Protesters approved to fly 'Baby Trump' balloon during Trump's Fourth of July address on National Mall

The National Park Service approved an application from a group of protesters to fly a "Baby Trump" balloon on the National Mall this Fourth of July.

People affiliated with the group Code Pink filed the permit application for July 4 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Their application had asked for access to an "open grassy area nearest to Lincoln Memorial."

NPS Chief Spokesperson Mike Litterst confirmed the application had been approved but said they hadn't given the group a permit yet.

"We are working with the applicants to determine the location and specific conditions under which the demonstration will take place," Litterst said in an email.

  1. Are you fu*king serious? A Unites States Government agency, one in which the President ultimately presides over, has given permission to a group of protesters to basically embaress the President during his Independence Day speech. WTF has our country become?????

Easy answer to simple question: Our country values and protect free speech and the right to protest.

I for one think that balloon is great, and I don't think it will hurt Trump one bit. He's as slippery as it gets, and he'll find a way to make it work for him... don't worry about it, it's funny...

    1. Disgusting. This would never happen to Obama or any other President. It's called respect. I believe in free speech but I believe more in respect.

    2. 659 I find it hard to believe you are this ignorant or clueless about recent history. So that just makes you a hypocrite or liar. One's right to free speech has NOTHING to do with your definition of respect. And spend 10 seconds on google and you'll find way more offensive displays of anti-obama signs/floats/cartoos...the list goes on.

Exactly what do you mean? Did I say something wrong or are you just trying to look intellegent? Is he not the President of the United States? Therefore does he not ultimately preside over all government agencies? Just like the President of a major corporation does? That being said, you may want to have a lick of common sense instead of trying to look intellegent.

    1. 4:18 Sorry But I think it’s you that’s trying to be quite intelligent or cute. Not sure which. My comment was spot on. Your comment however was quite petty. Because you and I both know you would never think it was hysterical if it was Obammy. But carry on. You’re a legend in your own mind! Only bad thing is people see through your “intellect” or should I say bullshit🤷‍♀️

  16. I think the permit should be denied because it would be a safety hazard. Could agitate someone to the point of possibly trying to bring it down by force thereby possibility of a brawl - disruption to innocent people attending a peaceful event. What do you think. Reasonable😂😂😂😂
