen. Mazie Hirono (D., Hawaii) on Tuesday called for liberal activists to believe in climate change as if it were a "religion."

Hirono said on Tuesday that liberals will need to show zeal for environmental issues if they are going to defeat President Donald Trump in 2020. At an event hosted by the Center for American Progress, Hirono told the audience to "Believe in climate change as though it's a religion, it's not, it's science."

"Get people out to vote, so that we can have people here who truly are committed to human rights, environmental rights," Hirono said at the event.

ZING! Devin Nunes Reminds World That Schiff Tried to Get Naked Trump Photos with Russian “Olga Buzova”

Rep. Devin Nunes DESTROYED Democrats and Adam Schiff on Wednesday with an EXPLOSIVE opening statement in the Schiff impeachment show trials.

Nunes DESTROYED Schiff for his many, many lies during the Russian collusion and now the low-rent Ukrainian hoax.

Republicans Laugh at Schiff’s Outrageous Claim He Doesn’t Know Name of “Whistleblower”

Republicans House Members in the room for Wednesday’s Intelligence Committee public impeachment inquiry hearing laughed when committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) claimed he does not know the name of the whistleblower whose anonymous second-hand claim of misconduct by President Trump with regard to Ukraine instigated the partisan impeachment process by Democrats.

Schiff was challenged by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) on whether Republicans would be allowed to question the whistleblower, saying Schiff knew their name and that Schiff’s staff had met with them. Schiff denied knowing the name.

The reaction by Republicans was reported by Alex Miller of Newsy, “Schiff says he doesn’t know the identity of the whistleblower, entire front row of republicans laugh.”

Chuck Grassley: If the Inspector General Report on FISA Abuse Isn't Done Soon, We Know It's a Game

Former Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley has been asking for weeks: Where is the Department of Justice Inspector General report about FISA abuse and the origins of the Russia probe?

The final version was supposed to be made public in June. It's now November. It's been reported Inspector General Michael Horowitz is working to get the report out before Thanksgiving, but we aren't holding our breathe.

The lengthy delay is raising questions among lawmakers about how the report may be edited and whether allies of James Comey at the FBI are involved.

PIERS MORGAN: Democrats have put all their chips on impeaching Trump but they’ve forgotten the golden rule of warfare: never start a battle you can’t win

There have been many great generals in the annals of history, often with very different ideas of exactly how to wage war.

But there is one common principle that links them all.

‘If a battle can’t be won, don’t fight it,’ cautioned Sun Tzu, the revered Chinese warrior from 544-496 BC whose tactical treatise 'The Art of War' is now considered a masterpiece.

‘Don’t fight a battle if you don’t gain anything by winning,’ agreed Erwin Rommel, the Nazis’ most successful general in World War 2.

The Islamic Trojan Horse

Many in the West today are grappling as to how Islam has been able to get a foothold in our society. We know of Islamists’ present-day means to get government officials to capitulate to their whims through lobbying and the mainstream media, presenting themselves as victims of the same Western society that has helped them. But how have they been able to acquire such political leverage? Apparently, there has been a willful lack of circumspection or foresightedness. Back in the 1970s, the late archbishop Marcel Lefebvre had said:
“As long as Muslims are an insignificant minority in a Christian country, they can live on friendly terms, because they accept the laws and customs of the country that receives them. But as soon as they become numerous and organize, they become aggressive and try to impose their laws, which are hostile to [Western] civilization.”
Protagonists such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar -- both supposed allies of the United States and the European Union -- have been able to forge or manipulate situations having politicians and the mainstream media to direct attention to military conflicts in the Middle East, such as Syria and Afghanistan, or by “exclusively” focusing on the Iranian regime as the principle source of terrorism. As Ayaan Hirsi Ali explained, because of the West’s obsession with terror, we have become blind to the broader threat of the dawa, (Islamic proselytizing): the ideology behind the terror attacks -- and what drives numerous Muslims to Islamize us. In other words, by leading us to believe that the threat of Islam is only in far-off distant lands, Islamists have been able to conceal their ultimate weapons of Islamization: exploitation of democracy and pluralism, immigration, and the multiplication of the progeny.

William Taylor: I'm not 'a star witness' for Democrats

Ambassador William Taylor, the top diplomat in Ukraine, told Republican Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan that he doesn't consider himself to be a "star witness" in the impeachment investigation into President Trump.

Taylor, 72, along with George Kent, the deputy assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs, testified on Wednesday in front of the House Intelligence Committee in what was the first public testimony in the investigation.

Jordan, who was placed on the committee last week so he could participate in the hearings, called Taylor the Democrat's "star witness" at the end of his questioning of the ambassador.

GOP lawmakers live-tweet public impeachment hearings, try to discredit diplomats

As a pair of State Department officials testified before the House Intelligence Committee, House Republicans downplayed their relevance to the Democrat impeachment investigation into President Trump.

"Neither of these witnesses have any serious firsthand knowledge of the key events," Rep. Mark Meadows of North Carolina said Wednesday as the hearing played out on live television across the country. "Taylor didn't even speak to [Trump] during any of this. Kent admitted he had no firsthand info of any order from POTUS."

William Taylor, the Trump administration's top U.S. diplomat in Ukraine and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs George Kent, both testified before the Democratic-controlled committee Wednesday morning.

Women who live in America’s suburbs are supporting President Donald Trump’s re-election bid, says a new report at OpenSecrets.org, that shows Trump is benefiting from a surge in large-dollar donations from women in suburbs – more than any Democrat candidate.

While mainstream media are reporting some polls that suggest Trump is losing the support of women, the report by Open Secrets, part of the Center for Responsive Politics, shows the president has over 10,500 large-dollar contributions from women in suburbs, and has received $8,293,135 from them – the largest amount than any of the Democrat 2020 candidates.

'Indisposed due to illness': Ruth Bader Ginsburg absent from Supreme Court

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg missed oral arguments before the Supreme Court on Wednesday.

She is "indisposed due to illness," Chief Justice John Roberts said at the start of proceedings. She intended to participate in the consideration of the cases by reading briefs and transcripts, Roberts added.

Ginsburg, 86, is the oldest member of the court and the anchor of its liberal bloc. She has survived four bouts of cancer. If she were to die or retire, President Trump would have the opportunity to appoint a third justice to the high court, potentially cementing a 6-3 conservative majority for decades to come.

Worcester Enrollment Projections Raise School Crowding Concerns

BERLIN – When Berlin officials approved plans for the addition of apartments to the Purnell Crossing development, residents were quick to question the impact they would have on local schools. They worried enrollment, which seems to always be on the rise, would increase dramatically between the apartments under construction on Seahawk Road and those planned for Old Ocean City Boulevard.

“The world is about to bear down on this part of the Eastern Shore and we’re just not prepared,” Berlin resident Jeff Smith said.

In the last five years, enrollment in Worcester County Public Schools (WCPS) has increased 2%. While the rise in students overall is slight, north end schools have seen a bit more growth, with a 3% increase in enrollment. A close look at Berlin, however, shows that enrollment at Buckingham Elementary School has increased 14% between 2014 and 2018. A student body of 487 students in 2014 grew to 556 in 2018.

Trump: Open Borders Threatens the Wage Gains of America’s Lowest-Income Workers

President Donald Trump touted the wage gains for Americans in the lowest income brackets, adding that that the open borders policies of the Democratic Party threaten those gains.

“Since the election, real wages have gone up 3.2 percent for the median American worker,” Trump said in a speech Tuesday to the Economic Club of New York. “But for the bottom income group, real wages are soaring. A number that has never happened before. Nine percent.”

Wage gains for those near the bottom of America’s economic ladder have been particularly strong this year. The lowest-paid Americans saw weekly earnings rise by more than 5 percent in the second quarter from a year earlier, according to a quarterly survey of households produced by the Labor Department. Workers with less than a high-school diploma saw their wages grow nearly 6 percent.

“That may mean you make a couple of bucks less in your companies,” Trump said. “And you know what? That’s okay. This is a great thing for our country. When you talk about equality. This is a great thing for our country.”

Comrade Elrich’s Kirwan Plan: Government Run Pot Stores

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich (D) this past week told a community forum that to pay for the Kirwan Commission’s $ 4 billion educational spending recommendations, the state should legalize and control the sale of marijuana.[i] According to Bethesda Beat, Elrich’s vision includes the state government controlling marijuana dispensaries, much like how the county government operates its liquor stores.

Among the many, many problems with Elrich’s proposal for paying for Kirwan, the county-run liquor stores actually lose money.

According to a more detailed financial analysis recently completed for the County Council, the liquor monopoly’s net profit is entirely due to its wholesale warehouse operation. The County’s retail operation, its twenty-five stores with a monopoly on selling hard liquor, in fact, loses money. The loss is about $5 million a year.

Conservative Supreme Court justices seem ready to allow Trump to end DACA

A closely divided Supreme Court on Tuesday grappled with whether to allow the Trump administration to bring an end to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

After more than an hour of arguments, the court’s conservative wing of the bench appeared ready to side with President Trump in his efforts to rescind the program, which was started under President Barack Obama in 2012 and provides legal protections for young immigrants.

The dispute is one of the most closely watched of the Supreme Court’s blockbuster term, and hanging in the balance is the fate of 700,000 Dreamers, the name given to those brought to the United States illegally as children and shielded from the threat of deportation. A decision by the court is expected by the end of June, in the heart of the 2020 presidential campaign.

Parking continues to present problems

Parking remains one of the most contentious issues across college campuses today.

Who can park where, how much parking is available and what is being done are questions that many students have.

Salisbury University is no exception.

Last Tuesday, students had a chance to participate in a Parking and Transportation Town Hall and voice their concerns over the parking situation.

Increased fines for improper parking on campus have contributed significantly to the unrest among students who may be expected on campus for meetings or appointments, as explained by Student Government Association Junior Speaker of Senate David McCreary.

John Durham interviewed Australian diplomat whose tip prompted Trump-Russia investigation

U.S. Attorney John Durham reportedly interviewed the Australian diplomat whose tip about George Papadopoulos effectively started the counterintelligence investigation into President Trump's campaign in July 2016.

Alexander Downer, who was Australia's high commissioner to the United Kingdom up until last year, met with Durham's team last month in London and is said to have told investigators he was not part of a conspiratorial plot to undermine Trump, according to the Australian.

Under the supervision of Attorney General William Barr, Durham is conducting an investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation, examining the conduct of the Justice Department, FBI, and intelligence community. Last month, Durham shifted his administrative review to a criminal investigation that allows his team the power to impanel a grand jury and hand down indictments.

Judicial Watch Obtains Emails Disputing Hillary Clinton’s Claim

Judicial Watch announced that it has received from the U.S. Department of Justice 119 pages of records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) revealing that, after former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s statement denying the transmission of classified information over her non-secure email system, former FBI official Peter Strzok sent an email to FBI officials citing “three [Clinton email] chains” containing (C) [classified] portion marks in front of paragraphs.”

The records containing emails from Strzok and former FBI attorney Lisa Page also reveal senior FBI officials’ concerns over articles written about the “tarmac meeting” between former President Bill Clinton and Attorney General Loretta Lynch. Strzok specifically cited a CBS News report terming the meeting “shocking, absolutely shocking,” and adding that, “the appearance of impropriety is just stunning.”

The document production came in response to Judicial Watch’s January 24, 2018, lawsuit.

Judicial Watch Sues for Documents on Obama/UN Effort to Undermine Elected Government in Guatemala

Judicial Watch has filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the State Department for communications among U.S. and Guatemalan officials regarding the of International Commission Against Impunity in Guatemala (CICIG, its acronym in Spanish).

Judicial Watch filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia after the State Department failed to comply with May and August 2018 FOIA requests for records of communications and meetings between the U.S. Mission to the United Nations and CICIG’s Commissioner Iván Velásquez Gómez; any representative of CICIG; as well as other Guatemalan officials. Judicial Watch also seeks records of communications of State Department officials, including Ambassador Todd Robinson, with Velásquez and others related to CICIG (Judicial Watch Inc. v U.S. Department of State (No.1:19-cv-00968)).

The U.N.’s CICIG was formed in December 2006 and given the mission of strengthening the rule of law in Guatemala but has been embroiled in controversy and was reportedly politicizing the judiciary:

CICIG says it is in Guatemala merely to “support” the attorney general in her work “identifying and dismantling” criminal networks and is not involved in politics. But an academic analysis of CICIG by Jonatán Lemus, a Francisco Marroquín University political science professor, suggests otherwise. Mr. Lemus observes that “CICIG has also been criticized for the very same reasons others have praised it: becoming a player in judicial appointments, proposing some controversial reforms to the Guatemalan constitution, and the use of televised conferences to shift the public in its favor. From this perspective, instead of strengthening Guatemalan institutions, the Commission is making national institutions dependent on its assistance.”
