Sarah Sanders questions motivation of New York Times writer for ‘ridiculous story’ on Kavanaugh

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders questioned the motivation of Emily Bazelon, a staff writer at New York Times Magazine, for writing a “ridiculous story” Monday that detailed how Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was questioned by police after a bar fight in the 1980s.

The piece, written by Bazelon and Ben Protess, reported how Kavanaugh was blamed for throwing ice on another man “for an unknown reason.” When questioned by police later, Kavanaugh did not want “to say if he threw the ice or not.”

Sanders seized on the report by retweeting a July tweet from Bazelon that was critical of Kavanaugh's nomination.

"It's Just Not Right": Flake Blasts Trump's "Appalling" Mockery Of Kavanaugh Accuser

After referring to Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee last week, President Trump has apparently changed his mind (perhaps because he senses that Democrats will continue to do everything in their power to delay a confirmation vote on Judge Brett Kavanaugh for as long as possible). And at a rally in Mississippi Tuesday night, Trump pointed out several inconsistencies in Ford's story about what transpired that summer night in 1982 in his characteristically animated fashion...
WATCH: President Trump mocks Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, who has accused Trump's Supreme Court pick Judge Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct, during rally in Mississippi. https://nbcnews.to/2P0Erxr

But despite the fact that his remarks were relatively measured (by Trump standards), the media swiftly condemned the president for his comments, claiming that he "mercilessly mocked" a survivor of sexual assault. Adding his voice to the chorus of outrage, Arizona Senator Jeff Flake chimed in during an interview with "Today" Wednesday morning, decrying the president's "appalling" remarks" and insisting that "it's just not right" and that "there is no time and place" for comments like that.

Thomas Gallatin: NYT Launches Anti-Trump Hit Piece Over His Taxes

This is yet another obvious political ploy designed to pressure Trump into releasing his tax returns.

On Tuesday, The New York Times published an article accusing President Donald Trump of having “engaged in suspect tax schemes as he reaped riches from his father.” The obviously anti-Trump hit piece claimed that Trump and his siblings used “dubious” tax methods and even “outright fraud” to greatly increase the money they received from their parents’ real-estate empire. But this is a prime example of fake news.

A lawyer for Trump, Charles J. Harder, blasted the Times, saying, “[The] allegations of fraud and tax evasion are 100 percent false, and highly defamatory. There was no fraud or tax evasion by anyone. The facts upon which The Times bases its false allegations are extremely inaccurate.” He further explained, “President Trump had virtually no involvement whatsoever with these matters. The affairs were handled by other Trump family members who were not experts themselves and therefore relied entirely upon the aforementioned licensed professionals to ensure full compliance with the law.” In fact, the Times tacitly acknowledges that the Internal Revenue Service was fully aware of the Trumps’ actions and evidently had no objections at the time — because the Trump family accountantsfollowed the law.

Report: Blasey Ford Best Friend Also Career FBI Agent

Association with former FBI agent raises questions about letter sent to Dianne Feinstein

In a letter released from Christine Blasey Ford’s ex-boyfriend, it was alleged that Ford helped life-long friend Monica L. McLean pass a polygraph test.

But who exactly is Monica McLean?

In addition to being Ford’s best friend, McLean was also a 24-year employee of the Department of Justice and FBI from 1992 to 2016, according to her LinkedIn profile.

The ex-boyfriend described Ford’s relationship with McLean in a letter obtained by Fox News, detailing how she helped McLean pass a polygraph for an FBI position.

“During some of the time we were dating, Dr. Ford lived with Monica McLean, who I understood to be her life-long best friend. During that time, it was my understanding that McLean was preparing was interviewing for jobs with the FBI and the US Attorney’s Office,” he wrote.

“I witnessed Dr Ford help McLean prepare for a potential polygraph exam. Dr. Ford explained in detail what to expect, how polygraphs worked and helped McLean become familiar and less nervous about the exam. Dr. Ford was able to help because of her background in psychology.”

How China Used a Tiny Chip to Infiltrate U.S. Companies

In 2015, Amazon.com Inc. began quietly evaluating a startup called Elemental Technologies, a potential acquisition to help with a major expansion of its streaming video service, known today as Amazon Prime Video. Based in Portland, Ore., Elemental made software for compressing massive video files and formatting them for different devices. Its technology had helped stream the Olympic Games online, communicate with the International Space Station, and funnel drone footage to the Central Intelligence Agency. Elemental’s national security contracts weren’t the main reason for the proposed acquisition, but they fit nicely with Amazon’s government businesses, such as the highly secure cloud that Amazon Web Services (AWS) was building for the CIA.

To help with due diligence, AWS, which was overseeing the prospective acquisition, hired a third-party company to scrutinize Elemental’s security, according to one person familiar with the process. The first pass uncovered troubling issues, prompting AWS to take a closer look at Elemental’s main product: the expensive servers that customers installed in their networks to handle the video compression. These servers were assembled for Elemental by Super Micro Computer Inc., a San Jose-based company (commonly known as Supermicro) that’s also one of the world’s biggest suppliers of server motherboards, the fiberglass-mounted clusters of chips and capacitors that act as the neurons of data centers large and small. In late spring of 2015, Elemental’s staff boxed up several servers and sent them to Ontario, Canada, for the third-party security company to test, the person says.

Nested on the servers’ motherboards, the testers found a tiny microchip, not much bigger than a grain of rice, that wasn’t part of the boards’ original design...

Rand Paul’s Wife: “Our Family Has Experienced Violence At A Horrifying Level”

“I now keep a loaded gun by my bed”

Senator Rand Paul’s wife has spoken out in regards to the growing trend of harassment and actual physical violence against Republicans and conservatives, revealing that her family has experienced ‘horrific’ threats in recent months.

Kelley Paul penned an open letter to Democratic Senator Cory Booker, who previously encouraged activists to “get up in the face of some congresspeople”.

Mrs Paul’s letter comes after her husband was ‘doxxed’ and accosted by a leftist mob this week at an airport.

“Earlier this week, Rand was besieged in the airport by activists “getting up in his face,” as you, Senator Booker, encouraged them to do a few months ago.” Mrs Paul writes.

“Preventing someone from moving forward, thrusting your middle finger in their face, screaming vitriol — is this the way to express concern or enact change? Or does it only incite unstable people to violence, making them feel that assaulting a person is somehow politically justifiable?” she continues.

Mrs Paul called for Booker to retract his comments, and wrote that they are “all part of a broader effort to intimidate and threaten Republican members of Congress and their families.”

Minneapolis police won't look into claim against Keith Ellison

The DFL Party’s attempt to find a law enforcement agency willing to investigate a domestic abuse claim against U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison was mired in uncertainty Wednesday, after the Minneapolis Police Department said it would seek to refer the case to another jurisdiction.

Earlier Wednesday, the DFL asked Minneapolis police to investigate after both a city attorney and a county prosecutor declined to review a report the party commissioned that did not substantiate the allegation.

Ellison’s former girlfriend, Karen Monahan, alleges that the Democratic candidate for attorney general tried to drag her off a bed during a fight in August 2016. He denies it.

“Due to a conflict of interest, or the appearance of a conflict of interest, the Minneapolis Police Department will not be handling the matter involving Congressman Keith Ellison,” read a police statement. It said the department is in communication with other law enforcement agencies to which it may refer the case. Ellison’s son, Jeremiah Ellison, is a member of the Minneapolis City Council.

Sen. Flake, I Was Assaulted by a Stranger. Here's Why I Want Kavanaugh Confirmed.

This letter was sent Oct. 2 to Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz.

Dear Senator,

The issues of rape and sexual assault are not abstract concepts for me. In 1996 while pregnant with my first child, I was assaulted by a stranger on my morning run near my home in Northern Virginia. His intent was to rape me, but thanks to a good Samaritan who heard my screams and came quickly to assist me, I was spared the pain so many other women have endured.

Sexual exploitation is also one of Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee’s (CWALAC) seven core issues, and many of our supporters have shared their personal and emotional stories of sexual assault with me.

I recently shared their concerns as I testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee in support of the Debbie Smith Act reauthorization, advocating for improvements that can help us bring even more effective help to victims of abuse. I dedicated an entire chapter of my book “Feisty and Feminine” to the topic, and I have written countless op-eds advocating for victims.

I share all this to strongly suggest a deep divide exists between many members of the #MeToo movement and those who wish to politicize and weaponize it for their own purposes. I fear that the circus around Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation under the veil of helping victims of sexual abuse is demeaning to victims and will have lasting, damaging impact on the seriousness of our cause going forward.

Make no mistake; we must stand squarely on the side of victims of sexual assault and hear their pain, but we must also embrace the principle of a presumption of innocence for every man and woman.

As much as we would like to believe women, we learned the hard way from the Duke lacrosse case, Rolling Stone’s UVA, and others the reason justice must remain blind to all immutable characteristics, including gender. The idea of supporting women and blind justice are completely compatible, and if we fail to recognize either, we will hurt our efforts to combat sexual exploitation.

Brett Kavanaugh Can Thank Obama For the Sexual Assault Witch Hunt. Obama Also Changed American Culture on Transgender Issues and ‘The Handmaid’s Tale'

Last week, Americans watched heartbreaking testimony about sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Democrats seem to be operating on the basis of "guilty until proven innocent," believing the accuser without any corroborating evidence. This kind of sexual assault witch hunt actually began under former president Barack Obama — as did some of the other key social issues America is wrestling with today.

While the Left's advocacy on social issues and identity politics long predated Obama, the former president's policies supercharged many of the issues dividing America in 2018. His administration helped launch the current liberal cultural wave that wreaks havoc on American politics — and extends far beyond politics.

Here are five key ways Obama's policies impacted American culture, beginning with #MeToo, sexual assault, and Brett Kavanaugh.

1. The sexual assault maelstrom.

It all started in 2011, when the Office of Civil Rights (OCR) under Obama's Department of Education (DOE) issued a "Dear Colleague" letter reinterpreting Title IX of the 1972 Higher Education Act. The OCR letter encouraged colleges and universities to set up what Harvard Law professors Jacob Gerson and Jeannie Suk called a "sex bureaucracy."

Sen. David Perdue: Republicans Need to ‘Grow Up’ and Confront ‘Paid Activists’

Sen. David Perdue (D-GA) said on Wednesday that Republicans should not put up with the harassment and intimidation of left-wing protesters who have descended on Capitol Hill to protest President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, after Christine Blasey Ford accused him of sexually assaulting her decades ago at a high school party.

“These are not genuine people who are concerned about Dr. Ford or anything else. These are paid activists,” Perdue said on The Laura Ingraham Show. “This is a George Soros conspiracy, and it’s time we wake up, expose them, stand up, and fight for our country because that’s what’s at stake here.”

“It’s time for Republicans to stop being the minority party, grow up and stop playing defense,” Perdue said. “This is the time right now.”

Federal Judge Restores Non-Violent Offender’s Gun Rights Following Landmark Case

Judge says non-violent DUIs not enough to meet standard for lifelong gun ban

A federal judge restored the rights of a Pennsylvania man on Friday after determining that his misdemeanor driving under the influence convictions were not serious enough to justify a lifelong restriction on his Second Amendment rights.

Chief Judge Christopher Conner of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania ruled that Raymond Holloway’s second misdemeanor DUI conviction in 2005 was not a serious enough crime to result in a lifetime abridgment of one of his constitutional rights. Connor applied the standard set in the landmark case Binderup v. the U.S. Attorney General where the Third Circuit Court of Appeals found those convicted of certain nonviolent offenses can’t be barred from owning firearms for the rest of their lives. He said the government had failed to show that Holloway’s misdemeanor DUI convictions meant he should be disarmed for life.

“Defendants’ evidence fails to account for key characteristics of Holloway and similarly situated persons. They have presented no evidence indicating that individuals like Holloway—after over a decade of virtuous, noncriminal behavior—’remain [so] potentially irresponsible’ that they should be prohibited from owning a firearm,” Conner wrote in his ruling. “The government has not demonstrated a substantial fit between Holloway’s continued disarmament and the important government interest of preventing armed mayhem.”

Breaking News: Senator Susan Collins, a Republican, said she'd vote to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, all but assuring he'll be approved.

Ms. Collins’ announcement, in a lengthy speech on the Senate floor that dwelled more on Judge Kavanaugh’s judicial record than on the sexual misconduct charges that have consumed his nomination, came after a dramatic 51-49 procedural vote to limit debate on the nomination — the next-to-last step in the tumultuous Supreme Court confirmation process.

A final confirmation vote for Judge Kavanaugh could come as early as Saturday.

Navy vet arrested in ricin probe after suspicious mailings to Trump, Pentagon

SALT LAKE CITY — A U.S. Navy veteran in Utah was arrested Wednesday in connection with suspicious envelopes that were sent to President Donald Trump and top military chiefs.

William Clyde Allen III, 39, was taken into custody in in the small northern Utah city of Logan, said Melodie Rydalch, a spokeswoman for the state's U.S. attorney's office.

The arrest comes after authorities confirmed an investigation into two envelopes once thought to contain ricin and later found to be castor seeds, the substance from which the poison is derived. They can cause injury if swallowed.

The FBI said there were potentially hazardous chemicals involved with their operation in Utah on Wednesday, but declined to give additional details. No attorney was immediately listed for Allen.

The envelopes addressed to Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and the Navy's top officer, Adm. John Richardson, were isolated at a mail screening facility and sent to the FBI. No one was injured, and neither envelope entered the Pentagon. Mattis is traveling in Europe this week.

An envelope also was sent to the president Monday with unknown contents. The Secret Service says it didn't reach the White House.

BUt her story keeps changing and she has no witnesses.

On Wednesday night Alan Deshowitz told Tucker that Swetnick should be tried and jailed if she committed perjury.

Maryland's Elijah Cummings could become chief Trump investigator if Democrats win the House

The congressman who could become President Donald Trump’s recurring political nightmare has photos on his office walls of himself with anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela, pathbreaking boxer Muhammad Ali and civil rights activist Coretta Scott King.

Each were fighters of a sort, and Rep. Elijah Cummings says he is, too. The Baltimore Democrat’s battles usually involve pushing back as best he can on Trump administration policies and practices.

He might possess a booming voice, but Cummings — the top Democrat on the Republican-controlled House Oversight and Government Reform Committee — lacks the ability to compel documents or witnesses, meaning his 64 subpoena requests remained tucked away for now like dormant volcanoes waiting to erupt.

I Covered Crime in Maryland in the ’80s. I Never Heard of Teen Gang-Rape Parties.

“Oh, I think everyone in the county remembers these parties,” Julie Swetnick says with a smile during her nationally televised interview.

Um, not me, Julie.

I had my first job as a reporter in Montgomery County, Maryland, at the time Swetnick claims Brett Kavanaugh and other teenage boys routinely were drugging and gang-raping girls at a series of house parties in the county, which adjoins Washington, D.C.

In fact, I worked for the Gaithersburg Gazette, in a newsroom about a mile south of Gaithersburg High School, where Swetnick graduated in 1980. (I was a 1973 graduate of Magruder High, a rival of Gaithersburg High.)

I got a full-time job as a reporter at the widely distributed Gazette after graduating from George Washington University in 1979 and doing an internship there the previous summer. I covered Gaithersburg and Rockville city governments, including the city councils and agencies such as the police departments. (Rockville is the Montgomery County seat.)

I never heard word one about teen parties where girls routinely were sexually assaulted, much less where gang rapes were on the agenda, as Swetnick claims of gatherings attended by Kavanaugh, now President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee.

Flake, Collins Say FBI Report "Thorough", Fails To Corroborate Claims By Kavanaugh Accuser

The confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the US Supreme Court now appears to be a foregone conclusion, after two key GOP swing votes backed an FBI report they called for before committing to voting 'yes' for the nominee.

Sen. Jeff Flake of Arizona backed fellow GOP Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, calling the FBI's reopened background investigation of sexual harassment claims against Kavanaugh thorough, and noting that it failed to back salacious claims made by accuser Christine Blasey Ford.

"I think Susan Collins was quoted saying it was very thorough but no new corroborative information came out of it. That’s accurate," Flake told reporters after viewing the FBI report in the Capitol Visitor Center's secure compartmentalized information facility (SCIF) on Thursday.

"I wanted this pause, we’ve had this pause. We’ve had the professionals, the FBI, determine — given the scope that we gave them, current credible allegations — to go and do their review which they’ve done," said Flake, adding "Thus far we’ve seen no new credible corroboration, no new corroboration at all."

Also undecided was GOP Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, who pushed for the FBI report delay just one day after Dianne Feinstein cornered her in a hallway for an apparent "talking to."

Graham: FBI Background Check Was Done Professionally, 'Without Interference'

On Thursday while speaking to reporters, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said he was confident the extended FBI background check of Supreme Court associate justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh was done professionally and without interference.

Graham said, “It’s a complete report. It’s a background check. I’m confident the FBI did a good job. They were not hindered in any way. The focus was allegations before the committee. I was looking for certain things to be answered by witnesses. I’m more confident than ever that what the committee found has held up and then some. The main thing for me is that you need to go to the and need to ask them did they feel like they were able to do their job without interference, and I think the answer is yes. Over 150 people have been interviewed throughout the course of Brett Kavanaugh’s life. To those who suggest he had a problem like this from prior interviews, no evidence of that. That’s all manufactured. The senators who requested the supplemental FBI background check got what they requested, and I am ready to vote.”

Wall Street Journal on Brett Kavanaugh: 'We're All Deplorables Now'

The Wall Street Journal has published a lead editorial Wednesday evening in which it argues the Democrats’ effort to destroy Brett Kavanaugh has reminded anti-Trump conservatives that the left hates them even more than it hates the president.

The Journal further argues that the left has unified Republicans — a seemingly impossible task, given internal divisions over Trump — by reminding them that Democrats’ hatred is not about Trump, but about the raw desire for power at any cost.

As such, the Journal editorial board — which once derided the Tea Party as “Hobbits” — writes, “We’re All Deplorables Now“:

Judge Kavanaugh would have been on any Republican’s short list for the Supreme Court. …

Mr. Trump’s nomination of Mr. Kavanaugh is a credit to the process he established to win the election and govern with conservative support. He sought the help of legal elites on the right, led by the Federalist Society, who compiled an impressive list of potential nominees. This isn’t a rogue judicial operation to choose presidential cronies. It is the gold standard for legal talent that believes in the original meaning of the Constitution. It’s hard to see how any GOP President would have done better, and others have done much worse.

This Is What Donald Trump Must Do To Battle The Deep State And Win

The below essay by long-time political operative Roger Stone is the most important essay I have come acrossdetailing how the Deep State has run counter-operations against Donald Trump, before he was elected president and since. In the essay, Stone also provides suggestions on how Trump should battle the DS.

The lesson here for libertarians is how government Deep State operatives often use laws created "to protect us" to instead protect sectors of central power. The only way to stop these power plays is to eliminate the power centers by shrinking government.

By Roger Stone

During the Presidential Campaign for the 2016 election, then Candidate Trump responded to the anguished cries of The People when he promised to “Drain the Swamp”. While Donald J. Trump knew instinctively that there was rampant corruption in Washington, D.C., it is entirely possible that he was surprised by the levels of vindictiveness and wrath he would eventually encounter.

In a prescient and possibly complicit statement, on January 3, 2017, mere days from Trump’s inauguration, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer warned the soon-to-be sworn-in President Elect. Schumer said that Donald Trump was being ”really dumb” to question US intelligence agency officials in their handling of the alleged “Russian Hacking” fabrications. Schumer warned: “Let me tell you: You take on the intelligence community – they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you,”. With the benefit of hindsight, we see that the Obama corrupted FBI with assistance from the Obama corrupted CIA tried more than six different ways, and are still trying even now.

The Russian Collusion Delusion is a fairly complicated bit of political machinery. That was by design. It doesn’t take very much complexity to make most people’s eyes glaze over, which is why we have specialists for almost all complicated endeavors. Engineers, programmers, chemists, doctors, and a multitude of others makes the fabric of our complex society. It simply isn’t possible for anyone to become an expert in everything, and this is the principle upon which the Deep State’s coup d’état relies upon. In order to comprehend what they have done, how they did it, and who they brought in to help them one has to consider so many variables that it forces any who choose to fully understand it to become experts themselves. Most people don’t have the time or energy to become experts in political machinations and International intrigue, leaving the culprits free to continue exploiting the system.

Secrecy is the currency of spycraft. Without secrecy, spying is merely intrusion and can devolve into brute force thuggery. Secrecy is what allows “Covert Operations” to remain covert. Secrecy can be a legitimate tool of the State for securing the safety of its citizens, but secrecy can also be abused. Abused secrecy can destroy entire nations.

Obama's America on Display at Kavanaugh Hearings

President Trump has been in an uphill battle to reverse Obama's efforts to "fundamentally transform" America. Trump's successes in the past 20 months in erasing the damage of the Obama's eight years are well documented. But he has a long way to go based on what we saw in the Kavanaugh hearings.

Trump's biggest challenge is to push back Obama's primary legacy of identity politics, which is destroying the fabric of our nation. Neighbors, family members and old friends have been split apart, by design. Obama polarized America according to race, ethnic background, sex, sexual orientation, and politics.

Like a deadly cancer, the Obama legacy has metastasized into widespread hatred among Americans that was on display at the Kavanaugh hearings. Obama's primary legacy is dangerously malignant and more toxic than ever, fueled by cynical and destructive politicians, the Alinsky Rules for Radicals, and billions of dollars from the evil George Soros.

Statements from the hearings and the left-wing mobs and commentators attempting to disrupt the proceedings tell the story. "Call your senators and tell them to vote no for Kavanaugh – the future of our country deserves more than a privileged white boy." Were you able to catch the code words? "Privileged." "White boy."

Hawaii Democrat Mazie Hirono made headlines when she told all men to "shut up and step up and do the right thing for a change." In other words, men rarely do the right thing. Men, did you get it?

It's All Gone: The Democrats' Dead Ideals

As the spurious case against Brett Kavanaugh disintegrates, splinters, and re-forms into a cacophony of whiny, irrelevant expostulations, it is instructive to step back and survey the field upon which this battle took place.

The ground is littered with dead and wounded ideals: civility, dead; basic decency, dead; the presumption of innocence, gravely wounded, ditto for the idea of due process. And this disgusting carnage is all on you, O ancient one, Dianne Feinstein, and your self-important, preposterous colleagues. You were desperate to keep Brett Kavanaugh off the Supreme Court so you abandoned any semblance of decency and respect. You travestied the processes of the United States Senate for the sake of a cynical grab at power. I’d say that you should be ashamed of yourselves, but, like the thugs that you are, you have no shame. You believe the acquisition of power is a magical antidote to shame. You are wrong about that, and one can only hope that you will one day reap some portion of the obloquy you have sowed.

It is not yet clear what the snarling, incontinent attacks on Brett Kavanaugh will mean for him and his family. Early indications are not encouraging.

For many years, Judge Kavanaugh has taught a course at Harvard Law School. A couple of days ago, that Cambridge-based plutocratic bastion of privilege, smugness, and political correctness announced that Judge Kavanaugh was no longer welcome to teach there. Later, a coven of lonely and unappealing Harvard feminists filed a battery of groundless Title IX claims against him.

Here's what we're doing

Dear Supporter,

With little more than a month until the general election, the battle for election integrity is raging from coast to coast - and as the Wall Street Journal rightly reported, the
Senate Fight Unfolds on Deep Red Terrain. True the Vote went out on a bit of a limb when we forecasted our target states, but polls are now showing that all ten of our targets have races with extremely narrow margins; so we are focused in the right places. Here’s what’s on our radar:

Make no mistake, integrity is critical in all elections, in every state. We’ve chosen to highlight these races because they are soooo close, which makes it all the more important for well-trained volunteers to help uphold the rule of law at every step of the electoral process. With that in mind, here’s what True the Vote is doing, online and on the ground:

We’ve launched online trainings
Our online video training platform has launched, with people now signing up 24x7. If you are interested in learning what it means to be a poll watcher,
please check out the online training for election workers. It’s important to note that this training isn’t intended to replace any local training that poll workers may be required to attend. Instead, it's to cover the basics of what you can expect when working at the polls. We’ve also posted trainings for election integrity teambuilding, mail-in ballot reviews, and more. All the trainings and materials are free, so please check them out!

We’re working with Judicial Watch supporters
Judicial Watch sent True the Vote info to their entire membership, resulting in an outpouring of interested volunteers looking for ways to work in the polls. We’re thrilled, of course, because we think
Judicial Watch is amazing.

We’re spreading the word
We are letting all state parties know that True the Vote is available to provide election integrity training and support. If you are interested in working in the polls, you’ll likely need to connect with your preferred political party, so they can add you to their election plans.
You can find a full list of state political organizations here, along with all kinds of state-specific election information. We are also working with pro-liberty organizations across key states, with speaking engagements and trainings scheduled from now until the election. If you are affiliated with an organization that would like to connect with us, please let us hear from you! There are also many great state organizations who might not be among our ten state focus, but who are doing great work and deserve your support - like Election Integrity Project California.

Of course, all our work is made possible only through the stalwart support of people like you. If you believe True the Vote’s work is important, then
please contribute to the cause
 if you can.

We’re all in this together - and, working together, we really can True the Vote.

Onward!

Relative Says Christine Blasey Ford Threw ‘Witness’ Leland Keyser ‘Under the Bus’

Leland Keyser’s relative has accused Christine Blasey Ford of throwing her “witness” and lifelong friend–Keyser–“under the bus.” This family member also sounds skeptical of Ford’s allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

Ford, the woman whose accusations of sexual conduct have crumbled under scrutiny, claimed that Keyser, a lifelong friend since high school, would validate her allegation.

Instead, Keyser said in a statement that she not only does not remember the house party where the 1982 incident allegedly took place, but she also has never even met Kavanaugh.

Although Ford’s story has countless discrepancies already, the fact that all three of her witnesses come down on the side of Kavanaugh–including her lifelong friend, Keyser–has blown the biggest hole in Ford’s shaky credibility. (They either do not remember the gathering or refute it completely.)

During her testimony last week before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Ford was asked about Keyser, and according to the Daily Mail, Keyser’s family is furious about what happened next.

What Ford told the committee about Keyser struck many as an attempt by Ford to attack her friend with the claim that Keyser would remember the incident if her health were not so bad, or that her health struggles forced her to lie because she does not have the strength to tell the truth.

Here is what Ford said:

Cherokee Woman Blasts Warren For 'Lies' About Native American Ancestry

'Racial identity theft' and cultural appropriation

A Cherokee woman and Democratic activist denounced Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) for her "lies" about being Native American and accused the likely presidential candidate of cultural appropriation and "racial identity theft."

Warren, who listed herself as a minority in law school based on her papaw's "high cheekbones" and was recognized as Harvard Law's "first woman of color" will not receive the support of Rebecca Nagle.

Writing in the Huffington Post, Nagle, a citizen of Cherokee Nation who identifies as a "two-spirit," says Warren should not become president because of her "false claims" of Native American ancestry.

"As a registered Democrat, I agree with a wide range of Warren's policies," Nagle writes. "But as a Cherokee woman, I cannot support her until she rescinds her false claims of Cherokee and Delaware heritage."

"Racial identity theft is normally not socially acceptable," Nagle said.

Selfless 9-Year-Old Uses Make-A-Wish To Throw Party For Entire School

Javier Amos has been battling leukemia. And the best news is he's now in remission.

The Make-a-Wish Foundation recently approached his family to grant him any wish he wanted. Javier could have gone to Disney World or met his favorite athlete.

Instead, he asked them to throw a pizza party for all of his friends at school.

"Out of all the wishes we have granted, this has got to be one of the most unique ones," Make-A-Wish South Dakota Program Services Director Joe Evenson said. "For a kid his age to be able to do what he’s doing today, he could have literally went anywhere in the world, chosen to met anybody he wanted to or had anything he wanted."

Tom Cotton: Trump is Right, 'Point' of Sanctuary Cities is to 'Release Criminal Aliens'

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) is standing by President Trump’s remarks on sanctuary city policies, which are cities and localities that protect criminal illegal aliens from deportation.

This week, Trump reiterated the Democrats’ support for sanctuary cities and illegal immigration, noting in a speech that “Democrats are ‘going to flood your streets with criminal aliens.'”

New York Times political correspondent Jonathan Martin called the comment “nativist.”
In response, Cotton defended Trump, saying the statement is entirely true, as the purpose of sanctuary cities is to protect criminal illegal aliens from federal immigration enforcement.

“Democrats support sanctuary cities, the whole point of which is to release criminal aliens into the streets,” Cotton said.

McConnell: 'The Fact Is That These Allegations Have Not Been Corroborated'

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) said the FBI's investigation into Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh has found no corroboration for the allegations against him.

"The fact is that these allegations have not been corroborated. None of the allegations have been corroborated by the seventh FBI investigation. Not in the new FBI investigation. Not anywhere," McConnell said.

The FBI conducted their seventh background check into Kavanaugh after allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced near the end of his confirmation process. Sen. Jeff Flake (R., Ariz.), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, announced that before he could vote for Kavanaugh on the floor of the Senate, he would need the FBI to do a further investigation into the allegations. President Donald Trump ordered the FBI to conduct the investigation. Democrats complained that the White House and Republicans limited the scope of the FBI and prevented the bureau from conducting a full investigation.

Senators have come out and said the FBI's report provides no new evidence against Kavanaugh and that none of the allegations could be corroborated by eye-witnesses.

The Clinton-Yeltsin Relationship in Their Own Words

Clinton Presidential Library Releases Memcons and Telcons of the 1990s

“We’ll build the partnership on the basis of our friendship, yours and mine, and we’ll do so for the sake of world peace”

“I understand your point Bill, and I will act as you suggest I should, especially since this is part of past practice established between you and me, and it has never failed us in the past” (Yeltsin to Clinton, September 12, 1998)

Washington, D.C., October 2, 2018 – President Bill Clinton saw Russian leader Boris Yeltsin as indispensable for promoting American interests following the collapse of the Soviet Union, often prompting him to take controversial steps to ensure Yeltsin’s political survival, according to top-level memoranda of conversation just released from the Clinton presidential library.

Clinton believed backing Yeltsin personally was necessary to ensure Russian stability and market reform, which he privileged over the development of democracy in the former Soviet republic, a careful reading of the presidential memcons shows. These priorities led to the U.S. tolerating election irregularities, and doing little to oppose Yeltsin as he empowered oligarchs and installed Vladimir Putin as his successor, among other consequences.

The new records confirm the Bill-Boris camaraderie was genuine but also masked a complex relationship and ultimately an uneven partnership that reflected the diametrically opposite political and economic trajectories of their two nations in the 1990s.

The Clinton-Yeltsin Relationship in Their Own Words

By Svetlana Savranskaya and Mary Sarotte

In July 2018, students of U.S.-Russian relations added hundreds of pages of declassified documents to their required reading list when the Clinton Presidential Library released almost all memoranda of Clinton-Yeltsin conversations in response to requests by historian Mary Sarotte in 2015. Today the National Security Archive publishes the highlights of this release.

The partnership between the United States and Russia that Presidents Bill Clinton and Boris Yeltsin tried to build in the 1990s succeeded only in part – but even that partial success helped to make the world a safer place. Cooperation on non-proliferation efforts, particularly within the framework of the Nunn-Lugar program, led to the successful withdrawal of nuclear weapons from Belarus, Kazakhstan, and above all Ukraine (briefly the third-largest nuclear power in the world due to the amount of Soviet-era weaponry on its territory). The Clinton-Yeltsin cooperation also enabled the safe dismantlement and storage of nuclear weapons in Russia as it complied with the START I treaty. Russia even participated in the international peacekeeping mission in Bosnia, became a member of the G-8, and joined the Council of Europe. In return, the Clinton administration provided badly needed economic assistance and used its leverage with international financial institutions to help Russia.

However, many contentious issues damaged the partnership along the way – most importantly NATO expansion and the military campaign in Kosovo. And, behind the rhetoric of equality and friendship lay the undeniable reality of an enormous power and status disparity. Russia was no longer the superpower that had challenged the United States at the height of the Cold War, and it was not even the declining-but-democratizing Soviet Union of Mikhail Gorbachev. Moscow often felt disrespected, and claimed that its interests and priorities were not being duly considered. For its part, the United States was willing to cooperate only – in Strobe Talbott’s words – on “what we deem to be [Russia’s] legitimate security concerns,” not on everything the Russians claimed to be important.
